Eliza Madrigal: Hi Doug
Tarmel Udimo: the topic you are discussing in WOK sounds very gd -
Eliza Madrigal: Yes, I like it :)
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
doug Sosa: please go ahead.
Tarmel Udimo: Do you find that you are chained to being the person you have been in the past?
doug Sosa: we do go through life together. I kind of likehim.
Pila Mulligan: :)
Tarmel Udimo: yes my and my past selves have many chats and many battles
Tarmel Udimo: *me
Pila Mulligan: but in some cases we may benefit by becoming less entangled with past exoeriences
Bertram Jacobus: (what is WOK, please?) ...
Pila Mulligan: experiences*
Tarmel Udimo: Gaya?
Pila Mulligan: Kira Ways of Knowing Workshop
Gaya Ethaniel: Yes?

--BELL--
sophia Placebo: greetings
Gaya Ethaniel: Hello sophia :)
Pila Mulligan: hi Sophia [90 sec pause]
sophia Placebo looking at the peacefull thoughtfull folks around the fountine
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Sophia :)
Bertram Jacobus: hello sophia ... :-)+
Tarmel Udimo: Hi Sophia
Stim Morane: hi Sophia
Scathach Rhiadra: Hello Sophia
Gaya Ethaniel: What kind of chats and battles are there Tarmel? Any favourites?
Gaya Ethaniel: ... or epic sagas heheheh
Tarmel Udimo: those pas selves are reminders of where we have 'grown' from but I would be happy for them to quietly disperse into nothing their original form
Tarmel Udimo: well you know its pretty constant
Tarmel Udimo: its more about attitude and staying away from the negative voices
Pila Mulligan: :)
Gaya Ethaniel listens.
Tarmel Udimo: I was hoping others would talk too...:)
Gaya Ethaniel nods nods.
Pila Mulligan: touchy area, eh
Tarmel Udimo: not touchy just dealing with it
Pila Mulligan: my worst old voice is from being in the military, in the 60's
Pila Mulligan: love to say aloha to that
Gaya Ethaniel: ah :)
Tarmel Udimo: I sometimes do visualisations where I try to peel them away
Gaya Ethaniel thinks she will greet her 'friends' aloha from now on.
Tarmel Udimo: those would be very large and loud voices Pila:)
Pila Mulligan: they weaken over time
Pila Mulligan: but they are persistent
doug Sosa: I still hold on to the feeling that i can meet the people in the past and have a redeeming moment.
Bertram Jacobus: i don´t hear nearly any old voices. and when, they spund like children ...
Pila Mulligan: it sometimes works as such for me to, Doug
Bertram Jacobus: sound*
Tarmel Udimo: yes that works for me too doug
Gaya Ethaniel: I don't quite understand that sentence doug. Could you phrase it in another way please?
doug Sosa: hm, old lovers. good to meet and talk it through now... but they are gone..
Bertram Jacobus: hello alexandra ... :-)
Stim Morane: hi Alexandra
sophia Placebo: hi alexandra
Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Alexandra :)
doug Sosa: perhaps every morning it would be good to ask "who is around?" and have a conversation with them, till its done.
Pila Mulligan: kind of PaB
Tarmel Udimo: yes that sounds lke a good method
Gaya Ethaniel: ah :)
Bertram Jacobus: take a seat if you like alexandra ... :-)
Hana Furlough: hi alexandra
doug Sosa: who is around being those whose actual present is no more for us, but they hover as spirits, easily imagined, or easily just appearing.
Eliza Madrigal: This morning in the mail, came a letter from a friend I've known since preschool... someone who was like a twin to me for many years.. someone I still feel connected to but haven't seen/spoken to in years. She cannot reconcile my not being "Christian" since at one time (more than 16 years ago) we were very involved within that paradigm together, and very 'sincere'. She does not understand. She is chained in some ways, to our past, or the picture she has of me. Her paradigm does not allow for me to change and our still to be close/intimate friends. :( But obviously she misses me or she wouldn't write :)
Eliza Madrigal: (Sory so long)
Alexandra Sharkfin: I just dropped by for a second
