The Guardian for this meeting was Qt, subbing for Bruce, whose ISP connection suffered damage from the recent solar flares. [THANK YOU, Qt!]

    Raffila Millgrove: hi bruce.
    Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Raffila!
Raffila Millgrove: how is your recovery going?
Bruce Mowbray: My health recovery is very good -- but my internet recovery is not going so well.
Raffila Millgrove: mm lot of crashes for me lately over connection troubles.
Bruce Mowbray: My ISP is only allowing me to transfer data at dial-up speed.
Bruce Mowbray: yes. I'm thinking it might have something to do with those solar flares.
Raffila Millgrove: yes. same here.. slows down to crawl. makes no sense as i am on cable.
Bruce Mowbray: wow. That's almost comforting, Raffila. . . I thought I was all alone with this one -- since I am on a rural satellite.
Bruce Mowbray just counted how long it took his last chat insert to arrive -- 12 seconds.
Raffila Millgrove: i feel your pain.
Raffila Millgrove: i've been here lately typing.. and nothing. it doesn't even.. appear. at least we get to see yours.
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, I had that same problem, Raf.
Bruce Mowbray: Either it doesn't appear at all, or else it is pathetically slow.
Bruce Mowbray: I am not able to see you -- can you see me?
    Qt Core: Hi Raffila, Bruce
    Raffila Millgrove: yep
Raffila Millgrove: it's you ok. i recognize the suspenders. lol
    Raffila Millgrove: hi Qt
Bruce Mowbray: Oh wow. That's amazing. I can't even see a seat.
Raffila Millgrove: Bruce is having technical difficulties with his connection. he's in slo-mo.
Bruce Mowbray: Hello, Qt, wherever you are.
    Qt Core: ok
    Bruce Mowbray: v--e--r--y-- s--l--o--w--m--o.
    Raffila Millgrove: lol
Qt Core: almost in front of you ;-)
Bruce Mowbray: I wish I could claim this session -- since it is my regular one. . . but I can't see the fountain, or the cushions, or anything else, except grass.
Bruce Mowbray: well, I just explained that I can't claim this session because I can't see the fountain.
Bruce Mowbray: but that message didn't even get posted in the log.
Bruce Mowbray: so, I'm going to get off-line now.
Bruce Mowbray: sry to be tech disabled. . . It will get better.
Raffila Millgrove: oh Bruce. hope this gets better for you soon.
Bruce Mowbray: Be well, Raf and Qt.
Bruce Mowbray: I'm sure it will.
    Bruce Mowbray: Thanks!
    Bruce Mowbray: Bye for now.
Raffila Millgrove: Qt i can't claim it.. i dunno if you can.. but i have... some other things i could/should perhaps be doing... so if you won't take this person.. i am going to run off.
    Qt Core: i can
Raffila Millgrove: ok. hugs to you.
    Qt Core: :)
    Alfred Kelberry: hi! :)
Alfred Kelberry: ms raff, qt :)
    Qt Core: alfred :)
Raffila Millgrove: oh well the universe tells me to stay here after all. i can't get the LM loaded. where i need to go. lol

    --BELL--

Alfred Kelberry: hmm, i feel a bit uneasy. ms raff is standing and it feels like she's about to leave.
Alfred Kelberry: ah, better now :)
    Zon Kwan: hi
    Alfred Kelberry: zon :)
Raffila Millgrove was leaving but her viewer won't load the lm.. so she stays here after all.
Raffila Millgrove: Hi boxy. Hi Zon.
    Qt Core: hi zon
Alfred Kelberry: yay! glad you're staying, raff :)
Raffila Millgrove: someone needs to claim the session i think. did you go for it QT? (Bruce had to leave.. his connection failed him.. he was set to be the host today)
    Qt Core: not yet
Qt Core: thinking about failing tech, how we will survive to ket say just a couple day without major tech support, let say after a big sun flares ? almost no electricity, no cells fried pcs and so on ? well, there would be time to meditate at least ;-)
    Raffila Millgrove: cheerful thought
Qt Core: let's do the claim before tech may fail me ;-)
Raffila Millgrove: i am very irritable today, my jeans are too tight. i think i been eating too many cookies lately.
    Alfred Kelberry: aww, raff :)
Alfred Kelberry: maybe try pants? :)
Qt Core: i'm quite happy about my jeans today, i succeeded in wearing some i couldn't as they were to tight in past couple year ;-)
Raffila Millgrove: well i have.. just come from garden center with fresh dirt.. amendments and pots.. to plant some new roses.. so.. i'll get some big exercise later.
Raffila Millgrove: oh did you go on a diet or how did that happen, Qt?
Alfred Kelberry: planting roses is a good exercise
Qt Core: sue almost to stress i involuntary lost many kg in past let say 18 months, stress seems to be a wonderful diet ;)
    Qt Core: sue=seems
    Alfred Kelberry: it is, qt
Raffila Millgrove: oh dear. it's so bad for you in other ways. are you feeling better now.
Alfred Kelberry: it's better to stay chubby and happy though :)

