This session touched on some PaB issues but at its heart seemed to involve the story-building skill many of us learned around the camp fire or in other such contexts. It seems like play and indeed PaB is about play, but the nimble-mindedness, adventurousness and humor seemed to spark one another. The participants had a lot of fun and it is hoped the reader might also.
It is interesting that most of the story-builders seemed to also share a similar sense of time passing quickly in the early part of the session. Whether these shared senses are linked, remains a question.
Maxine Walden: Hi, Rrose

Maxine Walden: right, Tarmel, we all thought of you when that thought came up.
Eden Haiku: Except for you yes and we are grateful for you!
Tarmel Udimo: I think its the time zone problem
Maxine Walden: of course. What is the time difference for you?
Tarmel Udimo: As it is I am going to sneak out early as its monday morning and I am off to work

Wol Euler: 10pm on sunday
Maxine Walden: and Wol, what time, about 10 pm?
Maxine Walden: the wonders of the round world
Tarmel Udimo: its also a headspce thing
Tarmel Udimo: most of the time i am feeling up and most people are tierd and ready for bed or visa versa:)
Maxine Walden: upside down...
Tarmel Udimo: yes and hard to sustain sometimes
Maxine Walden: hmmm
Aubergine Mint: hi everyone
Maxine Walden: hi, Augergine
Maxine Walden: Aubergine
Wol Euler: hello aubergine
Tarmel Udimo: hello
Rrose Millar: slipping out quietly since the RL avatar driving Eden and Rrose avatars got the H1N1 shot this afternnon. Eden will stay with you on Sparkle on ipod in her bed...

Tarmel Udimo: very advanced
Rrose Millar: Poofing out of laptop!
Maxine Walden: yes get rest and stay well
Eden Haiku: I'm still with you, lying on me bed
Maxine Walden: good to know you are; I had a fuzzy image in mind...
--BELL--
Maxine Walden: any PaB issues? a pause coming up momentarily...
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Everyone
Maxine Walden: (hi, Eliza, were in the 90 sec pause)
Wol Euler: hello eliza
Eden Haiku: When only on Sparkle as now I can't see you and have to stand up
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, apologies :)
Maxine Walden: heard the 90 sec bell and then heard the Eliza bells...:))
Eden Haiku: Hi Eliza
Tarmel Udimo: Hi Eliza
Aubergine Mint: hi eliza
Maxine Walden: Hope you can stay in touch Eden
Eden Haiku: Hi Aubergine
Aubergine Mint: hi eden
Eden Haiku: Hope so :)
Maxine Walden: ah, Tarmel, had not noticed the creature on your shoulder. What's its name?
Tarmel Udimo: kaju, a wee water dragon:)
Tarmel Udimo: I haven't programed him yet:(
Maxine Walden: ahhh, cute
Maxine Walden: Well, what PaB issues come to mind?
Eden Haiku: thinking about it
Eden Haiku: 9 secs pratice?
Maxine Walden: yes or other related issues...
Eden Haiku: Have been forgetting it lately
Maxine Walden: many of us find that easy to do, often or sometimes...
Maxine Walden: what's others experience re remembering the 9 sec practice?
Eden Haiku: Had my first SL dream last night.
Wol Euler: :)
Wol Euler: that's a threshold, eden
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Storm
Eden Haiku: I don't remember most of it
Wol Euler: hello storm
Tarmel Udimo: Hi Storm
Storm Nordwind whispers Hi
Eliza Madrigal: What do you remember Eden?
Maxine Walden: hi, Storm
Aubergine Mint: hi storm
Eden Haiku: A woman with a baby who was sick.
Eden Haiku: I don't know how i knew it was in SL
Eliza Madrigal: hm
Maxine Walden: Others have SL dreams often?
Eden Haiku: Good afternoon Storm
Eliza Madrigal: For a while I did, yes
arabella Ella: Hiya
Maxine Walden: hi, ara
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Ara :)
Wol Euler: hello ara
Storm Nordwind: Hi Eden. Hello ara
Aubergine Mint: hi ara
Storm comes to tell us about his refurbishing of the pub.
Storm Nordwind is not going to stay long, but wants to let people know that in response to recent discussion, the Village Pub (or Tavern, or Inn) can be used now... I've made it a little more cozy around the fire, adding three chairs, but I've removed the back door.
Wol Euler smiles. Nice, thank you
Eden Haiku: Hiya is a maltese expression?:)
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, Nice Storm. Thanks!
