Korel Laloix: So not sure how to work things.
Korel Laloix: Seems very awkward.
Qt Core: used it years ago, when v2 was quite bad
Korel Laloix: Just wish they would go back to SL viewer one.
Korel Laloix: That one was the best on so far.
Korel Laloix: Once they got it stabilized of course.
Qt Core: after v2 is almost like v3
Korel Laloix: V3 is not horrid like 2 was.
Korel Laloix: I did a lot of SL mentoring when that came out.... saved a lot of new folks from quiting SL for good because of it.
Korel Laloix: Sent them to Version 1.
Qt Core: but then not building, not scripting, not using complex things/clothes i really have basic need in a viewer
Korel Laloix: Voice and mesh were both such bad mistakes I think.
Korel Laloix: Just make things laggy and are only used by a minority with unlimited connection speeds.
Qt Core: i love voice when it let me listen to other's keyboard clicks ;-)
Korel Laloix: If I want to talk to someone from SL, i just skype them.. or just pick up my pay as you go cell phone
Qt Core: yes, but is more complicated, gathering skype addresses, phone numbers... and you may not want that degree of disclosure
Qt Core: they had to add voice morph too ;-)
Korel Laloix: True.. but I don't voice with someone unless I am ready to meet them RL in general.
Korel Laloix: Never played with that...

Qt Core: for people with an opposite gender av may be (never tried) i voiced for at most a couple hours in my 4 years sl life
Korel Laloix: Just never in a position to do it anyway. About the only thing I do voice in consistently is with some Bible studies or services on the weekends.
Qt Core: i mostly don't do it as my understanding of spoken English is way worse than my reading (same way for my accent while speaking)

Qt Core: yes can relate, i was shocked how much english i lost when i stopped coming to sl and reading in english for just 3/4 weeks
Aphrodite Macbain: so you learn a lot of your English in SL!?
Aphrodite Macbain: I hope the English is good English. We speak so much in short forms or jargon
Qt Core: in Italy school you study it for several years... but then you hate it as it is compulsory, then i re-learned the grammar with programming books
Aphrodite Macbain: a very specialized English!
Qt Core: then i gave it a great improvement reading fan fiction :-)
Qt Core: sl gave me speed

Qt Core: never had a great balance... even on the full surface of my feet
Catrinamonblue Resident: yes it would be hard if you have balance troubles
Qt Core: yes, the ice would have to be very hard ;-)
Aphrodite Macbain: and your leg and ankle muscles well developed
Aphrodite Macbain: I remember learning to skate and my ankles would be scraping along the ice

Catrinamonblue Resident: with Gwen's co-op I'm driving between 2.5 and 4 hours about 3 days a week. some days she can drive herself which I'm grateful for
