The Guardian for this meeting was Fael Illyar. The comments are by Fael Illyar.

    Fael Illyar: Hi Agatha :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Here I am!
    Fael Illyar smiles.
Agatha Macbeth: Ah, a pink look today
Fael Illyar: Yes, pink fairy :)
Agatha Macbeth: There was a band called the Pink Faries
    Agatha Macbeth: Fairies
Fael Illyar: oh, what kind of band?
Agatha Macbeth: From what I remember they were a sort of grunge outfit
    Fael Illyar: ah 1970
    Agatha Macbeth: I think
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh that long?
Agatha Macbeth: Wow I thought they were more recent than that
    Fael Illyar smiles.
Fael Illyar: I like you dress, elegant :)
Agatha Macbeth: Yes, it's called Tsarina, from Avid :)
Agatha Macbeth: It has a skirt which goes with it but it's rather big
    Agatha Macbeth: I'll show you
    Fael Illyar: Yes :)
Agatha Macbeth: See what I mean?
Fael Illyar: it looks like it'd work even when seated though :)
    Agatha Macbeth: I'll try
    Agatha Macbeth: Hmmm
Fael Illyar: I've got a new AO :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh yes?
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah, twirly!
Fael Illyar: not just twirly :P
    --BELL--
    Agatha Macbeth: Mmm
Fael Illyar: but turns are twirly :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Sure are!
Agatha Macbeth: That really is a pretty outfit
    Fael Illyar smiles 'Thank you.'
Agatha Macbeth: And the wings too, of course
Agatha Macbeth: go really well with it
    Fael Illyar: yes :)
Fael Illyar: sitting hides it under the floor though :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Aww
    Fael Illyar: Hi Love :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Here comes Arch!
    Agatha Macbeth: Hi there :)
Agatha Macbeth: Hope my skirt isn't in the way :)
    Archmage Atlantis: Hi, Agatha
Fael Illyar: kind of silent for sunday 7am :)
    Archmage Atlantis: Hello, Love
Archmage Atlantis: There were only 2 of us last night
Agatha Macbeth: perhaps they're all in Malta ;-)
Fael Illyar: ah, did it start already?
    Agatha Macbeth: Today I think
Agatha Macbeth: But some had already arrived yesterday
Agatha Macbeth: Do you have this slot permanently Fael?
    Fael Illyar: yep
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah, good
Fael Illyar: until further notice ;)
    Fael Illyar: not permanent :P
Agatha Macbeth: It used to be Adams did it not?
    Fael Illyar: yes :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Mmm
Fael Illyar: It was very inspiring in the beginning to see Pema manning tens of sessions himself :)
Agatha Macbeth: Well that's Pema for you
Agatha Macbeth: Were you in PaB from the beginning then?
Fael Illyar: From the end of May 2008
Agatha Macbeth: So pretty much from the start the
    Agatha Macbeth: then
Fael Illyar: I think Pema began it April 1st 2008
Fael Illyar: yes, pretty much from the start
Agatha Macbeth: How has it changed/evolved in your opinion?
Fael Illyar: at first it was 3 sessions a day, no 1AM session though
Fael Illyar: then Pema went to Japan and asked people for help handling the 7pm sessions
Fael Illyar: and took 1am sessions on the schedule too
    Agatha Macbeth: Yes
Fael Illyar: The most significant change ... to me is that Pema is present quite a bit less.
Archmage Atlantis: Do either of you know how it was determined who would be invited to Malta? And what the agenda there consists of?
Agatha Macbeth: Yes, I noticed that too
Agatha Macbeth: No idea, to be honest
Agatha Macbeth: Dunno if Fael knows more
Fael Illyar: There's been emails on the guardian mailing list
Fael Illyar: pretty much any guardian who could afford it and wanted to come.
    Agatha Macbeth: Right
Fael Illyar: with possibly 1 or 2 getting sponsored... not sure if that happened.
