stevenaia Michinaga: I arrived and a locally obscene hour only to find no one here (or anyone I know on SL for that matter... Will stay for a bit.... smiles
stevenaia Michinaga: *at....
--BELL--
stevenaia Michinaga: hey you
stevenaia Michinaga: my Boxy friend
Alfred Kelberry: hi :)
Alfred Kelberry: alone here?
stevenaia Michinaga: not any more
Alfred Kelberry: :)
Alfred Kelberry: 1 am - empty session
stevenaia Michinaga: then there is... are we ever alone?
Alfred Kelberry: yes
stevenaia Michinaga: cat bit my toes, so I woke up
Alfred Kelberry: ouch
Alfred Kelberry: those cats... only good for biting and clawing
stevenaia Michinaga: was doing some Qi Gong when my computer's screen wnet to sleep and my cat was assisitng me in my excercises
stevenaia Michinaga: isn't this daytime for you?
Alfred Kelberry: i think so
stevenaia Michinaga: :)
Alfred Kelberry: qi gong? kind of tai chi?
stevenaia Michinaga: there is a series of excercises that are related, Qi Gong, where is it more standing and not not moving your feet, Tai Chi, which is slowr but moving, but the moves are , in fact martial in nature, just very slow, and Kung Fu which is very martial and fast. I think they are all orignally done by monks
Alfred Kelberry: yay! kung fu! :)
stevenaia Michinaga: nods, boxy King Fu would be very interesting
stevenaia Michinaga: *Kung
Alfred Kelberry: qi gong may be useful in a limited space
Alfred Kelberry: i usually do stretches now and then
stevenaia Michinaga: nods, they all halp w/ balance
stevenaia Michinaga: doing them regularly is always good, even simple things
stevenaia Michinaga: good for muscles, good for imune system, good for health
stevenaia Michinaga: good for mind
Alfred Kelberry: also, read an article on birthrate. it seems that it's plunging not only in the western world, but in arab as well. particluary, iran and oman. fascinating.
stevenaia Michinaga: which may not be a bad thing for the Earth
--BELL--
Alfred Kelberry: they sound like advantages advertized by tai chi :)
Alfred Kelberry: the earth can handle it
stevenaia Michinaga: well, maybe
Alfred Kelberry: but it is interesting how education is related to low birthrate
stevenaia Michinaga: not sure anything can handle 6+ offspring from everyone able
Alfred Kelberry: well, i don't want to be the one feeding the growing elderly population :)
stevenaia Michinaga: but we need to count on you
stevenaia Michinaga: hehe
Alfred Kelberry: yea... :)
Alfred Kelberry: except, i'll have to work for 6 people :)
stevenaia Michinaga: looks like I have last year's model
Alfred Kelberry: still, it's quite interesting. it's as if the nature itself has set the limitation. the more advanced your get, the less of you are born.
stevenaia Michinaga: the actions needed to life require fewer people (to make food, for instance)
Alfred Kelberry: food is not problem. we have way more than we need.
Alfred Kelberry: grocery stores throw out tons of expired stuff every day
stevenaia Michinaga: nods, but we used to need many people "get" food
stevenaia Michinaga: many traditions take a long time to undo
Alfred Kelberry: oh, you're right. i misunderstood. same thing i said :)
stevenaia Michinaga: nods
Alfred Kelberry: i actually have seen a movie where in the future an average person's iq has decreased significantly and a random guy from the past is taken for a genius :)
stevenaia Michinaga: I didn't know yo've been to the state, have you been watching the elections?
stevenaia Michinaga: *States
stevenaia Michinaga: sometimes it only takes 4 year
stevenaia Michinaga: s
Alfred Kelberry: what elections?
stevenaia Michinaga: nods
stevenaia Michinaga: my sad attempt at humor, which is our reality
Alfred Kelberry: ah :)
Alfred Kelberry: oh, on that point, i have a nice video...
