The Guardian for this meeting was Eliza Madrigal. The comments are by Eliza Madrigal.

I was alone at the pavillion for a half hour. Then Qt arrived and we chit-chatted about sleep habits, tech glitches, and the song lyrics which give this log its title...

    Qt Core: hi
    --BELL--
Eliza Madrigal: (Hi Qt-just now seeing you)
Qt Core: np, just got there
Eliza Madrigal: How are you today?
Qt Core: good, but it seem i'm late in everything i'm doing today ;-) You ?
    Eliza Madrigal smiles
    Eliza Madrigal: Today, I'm early
Eliza Madrigal: but I've had a pattern of setting out one thing for the day, and doing something completely different, for a while :)
Qt Core: luckily my plan for this vacation is going well, it is made up from one word only.... sleep ;-)
    Eliza Madrigal: Ahhhh
Eliza Madrigal: A good plan :)
Eliza Madrigal: I read recently that we 'can' actually make up for sleep
Eliza Madrigal: It was thought for a while that we didn't, or at least that had been the message I heard
Qt Core: i really hope we can, i have big sleep debts lately
Eliza Madrigal: Exciting projects keeping you awake?
Qt Core: no, just family issues
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, that will do it also. Hope all is 'okay'
Qt Core: a little better in last couple months, ty
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: Over the summer, I found myself at a few of the (for me) 4AM sessions... just found myself up wandering as though sleep was a foreign substance my body was rejecting...hehe
Eliza Madrigal: I have all idea it is just a matter of schedules and hope to get into a better routine
Eliza Madrigal: but funny how as we get older it becomes such a wonderful thing to be able to sleep all night :)
Qt Core: is not sleep eluding me it is just things to do before going to sleep that keeps becoming longer and longer
    Eliza Madrigal: Ah :)
Qt Core: even if doing it for many month as lowered my (can't call it sleep need) usual slept hours
    Qt Core: ... months has...
Eliza Madrigal: Funny how some need so little sleep...4-6 hrs a night
Eliza Madrigal: and some so many
    Eliza Madrigal: seems genetic
Qt Core: i think it is mostly cultural, especially being used to awoke early or at a specific hour
Eliza Madrigal: Hm, yes I'm sure that's the case too
Qt Core: growing up with parents that thinks that awaking at 8.30 am on sat . and sunday is late help ;-)
    Eliza Madrigal: hahah
    Eliza Madrigal: Yes!
Eliza Madrigal: My mother was certainly like that... up very early every day.
Eliza Madrigal: Then she went into nursing and her schedules were toyed with in a major way
    --BELL--
Eliza Madrigal: Now she is basically nocturnal :) So that rather confirms your idea that it is a highly cultural thing. Hmmm
Qt Core: but sometimes i really like to wander or just read (in bed or at the pc) in sat. and sunday morning before others wake up (or just do the same in another room)
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, yes weekend mornings :)

    Shopping Malls...

Eliza Madrigal: The feeling of being out and about before everyone else is a fun one... walking the neighorhood, etc
Qt Core: before the shopping mall hell call us ;-)
    Eliza Madrigal: hahah, nods
Eliza Madrigal: I'm not a fan of malls either, but before school we do seem to spend a lot of time in them :)
Eliza Madrigal: I've been working on 'enjoying' even the mall
Eliza Madrigal: ... not trying to let myself think about the book near the bed.. or the computer... what's going on at PaB...heheh
Qt Core: i just enter, go to the general store, buy and go out evading the people asking me to change phone operator
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, I have teenage daughters. If we enter the mall, we're there for a while...
Eliza Madrigal: while my son looks at me with agony in his eyes "Oh Please!"
Qt Core: i just go to a mall that has no bookstores in it , if not i will be the one staying there for hours
Eliza Madrigal smiles.... yes that's a good way to manage it too "You go find what you need and I'll browse here" :)
Eliza Madrigal: Before the 'downturn' it seems that malls were taking over my area
Eliza Madrigal: so though it is difficult to consider, I am happy there has been some slowing
    Eliza Madrigal: too much concrete!

    Beasty Sunday...

