The Guardian for this meeting was...well..Tarmel asked Corvi but Corvi slept through it..Corvi posted it though.
SophiaSharon Larnia: Hi Pila
Pila Mulligan: hi SophiaSharon
SophiaSharon Larnia: how are you?? how is Hawaii :))
Pila Mulligan: I am fine thanks, and the weather here has been nice today
Pila Mulligan: how are you?
SophiaSharon Larnia: happy just got back from vacation, glad to be back
Pila Mulligan: hello Steve
SophiaSharon Larnia: Hi Steve
stevenaia Michinaga: hello Pila, been a while
SophiaSharon Larnia: I have a silly question for you Pila
Pila Mulligan: ok, silly question -- yes, nice to see you again Steve
Pila Mulligan: :)
SophiaSharon Larnia: where do people who live in Hawaii go on vacation?
Pila Mulligan: to Hawaii
SophiaSharon Larnia: giggles
Pila Mulligan: very inexpensive
Pila Mulligan: nice beaches, restaurants, and no air fare, hotel or car rentals
SophiaSharon Larnia: yes, but id want to go on one of the helicopters
Pila Mulligan: they will cost you
Pila Mulligan: :)
stevenaia Michinaga: I see the volcano is smoking up the palce, is that near you?
Pila Mulligan: yes, the volcnao is 7 miles away
Pila Mulligan: from my house
stevenaia Michinaga: you downwind?
Pila Mulligan: normally I am upwind
Pila Mulligan: but when the wind is calm I get it
Pila Mulligan: :)
Pila Mulligan: otherwise the rest of the state gets it
stevenaia Michinaga: how lucky for you
Pila Mulligan: yes, it is ironic actually
Pila Mulligan: I moved here from Maui several years ago and everyone said watch out for the vog (the volcano smog)
Pila Mulligan: now they are getting it and I am not
SophiaSharon Larnia: is it unsettling or do you get used to it
Pila Mulligan: it is hard to get used to the intense part, a small amount of steam is actually not bad
Pila Mulligan: like a sulfur spring
Pila Mulligan: but there are now three lava outlets, and wehn I moved here there was only one
Pila Mulligan: and they are in a triangle several miles apart
Pila Mulligan: so there is much more steam now than before
SophiaSharon Larnia: a constant reminder of the finite nature of matter would leave me feeling off balance
stevenaia Michinaga: sounds like it looks lovely and must be hard t sleep with
Pila Mulligan: it is just part of the neighborhood :) (he says with extreme respect:)
SophiaSharon Larnia smiles
Pila Mulligan: Hawaii volcanoes do not explode, like Mt St. Helenas did, for example
Pila Mulligan: we have time ti ponder what Pele is doing
stevenaia Michinaga: do you have pest that do strange things when the ground rumbles?
Pila Mulligan: no, but I have me and I vibrate some then :)
SophiaSharon Larnia nods
stevenaia Michinaga: :)
Pila Mulligan: haven't started barking yet though
Pila Mulligan: where was your vacation SophiaSharon?
SophiaSharon Larnia: Nashville TN
SophiaSharon Larnia: ive never been there, and not much into country music but was interesting
Pila Mulligan: nice
Pila Mulligan: Gand Ol Opry
Pila Mulligan: Grand*
SophiaSharon Larnia: big music festival so many people, yes i was there
Pila Mulligan: I bet it was fun
Pila Mulligan: ever been to Preservation Hall in New Orleans?
SophiaSharon Larnia: it was interesting to go with the new perspective i have from attending PaB
SophiaSharon Larnia: oh yes Pila
Pila Mulligan: I imagne so, music as being
stevenaia Michinaga: How does it changes things?
Pila Mulligan: jazz is fun too
SophiaSharon Larnia grins
SophiaSharon Larnia: it didnt change things, i just see what i missed before i think
stevenaia Michinaga: I'll be in Montral for the Jazz fest the fist week of july
SophiaSharon Larnia: cool Steve
stevenaia Michinaga: we have friends we stay with there
SophiaSharon Larnia: best way to do it!!
