The Guardian for this meeting was Bolonath Crystal. The comments are by Bolonath Crystal.
Bolonath Crystal: namaste cal :)
Bolonath Crystal: how r u?
Calvino Rabeni: _/!\_
Calvino Rabeni: I'm well - the day has been a good one
Calvino Rabeni: and you?
Bolonath Crystal: i'm well, too. just got up *g*. the day seems to become a good one ;)
Bolonath Crystal: i'm just taking my breakfast coffee :)
Calvino Rabeni: enjoy :)
Bolonath Crystal: ty
Bolonath Crystal: a friend of mine visited me during the last week. we had 2 to 3 meditation sessions per day and we did lots of pranayama
Bolonath Crystal: so i feel pretty centered at the moment :)
Calvino Rabeni: how long were the sessions?
Bolonath Crystal: about 15 to 30 minutes
Calvino Rabeni: That sounds nice. I've never invited a friend for a private meditation retreat, but it seems like a great idea
Bolonath Crystal: somehow the motivation is much better with a friend than all alone
Calvino Rabeni: and the focus
Bolonath Crystal: we're backing up each other
Bolonath Crystal: adding our energies
Bolonath Crystal: and of course the talks between the sittings are very fruitful
Calvino Rabeni: nice :)
Bolonath Crystal: :)
--BELL--
Calvino Rabeni: I took a friend to a dance practice event today
Calvino Rabeni: It starts with a circle and meditation
Bolonath Crystal: oh
Bolonath Crystal: dance and meditation?
Calvino Rabeni: Yes, it is a common format in this part of the world
Bolonath Crystal: what kind of dance was it?
Calvino Rabeni: conscious movement
Calvino Rabeni: with "world" music
Bolonath Crystal: that sounds like tai chi :)
Calvino Rabeni: yes, but free-form
Bolonath Crystal: cool
Darren Islar: hi Cal, Bolo :)
Calvino Rabeni: many of the dancers know lots of arts, TajJi, ReiKi, maybe Latihan, lots of disciplines, that come out in the dancing
Bolonath Crystal: namaste darren :)
Calvino Rabeni: Hello Darren
Bolonath Crystal: the atmosphere must have been sparkling :)
Calvino Rabeni: Yes,, and literally, a huge rainbow appeared, and lasted quite a while
Bolonath Crystal: cal talks about a conscious dance event, darren
Calvino Rabeni: Many of the dancers were tuning to that event in the sky
Calvino Rabeni: Not that it has cosmic significance, but those are impressive atmospheric phenomena
Bolonath Crystal: the apsaras were dancing with you
Calvino Rabeni: It kind of magnetized the group
Calvino Rabeni: "galvanized" ?
Calvino Rabeni: How R U, Darren?
Darren Islar: Actually, I don't now
Darren Islar: *know
Calvino Rabeni: Ah, it is morning? This morning, I did not know either :)
Darren Islar: something made a deep impression on me last night
Darren Islar: :)
Darren Islar: yes, just got out of bed
Calvino Rabeni: I think I understand
Darren Islar: we have been attending a dreamcircle last night Bolo
Bolonath Crystal: o i c
Darren Islar: a few people shared there dreams
Darren Islar: offering them to the group, as not being an individual dream
Darren Islar: but also touching universal principles
Darren Islar: that;s the idea :)
Calvino Rabeni: It was great to have 4 dream workers there together
Calvino Rabeni: As a meeting of different styles
Darren Islar: yes
Calvino Rabeni: Also interesting, for the online medium to be employed in a more "shamanic" way
Calvino Rabeni: BTW, Bolo, the meeting was mostly in Voice
--BELL--
Darren Islar: I came on as Liza, by accident actually, but therefor could use voice :)
Calvino Rabeni: Is that so the voice matches the avatar, or some technical reason.
Bolonath Crystal: actually i prefer the writing
Darren Islar: mostly I do too, but I think Connie was right about it is better to tell the dream in voice
Bolonath Crystal: more "authentical"?
Darren Islar: whele a man with a female voice would be a bit strange :)
Calvino Rabeni: Voice carries the sound vibration of the deep mind
Darren Islar: I think the voice si a carrier of information too
Bolonath Crystal nods
Darren Islar: right Cal
Calvino Rabeni: So the listener can be sensitive to what is in that
Calvino Rabeni: as part of the way of knowing the dream, also knowing something of the dreamer
Darren Islar: yes
Calvino Rabeni: It's a bit more challenge to attention and short term memory
Calvino Rabeni: to remember the story when told oraly
Calvino Rabeni: if one cannot "scroll up" :)
Darren Islar: true, but someone, (who had prepared something in writing) was going too fast
Calvino Rabeni: BTW I also got a bit lost on the one that was presented using a huge amount of text
Calvino Rabeni: yep, was saying the same :)
Darren Islar: I'm a slow reader, especially in Englisch :)
Calvino Rabeni: It is not a written medium
Calvino Rabeni: "Less is More"
Darren Islar: well, I understand that you need to write it down in front
Darren Islar: but who should have taken more time to present it
Calvino Rabeni: The writing in the journal is for the dreamer
Darren Islar: and there were also too many thoughts of his own in it :))
Calvino Rabeni: not so much for the listener
Bolonath Crystal: so all of us recently have had the experience of the effect of combined energies - in meditating, dancing and dream sharing. what would happen if all those techniques would be combined, too?
Calvino Rabeni: yes
Calvino Rabeni: Combined how ?
