Wol Euler was guardian for this session.

Bertram Jacobus: hejj wol ! :-)
    Wol Euler: hallo berti
Wol Euler: nice to see you here
Bertram Jacobus: ty - same same ! ;-)
Wol Euler: I'm probably going to miss the medittation this evening, by the way. So don't wait for me.
    Bertram Jacobus: okay ...
Bertram Jacobus: may i ask , why ?
Wol Euler: work. We have a competition due Friday lunchtime
Wol Euler: and there's a lot of design work and the whole drawing work to do before then
Bertram Jacobus: oh i see - you work so much ...
    Bertram Jacobus: so often ...
Bertram Jacobus: at unusual times ...
Wol Euler: everyone thinks that :) This isn't our usual time or quantity of work.
Wol Euler: this is trying to *get* work
Wol Euler: it's a competition, hence the deadline
Wol Euler: on normal working days we go home at 8pm at the latest
Bertram Jacobus: yes. for sure i understand that ...
Bertram Jacobus: but 8 pm isn´t very early as well !
    Wol Euler: heheheheh
Bertram Jacobus: 4 pm would be nice ! :-)
    Wol Euler: ha. never happen.
    Bertram Jacobus: bad ... :o)
Wol Euler: it would be nice, sure, just as it would be nice to have wings
Bertram Jacobus: so at least, with that, you should be a millionaire ! ;-)
Wol Euler: but neither of those will ever happen so I don't bother worrying about them
Wol Euler: again, it's a competition. The reason we are doing this is that we have no paid work to do.
Bertram Jacobus: heya qt - long time not seen :-)
Wol Euler: so no, there is very little money in it for me
Wol Euler: just the chance of a job
    Qt Core: Hi Wol
    Wol Euler: buongiorno Qt
    Qt Core: Hi Bertram!
Bertram Jacobus: i prefere not to work so much ...
Wol Euler: so would I, bert.
Wol Euler: but as I said, I might also prefer to have wings.
    Qt Core: who wouldn't ?
Qt Core: both work and wings)
Bertram Jacobus: hmmm - but in my life , it works with not so much working ...
Wol Euler: are you an architect? :)
    Qt Core: Hi Hana
Hana Furlough: Hi Bert, Wol, and QT
    Wol Euler: hello hana
Bertram Jacobus: at least now and then. years in that way. and before, there were also times with more work, "ok" ...
    Bertram Jacobus: hi hana :-)
Qt Core: the great work to live vs live t work debate
Wol Euler: the thing is, architects cannot advertise (illegal)
Wol Euler: competitions is the way we get new jobs
    Hana Furlough: it's illegal?!
    Wol Euler: mmhmm
Wol Euler: because we have pure souls, you see, and dabbling in commerce would corrupt us
Qt Core: after all what would you advertise... the number of your builds that still stand ? ;-)
Wol Euler: (also because we get tax advantages that would be undone (considered unfair) if we could behave as commercial enterprises do)
Hana Furlough: is it illegal everywhere? or just certain countries?
Wol Euler: in Germany, perhaps in the rest of Europe too, since our tax codes and professional stuff is pretty much aligned
    Hana Furlough: fascinating
    Wol Euler smiles.
Qt Core: never seen an architect advert around here, but i don't think they would use posters around the streets, maybe ads in professional magazine
Wol Euler: the reason behind it all is that architecture takes an awfully long time. The last project we completed took four years from competition to opening party --- and then another half year before it was really complete
Wol Euler: sure, it sounds pretty good to say we got 7% of 10.5 million Euros, but that fed three to five people for four years, plus office rent, plus coffee ...

    --BELL--

Wol Euler: if you have a shop, you get money coming in every hour.
Hana Furlough: wow that's like writing a dissertation
Wol Euler: there will be good days and bad days, sure, but you have a constant flow of cash coming in
    Wol Euler: hehehehh
Wol Euler: we were paid in installments, perhaps six times over those 4.5 years
Wol Euler: so normal commercial taxation strategies don't work for us.
Wol Euler: you can't look at the one month in which somebody gave us cash and project that up to a year.
Wol Euler: that month WAS the year.
Wol Euler: so we have a different tax code, based on the fact that we aren't commercial
Wol Euler: which is why we can't advertise
Wol Euler will shut up now.
    Bertram Jacobus smiles ...
    Bertram Jacobus: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNSUOFgj97M
Hana Furlough: no no that was interesting
Qt Core: strange to think about this song and Pab in the same context ;-)
Bertram Jacobus thinks : "material world versus values and spiritual life" ...
Wol Euler: it's a difficult balance
Bertram Jacobus: or - how to get "both sections" together !? ...
Wol Euler: don't get me wrong, I think it's crazy to be in the office until 00:30, and to be going back as soon as I'm finished here
Wol Euler: but we don't have a choice. We can either do competitions or close the office.
Bertram Jacobus: it´s not that i wouldn´t understand that !
Hana Furlough: do you enjoy the work, wol?
    Wol Euler: oh yes :)
Wol Euler: I wish there were fewer hours, but I love it
    Wol Euler: it's very satisfying
Bertram Jacobus: that sounds nice ... !
    Hana Furlough: great!
    Wol Euler smiles.
    Bertram Jacobus: dedicated ... :-)
Bertram Jacobus: dedicates follower of creation, achitecture and style ? :-)
    Wol Euler chuckles.
Wol Euler: I'm thinking about what to do when it's over, next weekend
Wol Euler: I can get to Paris by train for 39 Euros...
    Bertram Jacobus: great
Hana Furlough: that sounds so nice
Wol Euler: you could too, berti :)
    Wol Euler grins.
Bertram Jacobus: hehe. i guess so ... but it had to be booked in time, some days or weeks before - isn´t that so wol ?
Wol Euler: oh, I didn't look at the fine print
Wol Euler: you are probably right
Qt Core: and probably only on a full moon too
Bertram Jacobus: and i mostly "have to", better "like to" coordinate my actions with fee (my partner) ...
    Wol Euler smiles.
Wol Euler: "hello darling, look, we're going to Paris!"