SophiaSharon Larnia: imho anyway
stevenaia Michinaga: evening have been quite ere lately
stevenaia Michinaga: *here
SophiaSharon Larnia: people away in the summer?
Pila Mulligan: I've found myself busy outside during these times, now the weather is nice -- it starts at 4 pm here
SophiaSharon Larnia: brb
Pila Mulligan: :)
stevenaia Michinaga: ok
Pila Mulligan: today i had a tractor problem and got it fixed just about 4:00 pm, so it worked out ok
SophiaSharon Larnia: back
SophiaSharon Larnia: Hi Eos
Pila Mulligan: hi Eos
Pila Mulligan: wb SophiaSharon
stevenaia Michinaga: hello Eos
SophiaSharon Larnia: time to enjoy the day then Pila
Pila Mulligan: yep -- how are you Eos?
Eos Amaterasu: Fine - pretty busy lately - so glad to come by here...
Pila Mulligan: same here
SophiaSharon Larnia: i missed this place when i was away, read the chat logs :)
Eos Amaterasu: I try to keep here inside the busyness
SophiaSharon Larnia: ive been doing that a bit too Eos, hard to balance it sometimes
Eos Amaterasu: It can be challenging! :-)
SophiaSharon Larnia: i think part of my difficulty is thinking it is a challenge
stevenaia Michinaga: balance what?
SophiaSharon Larnia: keeping a calm state of mind in the hecticness of life
Eos Amaterasu: stillness and movement
SophiaSharon Larnia: :) movement and rest
Eos Amaterasu: I suppose that's what "being in the zone" is
stevenaia Michinaga: awww, seems to be less and less a concern over time, easier to be calm
Pila Mulligan: for some reason stillness and movement have been occupying a lot of my meditation space recently
Eos Amaterasu: they fill the whole of space :-)
Pila Mulligan: :)
Eos Amaterasu: stevenaia, what do you mean by "easier to be calm"?
stevenaia Michinaga: I am just more calm as time passes
Pila Mulligan: stillness correlates with excitement (as opposed to movement) in the sense of yin and yang, according to the I Ching -- so in that sense being still is indeed being calm rather than simply not moving
stevenaia Michinaga: calm, patience, able to take more moments to myself
Pila Mulligan: less excited? :)
Eos Amaterasu: indeed... Play as Being can be found in stopping movement for 9 secs
Eos Amaterasu: or in stopping without interrupting movement
stevenaia Michinaga: I thought stillness of mind can also me part of movement, Pila
Eos Amaterasu: the latter is both challenging and rewarding
Pila Mulligan: yes indeed, grasshopper
SophiaSharon Larnia: stopping without interupting movemnet, yes
SophiaSharon Larnia laughs
Eos Amaterasu: I think stevenaia also said it!
stevenaia Michinaga: that what Tai Chi is helping with
Pila Mulligan: on old tai chi teacher came by to visit today and we were talking about aging (I'm 63 and he is 60) -- he said he sees frailty associated with aging, but that the chi enregy is even more present
SophiaSharon Larnia: what makes it more present?
Pila Mulligan: perhaps easier stillness of mind as part of movement
Pila Mulligan: from practice
Eos Amaterasu: maybe also the very frailty lets the chi shine through more
Pila Mulligan: yes, he was saying maybe it is a kind of compensating effect
Pila Mulligan: similar idea to me
SophiaSharon Larnia: do you find it difficult to communicate when you are in this 'zone' Eos?
Eos Amaterasu: not at all
SophiaSharon Larnia: how do you do it?
Eos Amaterasu: I think you get more open, open to another, and more vulnerable which means more reachable
Pila Mulligan: however, Sophia Sharon, a part of a calm state of mind may being have less need to say as many things
SophiaSharon Larnia: yes
Eos Amaterasu: true
Eos Amaterasu: old pond
Eos Amaterasu: frog jump in water sound
Pila Mulligan: slurp
Eos Amaterasu: How do you find this zone, SophiaSharon?
