    szavanna Resident: https://wiki.playasbeing.org/Chat_Logs/2013/09/2013.09.08_19%3a00_-_Define_Dropping
Bruce Mowbray listens to catch he drift
    szavanna Resident: *session
    Bruce Mowbray: ty.
stevenaia Michinaga: cat and I didn;t get very far, I was just trying to create a framework to look at it
    szavanna Resident: checking the log
stevenaia Michinaga: I a good at dropping in Rl, but I can;t say much about dropping dropping
    Arisia Vita: welcome Zen
Zen Arado: 's current display-name is "Zen".
    Bruce Mowbray: Hello, Zen.
    stevenaia Michinaga: hello Zen
    szavanna Resident: Zenji °͜°
    szavanna Resident: welcome °͜°
stevenaia Michinaga: on one hand dropping dropping could put you back before you dropped anything
    Zen Arado: Hi all
szavanna Resident: oh that sounds tricky Stevie :)
stevenaia Michinaga: on the other it could be standing perfectly still and empty)
Zen Arado: keep dropping my mouse :(
szavanna Resident: how are you Zenji :)
szavanna Resident: oh what makes you drop it
    Zen Arado: ok ty Sunji
    szavanna Resident: °͜°
Zen Arado: weak hands and arms
Bruce Mowbray: You may already have discussed this, but does "Dropping dropping" mean to drop the RITUAL of dropping?
szavanna Resident: hmm you use voice too right?
Zen Arado: knock it off the desk
szavanna Resident: we haven't yet discussed it
Zen Arado: dosn't help for mouse though
szavanna Resident: ok thats true Zenji
Zen Arado: very tedious to control by voice
    Zen Arado: it is possible
    szavanna Resident: ah you can?
Zen Arado: lots will have RSI problems from using mouse
stevenaia Michinaga: what is left after you stop dropping, everything else or nothing?
Zen Arado: I don't understand dropping
    Zen Arado: drop what?
stevenaia Michinaga: whatever you are grasping
Zen Arado: pab language I never grasped
    stevenaia Michinaga: anger, judgement, pride
szavanna Resident drops everything and listens
    stevenaia Michinaga: ego
Zen Arado: best to just notice it I think
stevenaia Michinaga: all the things that interfere with seeing
Zen Arado: once you see it it can't control you
Bruce Mowbray: I'm not saying that this is MY position, but if the ritual of "dropping" every fifteen minutes has become fetishized (and no longer retains its original purposes), then perhaps dropping that fetishized ritual would be what "dropping dropping" means. . .
Zen Arado: sonds too simple I guess
szavanna Resident: hmm imagines seeing the graspings
    --BELL--
    Zen Arado: ha yes Bruce
szavanna Resident: it does seem to take you back to just a normal state ...that we have before dropping
    Zen Arado: yes
szavanna Resident: I prefer to have the breaks °͜°
    szavanna Resident: ponders
Zen Arado: techniques need a self that has to do something
    Bruce Mowbray: (Me too, Sun!)
    szavanna Resident: ;))
    Zen Arado: reinforces it's image
Zen Arado: the anger etc came up from it protecting itself
    Zen Arado: I think
Zen Arado: the self brought it into existence
Zen Arado: so why not just see that and let it dissi[ate?
    Zen Arado: dissipate
    Zen Arado: naturally
    szavanna Resident: see what Zenji?
Zen Arado: see the anger rising
stevenaia Michinaga: I thing dropping is a tool to that natural dissipation
    szavanna Resident: hmm yes
Zen Arado: maybe allow thoughts that prolong it to ...drop
Bruce Mowbray: Perhaps there is some danger of "people serving the "drops" - rather than the "drops" serving people.
Zen Arado: yes if you want to put it like that
szavanna Resident: dropping means ... witnessing it but not taking part actively ...and watching it melt away?
    Zen Arado: yeh
    Zen Arado: Bruce
LovePeaceSevgi Resident: 's current display-name is "LovePeaceSevgi".
Bruce Mowbray: I am hearing echos of the Heart Sutra mantra in this discussion: Gate Gate, etc. (Dropping as a method of "going beyond beyond...")
Samara Nikitin: 's current display-name is "Samara Aries".
szavanna Resident: hi Love welcome :)
    Bruce Mowbray: Good day, Love.
Zen Arado: don't we have favourite patterns of thought we get trapped in?
    Bruce Mowbray: and welcome.
    szavanna Resident: hi Samara °͜°
    Samara Nikitin: hi
Zen Arado: just seeing them helps
    Zen Arado: Hi Samara

    Zen Arado: good teacher
    Bruce Mowbray: Tolle, yes. . . (not Meister Eckhart. . . ?)

szavanna Resident: yes he is great
Zen Arado: and witty and funny
LovePeaceSevgi Resident: I dont want to be recorded pls

    LovePeaceSevgi Resident: :)
szavanna Resident: we usually post our logs online
Arisia Vita: so others can benefit
szavanna Resident: so that we can look later ...all that we have discussed
szavanna Resident: I will not publish your words then Love :)
LovePeaceSevgi Resident: do you have a topic for today
    szavanna Resident: yes
szavanna Resident: we are talking about "dropping dropping"
    szavanna Resident: ;o)
szavanna Resident: which sounds funny hehe
    LovePeaceSevgi Resident: :)
szavanna Resident: :) but we are talking about it very seriously
Zen Arado: the mouse I drop: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ergonomic-mo...bs_computers_2
    szavanna Resident: ah :)
Zen Arado: should have got a wireless one
Zen Arado: wired one I mean
Zen Arado: wouldn't drop off the desk then
szavanna Resident: why is that better Zenji
    szavanna Resident: ahh

