Archmage Atlantis: Yes, Koya, ...l. one moment and let me find her card
Raffila Millgrove: he is according to his description a Rare Fish--the Hikari Utsuri Koi
Raffila Millgrove: i have koi too, but not one like that. markings are so distinct.
Raffila Millgrove: oh my gosh. that cat.. saddled with a lot of "meanings"
Raffila Millgrove: state of life that calls for another way--world out of balance And Star of the sea.
Raffila Millgrove: ty for the n/c.. i will open the youtube later... tricky to stay balanced myself here--have to avoid too much going on while viewer open.
Archmage Atlantis: Yes, Hikari belongs to the Isle of Hikari....both created by the Buddisht philospher, Moon Fargus
Raffila Millgrove: oh. Moon. i think he comes here, no?
Raffila Millgrove: did i meet him maybe.. Raffi ponders.
--BELL--
Archmage Atlantis: That is why Koya has a simpler name....responsibility is best worn lightly, even in a name
Archmage Atlantis: Yes, Moon is a part of this place
Raffila Millgrove: Koya M. . yes. it's suitable for this small white cat. I like it!
Archmage Atlantis: Raffia, I have perhaps not been the best host of this meeting....you have the notecard explaining Play as Being? or not?
Raffila Millgrove: oh yes of course. i come here often. thank you.
Archmage Atlantis: Ok, I come rarely now
Raffila Millgrove: oh? why is this?
Archmage Atlantis: But much of my heart is here
Raffila Millgrove: is it time? you have other pressing.. things to do?
Archmage Atlantis: Age, disability, the usual suspects <grin>
Raffila Millgrove: oh dear.
Raffila Millgrove: age is.. a bitch. I am going screaming into the night. i am not going to calm and accepting about it. I am not thilled by it.
Raffila Millgrove: i fight-- in the mind.. as much as you try to hold up the body.. and of course one should--it's the mind.. that you gotta hang onto it.. and keep it supple.
Archmage Atlantis: I hear you sister
Archmage Atlantis: I still scream and deny an d defy also
Archmage Atlantis: What good would I be, if I did not
Raffila Millgrove: well i totally back you in that. it's not that i am afriad of dying or leaving this place.. it's that i want to be in tip top mental shape as long as I am in it.
Archmage Atlantis: There is a quote that goes here, me thinks
Archmage Atlantis: The one that pops up is old
Raffila Millgrove: one of my favorite people. i believe he is 94-95.. he's suddenly losing the mind--he doesn't seem to .. notice too much or care.. but wow... i am .. not doing too great with accepting that.. i think his wife.. is very sad and angry about it too.
Raffila Millgrove: the quote.. are you remembering it?
Archmage Atlantis: Not all of it
Archmage Atlantis: It is something like "if all beggars were
Archmage Atlantis: .....
Archmage Atlantis: then all men would ride"
Raffila Millgrove: oh yeah.. sounds vaguely familiar.
Raffila Millgrove: we should make up our own middle to it. lol
Raffila Millgrove: you think that quote is about age?
Archmage Atlantis: The idea being that our ultimate fate is never of our choosing
Raffila Millgrove: ah.
Raffila Millgrove: yes.
Raffila Millgrove: never know.. how it will go.. when your number comes up.
Archmage Atlantis: Do you still love and respect this man and this woman who is his wife?
Raffila Millgrove: omg of course. i adore both of them.
Archmage Atlantis: Then, in that, is your comfor.
Raffila Millgrove: they have been so kind and good to me for many years. they are one of few people who as a couple.. is friends to both my husband and me..
Raffila Millgrove: i have been so lucky to know them.
Archmage Atlantis: *comfort
Raffila Millgrove: well .. i dunno Arch.
Raffila Millgrove: for me.. i already had a lot of loss.. pretty high. in losing loved ones. so... i never.. am too good at the part where you must face letting go.
Raffila Millgrove: I am experienced in it, more than most.. but it doesn't mean i get any better at it. i really do not.. i think am geting worse maybe.
Archmage Atlantis: Nor do I Raffia......but I try to see reality, tempered by rose colored glasses
--BELL--
Archmage Atlantis: I just keep dropping my glasses, breaking them, and having to make or find new pair
Raffila Millgrove: no kidding. i was going to say similiar.. that i shove them up on my head and forget where they went.
Raffila Millgrove: lol
Archmage Atlantis: lol
Archmage Atlantis: np, Raffia
Archmage Atlantis: Blessings and Namaste
Archmage Atlantis: Bring tea for the tillermn
Archmage Atlantis: Steak for the son
Archmage Atlantis: Give me the momentsts
Archmage Atlantis: when all the winds come
Archmage Atlantis: ....
Archmage Atlantis: Dang, not only can I not sing......I can't even do lyrical text
Archmage Atlantis: Perhaps it isn't meant to be easy
Archmage Atlantis: If I were the Creator of all things, how would I choose what is the thing that should bechosen
Archmage Atlantis: Even, how would I I accept that there must be a choice
Archmage Atlantis: perhaps
Archmage Atlantis: I wouldn't</grin>

Origin
It is speculated that the proverb may have originated in Scotland, though its earliest documented use is from England. The line dates back at least to the 1670s, when John Ray published his Collection of Proverbs. [1] Later the proverb appeared as part of a Mother Goose nursery rhyme:
“ If wishes were horses then beggars would ride,
If turnips were swords I'd have one by my side.
If 'ifs' and 'ands' were pots and pans
There would be no need for tinkers' hands!
