    oO0Oo Resident: _/\_
Eos Amaterasu: Hi Samuo (nice ribbon :-)
oO0Oo Resident: ty.. You are looking nice Eos :)
Eos Amaterasu: I lost parts of my body.... :-)
oO0Oo Resident smiles and lets go a little of what feels substantial
oO0Oo Resident: So enjoying some of the songs on 99 days lately... beautiful articulations
Eos Amaterasu: (I think this is now an open session, with no regular guardian)
    oO0Oo Resident: I got it :)
    Eos Amaterasu: that's fine
Eos Amaterasu: Any theme emerging for you tonight?
    oO0Oo Resident considers
oO0Oo Resident smiles.. sees red squirrel in mind's eye
    Eos Amaterasu: :-)
Eos Amaterasu: The red squirrels where I walk are more willing to let you talk than are the ones at Windhorse Farm
    Alfred Kelberry: wuff!
    Eos Amaterasu: Hi boxy
    Alfred Kelberry: hi :)
Alfred Kelberry: eos - a rare guest :)

Alfred Kelberry: it's saturday. what's so busy? :)
    Eos Amaterasu: family
    oO0Oo Resident: *family*
    Eos Amaterasu: (also sleep :-)
Alfred Kelberry: sleep is good :)
Alfred Kelberry: i hope we can eliminate it in the future though
oO0Oo Resident: have heard of sleep.. mentioned favourably in many places
Alfred Kelberry: human's life span is short as is to waste it on sleep
Eos Amaterasu: but maybe sleep is not so wasteful
oO0Oo Resident: could be that much valuable stuff, not yet fully realised takes place during sleep
Eos Amaterasu: it is certainly strange that we beings spend a third or a quarter of our lives in this sleep state
Alfred Kelberry: that's why it'd be nice to move this functionality in a background thread while we're awake :)
Eos Amaterasu: but waking state is probably no less strange
Eos Amaterasu: non forking sleep seems necessary :-)
    Alfred Kelberry: non-blocking sleep :)
Eos Amaterasu: how would you program a computer to not think but be aware?
oO0Oo Resident: fresh as a seemingly lone blue marble amid a panoply of sleeping stars and space
    Alfred Kelberry: attach sensors
Eos Amaterasu: is there sensing without thinking?
    Alfred Kelberry: poetic sam :)
    Alfred Kelberry: yes
Alfred Kelberry: computers don't think, eos :)
oO0Oo Resident: yes.. context awareness and sensitivity
Eos Amaterasu: so what does it mean for a computer to stop thinking?
    Alfred Kelberry: stop?
Alfred Kelberry: when did they begin?
    Eos Amaterasu: indeed
oO0Oo Resident: pretty soon we will need to look more closely at what is and is not artificial
    Eos Amaterasu: relative term, perhaps
Alfred Kelberry: well, i'd be pretty happy with artificial c3po on the market :)
    Alfred Kelberry: or even r2d2
Eos Amaterasu: tweedle tweet tweetle da
oO0Oo Resident: had to be quick to get a raspberry pi ;)
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
Alfred Kelberry: i wish i could see the day when computers acquire consciousness
Alfred Kelberry: this will be the grand turn in human history
oO0Oo Resident contemplates the "grand" turn from hunter gatherer to agricultural society forms
Eos Amaterasu: from sounds to songs to language
Alfred Kelberry: it was grand indeed :)
Eos Amaterasu: communicating internal states through sound waves
    Alfred Kelberry: wuff!
oO0Oo Resident: presume you are on board for "Future Day" Boxy :))
    oO0Oo Resident: Ruff!
Eos Amaterasu: Future Day, that 's tomorrow, right? (always)
Alfred Kelberry: ah, is it march 1st? just looked it up

Alfred Kelberry: oh, hal is featured :)
Alfred Kelberry: yet 2012 and no hal in sight
oO0Oo Resident: Maybe programming overseers, could evoke a result with "Just do it"
    Alfred Kelberry: it's a powerful mantra :)
    oO0Oo Resident: The Nike slogan
oO0Oo Resident: Been away Boxy? Or just not as frequent?
    oO0Oo Resident: pics?
    oO0Oo Resident: :)
oO0Oo Resident: maybe not that kind of *away*
    oO0Oo Resident: :)
oO0Oo Resident: seeing your video about shoes.. reminds me of Australian inventor.. who designed air conditioned running shoes, powered by the action of the running