Tarmel Udimo: Nice Storm tks
arabella Ella: No Eden it isnt
Tarmel Udimo: will have to check it out
Maxine Walden: Ah, great, Storm! No back door so can come and go more easily?
Eden Haiku: Thks Storm!
Storm Nordwind: No back door so I had space in front of where it was to move things
Aubergine Mint: where is the village pub?
Maxine Walden: ah, gotcha
Wol Euler: just northish of here, I can show you after the session
Eden Haiku: An Ara's expression of greeting then!
Aubergine Mint: thanks!
arabella Ella: :)
Tarmel Udimo: (might have to take a rain check Wol but look forward to it)
Storm Nordwind: The village pub is at roughly Bieup(60, 200)
Wol Euler: hello yaku
Yakuzza Lethecus: hey everyone
Storm Nordwind: darts, chess and mini-go available to play there. Drinks on tap and a nice fireside
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Yakuzza :)
Maxine Walden: hi, Yaku
arabella Ella: Hiya Yaku
Storm Nordwind: Sorry to disrupt! Please imagine I'm not here :)
Aubergine Mint: hi yaku
Maxine Walden: Yaku, Storm is describing the village pub he has just improved
Maxine Walden: thanks and bye, Storm
Storm Nordwind: Poof!!!
Storm Nordwind disappears
Eliza Madrigal: yes might be nice to have a general time that people drop by the pub... like Saturdays after the 1Pm or something...
Maxine Walden: wonderful idea, Eliza
Maxine Walden: or maybe some would care to go after this session. I've another meeting, but others may wish to go
--BELL--
Eliza Madrigal: I liked when Gaya tried to organize everyone for dancing.. but the time didn't work so well for me.
Here is the shared experience of 'no time' between pauses
Maxine Walden: I was just aware of time, have been thinking about it recently. Seemed like almost 'no time' since the last 90 pause...
Wol Euler: true, I was surprised as well
Eliza Madrigal nods.. yes I experienced it that way also
Eden Haiku: Crashed. I'm back
Wol Euler: wb
Eliza Madrigal: wb Eden :)
Maxine Walden: interesting several of us had similar experience...re time since the previous pause
Tarmel Udimo: nods
Maxine Walden: glad to see you back Eden
Eden Haiku: i was lost in crashland
Wol Euler: :)
Maxine Walden: amidst the bits of pieces...
Ara comes and some attention is given to the upcoming RL retreat in Malta which she has been involved in organizing
Eliza Madrigal: So Ara have you gotten the air mattresses readyfor guests?... hehe
Eden Haiku: silence feels different with no visuals and no sound. A different quality.
arabella Ella: Hi yes all set Eliza
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eden Haiku: Yes the retreat is soon
arabella Ella: and ... as I told them in the group today ...
arabella Ella: today i noticed it is almond blossom time here
Wol Euler smiles.
Maxine Walden: can imagine, Eden, might be a bit disorienting
Eliza Madrigal: oohhhh
arabella Ella: the almond blossom trees glow wild and they are lovely
Maxine Walden: ara, that must be absolutely beautiful!
arabella Ella: they only last about two weeks but they are a sign that sprint is approaching
Eden Haiku: Blossom time!how wonderful Ara!
Maxine Walden: and fragrant as well, ara?
Eliza Madrigal: Oh My... so yes like the cherry blossoms... come for but a moment really...
Eliza Madrigal: sign of good things perhaps :)
Eden Haiku: Spring is sprinting as you sprint!
arabella Ella: no i guess since they are wild ... no smell ... and this is the bitter almond tree ... not much use ... but very lovely
And here begins the story building
Eliza Madrigal: beautiful, wild, and bitter... title for something :)
Eden Haiku: He he
Wol Euler: a rather melodramatic film?
Maxine Walden: !!, Eliza :)
Eliza Madrigal: :)
arabella Ella: :)
Eden Haiku: Or a chat log
Maxine Walden: about a young girl, left home...
Wol Euler: hopes cruelly dashed by ...
Eden Haiku: A dark stranger
Wol Euler: mysterious
Eliza Madrigal: with one shoe...
Eden Haiku: And a cape
arabella Ella: picks pebbles on a beach with wild waves ravaging the shore
Maxine Walden: whose limp she never noticed
Eden Haiku: And diamonds with time caps in them
Wol Euler: a time traveller
Eden Haiku: Promised her some time traveling
Wol Euler: mmhmm, to go back and prevent the tragic loss
Eliza Madrigal: she carries only a pen, a gift from her mother...
