    nanomilano Resident: pema ?
nanomilano Resident: are u a master samurai ?
oO0Oo Resident: Pema is the founder sure, but always seems young to me. Pila is a member.. and a nice and wise being. Samurai? What gave you that idea?
nanomilano Resident: because your name Samúo
nanomilano Resident: i have christmas holidays this week
    nanomilano Resident: and u ?
nanomilano Resident: what brings u here ?
    nanomilano Resident: just silence ?
oO0Oo Resident: Well, actually my name is Samúð.. just a superficial similarity to the word Samurai. Oh nice! Christmas holidays. I am neither on holiday from something, nor on holiday for something.
oO0Oo Resident: I enjoy PaB.. for many reasons.. It seems new each time.
    nanomilano Resident: sure
    nanomilano Resident: me too
nanomilano Resident: ppl just communicate with much respect
    nanomilano Resident: here
nanomilano Resident: and i like that
nanomilano Resident: maybe u are buddhist or taoist or noist
oO0Oo Resident: I find politeness, respect and kindness.. very appealing
    nanomilano Resident: nothingist
oO0Oo Resident: well, part of the aspect of PaB for me is to see what I am, after dropping the labels of what I think I have
nanomilano Resident: is there the fish of ... blub ?
nanomilano Resident: so i can help u maybe in discovering yourself ?
oO0Oo Resident: There is a member who has a fish named Blub
    nanomilano Resident: if u like
nanomilano Resident: sure but i cannoot remember his name
nanomilano Resident: it was a friend of betram

oO0Oo Resident: what interests you Nano?
nanomilano Resident: all kinds of things or thoughts
    nanomilano Resident: and u ?
nanomilano Resident: now i am interested in ESA space discovery by Andre Kuipers
nanomilano Resident: in the ISS space laboratory for 6 monyhs
    nanomilano Resident: months
nanomilano Resident: but i also like the streetlife of barcelona

    --BELL--

nanomilano Resident: and u what interests u ?
oO0Oo Resident: Andre Kuipers: http://is.gd/gumuOd [for the log]
oO0Oo Resident: I would like to say my interest is in all things as well, but in reality, my interests form a subset of all things.. I have a short life, and also.. preferences I find in the end ;)
nanomilano Resident: sure thnx fot the link
    nanomilano Resident: for
nanomilano Resident: ok in the end we all have to make choices
oO0Oo Resident: well even preferences.. that is interesting ::laughs::
nanomilano Resident: what do you think as short ?
oO0Oo Resident: I'm sorry.. I do not understand your question
nanomilano Resident: our lives are much longer than our predecessors
nanomilano Resident: so short life what is short ?
nanomilano Resident: relatively short maybe ?
nanomilano Resident: or much active life seems short
oO0Oo Resident: Oh with respect to our lifespan.. yes.. short in terms of what perhaps can be explored and or known by a human, based on my experience of it.
    nanomilano Resident: ok
    oO0Oo Resident: For instance
oO0Oo Resident: I was thinking of what it must take to become an astornaut
nanomilano Resident: when we learn or discover we already see what we dont know
nanomilano Resident: but we dont need to become an astronaut
oO0Oo Resident: I'm not sure we see as much as we think.. I feel there can be blindspots
nanomilano Resident: we can use the discoveries of ESA and NASA
oO0Oo Resident: Yes.. made as a collective we benefit
    nanomilano Resident: sure blindspots exist
nanomilano Resident: thats why the grass benefits from its grazers
    nanomilano Resident: collective evoluation
nanomilano Resident: well i go further again ,
    nanomilano Resident: bye samurai
oO0Oo Resident: the layers of interconnection.. co-evolving.. scaling to the proximal, and the distant.. interesting
    nanomilano Resident: thanks for talking
    nanomilano Resident: and listening
oO0Oo Resident: Oh! You are leaving.. OK
    nanomilano Resident: yes
    oO0Oo Resident: Pleasure
    nanomilano Resident: bye
oO0Oo Resident: Nice to see you.
    nanomilano Resident: thnx
    Alfred Kelberry: sam :)
    oO0Oo Resident: Hi Boxy :)
    Alfred Kelberry: lone contemplation? :)
oO0Oo Resident: You are most welcome :)
    Alfred Kelberry: thank you :)
Alfred Kelberry: i sort of "contemplate" myself. in rl :)

    --BELL--

oO0Oo Resident: [asking Boxy about advanced search in the MindTouch wiki.. in IM]
    Alfred Kelberry: ah
oO0Oo Resident: . [01:44] Samúð (oo0oo): Hi Alfred, I was trying to disover what scope the search functionality of the PaB MindTouch wiki.. and read about an advanced search module. Cal said it was installed, but was not sure if it was functioning. Also there is meant to be a GUI to expose the advanced search. Workable? [01:45] Samúð (oo0oo): http://is.gd/bicMPD Any idea of the current scope of search and whether this advanced search is possible? Cal said this is part of your current role?
oO0Oo Resident: I'm not sure what syntax is supported currently. I know very little about how the wiki is set up.
oO0Oo Resident: Does it vary depending on whether one is logged in or not for instance?
Alfred Kelberry: it does apply user permissions, yes
Alfred Kelberry: the search does support advanced options
Alfred Kelberry: try author:"alfred kelberry" and you'll see my pages
oO0Oo Resident: is that available to guardians then, and only when logged in or..?
    Alfred Kelberry: to anyone
    Alfred Kelberry: yet permissions applied
oO0Oo Resident: what are the permissions based upon.. who sets them?
Alfred Kelberry: if there are pages only for guardians they won't be returned for an anonymous query
    Alfred Kelberry: wiki members
    oO0Oo Resident: i see

    --BELL--

oO0Oo Resident: the advanced search options on the page I refered seem quite powerful. Would be helpful if indeed they do work. Maybe just some of them.
Alfred Kelberry: this is a common syntax provided by lucene: http://lucene.apache.org/java/2_9_1/queryparsersyntax.html
oO0Oo Resident: When I search the phrase "hello boxy" I get only 60 results, which seems low, and while the pages have a label which suggests the search phrase will be highlighted.. it is not.. (for me anyway)
oO0Oo Resident: The following search returns 10 results: "hello boxy" AND "hello wol"
oO0Oo Resident: assuming the boolean 'AND' operator
oO0Oo Resident: Maybe only a small subset of pages are exposed to the search module. Perhaps some are archived.
oO0Oo Resident: I wonder what G00GLE sees in comparison
oO0Oo Resident: G00GLE sees 17 results for the later search
    oO0Oo Resident: still seems low
oO0Oo Resident notices Boxy is away