    --BELL--

Alfred Kelberry: *notes his plate is empty and goes for another walnut cake*
Alfred Kelberry: mmm, much better now
Qt Core: i just discovered that last week when i had to test a new scale we bought
    Alfred Kelberry: yummy
Qt Core: (and i'm still way more than just chubby)
Raffila Millgrove: is this stress going away?
Alfred Kelberry: qt, maybe uncalibrated? :)
Qt Core: no, raffi, the only option is getting used to it
    Raffila Millgrove: mmm
    Alfred Kelberry: or change perspective
Raffila Millgrove: i don't think you "get used to it"
Alfred Kelberry: as in half full or half empty
Raffila Millgrove: did you ever look into--any book/article.. how to manage stress? how to.. lower its affect on you?
Alfred Kelberry: i think pab is a good "book" on it :)
Qt Core: a few articles, but nothing helpful, sometimes pab sessions are ;-)
    Alfred Kelberry: *hugs qt*
Raffila Millgrove: i looked into it.. when i got cancer cause--immune system needs to be strong to avoid recurrence.. and stress is number one weakener.. of your immune system. So.. i study.. how to reduce, manage, avoid.. Stress.
Alfred Kelberry: oh, cancer. is it gone now?
Raffila Millgrove: oh yes. i am good. survivor for 20 yrs now.
    Alfred Kelberry: yay!
Alfred Kelberry: and yes, stress is the number one enemy.
    Qt Core: good
Raffila Millgrove: but i still .. do all that stress... strategy to keep immune system.. strong.
Raffila Millgrove: as i honestly feel that is how i went down in the first place.
Alfred Kelberry: it can cause many illnesses. or perception of being ill.
    Alfred Kelberry: yes, raff
Alfred Kelberry: i tend to agree
Raffila Millgrove: number one thing I say to self "I don't want stress. i need to protect health. what someone else wants--if it's going to be stressful... i don't need to do it"
Alfred Kelberry: i have a practical advice - do not watch tv :)
Raffila Millgrove: cause if you are blind and someone wants you to drive them to the market, you have to say, "so sorry". I decided that my health reason is more important to me, than anything else. so i can take care of those I love
Raffila Millgrove: so if something starts getting stressful, i am not participating.. if at all possible.
Qt Core: the problem is when the ones you love are the stress source
Raffila Millgrove: yes. i have that. 24/7.
Alfred Kelberry: does the one you love know about it?
Raffila Millgrove: and it is the hardest one--to learn to deal with it.
    Qt Core: yes, they know
Raffila Millgrove: when you cannot physically depart from it.. as you can.. other situations.
Raffila Millgrove: did you try this nine seconds? as a way.. to temporarily stop.. to get clear for a few?
Qt Core: not in a precise form as 9 sec every 15 min but let say yes
Alfred Kelberry: i think most relationship issues can be solved by a honest conversation. if the parties are open to it. which often is not the case.
Raffila Millgrove thinks she and boxy.. going two different (but equally worthy) directions.. so maybe i quit while he continue

