    Lucinda Lavender: HI Eliza
Eliza Madrigal: Hi :) clicking link....
    Lucinda Lavender: looking lovely
    Xirana Oximoxi: try ctrl+alt+r
Xirana Oximoxi: to rebake yourself...sometimes it works
Eliza Madrigal: using a mac now, not sure how that works...
Lucinda Lavender: wanted to show these landscape art peices to xirana
    Eliza Madrigal: oh, sure, interesting
Lucinda Lavender: husband and daughter went to this area, for a walk, came home and looked for images...found this
    Lucinda Lavender: Eliza...new mac?
Xirana Oximoxi: oh yes!!! interesting paintings Luci! a little surrealist
Lucinda Lavender: the area is so beautiful...called Padilla Bay
Xirana Oximoxi: it seems a wide place..one can feel really at 'open air' :)
    Zen Arado: Hi all
    Xirana Oximoxi: hi Zen!
    Lucinda Lavender: HI zen:)
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Zen :)
    Zen Arado: new Mac?
Eliza Madrigal: beauiful artwork, thank you Luci....
Lucinda Lavender: here is a website to see...http://gilleyart.blogspot.com/
    Zen Arado: jealous
Eliza Madrigal: yes, I've converted :) but don't know how to do some basic things yet
Zen Arado: I just set up a new exhibition
    Zen Arado: but no opening
Xirana Oximoxi: yes, thank you..I would like to go and feel it in the place too:)
    Xirana Oximoxi: ahhh wonderful Zen!
    Lucinda Lavender: yes xirana...
    Zen Arado: it's only abstracts
    Zen Arado: but only 7
    Zen Arado: small plave
Lucinda Lavender: I will answer from what I know any questions you might have but I don't alot
    Zen Arado: place
Xirana Oximoxi: can you give the LM Zen? I will go to visit later:)
    Lucinda Lavender: cool! Zen!
Eliza Madrigal: you are quite busy lately Zen, so many exhibitions
    Zen Arado: yes
Lucinda Lavender: just remembering...for the next pause we could have a focus...
Eliza Madrigal: thank you Luci, that would be nice
    Xirana Oximoxi: yes...which focus?
Eliza Madrigal: was musing on 'sabbath' this morning, having listened to the talk Bleu shared
Eliza Madrigal: 'letting happiness catch up with you'
    Lucinda Lavender: that wounds good:)
    Lucinda Lavender: sounds
    --BELL--

    Lucinda Lavender: :)
    Eliza Madrigal: :))
Lucinda Lavender: would you like to say anything about Sabbath?
    Lucinda Lavender: or or happiness?
Xirana Oximoxi: happiness is a subject that comes time to time here... and in my view it's a general concept that we feel just at special moments, not a permanent state of being
Eliza Madrigal: I hadn't made the connection until listening to the talk, between Sabbath, and Buddhist 'mahamudra' or *Resting*/doing nothing/wu wei.... am finding this deeply comforting....
Zen Arado: it is a vague word I think
    Xirana Oximoxi: yes....
Lucinda Lavender: I have not listened to the talk yet
    Xirana Oximoxi: me either
    Zen Arado: me eother
Eliza Madrigal: It is surprisingly difficult to relax... easy to carry so much without realizing
Lucinda Lavender: will do so soon tho maybe not now tho
Zen Arado: you say either I say eother
Eliza Madrigal: in a way, it is simply appreciation, too, to just 'stop'
Lucinda Lavender: I agree about how hard that can be
    Lucinda Lavender: for me anyway
Xirana Oximoxi: do you say it with a special purpose or is just mistyping, Zen??
    Zen Arado: mistyping :)
    Xirana Oximoxi: :)
Eliza Madrigal: The Kafka quote I shared in the 99 days report a while ago... also resonates with the sense that we are chasing and chasing but often just need to 'stop'
    Lucinda Lavender: :))
    Xirana Oximoxi: ahhh ok :))
Eliza Madrigal: and let happiness catch up
    Zen Arado: yes Eliza
    Lucinda Lavender: yes...I remember that..
Zen Arado: just accepting what is
Eliza Madrigal: that everything we need is here and we are enough
    Zen Arado: yes
    Eliza Madrigal: can't earn love
Zen Arado: if you lose idea of control it is easier
Lucinda Lavender: letting the problems of others be theirs?
Lucinda Lavender: was thinking about that myself
    Eliza Madrigal: yes?
Zen Arado: 'can't but me love'
Lucinda Lavender: I pick up lots about others feelings...
