The Guardian for this meeting was Agatha Macbeth. The comments are by Agatha Macbeth.

I arrived at the Pagoda to find Sharon interviewing Wester for the Chronicles in IM.

    Qt Core: hi Subaru, Agatha
    Agatha Macbeth: Hi QT
    Subaru Arun: Hi QT :)

    --BELL--

    Qt Core: Hi Calvino
    Agatha Macbeth: Hello Cal
Calvino Rabeni: Good day everyone !
    Wester Kiranov: Hi Cal
SophiaSharon Larnia: Hi Qt, Agatha, Calvino and Subaru :)
    Subaru Arun: Hi Calvino :)
SophiaSharon Larnia: oops and Wester :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Hehe
Wester Kiranov: I think we've met already ;)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: laughs
Agatha Macbeth: Do we have anything to talk about this evening?
Agatha Macbeth: (Or morning or afternoon as the case may be)
Calvino Rabeni: How about interspecies communication ?
Qt Core: it seem we don't
Agatha Macbeth: Sounds good to me :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Hi Bleu
    Subaru Arun: Hello Bleu
    Bleu Oleander: hi everyone :)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: hi Bleu
Qt Core: as if we can communicate well just with our own ;-)
Calvino Rabeni: There were some puppies brought to the house next to my kitchen
    Qt Core: hi Bleu
Calvino Rabeni: they grew up fast, became barky dogs
    Wester Kiranov: hi Bleu
Calvino Rabeni: when I wash at the kitchen sink, they are suspicious and won't stop barking

    --BELL--

Calvino Rabeni: so I decided I would cure them of it
    SophiaSharon Larnia: hi Zon
    Zon Quar: hello...
    Qt Core: Hi Zon
    Wester Kiranov: hi zon
    Qt Core: hi
Agatha Macbeth: How did you go about it then Cal?
    Bleu Oleander: hi Zon
    Agatha Macbeth: Hi Zon
    Subaru Arun: Hello Zon :)
Calvino Rabeni: I opened the kitchen window, and made lots of noise, clanking and running water and clinking dishes and flatware
Calvino Rabeni: and after awhile they just got bored
Calvino Rabeni: and figured, "nothing to see here"
Calvino Rabeni: so no more barking :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Aww
Wester Kiranov: how long did you have to clank?
    Agatha Macbeth: Com-pa-shun :)
    Agatha Macbeth: In reverse...
Calvino Rabeni: Only as long as it took to do the dishes :)
Agatha Macbeth: Surprised the dogs didn't offer to dry :)
Agatha Macbeth: Spain just beat Portugal 1-0
Qt Core: i seem to communicate well with dog... it's a pity the only message we send each other is mutual dislike
SophiaSharon Larnia: gtg bye everyone ^^
Agatha Macbeth: Just tell him to leave your leg alone ;-)
    Qt Core: bye Sophia
    SophiaSharon Larnia: waves
    Agatha Macbeth: C ya Shaz
    Subaru Arun: Bye Sharon :)
    Wester Kiranov: bye sophia
Bleu Oleander: me too, cu :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Bye Bleu
Subaru Arun: Bye for now Bleu
Wester Kiranov: well, then I'm off too. bye bleu, bye everybody
    Qt Core: bye Wester
    Agatha Macbeth: See ya Wester
    Subaru Arun: Bye Wester :)
Subaru Arun: I seem to have arrived upon a quiet session :)
    Subaru Arun: Bye for now
    Qt Core: :) Bye
    Agatha Macbeth: C ya :)

This sudden exodus leaves Me, Cal and QT in the Pagoda...

Calvino Rabeni: Can't have that ... another topic perhaps?
    Calvino Rabeni: The World Cup?
Agatha Macbeth: As long as it's not logging :p
Qt Core: are byou really proposing to speak about the current world cup to an italian ;-)
Agatha Macbeth: Yeah, who's gonna win QT?
Calvino Rabeni: What is your feeling about logging, Agatha ?
Agatha Macbeth: I think people are going on about it way too much
Calvino Rabeni: Too much for what ?