Qt Core: i just remembered these liric from a song: if only you know, my love \how much i love to depart from Milan \ when she [milan] still sleeps \ see her sleepy and notice she is beautiful \ before she start to scream and run
    Eliza Madrigal: Oh My!
Eliza Madrigal: What is the song?
Qt Core: it is italian, Domenica bestiale.... Beasty sunday
Qt Core: a tale about him going to the lake with his love
    Eliza Madrigal: what an image
Eliza Madrigal: especially considering the stillness of the morning before the chaos begins...
Qt Core: very sweet in spite of the title ;-)
    Eliza Madrigal: yes, funny title
Qt Core: (not my kind of song but i like it)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: This, is a rather still morning... maybe can take that through the day
Eliza Madrigal: (for me, now sure what time it is for you?)
    --BELL--
    Eliza Madrigal: *not
    Qt Core: 17
    Qt Core: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7xvjXc5kmk
    Qt Core: (the song)
    Qt Core: op
Eliza Madrigal: yes, listening... very nice to dance to
Eliza Madrigal: thanks... and might help you to feel restful as the evening goes on, so you sleep well :)
Qt Core: :-) yes, it has a quite happy in a quiet way feeling
Eliza Madrigal: Now, the title seems even more odd... such a calm song
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Qt Core: Bestiale (beasty) could be used sometimes as great but to a even bigger degree
    Eliza Madrigal: Ah, that helps
    Eliza Madrigal: Grand or writ-large?
Qt Core: not often, the title stil is a little weird ;-)
    Eliza Madrigal: hahah

Tech will surely solve Everything? <wink>

Eliza Madrigal cannot wait until language chips are purchaseable
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Qt Core: i'd like to see proven or disproven my idea about transmitting an idea electric schema from a brain to another and see if the reciever get it
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, me too certainly
Qt Core: same or different mother language brains too
Eliza Madrigal: Sometimes something seems so obvious that it is a wonder it doesn't happen in a snap
Qt Core: then we could even hack others brain... <evil >
Eliza Madrigal: haha...yes but perhaps then we'd be hacking our owns at the same time...
    Eliza Madrigal: *own
Eliza Madrigal: I thought recently that I put a lot of faith in leaps and flashes...
Eliza Madrigal: and that can be a crutch
Eliza Madrigal: like a coping mechanism ... one isn't guaranteed leaps and flashes after all
Eliza Madrigal: but important to consider/factor them in some sense
Qt Core: well revolutions are needed , but nowadays they seem to be expected, like pizzas you may order
    Eliza Madrigal: yes exactly
    Eliza Madrigal: embarrassment of riches
    --BELL--
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Eliza Madrigal: Ah, sorry... phone
    Qt Core: np
Eliza Madrigal: Ah...best buy coming to fix issues with the wireless today
Eliza Madrigal: but their computer froze while on the phone with me! :)))
Qt Core: i had a couple problem with my wifi router too.... both time the cable was a little just a litle out of his place the first time from one end and the other the other end (inside the network apparatus)
Qt Core: (made me feel/like a fool)
    --BELL--
Eliza Madrigal: :)little things can cause big trip ups ...
Qt Core: i even thought a storm fried my access point
    Eliza Madrigal nods
Eliza Madrigal: We changed companies recently because they kept coming out to fix 'my' computer...even though the whole neighborhood was out...
Eliza Madrigal: the right hand and left hand weren't speaking... so tedious
Qt Core: then in a day i was less lazy than usual i made a couple experiment and got it ;-)
    Eliza Madrigal: hahah
Eliza Madrigal: Yes, my daughters have been upset about sharing the computer, so you can't imagine all we've tried to do on our own
Eliza Madrigal: and we called so many people... so pricey to small questions
    Eliza Madrigal: *ask
Qt Core: all their secrets just a copuple of click away from mum fingers ;-)
    Eliza Madrigal smiles
Eliza Madrigal: Well it turns out well.... stronger router and everything hooked to the printer finally...will be great
    Eliza Madrigal: I hope :)
Qt Core: printer, my weak point, i always fight with them since i discovered computers some 20 years ago
    Eliza Madrigal nods
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Hana!
    Qt Core: hi Hana
    Qt Core: O k
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, just passing through
Eliza Madrigal: I should be going also... clean up a bit before they get here
Eliza Madrigal: Nice to have company this morning Qt
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Qt Core: ok, have fun ;-)
    Eliza Madrigal: Sleep well! :D
    Qt Core: it was nice
Eliza Madrigal: yes :) Bye for now
    </evil>