    --BELL--

Bertram Jacobus: hehe. sounds really seductively ! ... ;o)
    Wol Euler: see? :)
    Bertram Jacobus: yes ! *grin*
    Wol Euler chuckles.
Bertram Jacobus: but / and ... at the 14th of september we go to austria for one week ...
Bertram Jacobus: the 39 offer - is that with this "thalys" train wol ?
    Wol Euler: mmhmm
Wol Euler: direct TGV connection Stuttgart-Paris!
Wol Euler: well, the DB website is broken, but that is what they advertise
Bertram Jacobus: grat - from cologne it´s via brussels (or how do you spell it?
    Wol Euler: Sproutville :)
    Bertram Jacobus: ehm *g*
    Wol Euler: sorry
    Bertram Jacobus: why ? :-)
Wol Euler: for the sprout joke
    Bertram Jacobus: ehm - *smile*
Bertram Jacobus: it´s nice ! i learn english conversation that way - ty ! :-)
Bertram Jacobus: but the db website ... here is ok, not broken (?) ...
Wol Euler: do you get a Captcha what-word-is-this thing on the Euro Special page?
Hana Furlough: i should get back to tidying up
    Wol Euler smiles.
Hana Furlough: hang in there, wol and have a good day everyone
Wol Euler: enjoy the rest of the day, dear Hana
Hana Furlough: thank you! bye for now!
    Bertram Jacobus: bye hana ...
    Qt Core: bye Hana
Bertram Jacobus: i don´t even know, what the "euro special page" is ! (?)
    Wol Euler: http://ps.bahn.de/preissuche/preissu...s-buchung_LZ03
Wol Euler: ha, and now it shows up. Fine. Whatever.
Qt Core: reverse Murphy's law ;-)
    Wol Euler: indeed
    Wol Euler: "demonstration efffect"

    --BELL--

Bertram Jacobus: and yes : i got the captcha - why did you ask ?
Wol Euler: because it didn't appear for me at first
    Bertram Jacobus: oh. ah :-)
Bertram Jacobus: and i saw fares now from around 69 to 99 € ... one way ...
Wol Euler: yes, the special fare is a special fare. There will of course be conditions on it
Bertram Jacobus: mostly the early booking is the condition, and special times and / or days ...
Qt Core: rl calls, have to go
Wol Euler: bye qt, enjoy the day
Qt Core: bye all and have fun
    Bertram Jacobus: byee qt
    Wol Euler: hello Carl!
    carlicann Resident: Hiya Wol!
    carlicann Resident: Hello Bertram!
Bertram Jacobus: hi there carl :-)
carlicann Resident: <-- sleepy head just woke up ... missed most of 2 PaBs Yikes!
    Wol Euler: awwwwwwwwwwww
Wol Euler: sleep is a goodness.
    Bertram Jacobus: agree ! :-)
carlicann Resident: aye... when we sleep we fly through joy
    Wol Euler smiles.
carlicann Resident: so it's pretty fun
    Wol Euler: nice image
Bertram Jacobus: but there are nightmares as well (!) ...
carlicann Resident: yes... I don't recall having particularly scarry nightmares... usually it's some kind of embarassing social scene lol
carlicann Resident: of course there is always the "falling" nightmare... but that is short lived
    Bertram Jacobus: hehe. i see ... :-)
Bertram Jacobus: so - there is the whole range of all human experiences from the so to say awaken life plus some very interesting additions ...
Bertram Jacobus: "the dream world" ...

    --BELL--

Bertram Jacobus: ok friends - i´ll leave - have a nice time and - may all beings be happy ! *wave* ...
Wol Euler: bye berti, take care
    Wol Euler: hugs to Fee
    carlicann Resident: bye bye Bertram
Bertram Jacobus: and TY ! :-))
carlicann Resident: 5 hours.. until our next encounter
Wol Euler: I won't be there, alas. I have to work today
carlicann Resident: I am reading about facilitation.... The World Cafe...
carlicann Resident: ahhhh well Sunday toil... so sorry
    Wol Euler: it happens :)
    Wol Euler: could be worse
Wol Euler: at least the phone doesn't ring, we can get some concentrated thinking done
carlicann Resident: that's a good thing... I was thinking about my friend ... in a small town down South... he's a got a 2nd job... preacher at a huge church... his phone never stops ringing...
carlicann Resident: almost always bad news... someone died... someone sick...
carlicann Resident: once is a blue moon... someone getting married... but not while I was there... and that was an Easter Sunday
    Wol Euler nods.
carlicann Resident: about every 10 minutes.. more bad news.... I can't imagine why he would put up with that torment.... or his family
carlicann Resident: great to see you again Wol... I feel anchored... like I've got a community... have not felt this way since I stopped being deeply religious
    Wol Euler smiles.
Wol Euler: nice to have you on board, Carl
carlicann Resident: I hope to see you again soon... have a pleasant day... with the phone not ringing
    Wol Euler: hehehe
    Wol Euler: thanks, carl
    Wol Euler: take care