SophiaSharon Larnia: i can communicae best in pictures or music, not in words
Pila Mulligan: I wa sjust thinking how a clam state of mind seems to let you describe an image rather that just put a thought into words
SophiaSharon Larnia: poems maybe
Eos Amaterasu: maybe a picture on a notecard?
SophiaSharon Larnia giggles
Pila Mulligan: :)
SophiaSharon Larnia: good idea
stevenaia Michinaga: I was away for a moment ... but what you said about communicating in pictures rings especially true for me
Pila Mulligan: ah, as in the art of seeing images of buildings?
stevenaia Michinaga: when I was with pema and a few guardians on October, one of the things we did was ... as a goup, was to draw
SophiaSharon Larnia: Hi Eliza
Pila Mulligan: hi Eliza
Eos Amaterasu: Eliza! Hi!
stevenaia Michinaga: hello
Eliza Madrigal: Hi :)
stevenaia Michinaga: , it was a rare momant, everyone drawing, no one talking any more
Eliza Madrigal: Yikes... think my recorder won't work now... I'll be an invisible participant :)
SophiaSharon Larnia: i see you now Eliza :))
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Sophia. You are the only one I see :)
SophiaSharon Larnia: oh!
Eos Amaterasu: (I see you, Eliza)
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Eos, Pila, Steven.... now there you all are :)
stevenaia Michinaga: then, about every 9 seconds we woulfd pass the drwing for the enct person to work on
Pila Mulligan: there are three more avis here, one to Sophia's left and two to her right
Pila Mulligan: ahh :)
SophiaSharon Larnia: that is cool Steven
Pila Mulligan: oh that is nice, a collecitve art work
stevenaia Michinaga: the images are on the wiki somewhere, I posted them
SophiaSharon Larnia: oh i must look for them
Eos Amaterasu: engaging inside senses
Pila Mulligan: Ade and I made a manadala here once on her drawing board, taking turns and contemplating the next stpes
Pila Mulligan: it was also quiet fun
Eliza Madrigal: i saw that log... was great
Pila Mulligan: kind of like an art meditation
Eos Amaterasu: in a way that's why/how people dance
SophiaSharon Larnia: :)
Pila Mulligan: nice association Eos
Eliza Madrigal nods
Eos Amaterasu: being in music, in movement, together, apart
Pila Mulligan: cooperative creativity
Pila Mulligan: or colective at least :)
Pila Mulligan: it may not be coopeartive when he steps on her foot
Eliza Madrigal: that breaks the tension so they can begin again
Eliza Madrigal: once she stops limping
Eos Amaterasu: grin and bear it
SophiaSharon Larnia: I'll have to try the art thing next sitting around with friends
SophiaSharon Larnia: next time*
Eos Amaterasu: Excellent!
stevenaia Michinaga: hello Eos
stevenaia Michinaga: awww, here they are: http://playasbeing.wik.is/Informatio...7_-_19_October
Pila Mulligan: have you ever tried the same mehtod with story telling/making?
stevenaia Michinaga: we used to do it at meetings.... to pass the time
Pila Mulligan: :) nice Steve
Pila Mulligan: thanks
Pila Mulligan: for the url
Eliza Madrigal: great... can see how much fun that was
stevenaia Michinaga: there are 11 total
Eos Amaterasu checking out the drawings
Eos Amaterasu: being avatars is like drawing ourselves
SophiaSharon Larnia: then i must have 50 selves
SophiaSharon Larnia: or so
Eos Amaterasu: hou're an artist!
SophiaSharon Larnia: (not alts tho!)
Eos Amaterasu: you're
Eliza Madrigal: :)
SophiaSharon Larnia laughs... no just get bored
SophiaSharon Larnia: theres alot in sl to express creativity with, im interested in doing so many things I dont excell in one area
SophiaSharon Larnia: clothes, building structures, landscapes, instruments, odd objects like my chakras to play with scripts
Eos Amaterasu: SL provides access to the paint of appearance
SophiaSharon Larnia: :))
Pila Mulligan: 'chakras to play with scripts'?