    Archmage Atlantis: And the agenda?
Agatha Macbeth: I guess it's OK if you like that sort of thing
    --BELL--
Fael Illyar: there's emails going on already about the next retreat next summer.
Fael Illyar: I haven't paid much attention to the agenda actually :)
Fael Illyar: As far as I'm aware, not much of a set agenda. Except that it is a retreat in that communication devices are either not brought to the place or kept off.
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah
Fael Illyar: and of course, participants are expected to do the 9 second breaks.
Fael Illyar: I don't think there is a set agenda other than that.
Archmage Atlantis: Fael, what do you consider the "purpose" of PaB?
Agatha Macbeth: A good question :)
Fael Illyar: purpose? ... I'll have to think about that :)
Agatha Macbeth: Does it have a 'purpose' as such?
Archmage Atlantis: If I ask you the same question, Agatha, how would you answer?
Agatha Macbeth: I think it's down to each individual as to what he/she is looking for
Agatha Macbeth: If indeed they are looking for anything....
Archmage Atlantis: Restating that, PaB was created to allow each individual to explore their own agenda?.......
    Agatha Macbeth: Could be
Fael Illyar: I think that could be quite accurate.
Fael Illyar: although, I would use the word "help" instead of "allow"
    Agatha Macbeth: nods
Agatha Macbeth: I guess a lot comes down to what Pem intended when he started it all
    Archmage Atlantis: Better word, true.....
Archmage Atlantis: Yes, and what did Pema intend?
Fael Illyar: What he told me is that he got this idea of 9 second micromeditation and wanted to have people doing it too so he could compare notes.
Fael Illyar: and of course, Stim encouraged him to go forward with a group.
Archmage Atlantis: That sounds plausible, not complete, but plausible
    Fael Illyar: Hi Eliza :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Hello Eliza :)
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Fael! You look beautiful
Fael Illyar smiles 'Thank you Eliza.
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Agatha... don't see you yet
    Agatha Macbeth: I'm here!
    Agatha Macbeth: waves
    Archmage Atlantis: Hello again Eliza
Eliza Madrigal: Yes, I do read you... heh...
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Arch :)
    Fael Illyar: ah, bells :)
Agatha Macbeth: The bells, the bells....
Eliza Madrigal: Back by popular demand...
    Agatha Macbeth: Hee hee
    Eliza Madrigal smiles
    Fael Illyar smiles.
Eliza Madrigal: Great tag, Agatha Cloud
    Agatha Macbeth: TY :)
    Fael Illyar: tag?
Archmage Atlantis: Back due to inate inability to convert SL time
    Archmage Atlantis: :)
Eliza Madrigal: Don't let me sidetrack the conversation though :)
Agatha Macbeth: The thing over my head Fael ;-)
Eliza Madrigal: Fael, Agatha reads "Unreal but here"
Archmage Atlantis: Thought there was another meeting at this time
    --BELL--
Fael Illyar: I can't see anything reading Agatha Cloud there.
Agatha Macbeth: I'm gonna take this skirt off.....
Fael Illyar: I do see "Unreal but here"
    Agatha Macbeth: Yep :)
Archmage Atlantis: I don't see "unreal but there", I do see Agatha Macbeth
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh
    Agatha Macbeth: Strange
    Fael Illyar: lag then :)
    Archmage Atlantis: Different viewers, maybe?
Agatha Macbeth: Can you see me yet Eliza?
Eliza Madrigal: Perhaps... and yes lag is a factor today (No Agatha, both you and Arch are clouds)
Fael Illyar: the group tags can be hidden so they don't show at all from preferences
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah
Eliza Madrigal: Bummer when that happens... spend all kinds of time and lindens to look fabulous and then have a bad cloud day
    Eliza Madrigal giggles
    Agatha Macbeth: Yeah :(
Archmage Atlantis: Eliza, the topic was what each individual would describe as the "purpose" of PaB
    Fael Illyar smiles.