Pila Mulligan: so sweet and sor ELiza
Pila Mulligan: sour*
Eliza Madrigal: I've spent a few hours today responding to her... asking to speak from heart rather than conditions
Gaya Ethaniel: Perhaps it needs time for adjustment Eliza.
Eliza Madrigal: We'll see I suppose :)
Hana Furlough: that sounds like a tough situation, eliza
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Eliza Madrigal: Tough, but she did write :)
Bertram Jacobus: np alex :-)
Tarmel Udimo: yes from the heart always best Eliza:)
Hana Furlough: yeah that is a wonderful thing!
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: Just sharing
Gaya Ethaniel: Thank you :)
Alexandra Sharkfin: thanks everone, I'll be around soon
--BELL--
Tarmel Udimo: even with friends that we are 'in tune' with, its difficult to be seen in a new light
Eliza Madrigal: yes
Eliza Madrigal: !!
Bertram Jacobus: or especially with friends ...
Tarmel Udimo: yes
Tarmel Udimo: which is one of the reasons I have been looking at how I communicate lately
Tarmel Udimo: it is sometimes difficult to be really clear
Eliza Madrigal: yes, I agree
Tarmel Udimo: but the clearer I am the freer I am
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, nice!
Eliza Madrigal needs work..hehe
Gaya Ethaniel: With people who meet frequently, incremental changes go often unnoticed.
Tarmel Udimo: it takes tremendous effort:)
Hana Furlough: yes it does
Tarmel Udimo: yes Gaya I agree
Eliza Madrigal: True Gaya
Pila Mulligan: maybe you and your old friend should have lunch together, Eliza
Bertram Jacobus: i found today something which in german people sometimes call "a place of power" (don´t know wheather such an idiom exosts in english too or wheather that is to be understood) . and it´s a place from former times, too. i was very happy and astonished, to experience that like this
Eliza Madrigal: :) Pila, we're in diff states now... but yes maybe it would be worth it if our writing goes well :)
Pila Mulligan: :)
Eliza Madrigal: :)Thanks
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Pila Mulligan: a physical, geogrpahic location Bertram?
Bertram Jacobus: hello santosh ... :-)
Tarmel Udimo: agree with Pila, but also to be prepared to "let her go":)
Gaya Ethaniel: Hello santhosh :)
Stim Morane: hi santhosh
Bertram Jacobus: yes pila :-)
Tarmel Udimo: would you like to say more Bertram about 'the place of power'?
santhosh Brucato: hello
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Santosh
Hana Furlough: hi santosh~
Pila Mulligan: sounds like what Hawaiians call a wahi pana
Tarmel Udimo: Hi Santhosh
Scathach Rhiadra: Hello Santosh
Eliza Madrigal: wahi pana?
santhosh Brucato: hi................
sophia Placebo: see you later all
Gaya Ethaniel: Bye sophia :)
Pila Mulligan: bye Sophia
Scathach Rhiadra: bye sophia
santhosh Brucato: hi eliza
Hana Furlough: bye sophia
Stim Morane: bye sophia
Tarmel Udimo: bye sophia
Bertram Jacobus: yes tarmel : it´s a place where we were more then 30 years ago a lot in a park ... and when i today went to that place - it was so easy to meditate there and i got very easy great ideas and such things. even when i left, i felt quite changed ...
Tarmel Udimo: OK
Eliza Madrigal: How intereting Bertram :)
Eliza Madrigal: *interesting
Pila Mulligan: Eliza, in Hawaiian wahi = place and pana = celebrated -- together meaning a special place
Eliza Madrigal: Ahh :) Thanks
Bertram Jacobus: it was very strong and very surprising. i never experienced something like that before. and it comes, as said, also out of the old days ...
Johny Weissberg: hi all
Hana Furlough: whatdo you mean by old days?
Bertram Jacobus: hi johny ... :-)
Hana Furlough: hi johny
Eliza Madrigal: So you felt you received power/energy from the place/past, Bertram?
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Johny
Scathach Rhiadra: hello Johny
Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Johny :)
Stim Morane: hi johny
Tarmel Udimo: Hi Johny