Eos Amaterasu: Yes, was wondering about that ?!?
SophiaSharon Larnia: i build a represntation on my chakras, and used scripts to move the individual chakras
Eos Amaterasu: Ah!
Eliza Madrigal: How interesting
Pila Mulligan: is this somehitng you can show us?
SophiaSharon Larnia: but they spin every where in odd ways so am learning, not ready to show yet
Pila Mulligan: ok :)
SophiaSharon Larnia grins
Pila Mulligan: sound slike fun
Eos Amaterasu: that's the trouble with chakras :-)
SophiaSharon Larnia: can learn about yourself that way too
SophiaSharon Larnia: hahah
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Pila Mulligan: maybe you could eventually script some mantras with the chakras showing a response :)
Eos Amaterasu: One of the nice forms in SL is conversing while doing Tai Chi
Eos Amaterasu: animated chakras are coming next :-)
Eliza Madrigal: wow
Pila Mulligan: now that is cool :
SophiaSharon Larnia: not near done yet
Eliza Madrigal: still picture worthy. may I?
Eos Amaterasu: I can feel the heat!
SophiaSharon Larnia: no not yet
Pila Mulligan: for the record, Sophia Sharon *is* showing her chakra scultpure
Eliza Madrigal: Okay :)
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, please post it in the wiki
Eliza Madrigal: that's really nice Sophia
SophiaSharon Larnia: ok it is missing the crown
SophiaSharon Larnia: the jewel
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, wouldn't want that
SophiaSharon Larnia: but you may take a picture for now
Eliza Madrigal: great work though
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, yes? Thanks.
stevenaia Michinaga: time for me to say goodnight, thanks
Eliza Madrigal: Night Steven
Pila Mulligan: bye Steve
stevenaia Michinaga: bye
SophiaSharon Larnia: bye steve
SophiaSharon Larnia: as you can see not done
SophiaSharon Larnia: i am so self conscious now lol
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, yours are better Pila
Eos Amaterasu: That was great!!!
Eos Amaterasu: Thnx Pila!
SophiaSharon Larnia: so not finished
Eliza Madrigal: Sophia, nothing to feel self-conscious about. Thanks for sharing that!
Pila Mulligan: it is expressive :)
SophiaSharon Larnia: and not even a true representation, like i said, playing with scripts
Eos Amaterasu: as much an avatar as your avatar
SophiaSharon Larnia: was working on fireworks for the crown and lost them over a neighbors plot
SophiaSharon Larnia: oopsie
Pila Mulligan: with things like art of chakras, I'm not sure there is a 'true representation' -- just perceptions
SophiaSharon Larnia: yes Pila, a picture of the moment
SophiaSharon Larnia: so to speak
Eos Amaterasu: that's the movement of stillness,....
Pila Mulligan: I'm always interested in the colors people associate with each chakra
SophiaSharon Larnia: oh my goodness Eliza thank you so much
Eliza Madrigal obviously has to learn about photography here in SL
Eliza Madrigal: Pila's shot was fantastic and he didn't get up...hehe
SophiaSharon Larnia smiles, its good
Pila Mulligan: thanks ELiza, yours has better colors
Pila Mulligan: maybe both can go in the log
SophiaSharon Larnia: i will post it, but i do not have yours Pila
Pila Mulligan: the muladhara of first chakra seems to often be red, but after that things vary quite a bit
Eos Amaterasu: brilliant green
Eos Amaterasu: (whups)
Pila Mulligan: oh, I though t I gave it to you, just a se please
SophiaSharon Larnia: the colors are more or less arbitrary
SophiaSharon Larnia: atm
Eliza Madrigal: even doing yoga for years I've not paid much attention to chakras until recently... was always sort of a background
SophiaSharon Larnia: was reaching for balance
SophiaSharon Larnia: ive only become interested in them lately
Pila Mulligan: I love the chakras :)
SophiaSharon Larnia: hahah
Eliza Madrigal: Isn't it funny how you can go along and something be in your spheres (senses, etc) and yet not really pay attention
SophiaSharon Larnia: the movement is what i was trying to pin down
Pila Mulligan: movement?
