The Guardian for this meeting was Eos Amaterasu. The comments are by Eos Amaterasu.

    Eos Amaterasu: Nada

    Eos Amaterasu: Hi Cal, Para

Eos Amaterasu: I'm actually (in RL) at Windhorse Farm, in Nova Scotia

Eos Amaterasu: Internet seems to be good enough to do SL

    Paradise Tennant: smiles

    Paradise Tennant: hiya eos cal

Eos Amaterasu: quiet and dark here

Calvino Rabeni: Whats happening at the Farm today?

    Calvino Rabeni: Hi Paradise

Eos Amaterasu: I'm here for a day and a half meeting

Eos Amaterasu: We'll be doing a RL retreat here in a month

    Eos Amaterasu: Hi stevenaia

    stevenaia Michinaga: hello

    stevenaia Michinaga: hi Paradise

    stevenaia Michinaga: , Calvno

    Paradise Tennant: hi steve

    stevenaia Michinaga: the pillows arrived

Eos Amaterasu: Any suggestions for how to leap into the upcoming 90 secs?

Calvino Rabeni: I will stop multitasking, that should help

Paradise Tennant: we could ponder a timeless eternity :)

Paradise Tennant: or maybe .. good east coast seafood

    --BELL--

Eos Amaterasu: stopping multitasking is a good one

Eos Amaterasu: then you're not going anywhere

stevenaia Michinaga: seafood is never a good theme to meditate on

    stevenaia Michinaga: gets me hungry

    Paradise Tennant: smiles

stevenaia Michinaga: then I thought... how do I know it's East coast seafood

    Paradise Tennant: lol

    Paradise Tennant: different taste :)

stevenaia Michinaga: are you clear of the demonstrations Paradise?

    Paradise Tennant: thankfully yes

Paradise Tennant: was a very unpleasant weekend

    stevenaia Michinaga: so it appeared

Paradise Tennant: dog would not go more than 50 feet outside the front door.. he could smell crazy in the air

Paradise Tennant: we stayed in .. ate canned soup and crackers :) read .. :) meditated on peaceful themes :)

    stevenaia Michinaga: you and dog?

Paradise Tennant: but aweful to hear the shouting .. the sirens running all night so many tense police everywhere

    Paradise Tennant: smiles yes

Paradise Tennant: smiles apparently paned glass was very big in crowd disfavour there is very little left of it ... up and down bay street

Paradise Tennant: was unsettling to see even my corner store 's window's boarded up for seige

stevenaia Michinaga: wonders what the point of it all was?

Paradise Tennant: hmm does violence have a real point

Eos Amaterasu: those who feel they do not have a voice use their arms and legs

    stevenaia Michinaga: against glass

Eos Amaterasu: kind of like a baby

Paradise Tennant: smiles a very cranky one :)

Eos Amaterasu: it takes a kind of genius to mobilize effective (especially, non-violent) action (not so much "peace" as truth-force: satyagraha)

    Paradise Tennant: smiles at eos

    --BELL--

Eos Amaterasu: patient action as a potent weapon: rare

Paradise Tennant: like that term truth force ..satyagraha :) if pila were here the link woudl be up already

    Eos Amaterasu: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satyagraha

Eos Amaterasu: meeting the pain of things as they are with some steady connection with your deep pain

Calvino Rabeni: It seems to me the typical discussion meeting in SL - excepting perhaps this one - is far from nonviolent.

Calvino Rabeni: It seems that attacks are accepted "business as usual"

    Calvino Rabeni: Whew!

Calvino Rabeni: *Even* those prefixed by a moderator with "please be polite, no attacks, etc."

stevenaia Michinaga: restaint, and patience are difficult for many

Calvino Rabeni: Even when asked, reminded, and it's clear the setting wants it ... they don't / won't / cannot.

Eos Amaterasu: There's a tendency to want to avoid the painful points: that creates a desert that is called "peace"

Eos Amaterasu: Trick is how to meet the painful point, and not get overamped by your pain

Calvino Rabeni: I agree with that

Eos Amaterasu: Meeting such points requires a kind of energy, force

Eos Amaterasu: ultimately it's the force of life

Paradise Tennant: am always kind of confused .. when I encounter pain

    Eos Amaterasu listens

Paradise Tennant: mostly think .. what ever it is I am experiencing is not real .. more confusion .. and misintepretation

Paradise Tennant: so although I feel the hurt .. I also doubt it :)

Paradise Tennant: joy .. i am rather greedy with :)

Paradise Tennant: never seem to doubt it but if I were to be logical it is just as doubt ful :)

stevenaia Michinaga: greedy? as in not letting joy go?

    Paradise Tennant: lol

Paradise Tennant: wanting it to be really real

stevenaia Michinaga: not sure many doubt joy is real

Eos Amaterasu: even in joy there's poignancy in its not lasting

Eos Amaterasu: but also pain can create identity and solidity

    Paradise Tennant: lol

    --BELL--

Calvino Rabeni: Pain can be a great source of growth and character ... or just cause dullness and rigidity.

Paradise Tennant: are they really different ..joy and pain they feel different .. if we sit for 90 seconds and think on joy it feels like one thing if we sit for 90 seconds and think on say our most painful experience it seems another .. but it is still just thinking :)

Calvino Rabeni: It depends on so much, I suppose.

Eos Amaterasu: appreciate the presence of joy / appreciate the presence of pain (?)

Calvino Rabeni: And now, a commercial message: http://wiki.playasbeing.org/Notices/Wiki_Editor_Changes

    Paradise Tennant: lol

    Eos Amaterasu: cool

Calvino Rabeni: I've been working on that, Eos ... recently I find they are good meditations, when tired / sick

Paradise Tennant: very clever cal :)

    stevenaia Michinaga: :)

stevenaia Michinaga: Time to sleep, night all

Eos Amaterasu: doesn't stop the joy or the pain, but maybe makes their transitoriness, their presentation-ness, more visible

    Eos Amaterasu: bye Steve

Calvino Rabeni: I'll go too - Lucinda and I are going to take a clue from PaB and watch the DVD "Kiki's Delivery Service" :)

Paradise Tennant: sigh I should go too ... nice moon out there tonight :)

Eos Amaterasu: Me too to go.... late

Eos Amaterasu: Bye and thanks Cal, Paradise

    Calvino Rabeni: Bye everyone :)
