    Bleu Oleander: hiya Qt

    Eliza Madrigal giggles
Bleu Oleander: sighs ... so little time
Eliza Madrigal: for a while I was keeping up with a few courses, at least videos-wise, but now lagging....
Eliza Madrigal: am not sure about keeping in the creativity one
    --BELL--

    Bleu Oleander: I didn't like the creativity one ... I un-enrolled :)
Eliza Madrigal: she talks down to the class I think
Bleu Oleander: I'm enjoying the class "A Brief History of Humankind" though
    Eliza Madrigal: feels weird
Bleu Oleander: yes I felt that too
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Xiri :)
    Bleu Oleander: Hi Xiri :)

    Eliza Madrigal: wonderful exhibit, yes!
    Xirana Oximoxi: ty ty :-)
Bleu Oleander: what size are those in rl?
Bleu Oleander: they fabulous large in sl
Xirana Oximoxi: they are about ...moment...I tell you exactly ... 34 x 53 cm. Canso watercolour paper 300 gr. :-)
    Bleu Oleander: ah ok
Bleu Oleander: size lends power to images in sl in an interesting way
Bleu Oleander: i've seen that with my own paintings
Xirana Oximoxi: yes...in SL I like to play with the size....... anyway...they are larger than most of people's screen :-)
    Bleu Oleander: :)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Bleu Oleander: I do think you should do a book
Xirana Oximoxi: I am in the way of doing ....but will go slwoly
Bleu Oleander: are you self publishing?
Xirana Oximoxi: I am working with a friend in this project...I will see how it evolves...
    Bleu Oleander: http://www.blurb.com/
Xirana Oximoxi: for me it's a new experience
Bleu Oleander: there are others i'm sure ... but fun to do your own with these kinds of tools
Xirana Oximoxi: yes...thank you Bleu! I know it ..interesting possibility
Bleu Oleander: print as you sell :)
Xirana Oximoxi: yes...that's the best way
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Bleu Oleander: :)
Xirana Oximoxi: if not you risk to spend a lot of money and have 1000 books at home
    Bleu Oleander: ha! yes
Bleu Oleander: wallpaper the house with them lol
    Xirana Oximoxi: yes :-))
Eliza Madrigal: they are then holiday gifts for next 10 years :)
Bleu Oleander: soooo, speaking of creativity ....
Xirana Oximoxi: needs to have 100' firnds to make gifts :-))
    Xirana Oximoxi: sorry brb
    Eliza Madrigal: :) yes?
    Bleu Oleander: haha
Bleu Oleander: how do we start a conversation about creativity?
    Bleu Oleander: almost too large
    Eliza Madrigal: agree... was considering
Eliza Madrigal: it is in many topics we discuss... but on its own...hm
Bleu Oleander: Brin was talking about competition being necessary in a way
    Eliza Madrigal: sparking one another?
    Bleu Oleander: yes
Bleu Oleander: oligarchy being the enemy
    Xirana Oximoxi: back
    --BELL--

    Xirana Oximoxi: who is Brin?
Bleu Oleander: wb, starting to talk about creativity Xiri
Bleu Oleander: David Brin, sci fi author
Xirana Oximoxi: yes.. reading up :-)
Bleu Oleander: was just listening to a talk by him
Xirana Oximoxi: ah ok,, thank you

Xirana Oximoxi: I only like competivity with myself
    Bleu Oleander: ok yes, interesting
    Eliza Madrigal smiles
Xirana Oximoxi: in the sense of always trying to improve
    Bleu Oleander: yes
    Xirana Oximoxi: :-)
Bleu Oleander: how do you determine what is "improving"?

Xirana Oximoxi: are you following the coursera course, Bleu, Eliza...?
Bleu Oleander: I un-enrolled (the Creativity class)
    Xirana Oximoxi: ok :-)
Bleu Oleander: I made a comment in the class discussions that I didn't like their choice of words, "level," for their first principle of creative diversity

(the class used the word "level" to describe one's mental capacities as one of the variables in the four principles of creative diversity  ... a better word for me might have been uniqueness of mental capacities)

Bleu Oleander: the word "level" implies a hierarchy to me

Xirana Oximoxi: I will have a look...until now I've had no time
Eliza Madrigal: and I may too... am taking some others and so far this one feels quite diff from other university courses
    Xirana Oximoxi: yes
Xirana Oximoxi: level applied to what?
Bleu Oleander: not sure 3 engineers have a handle on creativity lol

    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Xirana Oximoxi: ahh yes...I liked the IFF concept...I do apply it when painting.... :-)
Eliza Madrigal: I liked that too
Xirana Oximoxi: but..probably it is more focused in other fields than just creativity in Arts, literatur...
Eliza Madrigal: maybe 'creativity" is a topic about exploring limits
Eliza Madrigal: playing with them in various ways
    Xirana Oximoxi: when painting*
Bleu Oleander: to me its about finding a new way to combine ideas
    Eliza Madrigal: nice
Xirana Oximoxi: yes....interesting idea Eliza....to brake or to avoid to put limits
Bleu Oleander: creativity to me implies no limits in a way
Xirana Oximoxi: yes...but we have some limits imposed by our education..even if we are not aware of them
Bleu Oleander: hard to pin down though
Eliza Madrigal: "no limits" might feel a little overwhelming ...limits might be the point of the pencil
Xirana Oximoxi: also by the roles and rules of societues
Bleu Oleander: I prefer to think there are no limits

(realizes "no limits" may delusional, probably what I mean is the fullness of possibilities)

Bleu Oleander: (as long as I don't create something that harms anyone)
    Xirana Oximoxi: yes
Bleu Oleander: maybe there are ethical limits
    Bleu Oleander: societal limits
    Xirana Oximoxi: there are
    Bleu Oleander: yes
Eliza Madrigal: hard to know how any creation will be used by someone else in the future
    Eliza Madrigal: or any idea/philosophy
Eliza Madrigal: one of the courses I am taking... the modern/post modern... talks a lot about rousseau
Bleu Oleander: is that course good?
Xirana Oximoxi: we are always re-creating ideas and works of our 'antecessors's
Eliza Madrigal: and neitzsche.. and the way their ideas were used
    Eliza Madrigal: it is *great*
    Xirana Oximoxi: rousseau :-)
Bleu Oleander: might take a look at that one
    Eliza Madrigal: ty!
    Xirana Oximoxi: Nietzsche
Eliza Madrigal: we're well into it but the videos are excellent
    Xirana Oximoxi: :-))
    Eliza Madrigal: lol ty Xiri
    Xirana Oximoxi: yw :-)
Eliza Madrigal: it is really relevant to discussions of wealth inequality in our time as well
    Bleu Oleander: oi ....
Xirana Oximoxi: I would like to follow this course too...but will see if I have enough time...I will have to chose and discard
Bleu Oleander: ha, yes me too
Eliza Madrigal nods... this one and the holocaust course have been my primaries
    Bleu Oleander: over enrolled atm
    Xirana Oximoxi: me too :-)
Eliza Madrigal: I've enrolled in the poetry but have not looked at it yet... and prob can't do so any time soon... think we sold the house :)
    Bleu Oleander: oh nice!
    Xirana Oximoxi: ahhh great! :-)
Bleu Oleander: always stressful for me ... the house selling process
Bleu Oleander: well have to get going
Bleu Oleander: thanks all for coming
Eliza Madrigal: ty :) me too... am getting pinged with phone calls