SophiaSharon Larnia: rotation, spin, the movement of the texture
SophiaSharon Larnia: they all spin differently
Eliza Madrigal: that the movement wasn't too frenetic or too slow, Sophia?
Pila Mulligan: would it relate to the movement of breath energy?
SophiaSharon Larnia: Eliza i was trying to 'see' my own, diagnostically you can say, and Pila, I'm not sure
SophiaSharon Larnia: but in playing with it became more experimentation
SophiaSharon Larnia: so got away from my original purpose
Eliza Madrigal: learning by play :)
SophiaSharon Larnia: oh yes
SophiaSharon Larnia: :))
Pila Mulligan: thanks to PaB discussions I've recently made an 'aha' internalization of the discussion of sceince and ascetics about mind-brain ...
SophiaSharon Larnia: please share
Pila Mulligan: the ancients were not that concerned with the brain
Pila Mulligan: so we should not really look there for the correlations with scinece
Pila Mulligan: they were concerned with the spine
Pila Mulligan: so the sicence correlations are in the autonomic nervous syetm
Pila Mulligan: the ganglia of the spine
Pila Mulligan: are most of the chakra
SophiaSharon Larnia: like memories and emotional responses are stored in the body and nervous system
Eliza Madrigal: quite a nice observation Pila!
Pila Mulligan: yes
Pila Mulligan: then I found there are actually a few web sites about it
Pila Mulligan: trying to correlate the ANS ganglia with chakras
Eliza Madrigal: Posture being vital for 'flow'
Pila Mulligan: yes
Pila Mulligan: not to crimp the nerves (ida and pingala in old terms)
SophiaSharon Larnia: yes, i bought a book in the good will while on vacation that was about this very thing
Pila Mulligan: :)
Eliza Madrigal: what a coincidence ;-)
Pila Mulligan: what is the book's name?
SophiaSharon Larnia: the book wasnt that good (pop science) but that basic premise was there
SophiaSharon Larnia: hold on
Eliza Madrigal nods...sometimes that happens. You pick up something silly but then one part of it is significant
SophiaSharon Larnia: awakening intuition
Eos Amaterasu: REgretfully, I must leave.
Pila Mulligan: I doubt that you can reasonably declare several millenia of comeptent observation invalid oin the basis of nuerology :0
SophiaSharon Larnia: i didnt like the point of the book, so not advocating it, but this idea was there
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, Night Eos. Good to see you.
Eos Amaterasu: Thnx for great convs, demo, presence...
Pila Mulligan: bye Eos, nice to visit with you
SophiaSharon Larnia: bye Eos!
Eliza Madrigal: :)
SophiaSharon Larnia: yes Eliza!
SophiaSharon Larnia: you are right Pila
SophiaSharon Larnia: (and LOL)
Pila Mulligan: Amazon has thres such titles, an autor plaese?
Pila Mulligan: author*
SophiaSharon Larnia: mona lisa schulz, i think it was printed in 1992
Eliza Madrigal: there is such an emphasis on posture in zen... and I really think it matters. It seems to matter a lot to how long one can sit, etc
Pila Mulligan: thnaks
Pila Mulligan: posture is very essential in meidtaiona ndlife
SophiaSharon Larnia: and keep energy flow uninterupted perhaps
Pila Mulligan: and life*
Eliza Madrigal: yes
Eliza Madrigal: age is in the spine, they say...flexibility
Pila Mulligan: well, it may be a bit ore technical
Eliza Madrigal: There is a lady in my UU buddhist group who must be 85...sits on the floor... so youthful
Pila Mulligan: chi or prana is in the spine
SophiaSharon Larnia: :)
Pila Mulligan: and radiates throough the body
Pila Mulligan: as you age and the moivement of prana slows, that can result in the aging symptoms
Eliza Madrigal: hmm
Pila Mulligan: but if the chi is present the symptoms are less worrisome
Pila Mulligan: flexibiity is the essential part
Eliza Madrigal: I like that you keep me focused on this Pila. I must thank you for bringing it up so often.