    --BELL--

Alfred Kelberry: no quitting! fight! :)
    Raffila Millgrove: (bell)
    Alfred Kelberry: raff :)
Alfred Kelberry: please don't quit on my account :)
Alfred Kelberry: i'm curious about your point
Raffila Millgrove: hehe. now i think there's a new baby in the house.. right? cause maybe Boxy is going that way.?
Raffila Millgrove: you get a baby into a house QT. and you have stress if you don't know lots of babies. it's very demanding on everyone to deal with both physically and between husband wife etc.
    Qt Core: no, no baby
Qt Core: (and no wife neither)
Raffila Millgrove: oh ok. wow. i am out to lunch.
Raffila Millgrove: wonder who has the new baby. well cancel me.
Alfred Kelberry: well, since the rational mind of Descartes the western thought was all about calculated reasoning and we totally missed on emotions. we're not used to fully express them. instead prefer to stay with our assumptions and speculations rather than ask a question.
Raffila Millgrove: keep in mind tho.. that if you get wife and baby going.. you do get stress. just for future reference. lol
Qt Core: i'll write it down ;-)
    Raffila Millgrove: excellent point boxy.
    Alfred Kelberry: that's granted :)
Alfred Kelberry: re: family and stress
Raffila Millgrove: depends on the family... i had a family with very low stress and lots of fun... i recommend that particular family.. if you can make one too..
    Alfred Kelberry: happy raff :)
Alfred Kelberry: stress is good in moderate amounts
Alfred Kelberry: but not self destructing one
Raffila Millgrove: yes but frankly boxy.. you need to have someone in charge who knows who to structure that dynamic.
Alfred Kelberry: and often times, it drags the close ones with it
Raffila Millgrove: the family that one of my husbands.. is from. omg .. the tension and unhappiness... has extended for 50 years and shows no sign of abating.
    Alfred Kelberry: wow, 50 :)
Raffila Millgrove: maybe more when i think on it.. 70 to be precise.
Raffila Millgrove starts to forget how old everyone she knows is.
Alfred Kelberry: in charge... hmm, that's a valid mode. one of many, i presume.
Alfred Kelberry: i think respect is the key
Raffila Millgrove: the mother is dead, but they quote her enough so that her influence.. continues.. they just drag up her quotes like the ribbon boxy.. and make each other unhappy, even tho she's dead.. she still has a loud voice.
Alfred Kelberry: and trust of course
    Alfred Kelberry: hehe
    Alfred Kelberry: that's nice :)
    Alfred Kelberry: but unhappy?
Alfred Kelberry: i guess the wrong quotes
Raffila Millgrove: i drag up my mom's quotes too but wow they are all so colorful and interesting.
Raffila Millgrove: well your ribbon brings Great quotes boxy.
Alfred Kelberry: give us a few :)
Raffila Millgrove: eh.. you want to know how old i am.. as old as my tongue and a little older than my teeth.
Raffila Millgrove: ... what a guy... He should take a long walk off a short pier.
Raffila Millgrove: Be careful! Don't break your arm! (patting yourself on the back too much..)
    Alfred Kelberry: :
    Alfred Kelberry: )
Raffila Millgrove: how's that for colorful quotes. haha.
Alfred Kelberry: i assume you're the quotes heir now? :)
Raffila Millgrove: those are her quotes.. 3 of them. yes. i like them.
Raffila Millgrove: heir to the quotes.
    Qt Core: Hi Mick
    Raffila Millgrove: Hi Mick
    Mickorod Renard: Hi Folks
Alfred Kelberry: the ribbon will have some of yours, for sure :)
    Alfred Kelberry: Mick! :)
    Mickorod Renard: just passing by
    Alfred Kelberry: oh, yes... iching?
Mickorod Renard: off to the iching
    Alfred Kelberry: right
    Raffila Millgrove: oh! i ching?
Alfred Kelberry: i'd love to attend
Alfred Kelberry: yes, raff. another workshop
    Mickorod Renard: yes, come along
Raffila Millgrove: is it in Kira?
    Alfred Kelberry: no
Alfred Kelberry: some other place... i forgot
    Raffila Millgrove: oh. ok.
Alfred Kelberry: Mick, you got lm?

    --BELL--

Alfred Kelberry: Pila is hosting it
Raffila Millgrove: well .. that was 1970's for me.. the I Ching. i still do it sometimes.. take care!
Alfred Kelberry: he's a wonderful guy to talk to :)
Raffila Millgrove: bye Qt.. bye boxy.
    Qt Core: bye Raffi
    Alfred Kelberry: bye :)
    Alfred Kelberry: qt, you're coming?
    Qt Core: no
Alfred Kelberry: ok, i'll go check :)
Alfred Kelberry: you be good :)
    Qt Core: have fun
Qt Core: i'll try, you too
Alfred Kelberry: um, my tiny advice would be - a conversation. but it's just me... :)
    Alfred Kelberry: good luck!