    --BELL--

Qt Core: don't really know, this year, even before italian team debacle i wasn't enjoying the matches
Agatha Macbeth: Either a) you record peoples' comments or b) you don't. It's really that simple IMHO
Agatha Macbeth: I think I fancy Holland now
Qt Core: i'm approaching it from a negative pov, i hope brasil nor argentina would win
Calvino Rabeni: Ah, so it comes down to just a basic logic statement?
Agatha Macbeth: Spain always have a chance too
    Agatha Macbeth: Well, yeah...
    Calvino Rabeni: Hello Wol
Wol Euler: hello qt, agatha, cal
    Qt Core: hi wol
    Agatha Macbeth: Hi Wol
Calvino Rabeni: We have logging and the world cup as competing topics]
    Wol Euler: ah :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Fascinating eh?
    Wol Euler: hello yaku
Qt Core: i wonder ow people against logging act about people saving local chat and or IM
Calvino Rabeni: Yaku - glad you're here
    Yakuzza Lethecus: ah, dream
Agatha Macbeth: Are you stopping or passing through Yaku :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: i think i am leaving already yes
Yakuzza Lethecus: i forgot about the dreamworkshop
Agatha Macbeth: Ach, mein Gott! :)
Qt Core: have fun then, Yaku
    Agatha Macbeth: Dream on Yaku
Agatha Macbeth: Now I've lawst me fred
    Agatha Macbeth reads back
Agatha Macbeth: Well to answer your question QT, people can still record their own chat or IM irrespective of logging
Agatha Macbeth: So for me it invalidates the whole issue really
Wol Euler: I suspect that the issue is publishing, not recording as such
    Agatha Macbeth: Mm, probably
Sartre Placebo: yes, becaue we all are loggin
Qt Core: yes, i'm wondering about/if these non logging people think about that kind of logging
Agatha Macbeth: But people would still have a record of what is said nontheless
    Wol Euler: hello sartre
Wol Euler: sure, but the whole world would not.
Agatha Macbeth: Actually would they even think about that?
Wol Euler: that is the difference, if I understand it correctly
Sartre Placebo: i remember wol´s kind reminders that emererald updates make logging stop
    Agatha Macbeth: Hi Satre
    Wol Euler: :)
Agatha Macbeth: (This bloke gets around)
Qt Core: who tells you wol that someone will not publish them somewhere, not respecting sl terms ?
    Wol Euler: nobody, of course.
    Qt Core: hi sartre
Wol Euler: but we *do* say that we *will* publish them
    Sartre Placebo: yaku here
Agatha Macbeth: Anyone could publish them elsewhere online from their own records, without permission
Sartre Placebo: i don´t have the philclass today so i can multitask around here a little :)
    Wol Euler: :)
Qt Core: went to the dream workshop
Agatha Macbeth: Multitasking is good if you can do it [grin]
Sartre Placebo: i can´t but it helps not to get stuck in topics
Sartre Placebo: i only should go to 7 am sessions anymore
    Sartre Placebo: shoulnd´tn
    Wol Euler: :)
Calvino Rabeni: The odd thing is, I haven't heard people express, what effect logging and publishing to the world, has on their own expression and experience
Sartre Placebo: i am too tired and not present at all by then
    Wol Euler: hello darren
    Sartre Placebo: hey darren
    Darren Islar: hi everyone
Sartre Placebo: no dream workshop today darren ?
    Agatha Macbeth: Hi Darren
Qt Core: i usually remember we log ourselves after the session in which i said something very silly ;-)
    Calvino Rabeni: hehe
    Agatha Macbeth: Ha ha QT
    Darren Islar: I don't know
    Qt Core: hi Darren
Darren Islar: but lost my interest a bit
Agatha Macbeth: I think we all do that
    Sartre Placebo: ok
Sartre Placebo: it´s happening, i just wanted to remind you
    Darren Islar: thanks

I notice that everyone is unusually congregated on one side of the fountain...