Pila Mulligan: but so is internal movement -- they are rleated
Pila Mulligan: it is my thang :)
Eliza Madrigal: :)
SophiaSharon Larnia: giggles
Eliza Madrigal: hehe
Pila Mulligan: the Chinese meditaiton is so detaile don these ideas
Pila Mulligan: and they play out so obviously in practice
Pila Mulligan: SophiaSharon, Dr. Schulz has a webiste on the subject -- http://www.soulfulliving.com/awakeningintuition.htm
SophiaSharon Larnia: while i agree with a bit that she states in the book, she does postulate that people become ill because they dont listen to their bodies
Pila Mulligan: posture and yoga and tai chi all seek to facilitate breathing and the internal flow of breath energy
SophiaSharon Larnia: ie it's your fault
Pila Mulligan: opening up a little path in one place can have reprercussions all over
SophiaSharon Larnia: this is greatly simplified of course, but thats how i see it
Pila Mulligan: and closing alittle path has the same negatively
Eliza Madrigal: Sophia, yes this is an issue I have with law of attraction type of teachings also... too simplistic
SophiaSharon Larnia: oh yes Eliza!!
SophiaSharon Larnia: this is a part of it, definately
Eliza Madrigal: direct correlations don't work so often for me....
SophiaSharon Larnia: but i think there is a reaction to the entire environment also
SophiaSharon Larnia: other people, etc etc
Eliza Madrigal: I can see a chain of events... and truthfully I do think there is something to be said for lstening to one's body... but I think it can be a trap to say __ =___
SophiaSharon Larnia: yes
SophiaSharon Larnia: so i pick up the juicy bits and make my own conclusions
Pila Mulligan: people sometime become ill because they are exposed to toxic substances
Eliza Madrigal nods
SophiaSharon Larnia: yes
Eliza Madrigal: we often want formulas
SophiaSharon Larnia: they are hard to resist
Eliza Madrigal: certainly
SophiaSharon Larnia: ive been thinking alot about what you said a month or so ago, about patterns also Eliza
Eliza Madrigal: we can learn from others' experience, and certainly there are pointers. Chakras are definitely one example
Eliza Madrigal: yes Sophia?
SophiaSharon Larnia: that we seek patterns
SophiaSharon Larnia: ill have to find the log but will take forever, dont know where to look
Eliza Madrigal: :) is okay
Eliza Madrigal: what were you thinking?
SophiaSharon Larnia: just occured to me that you were right
SophiaSharon Larnia: oh goodness
Eliza Madrigal thinks sophia just spied the time...heheh
SophiaSharon Larnia: yup how did you know???
Eliza Madrigal: hahha
SophiaSharon Larnia grins
SophiaSharon Larnia: i must go, have a great night Pila and Eliza!!!!
Eliza Madrigal: Night Sophia :) Be well
SophiaSharon Larnia: you too!
Pila Mulligan: bye SophiaSharon, nice chat
Eliza Madrigal: Are you sleepy too, Pila?
Pila Mulligan: no it is only about 6 pm here, but you are in the same time zone as SophiaSharon, Eliza -- how about you?
Eliza Madrigal: It is nearly midnight but I am wide awake :)
Pila Mulligan: still light outside here
Eliza Madrigal: Summer here... completely different schedule
Eliza Madrigal: YES! haha
Eliza Madrigal: well...here in SL is light for me
Pila Mulligan: so you don't have to get the kids up for school
Eliza Madrigal: no, and they've had friends over so are not in the least bit interested in me
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Pila Mulligan: :)
Eliza Madrigal: I've been playing most of the day
Pila Mulligan: how ?
Eliza Madrigal: here online...chat to discussion to chat...
Pila Mulligan: :)
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Pila Mulligan: was the time session the first one?
Eliza Madrigal: That is a marvelous insight re: the spine Pila...
Eliza Madrigal: really opens things for me.