Bertram Jacobus: i don´t know, where it came from, but the spontaneous idea was, that it came from that place. but may be also, my thoughts and mind made that (?) ...
Bertram Jacobus: and old days ... i don´t know how good that is - it was the time of psychedelics and such stuff. helped, but one shouldn´t be stucked to that i guess ... hm
Eliza Madrigal: hahah
Tarmel Udimo: grins
Hana Furlough: i see
Bertram Jacobus: ;o)
Wol Euler: hello all, sorry I'm late
Pila Mulligan: hello Wol
Bertram Jacobus: hello wol ... :-)
Stim Morane: Hi Wol
Scathach Rhiadra: Hello Wol
Hana Furlough: so can you describe your experience a little more?
Johny Weissberg: hi wol
Hana Furlough: hi wol
Gaya Ethaniel: Mum :)
Tarmel Udimo: hey Wol
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Wol :)
--BELL--
Bertram Jacobus: i can give an example : i read beside other things i did there - a buddhistic book. and at once i found a total new idea what meditation is. i searched for yeras already with this question. and a wonderful answer was : it is - awareness (!) ...
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Pila Mulligan: so that was where you became aware :)
Bertram Jacobus: may be lol :-D
Johny Weissberg: or is maditation a way to achieve awareness ?
Tarmel Udimo: so you 'experienced' the answer rather than had thoughts about it:)
Bertram Jacobus: could be said too i guess johny
Bertram Jacobus: hello shayama ... :-)
Hana Furlough: hi shy
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Shyama :)
Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Shyama :)
Scathach Rhiadra: Hello shyama
Bertram Jacobus: thats right tarmel - it felt like that
Johny Weissberg: hi shyama¨
Wol Euler: hello shy
Stim Morane: Hi Shyama
Tarmel Udimo: Hi Shyama
Tarmel Udimo: isn't it wonderful when that happens? makes the whole struggle worth it!
Wol Euler smiles
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Bertram Jacobus: :-)
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Bertram Jacobus: (my smilies have noses!) :o)
Gaya Ethaniel: Yes Bertram, nice to have high Western noses I'm sure. :)
Tarmel Udimo: so now you have experienced being aware, the next step is to make it a continum:)
Pila Mulligan: :)
Bertram Jacobus: yes. i work on it tarmel
Tarmel Udimo: good luck!:)))))))))))))))))))
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Bertram Jacobus: tyvm. much help at the moment as it seems. also from pab
Pila Mulligan: and having a special place is valuable
Bertram Jacobus: yes pila - like a gift (a big one)
Pila Mulligan: :)
Tarmel Udimo: nods agree
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Eliza Madrigal: Ritual can be so important, so liberating in some ways (like having a special place to meditate, write, etc) but also trapping potentially?
Pila Mulligan: I'd say ritual *may* have pitfall potential
Eliza Madrigal: I suppose only if one gets 'stuck' there like "I can't meditate today because I can't get to my place"
Wol Euler nods. Depends whether you see it as an encouragement or a necessity.
Hana Furlough: or i can't be aware because i didn't meditate in my place today
Eliza Madrigal: yes!
Gaya Ethaniel nods.
Tarmel Udimo: nods
Bertram Jacobus: what about thinkin positive ? ;-)
Tarmel Udimo: and yet one is attempting to be in that state wherever one is:)
Eliza Madrigal: yes :)
Bertram Jacobus: hello mary ... :-)

Bertram Jacobus: i have no idea. i don´t feel bad with my speed. only sometimes it seems not to fit ;-)
Wol Euler: well, there are all kinds of ways and reasons not to fit.
Wol Euler: life isn't a race.

Bertram Jacobus: you came late today wol ... :-)
Wol Euler: mmhmm, I was distracted by something very important

Wol Euler grins.
Wol Euler: I was buying sexy boots.

Bertram Jacobus: uh

Wol Euler: Ive been looking for a pair like this for months now.
Bertram Jacobus: i´m impressed ! :-)
Wol Euler: they're scripted too!
Wol Euler: fitting and colours and bits all changeable
Bertram Jacobus: what does that mean - scripted ? they have features ?