Agatha Macbeth: This must be the deep end of the pool...
    Wol Euler grins
    Darren Islar: :)
Calvino Rabeni: No, that's over there :)
Agatha Macbeth looks for the diving board
Darren Islar: we are trying to give it more balance
Agatha Macbeth: Looks like we failed :))
Wol Euler: at least we're symmetrical again
    Agatha Macbeth: Kinda
    Wol Euler: absolutely.
Wol Euler: mirror symmetry through the brown cushion between / behind us
    Darren Islar: yes
Agatha Macbeth: Ah, but four blues and two reds
    Wol Euler: ah
Wol Euler: well, that is Storm's doing.
    Agatha Macbeth: (Colours count)
Wol Euler: we'd all have to shift along three places to solve that too

    --BELL--

Agatha Macbeth looks round to see if anyone is moving
Wol Euler: actually, no, it's probably not solveable with this number of people in this arrangement
Darren Islar: so, I can stay put :)
    Wol Euler: indeed, please do
Calvino Rabeni: I thought World Cup would win over Logging as a topic
Calvino Rabeni: So even the World Cup has the same degree of philosophical interest as Logging, I'd say
Qt Core: never took color as a simmetry parameter, but as most knows as a male i'm almost colorblind ;-)
Wol Euler makes the sign of the cross.
Agatha Macbeth heads the cross into the net
    Agatha Macbeth: :)
    Wol Euler: heh
Agatha Macbeth: Jesus was not amused...
Qt Core: the day after we fot out of the world cup was a funny and angering day
    Agatha Macbeth: Same here!
Qt Core: funny seeing all those people going around with a broken heart about 22 people in shorts and angering as there are much more serious things to feel like that about

(Italy had 22 players??  Offensive and Defensive unit maybe :p)

    Wol Euler nods.
Agatha Macbeth: Saves them going on about your PM anyway
Qt Core: i obviously would have liked another result, but to be honest we knew since many months we would be bad (maybe not so bad)
Calvino Rabeni: Some people are interested in sports and philosophy - probably a very small population, I might guess
Agatha Macbeth: Much the same with our lot
Calvino Rabeni: since they are regarded as non-overlapping subjects
Wol Euler: wasn't Freddie Ayer a great football fan?
Agatha Macbeth: Well you often need to be philosophical where England are concerned ;-)
Wol Euler: and Albert Camus was goalkeeper for the Oran team
    Agatha Macbeth: He was?
    Wol Euler: mmhmm
Agatha Macbeth: Must have missed that

(Over 'ere Albert- on me 'ed san)

Wol Euler: one of my remote uncles possibly played against him
Wol Euler: we can't work it out exactly, but the dates are right
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah...possibly
Calvino Rabeni: What can google turn up...Hmmm, here's an article about the World Cup in relation to the perspectve model of Ken Wilber
    Calvino Rabeni: http://goal.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/0...rant-approach/
Calvino Rabeni: ... not sure I'm ready for that :)
Agatha Macbeth: This should be good
    Calvino Rabeni: Cognitive dissonance :)
Qt Core: if i remember it right http://www.volleyhall.org/jvelasco.html has a degree in philosophy
    Agatha Macbeth: My God
Qt Core: (a volleyball coach who won very much with italian teams and italians nationals team, both male and female)
Agatha Macbeth: I played beach volleyball in my youth, that was fun
    Wol Euler: hello ara
    Darren Islar: hi Ara
    Qt Core: hi ara
    Agatha Macbeth: Hi Arabella :)
Qt Core: i tried to play volleyball as a sport, but around here at around 14 (at the time) or you chose to be serious, a team, championship and all or no more organized sport
Wol Euler: school put me off organized sport permanently
    Agatha Macbeth: Oops Ara crashed
    arabella Ella: Hiya
Agatha Macbeth: Hang in there Ara :)
    arabella Ella: he he

    --BELL--

    arabella Ella: hanging
    Darren Islar: hi agian

At this point I have a somewhat embarassing confession...I totally misunderstood Darren's typo and began looking round for a noob named Agian to give him a notecard [sighs].