    Zen Arado: byee Love
stevenaia Michinaga: feel free to return
stevenaia Michinaga: we meet every 6 hours here
Zen Arado: repetitive thinking a good thing to drop
    Zen Arado: like worrying
Zen Arado: round and round in circles
Zen Arado: wonder how many thoughts we repeat?
    --BELL--
Bleu Oleander: 's current display-name is "Bleu".
    szavanna Resident: ♥ ♥ ♥
    szavanna Resident: Bleuji ♥ ♥ ♥
    stevenaia Michinaga: Hi Bleu
szavanna Resident: This is .... ELEPHANTASTIC !!
    szavanna Resident: _____
    szavanna Resident: / 0 \____
    szavanna Resident: / _ \__/ \
    szavanna Resident: / / \ ____ I \
    szavanna Resident: /_/ I I I I
    szavanna Resident: I__I I__I
szavanna Resident: I mean you are
    szavanna Resident: °͜°
    Zen Arado: Hi Bleu
Bruce Mowbray: So, if I'm understand you Zen, repeating a mantra might also produce repetitive thinking . . . and if it does that, it would be better to drop it?
    Bruce Mowbray: Welcome, Bleu!
    Bleu Oleander: hiya all
szavanna Resident: so great to see you
    szavanna Resident: all ok?
    szavanna Resident: ...Weeeeee...Weee Weee Weeee...Weeeeee...
    Samara Nikitin: hi
Bleu Oleander: sorry to be late ... big storm here
    szavanna Resident: ahh
    stevenaia Michinaga: :)
Zen Arado: that's different I think
    szavanna Resident: it settled now?
Arisia Vita: Sun is happy :)
Bleu Oleander: I think so phew
szavanna Resident: sorry hehe I dropped everything when Bleuji arrived ... and went silly
    Bleu Oleander: lol
    Samara Nikitin: :)
    szavanna Resident: great °͜°
Zen Arado: mantras produce a kind of non thinking mind state?
    szavanna Resident: ;D
Bleu Oleander: have that affect sometimes haha
szavanna Resident: Stevie was saying ...its great to see new faces
Zen Arado: worry thinking is more destructive
szavanna Resident: but mantras are so repetitive
szavanna Resident: Bleuji we are talking about dropping dropping
Bleu Oleander: how do you drop dropping?
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, if mantras are used properly. . . . or, sometimes to put the mind in a sort of "quality groove" -
szavanna Resident: or seeing something then it "melts away"
    Zen Arado: worry pprovokes emotions
    szavanna Resident: drops away
Zen Arado: mantra lull the mind
    szavanna Resident: mm quality groove
szavanna Resident: give me a mantra video :)
Bleu Oleander: does that mean that you stop the process of dropping?
szavanna Resident: isn't dropping 1-2-3 and then done?
Zen Arado: the dropping is in the seeing for me
Zen Arado: seing allows dropping to happen naturally
    szavanna Resident: :)
szavanna Resident: it seems more seamless
Zen Arado: reveals what is going on
Bruce Mowbray: Before your arrival, Bleu, we were pushing around the notion that the "dropping" itself could become a fetishized ritual -- and should therefore be "dropped."
    szavanna Resident: seeing-dropping
    Bleu Oleander: ah ok
Zen Arado: more like awareness seeing
    Zen Arado: hard to explain
    stevenaia Michinaga: dropping the fog
    Arisia Vita: or the mask
Zen Arado: like seeing thoughts arising during meditation
    Bruce Mowbray: witnessing. . .
Zen Arado: yeh seeing throiugh the fog
Bleu Oleander: become more non-conscious, automatic?
Zen Arado: it starts to evaporate
stevenaia Michinaga: or touching your intuition
Zen Arado: not blinded by thoughts or pulled along by them
    Zen Arado: yes
    Zen Arado: listens
Bleu Oleander: I personally like my thoughts hehe
    Zen Arado: yeh
    szavanna Resident: hehe
    szavanna Resident: hmm
Zen Arado: thinking them stops me sleeping sometimes
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, but sometimes there are those little roadblocks
Bleu Oleander: the questions might be to become aware of your thoughts and recognize the unproductive ones perhaps?
Zen Arado: prefer to keep thinking than sleep which is stupid
    Zen Arado: yes maybe
Zen Arado: or self pitying ones that lead to depression
    stevenaia Michinaga: no dreams, Zen?
Zen Arado: oh dreams too Steve
Zen Arado: daydreaming used to be me
stevenaia Michinaga: dreams may be the best example of dropping dropping
Bleu Oleander: keep a thought journal by your bed and write down your ideas
    stevenaia Michinaga: they just are
Zen Arado: living in a fantasy world whch would happen in the future
Zen Arado: I find my dreams silly usually
stevenaia Michinaga: then I hand them to luci for interpretation :)
    Bleu Oleander: lol
Bleu Oleander: you are the best interpreter of your dreams
Zen Arado: it's like I have a dream censor
Zen Arado: stops me remembering them
stevenaia Michinaga: strange, I just watch them, never thought of hidden meaning (Mostly) especially when I get to jott them down
Zen Arado: tells me they are too silly
    Zen Arado: X-Rated dreams :)
stevenaia Michinaga: I always ask why did I dream that... rarely do I find an answer
Zen Arado: 'dream something more sensibel' i says
Zen Arado: like a film critic hmm
Bleu Oleander: really no answer to "why" ... maybe only what you see that is meaningful to you
    --BELL--
stevenaia Michinaga: back to work for me
stevenaia Michinaga: nice being here in my morning
Bleu Oleander: for me too :)