    Eliza Madrigal: Oooh Interesting Arch
    Eliza Madrigal: What was said?
Eliza Madrigal smiles and gasps at Fael's twirling
    Fael Illyar smiles.
Eliza Madrigal: Purpose is such a loaded term...
Agatha Macbeth: Prehaps 'purpose' was the wrong word
    Agatha Macbeth: Intention maybe?
Eliza Madrigal: like purpose everyone brings themselves?
Agatha Macbeth: Is something like Pab intended to have a 'goal' so to speak?
Fael Illyar: Arch came up with that PaB exists to help each individual explore their own agenda.
Agatha Macbeth: Which I pretty much agreed with
    Fael Illyar: me too
Eliza Madrigal: Thank you for the note, Arch... reading...
Archmage Atlantis: There is the conversation Eliza.....did I do that better, Fael?......no pasting gobs of text :)
Fael Illyar: Yes, good boy :)
    Fael Illyar pats head.
    Eliza Madrigal: hah
Eliza Madrigal: I agree with the idea that individuals find, I guess, different things...
    Agatha Macbeth: Mmm
Eliza Madrigal: It seems to me there are many layers
    Agatha Macbeth: Yes Eliza, true
Archmage Atlantis: I've been violating Nettiquitte a bit lately, and I am in reform school till I get it right :)
    Eliza Madrigal: hahaha
    Agatha Macbeth: Nettiquette?
    Fael Illyar: Netiquette
    Agatha Macbeth: That too :)
    Archmage Atlantis: Thanks, Fael
Eliza Madrigal: yes,,, not like the sinus thing
    Eliza Madrigal giggles
    Agatha Macbeth: sniffs
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Archmage Atlantis: grin
Eliza Madrigal: I like the question though... I think I'd give a different answer almost any time I was asked...
Agatha Macbeth: Probably there is no one answer...
    Eliza Madrigal nods
    Fael Illyar smiles 'You're welcome.'
Eliza Madrigal: When first here, it was a great way to try to get more direct about practice...
Eliza Madrigal: I'd been meditating, but maybe not doing exercizes...
Eliza Madrigal: just lots of reading. I think the little leap to "just try" was a great discovery
Archmage Atlantis: Probably not, but discussing each individual's ideas could lead to new purposes for others who are there or read the recording.
    Eliza Madrigal: yes, true
Eliza Madrigal: We really do spark one another to see from many angles
Archmage Atlantis: My question was born from more of an organizational viewpoint
    Eliza Madrigal: flexible
    Eliza Madrigal: Ah
Archmage Atlantis: If Pema is doing this as research.....then will it end when his research is done?
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, well this isn't just research for Pema
Fael Illyar: Not a scientific research project, no.
Eliza Madrigal: It is a playground
Agatha Macbeth: How long does something like this take to research?
    --BELL--
Archmage Atlantis: Or will it become a structured organization, that has the mechanisms to self-perpetuate
Archmage Atlantis: And share it's methods and insights?
Fael Illyar: but Pema is hoping that PaB could become able to survive without him too.
    Eliza Madrigal nods
Eliza Madrigal: Well, take the 9 sec practice. It is very practical... applicable in nearly every setting imaginable... and surprisingly potent
Agatha Macbeth: A practical practice :)
    Eliza Madrigal: hehe, yes
Eliza Madrigal: I set the timer to do finances, to clean the house, to make phone calls...
Eliza Madrigal: mainly when I am 'in danger' of falling into stress that makes me reactive or discouraged or well, less effective
    Agatha Macbeth: nods
Eliza Madrigal: And no particular religious ideology...
    Agatha Macbeth: That helps ;-)
Eliza Madrigal: though no one's ideology is necessarily excluded
    Eliza Madrigal: yes!
    Agatha Macbeth: :)
Eliza Madrigal: And some of the practices/ideas are so obvious for one, and take a long time to dawn for another...