    Zen Arado: buy
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Lucinda Lavender: and just to let that go...so hard!!
Zen Arado: can't buy me typing
    Xirana Oximoxi: :))
    Lucinda Lavender: :)
Eliza Madrigal: 'carrying the weight of the world'
Lucinda Lavender: I have been learning to step back I guess
Lucinda Lavender: and go to a room alone when I feel overwhelmed
Xirana Oximoxi: I must go now!!! see you soon and take care all!! :)
    Eliza Madrigal: Bye Xirana :)
    Xirana Oximoxi: bye bye
    Zen Arado: bye Xirana :)
Lucinda Lavender: take care Xirana...will view your art today
    Eliza Madrigal: that's important Luci
Lucinda Lavender: felt surprisingly good to remove myself
Lucinda Lavender: so rare for me to do but very important I now see
Eliza Madrigal: sometimes the best we can do for someone is by example, model rest
Zen Arado: I'm usually in a room alone :)
Eliza Madrigal: maybe what Buddha did :)
Lucinda Lavender: and focus from our own side
    Lucinda Lavender: wow Zen...
    Lucinda Lavender: yes
    Zen Arado: I live alone
    Lucinda Lavender: ahnodding
Lucinda Lavender: how near are the closest others
    Lucinda Lavender: ?
Zen Arado: can spend days without seeing anyone
    Zen Arado: epecially in winter
Lucinda Lavender: can imagine that 2L becomes like a link to the world
Eliza Madrigal: you appear to live alone but actually have avatars running around the house
    Zen Arado: yeh
    Zen Arado: :)
Lucinda Lavender: Luci wishes shse could fly in:)
    Lucinda Lavender: she
    Zen Arado: lots like me
    Eliza Madrigal smiles
    --BELL--

    Zen Arado: single people
Zen Arado: if you are retired and are single it is natural
    Lucinda Lavender: yes natural...
Zen Arado: I don't need so much company nowadays anyway
Eliza Madrigal: it really can't be about number of people or entertainment...
    Lucinda Lavender: :))
    Zen Arado: no
    Lucinda Lavender: Being
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Lucinda Lavender: outward influence
Zen Arado: we are connected to people so many ways
Eliza Madrigal: when content on one's own perhaps room for others
Zen Arado: I see people more often in SL than RL friends
    Lucinda Lavender: nodding...
Zen Arado: are they Real friends?
    Zen Arado: I think so
Eliza Madrigal: suppose that depends on the criteria for friendship, where it is located...
Eliza Madrigal: if it is located
Zen Arado: aren't they the same as RL?
Lucinda Lavender: our joinging together here is based on a certin openess I have thought
    Eliza Madrigal: yes
Eliza Madrigal: due to the open nature perhaps we are more free to connect in some ways
Zen Arado: I was talking to a woman last night and she still thinks SL is just a game
Zen Arado: and has been in here 5 years
Eliza Madrigal: for her it is then :)
    Lucinda Lavender: computer paper dolls:)
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, love that phrase Luci
    Zen Arado: :)
Zen Arado: what is the name for that ?
    Zen Arado: I forget
    Eliza Madrigal: pixel origami?
Zen Arado: I mean ppl who treat SL like that
    Zen Arado: :)
Lucinda Lavender: I think it ends in "Ation"
    Eliza Madrigal: dissosiative?
Zen Arado: immersionist and Augmentationist are others
    Zen Arado: ah yes
    Eliza Madrigal: *dissociative
Eliza Madrigal: there are game contexts in SL
Lucinda Lavender: I was thinking about a word for what children do in play...maybe it is identification...
Eliza Madrigal: and in RL :)
Zen Arado: is there an article about that on the web anywhere?
Zen Arado: I mean SL classifications
    Lucinda Lavender: not sure...
    Lucinda Lavender: maybe Pamela
Eliza Madrigal: Pamala Clift has a powerpoint that is public... I don't have the link right now
Zen Arado: I see Pamala has written a book about SL sex
    Lucinda Lavender: clift woud tho
    Eliza Madrigal: yes?
    Lucinda Lavender: maybe
    Lucinda Lavender: wow...
Eliza Madrigal: I should rejoin her group...
Lucinda Lavender: surprising how far it all goes
Zen Arado: 'Tonight 12/29/2011 I finally typed the words THE END on my booki. The Virgin's Handbook on Virtual Relationships.. Yeah! 155 pages, 54,000 words. It is in the editors hands now and of course there will be some correctionss, Thanks for letting me share the news and for all of you that have contributed to my frame of reference and shared your perceptionss & understandings with me. The book is dedicated to my Roadside Philosophers!! Hugs All. Happy New Year!