Agatha Macbeth: We're all over here on account of symmetry, alledgedly
Qt Core: even the blue on her back left would be good for simmetry

People now begin to indulge in the old 'PaB Cushion Hop'...

    Agatha Macbeth: Ah, musical cushions
Calvino Rabeni: Now it seems, only Wol can move without breaking symmetry
arabella Ella: why is symmetry so contagious i wonder
Agatha Macbeth: If she moves without breaking wind I'll be happy ;-)
    Wol Euler grins
Agatha Macbeth: Well, that's buggered it totally now...
Darren Islar: and if we hop one cushion we even have symmetry in cushions
    Darren Islar: or not....
Wol Euler: no, we are symmetrical still/again
Wol Euler: mirror symmetry through me & the empty cusion
Darren Islar: in color I mean
Sartre Placebo: we praise you our wol
Agatha Macbeth: It's easier to see with a bird's-eye view (see below)
Wol Euler: yes, we could get that too! if everyone moved one cushion clockwise
Qt Core: woud we unlock a secret prize ?
Agatha Macbeth: Looks cockeyed again to me
    Wol Euler: it is
Wol Euler: cal and sartre didn'T move
    Wol Euler: spoilsports
    Agatha Macbeth: Such is life
    Wol Euler sighs
    Agatha Macbeth: Anyway...
Wol Euler: as we were saying
Darren Islar: yes, what were we saying?
arabella Ella: oh I hate to spoil the symmetry but i got to go
    arabella Ella: good nite
Agatha Macbeth: Yes, what were we saying?
    Darren Islar: bye Ara
    Agatha Macbeth: Bye Ara
Wol Euler: goodnight ara, take care
    Agatha Macbeth: Something about volleyball?
    Darren Islar waves
    Qt Core: bye Darren
    Agatha Macbeth: Sine waves

A newcomer (real this time!!!) arrives...

    Darren Islar: hi Fem
Femtasia Rexen: hello , mind if I sit in
    Wol Euler: hello femtasia
    Wol Euler: sure, please do
    Agatha Macbeth: Please do
    Agatha Macbeth: Snap
Wol Euler: I'll give you a notecard, and an introduction in IM
    Femtasia Rexen: oh thank you
    Qt Core: hi Femtasia
Agatha Macbeth: Do you like volleyball and symmetry Femtasia?
Femtasia Rexen: ive never played volleyball i dont think
    Agatha Macbeth: Shoot
    Fael Innovia: meep meep! :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Hi Fael :)
    Darren Islar: hi Fae;
    Agatha Macbeth: Meep Meep ;P :p:P :p :P
    Qt Core: hi fael
    Darren Islar: Fael
    Wol Euler: hello fael
    Sartre Placebo: hey fael
    Fael Innovia: Hi Everyone :)
Qt Core: one of the few sport i ever liked, my only problem zero jump, always been to fatty for that ;-) but quite good at the other actions
Agatha Macbeth: You needed a lift up QT :)
Qt Core: maybe a lot of helium
    Agatha Macbeth: That helps too
Agatha Macbeth: Oh, and a balloon

    --BELL--

    Agatha Macbeth: Ssssssssssh
Qt Core: or a lot of tiny one... cuter ;-)
Qt Core: i think i hitted (or missed ?) every 90 sec pause... yeah for myself
    Qt Core: (sorry, btw)
Agatha Macbeth: For hitting or missing? :)
    Sartre Placebo: good night everyone
    Qt Core: 'night sartre
Wol Euler: ciao sartre, take care
    Darren Islar: night Sartre
Agatha Macbeth: Gute Nacht Sartre :)
Qt Core: it depend on which side of the bell you are, Agatha :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Hm, yes
Agatha Macbeth: This is also true
Darren Islar: adn hushing in one break and talking to another isn't doing the trcik

    SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;-)