Eliza Madrigal: which makes for a neat dynamism I think... hearing others' reflections, etc
    Agatha Macbeth: Yes
Eliza Madrigal: Organizationally I don't think that there is a set trajectory...
Eliza Madrigal: more learning and adapting together as we go along?
Agatha Macbeth: That's how I would see it too Eliza
Fael Illyar: as long as there's structures to keep a meeting place and a website, PaB can survive I think.
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: Fael, You've been here the longest I think... from when?
Agatha Macbeth: And we all keep turning up :)
Eliza Madrigal will keep turning up... heheh
Fael Illyar: I first came to PaB at the end of May 2008
    Agatha Macbeth: :)
Eliza Madrigal: If I ever stomp off in a huff, I'll come back in a different form... giggles
Agatha Macbeth: That *might* work ;-)
Eliza Madrigal will not be stomping off anyway ;-)
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, so nearly the beginning Fael
    Agatha Macbeth: Good!
Archmage Atlantis: Since I have been coming to PaB, I have seen few new folks who come on a regular basis....that is a limited dataset.....but of the data I have, the partipation seems nearly static
    Archmage Atlantis: *participation
Fael Illyar: as long as no-one tries to enforce unity of opinion, this will most likely stay a group I'll enjoy taking part in :)
Fael Illyar: what is static participation?
Eliza Madrigal: Sometimes there is a wave that has to settle, too...
Agatha Macbeth: I doubt that could ever happen Fael :)
Fael Illyar: ah, you mean not much new people, Arch?
Archmage Atlantis: Yes, not many new people
Eliza Madrigal: some jump and make the balance immediately and others scramble... I was nervous to go to a rl meeting, for instance... and if I hadn't gone I think I'd still enjoy pab as much
Fael Illyar: The bigger the group grows, the higher new people will feel the bar to entrance to be
    Eliza Madrigal: hm
    Agatha Macbeth: Probably
Eliza Madrigal: Its very important to stay in touch with that aspect... of welcoming and listening to new visitors/questions, etc
Archmage Atlantis: Does anyone share the practice learned here outside of here...in RL or SL?
Fael Illyar: I have told a few people of it, no idea if any took it up.
Eliza Madrigal: yes, I talk about it with friends, with my children obviously...
Archmage Atlantis: I have once or twice, but those were unusal situations
    Archmage Atlantis: *unusual
Fael Illyar: Sometimes I just get a feeling that "Ah, this person might benefit from this" and I proceed and tell.
Eliza Madrigal: I have friends who would be so benefitted, and who ask advice from me all the time, but something stops them from taking the time... even 9 sec...
    Eliza Madrigal nods to Fael
Fael Illyar: I'd say, they're not yet ready :)
Eliza Madrigal: yes, there are time delays
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    --BELL--
    Agatha Macbeth: Indeed :)
Eliza Madrigal: Thanks for the talk this morning :) Have a lovely day. bfn
    Agatha Macbeth: Bye Eliza!
Archmage Atlantis: What another does with information is their own path
Fael Illyar blinks 'That was fast exit.'
    Archmage Atlantis: Bye Eliza
Agatha Macbeth: (poof, she was gone...)
Agatha Macbeth: Think I'll run along too...
    Archmage Atlantis: Bye Agatha
Agatha Macbeth: Things to see people to do and all that
    Agatha Macbeth: Bye Arch
Agatha Macbeth: C ya Fael :)
    Agatha Macbeth: *hugs*
Fael Illyar: ah, agatha was fast too
Archmage Atlantis: Like an old time movie.......where is the frame sequence that says "The End" :)
    Fael Illyar smiles.
    Fael Illyar: Hi Riddle :)
Archmage Atlantis: Time for me to go also
Fael Illyar: We were just finishing up :)
    Riddle Sideways: hi Fael, Arch
    Riddle Sideways: oo