Darren Islar: maybe it already is, because I think they are all different ways to get to a certain place of energy
Calvino Rabeni: They get combined in the awareness of the practitioners
Darren Islar: right Ca;
Calvino Rabeni: or did you mean, a formal combination of some technique?
Darren Islar: Cal
Calvino Rabeni: LIke that dance event - there were many "practices" brought into the room
Calvino Rabeni: it was basically, "post formal"
Bolonath Crystal: hm... e.g. a group starts to dance together to get harmonized, thaen goes into a kind of "group meditation" to interlink the minds and shares dreams
Calvino Rabeni: in that it represented a combination of learnings that became part of the culture
Bolonath Crystal: something like that
Calvino Rabeni: that sounds like a good thing to try at a retreat
Bolonath Crystal: yes, would be worth trying
Calvino Rabeni: (Put it on the list, for a PaB retreat) :)
Darren Islar: yes, different ways, and one works better with someone then other parts
Darren Islar: so it is easier to get into the same 'area'
Darren Islar: :) I think I will be exhausted after that :)))
Calvino Rabeni: :)
Bolonath Crystal: hehe, you can take a nap afterwards
Calvino Rabeni: Have you found, that some practices give you energy?
Darren Islar: :)
Bolonath Crystal: pranayama
Calvino Rabeni: A nap is often a Good Thing :)
Calvino Rabeni: Veery under-rated
Darren Islar: a good night of sleep too Cal :))
Bolonath Crystal: and a meditation which i call "silver breath" (because i don't know the right name) is also very energizing
Calvino Rabeni: I was discussing this with someone, the ideas people have about sleeping
--BELL--
Calvino Rabeni: one person thinks - don't sleep during the day, because you then can't sleep at night when you "should" sleep
Calvino Rabeni: The other thinks "sleep when tired"
Bolonath Crystal: did you also talk about ideas about the state of mind during sleeping?
Calvino Rabeni: No, that was too esoteric for the situation
Darren Islar: a Shaman told me not so long ago that between 10 pm and 2 am is the time where you get most refreshment, because that is where you drop all the things of the day
Bolonath Crystal: ah
Calvino Rabeni: Maybe, but I like 3AM a lot
Calvino Rabeni: it is not the dropping time
Darren Islar: :)
Calvino Rabeni: it is after the dropping time, when a subtle wakeup can occur
Bolonath Crystal: yes, first some refreshing and dropping, and then to bed :)
Calvino Rabeni: Better not to take a "load" to bed
Darren Islar: I don't think that is what is meant here
Calvino Rabeni: What do you think is meant?
Darren Islar: that you brain is in a state of making the right connections as it comes to memory, learning, understanding
Darren Islar: if that happens, you drop
Darren Islar: but I will ask the essence of it, because maybe I missed something
Darren Islar: btw, I am going to sleep after 2 am too :)
Darren Islar: but she is gone now for a while
Calvino Rabeni: The brain may have a kind of process for what to do during the night.
Darren Islar: but she didnt exclude that maybe for nightowls, the time is a bit later
Calvino Rabeni: with some regularities
Bolonath Crystal: during my stay in the ashram i used to go to bed around 10:30pm
Calvino Rabeni: Most of my interesting dreams are before waking in the morning
Darren Islar: true, mine too
Calvino Rabeni: the early ones, seem to be kind of, sorting out the previous day
Calvino Rabeni: "housework" of the mind, not creativity
Bolonath Crystal: wow, do you take a look at your watches will dreaming? i don't know about the time of my dreams
Bolonath Crystal: will=while*
Darren Islar: yes, but also about making connections to take the day in and all that has been of value that day
Darren Islar: a deep learning process
Calvino Rabeni: I wake several times, look at the clock by the bed, and at that time may remember what I was dreaming
Bolonath Crystal: ah
Bolonath Crystal: i fall asleep when i go to bed and wake up somewhen in the morning. sometimes i remember my dreams, sometimes i don't, but i never know about the time when i dreamed
Calvino Rabeni: Yes, Darren, I think one can get a head start on that process before going to sleep
Calvino Rabeni: The morning dreams get interrupted by waking
Darren Islar: I'm not sure Cal, I just don't know
Calvino Rabeni: sometimes I go back to continue them a little
Calvino Rabeni: Not sure what, Darren?
Darren Islar: research shows that we do some tasks better after sleeping
Bolonath Crystal: oh, yes, i remember some dreams which were interrupted by the alarm. these must have been morning dreams ;)
Bolonath Crystal: but i am not so sure if the dreams were interrupted or maybe rather induced by the alarm
Darren Islar: well, I'm afraid I'm not in my brain while sleeping, but I think something happens there that is more profound then what we can do during daytime
Darren Islar: or during the periods we are awake
Bolonath Crystal: as i read, some dreams which seem to last for hours actually happen within a single second
--BELL--
Darren Islar: yes, well they don't seem to be able to agree on that
Calvino Rabeni: Possibly - how could that be verified?
Bolonath Crystal: well, i have to continue my rl dream
Bolonath Crystal: have a nice day or night or whatever *g*
Darren Islar: dream well Bolo :))
Darren Islar: bye
Bolonath Crystal: om shanti :)
Calvino Rabeni: ah, *that* one :)
Calvino Rabeni: _/!\_
Calvino Rabeni: Well then, let's wrap this session :)
Darren Islar: yes, let's do that
Calvino Rabeni: Bye for now, Darren :)
Darren Islar: bye Cal :)
Darren Islar: sleep well