    Fael Innovia: Hi Cal :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Indeed
    Darren Islar: wb Cal
    Calvino Rabeni: ty
Agatha Macbeth: Where did you go Cal?
Calvino Rabeni: There was a router or net problem, cause SL to dump me into RL :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Ouch
    Wol Euler: heh
    Agatha Macbeth: Not nice
Qt Core: was you agatha that named our "beloved" PM ? you may be interested in this: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/06/30/wo...pe/30rome.html
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah :)
Qt Core: only detail missing is that Mr. B hasn't filed for compensation
Wol Euler: I wonder why, not like him to miss a chance to take a buck from somebody
    Agatha Macbeth: Good old Silvio
Qt Core: don't think he has some, not even for judiciary expenses
Qt Core: and then it would be bad for his image, like striking someone on the ground
Agatha Macbeth: Fancy hitting somebody with a cathederal!
Qt Core: (publicy, that is ;-) )

    --BELL--

Wol Euler: thanks for the warning, T.
Qt Core: and milan cathedral is gothic too, so quite pointy!

We get a strange message from the Lindens

Agatha Macbeth: Did everybody else see that?
    Qt Core: yes
    Wol Euler: mmhmm
    Femtasia Rexen: yes I did
    Agatha Macbeth: Erk
Calvino Rabeni: Calvino Rabeni for unknown reasons, wonders if cherries grow in Italy
Agatha Macbeth: I'm sure they do
Qt Core: yes, the season is ending these weeks
    Agatha Macbeth: Cherries are nice
Qt Core: sadly they cost a lot, the better quality is around 8,5 euros / kg
    Agatha Macbeth: Whoa
Qt Core: a relative come home from Vignola, the town where that quality is arvested and brought some (at a lower price) they were very big and really, really good
Calvino Rabeni: Cherries may be an antidote to a lot of the world's woes, so maybe that price is worth it
Agatha Macbeth: Big ones are always best :)
Calvino Rabeni: In english at least there is the saying "Life is a bowl of cherries" if it is going REALLY well :)
Agatha Macbeth: If it's a bowl of big cherries, I agree
Wol Euler: I thought htat was "the world is your lobster"?
    Agatha Macbeth: ??
    Agatha Macbeth: Oyster?
Qt Core: about cherries in italy we say one pulls another as they become tangled, you take one and another come with the first
    Agatha Macbeth: Riiiight...
Calvino Rabeni: They come in 3's ?
Qt Core: then the phrase is expended to whatever is so good you can't stop
    Qt Core: rarely
Calvino Rabeni: OK, I get it
    Agatha Macbeth: Sounds good :)
Calvino Rabeni: It is hard to stop eating them :)
Calvino Rabeni: And the bunchiness helps that effect
    Qt Core: got it
    Qt Core: ;-)
Calvino Rabeni: So you can't say "I'll just have one more ..." because you get 2 or 3
Agatha Macbeth: Or 5 or 6
    Wol Euler nods.
Qt Core: or all the basket
Calvino Rabeni: And then figure might as well continue the "roll"
    Agatha Macbeth: Or belly-ache...
Calvino Rabeni: Germans I think, have a superstition about cherries and water
    Wol Euler: o.O
Calvino Rabeni: Does it sound familiar?
Wol Euler: not drinking water after eating cherries, because htey'll expand in your stomach?
    Calvino Rabeni: Yes that one
Agatha Macbeth: What about the other way round?
Calvino Rabeni: I have a German friend who as a child, made SURE to test that hypothesis
    Wol Euler: :)
Calvino Rabeni: which led to a life of scepticism about folk wisdom, unfortunately
Qt Core: we have something like that about milk and water
Femtasia Rexen: excuse me.. I have to go now, hope to see you all soon...
    Femtasia Rexen: bye for now
    Agatha Macbeth: Bye Fem
    Qt Core: bye Femtasia
Wol Euler: bye femtasia, take care
    Calvino Rabeni: :)Femtasia
    Fael Innovia: Bye Fem :)
    Qt Core: have fun
    Darren Islar: bye Fem
Qt Core: one of my favorite sayings about food/fruit is about the watermelon
    Agatha Macbeth: ?
    Wol Euler: ?
    Agatha Macbeth: (Again)