Maxine Walden: only a pen, nothing else...
Eden Haiku: A magic pen
Maxine Walden: a magic pen which 'knows' her thoughts before she even does herself
Wol Euler: mmhmm, she writes to discover what she thinks
Maxine Walden: and yet without paper she can hardly tell what that is...
Eliza Madrigal: sometimes she writes haikus on palm branches...
Eden Haiku: and that very morning she wrote:
Wol Euler: "your uncle is in league with the rebels, you must flee"
--BELL--
Eden Haiku: So she flew
Wol Euler: ((this will be a very interesting log to read!))
Maxine Walden: (Yaku, you are being very patient with this Sister Act, where we each write a line and try to carry the story ahead)
Maxine Walden: Yes, Wol, just thinking of also posting the log and how to frame it...
arabella Ella: did she really have anywhere safe to go to ...
Eliza Madrigal sees Ya wondering... "How did they know about my one shoe and cape?"
Eden Haiku: She had fractal wings given by her godmother at her birth
Yakuzza Lethecus: :)
Eliza Madrigal: Moonlight just enough to see a little house.. glowing in the distance...
Eden Haiku: Ah!the dark stranger was sitting in the circle!
Wol Euler shivesr
Eliza Madrigal: wait.. not a house! A pub!
Maxine Walden: Was he waiting for her, she wondered?
Eden Haiku: A pub yes!
Eliza Madrigal: would he make her play darts... as he had before?
arabella Ella: could she trust him to help her in the fraught state of mind she was in ...
Eden Haiku: He was for milleniums .
Maxine Walden: would they find the other shoe?
arabella Ella: she felt confused ... yet confident
Eden Haiku: Confident yes
arabella Ella: confident in her ability to play darts to engage the stranger and suss him out ...
Eliza Madrigal: She'd been born for just this moment
Maxine Walden: she and her fractal wings...
arabella Ella: magical and unique wings ... made her feel sooooo very special
Eden Haiku: She was a black belt karateka so she ..
Eliza Madrigal: used his cape against him
arabella Ella: but ...
Maxine Walden: tying him up with her black best...
Maxine Walden: black belt...
Eden Haiku: Yeahhh shouting her kihai; YAKU!!!
Maxine Walden: And all of a sudden the other shoe showed up...
arabella Ella: why did he not resist she wondered, concerned
Eden Haiku: (is he still here by the way?)
Maxine Walden: she did wonder that...
Eliza Madrigal: he seemed, sitting there, so gentle... what had she done?
Eliza Madrigal: inside the shoe she found...
Eden Haiku: (i'm laughing so much it hurts!)
arabella Ella: a crystal glass ... or what was it really?
Maxine Walden: her long lost right ear ring
Wol Euler: a scrap of paper, much folded, with her name and an unfamiliar telephone number
Eliza Madrigal: and a mouse
Wol Euler: a wireless mouse...
Eden Haiku: And a secret code
Eliza Madrigal: what could these things mean, how did they fit together?
Aubergine Mint: (bye everyone)
Wol Euler: bye aubergine, take care
Eliza Madrigal: Could she trust him?
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, bye Aubergine :)
arabella Ella: (bye Aubergine)
Maxine Walden: bye Aubergine..
Eden Haiku: She took her Enigma key out of her pavksack
Tarmel Udimo: (off to work for me - what fun! see you all again)
Wol Euler: bye tarmel, enjoy the day
arabella Ella: bye Tarmel
Eliza Madrigal: Bye Tarmel :) Nice to see you
Maxine Walden: bye Tarmel
Eden Haiku: Bye aube and Tarmel
arabella Ella: she stuck the key into her left ear docket ...
Eden Haiku: Oj oh
arabella Ella: booted
Eden Haiku: And?
arabella Ella: heard the whirring noise rumaging inside her brain
arabella Ella: suddenly ....
arabella Ella: eureka ...
It is very close to the hour and I have to go, as do others. The story continues to build for awhile
Maxine Walden: (gotta go, I'll see the rest when the log comes; lovely story)
Wol Euler: bye maxine, thanks
Eliza Madrigal: :) Bye Maxine, thank you
Eden Haiku: She understood the message was in
Yakuzza Lethecus: bye maxine :)
arabella Ella: bye Maxine
Eden Haiku: Bye Maxine
Wol Euler: an ancient and little-used language called
Eden Haiku: maltese
arabella Ella: once the answer was clear to her she wondered ... and asked herself ... why me? why me?