Eliza Madrigal: No...had been at Pab already by that time! :)
Pila Mulligan: yes, it has me quite interested in exploring it with Threedee and others
Pila Mulligan: after the time session I took to the tractor and was mowing
Eliza Madrigal: I'm so glad to be able to stay up for these later times now... have missed Three and Ade too
Eliza Madrigal: :) Fun
Pila Mulligan: yes, I've ont been to this session for a while
Pila Mulligan: also
Eliza Madrigal: The weather must be beautiful where you are now
Eliza Madrigal: Here it is very very hot
Pila Mulligan: it is nice, it would be hot if I wer enot up on the moiuntain
Eliza Madrigal imagines being up on a mountain and sighs :)
Pila Mulligan: mid-afternoon the tractor's shift linkage that had been stiff finally went kerplunk and I called the mechanic, full of fear at what it may be
Pila Mulligan: but it was easy for him to fix and so I celebrated by coming to this session :)
Eliza Madrigal: yay!
Pila Mulligan: :)
Eliza Madrigal: Small blessings
Eliza Madrigal: like my not getting a ticket on the way home from my mother's house recently.... felt huge relief. ..would have been $300 : )
Pila Mulligan: yes, I read that in the log
Eliza Madrigal: Though... I deserved it...
Eliza Madrigal: sigh
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Pila Mulligan: guilt?
Eliza Madrigal: No... but I take note
Pila Mulligan: ahh
Eliza Madrigal: I did inch to 90... but didn't realize...
Pila Mulligan: wow
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Pila Mulligan: that is fast
Eliza Madrigal: yes... a bit too fast :)
Pila Mulligan: especially if you have not noticed :)
Pila Mulligan: maybe cool at Daytona on purpose
Eliza Madrigal: I'd put my ipod on at that point... was listening to "Homeward Bound"
Eliza Madrigal: Simon & Garfunkel.... singing... heheh
Pila Mulligan: if you were my daughter I may have some kindly advice
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Pila Mulligan: but you are my freind so I have some kindly advice
Eliza Madrigal: haha
Pila Mulligan: drive carefully ! :)
Eliza Madrigal: yes sir :)
Pila Mulligan: :)
Eliza Madrigal: I did see the getting pulled over as a wake up actually...
Eliza Madrigal: and my children have not let me forget :)
Pila Mulligan: yep
Pila Mulligan: :)
Pila Mulligan: 'mommy was bad'
Eliza Madrigal: yes!
Eliza Madrigal: and police can be merciful
Eliza Madrigal: He told them it was because I was so honest... hadn't been pulled over in almost 20 eyars :)
Pila Mulligan: police can be arbitrary in several directions
Eliza Madrigal: that too, this I do know :)
Pila Mulligan: hopefully he is an example of an honest cop for them
Eliza Madrigal: Anyway, happy that your tractor is okay....
Pila Mulligan: me too, the tractor's name iod Dexter and he is agood buddy
Eliza Madrigal: !!
Eliza Madrigal: Dexter... a reason?
Pila Mulligan: he is very dexterous
Pila Mulligan: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6K8wfyzAJQ
Eliza Madrigal: this is something I loved about being in the country for a little while.... the fields... so vast.
Eliza Madrigal: haha
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, thanks for the link :)
Pila Mulligan: got me humming the tune, so I found it
Eliza Madrigal smiling
Pila Mulligan: tractors can turn on a dime, but that also can make them unstable -- so driving carefully is then avoding tipping over
Pila Mulligan: like a tight turn on a hill
Eliza Madrigal: Do you drive the tractor more than a car?
Pila Mulligan: sometime syes
Pila Mulligan: oh, look at this one -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TqAJTCk6yHc
Pila Mulligan: :)
Pila Mulligan: way cool
Pila Mulligan: Paul Simon and Willie Nelson
Eliza Madrigal: I wondered this week whether I could acclimate to the different pace of rural life
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, good!