    --BELL--

Qt Core: it is in milanese dialect: "se magna, se bev e se laba la facia) it say that, with it, you "eat, drink and wash your face"
    Qt Core: laba=lava
    Wol Euler: heheheh
    Agatha Macbeth: I see
Agatha Macbeth: Actually, I quite like melon
Agatha Macbeth: I like most fruits
Qt Core: i only dislike ananas quite a lot
    Fael Innovia smiles.
Calvino Rabeni: Personally, I like nuts better than fruits
Agatha Macbeth: Ah, I like bananas
Fael Innovia: Oh, I like ananas
    Agatha Macbeth: I like both
Agatha Macbeth: To be honest I like them together as well
Qt Core: most peoples like ananas, so it is almost everywhere ;-)
Fael Innovia: ... oh that's a funny typo :D it registered to me as pineapple (ananas is Finnish for pineapple)
Qt Core: yes, forgot to translatte, pineapple
Agatha Macbeth: Pineapple is nice, but *very* acidic
Agatha Macbeth: I burns my mouth if I eat one
    Fael Innovia: you're finnish, Qt?
Calvino Rabeni: Same with me Aga
    Qt Core: not... yet
Wol Euler: my dears, I must leave, I'm falling asleep at my desk.
    Agatha Macbeth: Bye Wol
Wol Euler: goodnight all, take care, be happy.
Fael Innovia: Good night Wol :)
Wol Euler: eat lots of fruit.
Qt Core: it temps go higher and higher as they are gpoing i may come there ;-)
    Agatha Macbeth: Truly
    Calvino Rabeni: Bye Wol
    Fael Innovia smiles.
    Qt Core: 'night wol
Calvino Rabeni: Calvino Rabeni wonders if Wol goes straight from Desk to Bed

(Her desk probably IS her bed :-DDDD)

Agatha Macbeth: What's the temperature in Finland then Fael?
    Fael Innovia: right now, 15C
    Agatha Macbeth: Wow, cool (literally)
Fael Innovia: was 23C in shadow earlier today when I checked
Agatha Macbeth: It's been almost 30C here
    Agatha Macbeth: Don't like it
Qt Core: 25 now and 32 in the day
Agatha Macbeth: I wish it would rain

(Cue a song by The Who...)

Qt Core: and a lot of humidity
Qt Core: higher temps for tomorrow the meteo said...
Agatha Macbeth: Oh, not here, please
    Agatha Macbeth: I'll pass out
Agatha Macbeth: I think i will say goodnight all. Have fun
    Qt Core: 'night Agatha
    Darren Islar: nite Agatha
Qt Core: seeing the watch going to sleep may be a wise move :-)
Qt Core: 'night all, have fun
Fael Innovia: Sleep well Qt :)
    Darren Islar: nite QT
    Calvino Rabeni: Bye!

    --BELL--

Fael Innovia: please stand up first :D
    Fael Innovia: meep meep! :)
Calvino Rabeni: Calvino Rabeni likes it
Calvino Rabeni: This would be a good time to get on my motorcycle and go down to the roadside cherry stand :)
    Fael Innovia: meep meep! :)
    Darren Islar: tutututuut
Darren Islar: that's real Dutch :)))
    Fael Innovia: dutch?
    Fael Innovia: meep meep?
    Darren Islar: tutututuu
Darren Islar: and only known to oldies like me
    Fael Innovia smiles.
Darren Islar: need to go, the clock stroke twelve
    Darren Islar: bedtime for me
Fael Innovia: Have fun Darren :)
Fael Innovia: Ah, Sleep well :)
    Calvino Rabeni: Bye !
    Darren Islar: thank Fael
Darren Islar: bye Cal, Fael :)
    Fael Innovia waves happily.
    Darren Islar: can't get home