Wol Euler: (!!!)
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eden Haiku: And the wind answered
Eliza Madrigal: mary
arabella Ella: iva the wind howled ... iva mur u salva id-dinja ...
Wol Euler: she heard the strains of a distant guitar
arabella Ella: (yes ... yes ... go and save the world) ...
--BELL--
Eden Haiku: And she set on her journey to save the world so moved by the maltese words:
Eliza Madrigal: Drop what you have....
arabella Ella: OR; the guitar strains sounded like the call of calypso which could not be resisted despite all other demands bombarding her brain ...
Eden Haiku: Iva
arabella Ella: it seemed as though she no longer had a will of her own
Eliza Madrigal: but maybe she didn't need one...
Eliza Madrigal has to exit mid-story, too...
Eliza Madrigal: Thanks all. What fun
arabella Ella: she realised that her will had been taken over by some strange force
Wol Euler: to be continued...
arabella Ella: yes i must go too
Wol Euler: that was quite oddly brilliant :)
arabella Ella: bye everyone
arabella Ella: :)
Eden Haiku: Bye Eliza!
Eliza Madrigal smiles
Wol Euler: goodnight all, take care.
Eden Haiku: Bye Ara!
Eliza Madrigal: Bye Everyone, Take care too
Eden Haiku: That was so much fun.
arabella Ella: nite ... yes it was really good fun!
Eden Haiku: Crashed and came back on computer,.
Wol Euler nods
Eden Haiku: What happened to the poor girl YakU?
Wol Euler: and wjhere is your shoe?
The story continues...
Eden Haiku: Mtbe you will find it in Malta, like a pebble on the beach.
Wol Euler: mmhmm
Wol Euler: the time traveller will have put it there
Yakuzza Lethecus: when he jumps out of his blue police box
Eden Haiku: Oh, just read that her will had been taken by a strange force. oh oh!
Wol Euler: having stolen it from the Museum of the 21st Century, where it had been displayed for over a hundred years
Eden Haiku: Yes, and guarded by a whole body of guardians
Yakuzza Lethecus: oh, what history for a shoe
Wol Euler: she was possessed! by a force that she only dimly appreciated, called Being
Eden Haiku: Yes, a very important shoe Yaku.
Wol Euler: The Shoe That Fit.
Yakuzza Lethecus: but time and space will never fogot this one fitting shoe
Eden Haiku: A Being that went barefet ost of the time
Eden Haiku: Walked on water here and there
Eden Haiku: Once in a while
Wol Euler: ... which of course only works if you are barefoot, as all Maltese know ...
Eden Haiku: Took off his shoes waiting for Godot when they hurt
Eden Haiku: Thats how he arrived here only on one shoe, limping
Eden Haiku: Singinging
Eden Haiku: Then something happened
Yakuzza Lethecus: she heard strangers talking
Eden Haiku: What were they saying?
Wol Euler: the voices came from above her, high on the cliffs above the beach
Eden Haiku: She did not recognize the language.
Yakuzza Lethecus: but it wasn´t maltese this time, it was older far older
Eden Haiku: far older...
Eden Haiku: A language from before the barrier of time
Yakuzza Lethecus: nobody recognized it in the first place so they had to find the mystical oracle
Wol Euler: they took the shoe as an offering.
--BELL--
Eden Haiku: Put some flowers on it, with some ghee and yogourt and honey
Wol Euler: ((just threw a spoonful of yoghurt across my desk, brb))
Eden Haiku: ah!
Wol Euler: ((this has been vastly amusing, but I must go. Monday morning looms))
Eden Haiku: This is so much fun but I have to go to the restaurant. My father is inviting me and my boyfriend and I have to break the news that I'm going to India.
This news of Eden's, going to India, was not taken up by our tired group. But then the story had to be put on hold as well as everyone is being called away. But the spirit lingers...and perhaps if we just stay tuned....we will hear some more...
Yakuzza Lethecus: sadly, right i also need to fall asleep
Wol Euler: to be continued!
Wol Euler: goodngiht all, sweet dreams of shoes and beaches
Eden Haiku: Yes, so let us part on this unfinished story. Maybe we can pick it up sometimes... ;-)
Eden Haiku: Good night Wol, always a pleasure!
Yakuzza Lethecus: night/day you both
Wol Euler: is not all of life an unfinished story, though?
Wol Euler smiles
Eden Haiku: Sleep well Yaku and Wol!
Eden Haiku: And this is the end of the story.
Eden Haiku: For now ;-)