Pila Mulligan: I bet you could :)
Pila Mulligan: they are defintiely harmonious :)
Eliza Madrigal: I think so too... never thought so before
Pila Mulligan: it is usually more nautral
Pila Mulligan: and we came from nature to beign with :)
Eliza Madrigal: I think I had baggage tangled up with the environment there
Eliza Madrigal: and when that loosened, I found beauty
Pila Mulligan: well, try a differnt location :)
Eliza Madrigal: I had the only Obama sticker for the whole week! hahah
Pila Mulligan: not all rural places are the same
Pila Mulligan: :)
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Pila Mulligan: yep
Pila Mulligan: I love Willie Nelson
Eliza Madrigal: he's a character...authentic
Pila Mulligan: yes, authentic
Pila Mulligan: okay, now I am on a music binge
Eliza Madrigal: hehe..fine by me :)
Pila Mulligan: A Song For You Ray Charles Leon Russell Willie Nelson
Pila Mulligan: http://www.wat.tv/video/song-for-you...9x_1bv2q_.html
Eliza Madrigal: Ooh nice, Pila.
Pila Mulligan: http://video.google.com/videosearch?...8&sa=N&tab=iv#
Pila Mulligan: the first link did not work for me
Pila Mulligan: but it plays okay from google
Pila Mulligan: music really soothes my soul
Eliza Madrigal: The first worked for me
Eliza Madrigal swaying
Pila Mulligan: ahh, not sure -- maybe the slow connection here kept it form starting
Pila Mulligan: :)
Pila Mulligan: i saw Willie and Leon live in a concert on Maui several years ago -- it was uplifting
Pila Mulligan: they really ha dfun too
Pila Mulligan: had fun*
Eliza Madrigal: ah...the piano in this is lovely
Pila Mulligan: yes it is
Pila Mulligan: Ray Charles
Eliza Madrigal: feels the need to applaud :)
Pila Mulligan: :)
Eliza Madrigal: I have a newer song that I love...
Pila Mulligan: yes, but smiling is enuf for me
Pila Mulligan: whatis it?
Eliza Madrigal: from the film "Once"...
Eliza Madrigal: one moment...
Pila Mulligan: is that the name, 'Once'
Eliza Madrigal: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=938XY6DX02w
Eliza Madrigal: yes
Eliza Madrigal: The song won the Oscar last year... very sweet
Eliza Madrigal: the commentary at the beginning wasn't quite something I was looking for though...heheh
Pila Mulligan: but it is funny
Eliza Madrigal: hehe..yes
Eliza Madrigal: the film itself is funny... quirky
Eliza Madrigal: but nice
Pila Mulligan: lovely song
Pila Mulligan: won an Oscar -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falling_Slowly
Eliza Madrigal: I've listened to this soundtrack a hundred times by now... just fell in love with it
Pila Mulligan: did yuo see the film?
Eliza Madrigal: yes
Eliza Madrigal: I was one of maybe ten people in the theature
Eliza Madrigal: theatre
Pila Mulligan: ah, missed this earlier: [21:24] Eliza Madrigal: The song won the Oscar last year... very sweet :)
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: The friend that I took to the film hasn't forgiven me though... she found it tedious but I didn't :)
Pila Mulligan: :)
Pila Mulligan: it looks like classic romance
Eliza Madrigal: He is the leader of a band called The Frames...some nice things
Pila Mulligan: yep, readng about the film - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Once_(film)
Eliza Madrigal: it is and isn't...not typical
Pila Mulligan: the song has a nice Celtic tone to it
Eliza Madrigal: I tend to like singer/songwriters... even if with 'imperfect' voices and such...would rather have that
Eliza Madrigal: yes
Pila Mulligan: ""I had been falling in love with her for a long time, but I kept telling myself she's just a kid," says Hansard, 37, who has known his 19-year-old costar for the past six years."
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: Her voice can be absolutely devastating
Eliza Madrigal: there are songs... so sensitive
Pila Mulligan: now this is funny: "Hansard says that ad-libbing produced the moment where Irglova's character tells the Guy in unsubtitled Czech, "I love you," but when it was shot, he didn't know what she'd said, just like his character."
Pila Mulligan: SophiaSharon!