Eliza Madrigal: I hope that she will develop a presentation, would be interesting
Zen Arado: relationships I meant :)
Eliza Madrigal: she has interesting angles about the flexibility of SL relationships
    Lucinda Lavender: yes..
Eliza Madrigal: and some startling stories
    Eliza Madrigal: @2
    Zen Arado: ha ha
    Eliza Madrigal: @@
    Lucinda Lavender: :))
Eliza Madrigal: age of imagination :)
Zen Arado: I don't go there often
    Lucinda Lavender: :)
Eliza Madrigal: I watched a short interview with Ralph Fiennes the other day, and he talked about Shakespearean characters in particular, but also just characters... the joy of just 'dropping in' to a character that has been written well
Zen Arado: relationships are a mind thng maybe
    --BELL--

Lucinda Lavender: I have the sense that there is a need to play and trust in the world somewhere...to exchange self interest for interest in others...
Zen Arado: I don't think my chaacter was written well :)
    Eliza Madrigal: =P~ Zen
Eliza Madrigal: a higher economy Luci?
Zen Arado: if you see yourself as others it is easier
Zen Arado: less ego less separation
Lucinda Lavender: aww...yes less ego sort of says it I guess
Zen Arado: too much individualistic conditioning
    Lucinda Lavender: less separate
Eliza Madrigal: if I had a real sense of what ego is, I might concur...
    Lucinda Lavender: :))
    Lucinda Lavender: to rest together
Zen Arado: or less of a sense of it...
    Eliza Madrigal smiles
Eliza Madrigal: I once thought that someone who does for others always and not for 'self' was non-egoistic...
Lucinda Lavender: to drop the agendas together
Zen Arado: the Dalai Lama wrote a book about searching for it
Eliza Madrigal: but yes, Luci, your sense is closer
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Zen Arado: but I think one comes before the other
Eliza Madrigal: rehearsing to be generous?
Zen Arado: my whole life and genetics has made me what I am
Lucinda Lavender: almost out of power here and not near the charger...
    Eliza Madrigal: aw
Zen Arado: no...your inclinations will make you do things
Zen Arado: I couldn't choose to be Mother Teresa
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Zen Arado: the whole of her life and background , her love of God etc made her be that way
Zen Arado: I read somewhere that she saw prayer as mre important and spent lots of time in that as well as helping ppl
    Lucinda Lavender: charging now
Eliza Madrigal: i was so thankful for her letters to be revealed, though that may be selfish... showing more dimension... often saints ... martin luther king jr, etc... are cast as not quite human
    Eliza Madrigal: not doubting
Zen Arado: yes and Dr King had illicit affairs
Lucinda Lavender: did she share about her doubt?
    Eliza Madrigal: yes! she did...
Eliza Madrigal: she said for instance that she couldn't feel god's love...
Zen Arado: you have to be careful helping others
Zen Arado: they may not want that
    Zen Arado: oh?
Eliza Madrigal: yes... worth reading about
    Eliza Madrigal: amazing really
Lucinda Lavender: I can understand that...not feeling Gods love
Eliza Madrigal: there she was in the muck, still serving, but not because she felt a connection with god at many points... wrestling with doubt, etc
Zen Arado: if we see our own faults that is improving the world
    Eliza Madrigal: agree Zen
Zen Arado: I have vast scope there
    Zen Arado: :)
Eliza Madrigal: and not just see but somehow accept
Eliza Madrigal: then we may have capacity to accept others... tall order :)
    Eliza Madrigal giggles
Zen Arado: there can be things we shouldn't accept though ?
    Lucinda Lavender: :))
    Eliza Madrigal: behaviors? sure
Zen Arado: but we can create a bigger space of tolerance
    Eliza Madrigal: http://www.time.com/time/magazine/ar...655720,00.html
    Eliza Madrigal: (for later)
    Lucinda Lavender: thansk Eliza
    Zen Arado: interesting ty Eliza
Zen Arado: I better go back to my lonely room now :)
Lucinda Lavender: me too:) hope it is less lonley
    Zen Arado: byee
    Lucinda Lavender: byee..
Zen Arado: it isn't ever lonely :)
    --BELL--

Eliza Madrigal: :) Bye Zen, Bye Luci
    Lucinda Lavender: :))
    Eliza Madrigal: thank you both
    Lucinda Lavender: thank you Eliza:)
    Eliza Madrigal: ((( ))))
