Xirana Oximoxi: I think it can be both... but maybe more related to the outside
Louis Onyett: Ahh, that is a tougher one, in some ways.

Xirana Oximoxi: in my view, we can relate both because probably a person with inner peace is a good contribution to the outer too

Xirana Oximoxi: I am thinking....
Xirana Oximoxi: I have the idea the 'violence' is part of human behaviour...but probably we can control it, what it seems we are not doing well
Louis Onyett: In places with sufficient food, water, shelter, etc, violence is less prevalent
Xirana Oximoxi: also...actually...too much economical interests hidden behind other purposes some try to make us believe
Xirana Oximoxi: yes...you're right
Louis Onyett: Perhaps one thing that blocks peace is sufficient food etc for citizens
Louis Onyett: Poverty leads to discontent and often that can be manipulated
Xirana Oximoxi: yes...poverty also conduces (leads) to less education and then more easy to manipulate people
Louis Onyett: So, helping to end poverty is certainly a worthwhile endevour that should lead to more peace
Xirana Oximoxi: both verbs are correct...to lead and to conduce :-)..I was checking the dictionnary

Xirana Oximoxi: I have no idea what discussions they have been having during the week,... I also think personal atitude is the only way we have to contribute improve things...

Xirana Oximoxi: as you told first...very difficult to control what governments do

Louis Onyett: There is peace here at home...and then international peace
Louis Onyett: External peace could even mean within a family or group
Louis Onyett: As you said, it must start from within
Xirana Oximoxi: yes...and between neigbourgs :-)
Xirana Oximoxi: a lot of fighting for what may seem 'simplel' daily things
Louis Onyett: Perhaps, focusing on individuals, and helping them to achieve 'peace' is the only true way
Louis Onyett: we can make a difference on a single person level
Louis Onyett: Social programs to help people get education, food, meaningful work, etc
Louis Onyett: Things we can do to help lead to peace
Xirana Oximoxi: yes... that' is the best way
Xirana Oximoxi: not easy to realise in rl when economical situation is so bad in a lot of places

Xirana Oximoxi: the word passion comes from latin and it meant 'suffering'...in the midle ages passion was seen as an illness

Xirana Oximoxi: philosophers were having great discussions about the role of emotions and the rol of mind...but I am not expert on their ideas
Louis Onyett: Latest interesting news I heard related to reason and emotion was due to findings from sleep research
Xirana Oximoxi: Descartes topic sentece...'I think then I exist'
Louis Onyett: Our brain stem appears to be active and helps sort out emotions associated with memories
Xirana Oximoxi: oh..interesting
Louis Onyett: So, emotions are from a more primitive area of the brain, one associated with hunger etc
Louis Onyett: and the prefrontal cortex must process that and 'regulate' it
Xirana Oximoxi: the basic needs of human's body?..to eat, to drink
Louis Onyett: point being, I guess, emotions are quite important, and strong
Xirana Oximoxi: I think so
Louis Onyett: and, during sleep, our ability to regulate these emotions is regenerated

Xirana Oximoxi: some tribes used to have 'war dances' before to go fighting..so maybe our answer would not work well there :-)
Louis Onyett: And, yes, we should stipulate the music played to avoid that type of dance

Louis Onyett: I wish I did. Really enjoy it. Never tried an instrument.

Xirana Oximoxi: I tried...but I was not good, it was very difficult to me....
Xirana Oximoxi: I tryied to learn to play guitar at a jazz school

Louis Onyett: Two of my brothers are good musicians-one a guitar

Louis Onyett: Yep, going over there was terrible since you leave at noon Saturday and get there at 0430 Sunday AM.
Louis Onyett: Have to stay up for >24 hrs.

Louis Onyett: Nice to see Ireland at peace. Was there for a week.
Louis Onyett: I remember all the troubles before they settled.

Louis Onyett: Such a beautiful place fore all that violence
Xirana Oximoxi: oh yes....and for so long time
Louis Onyett: Strange, since it doesn't seem like the British really run the place.

Louis Onyett: Was a wonderful place, at least where I was.
Xirana Oximoxi: religion is sometimes a 'difficult' or 'used' matter to justify fights
Louis Onyett: Yes-terrible irony when religion is used for violence.
Xirana Oximoxi: I've never been there..but I've seen fotos and my sister has a daughter that studied there and she went to visit and took fotos...very nice country
Louis Onyett: Very interesting area of the world, too. So many countries so close.

Louis Onyett: Was supposed to go to Exeter last spring, but trip cancelled.
Xirana Oximoxi: I've only been to London... one day I'll have to visit UK; Ireland...etc.
Louis Onyett: What did you think of London?
Xirana Oximoxi: I think is a nice city, with a lot of museums and gardens....I liked it, but I guess the rest of cities of England are more paceful

Xirana Oximoxi: cities are cities...if they are big, they are a bit stressing

Xirana Oximoxi: yes... but London you can enjoy the gardens which makes you feel like being in the country too...it does not happen in Barcelona, for exemple

Louis Onyett: That sounds nice. Gardens are wonderful. I like mine when I have time to plant it etc
Xirana Oximoxi: well..I live in the country...and when I stay two days in Barcelona I need 'air to breathe :-)' :-))
Louis Onyett: Understand that. I live in a small city, with farmland almost always a stones throw away.

Louis Onyett: Have some relatives that farm still
