Wol Euler was guardian for this session.

    Qt Core: Hi Wol
Wol Euler: hello qt, sorry I was getting coffee
Qt Core: nb, i may have to come and go a few times too
    Wol Euler smiles.
    Wol Euler: hello yaku
    Qt Core: Hi Yaku
    Yakuzza Lethecus: good morning
Wol Euler: how's the world this morning?
Qt Core: still out there, haven't asked it yet
Wol Euler wonders whether the typists have all fallen asleep in their chairs
    Wol Euler: ah :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: pillows :)
Qt Core: more than sleep is the wish of sleep, when you are awake as for internal clock but you know you may need more sleep
    Wol Euler nods.
Wol Euler: I'm considering when to take my nap today, for that very reason ;)

    --BELL--

Qt Core: i lately sleep too much in weekends afternoons, ending up taking multiple-hour naps and then having problems sleeping in the nights
Wol Euler: that's unfortunate. Do you have an idea why it's happening?
Qt Core: i have such a sleep debit i can't just have the classic 45 min/1 hour nap
Qt Core: and then while sleeping most of the wake world issue don't bother you ;-)
    Wol Euler: whw
Wol Euler: and yes, I definitely see the second point :) I wondered as I wrote whether that was the case, and you were "hiding" in sleep
Yakuzza Lethecus: for the the last two weeks we are now able to sleep whole core nights again
    Wol Euler cheers!
Wol Euler: that must be a relief
    Yakuzza Lethecus: its really good
Qt Core: yes, sometimes i do that too
Wol Euler: I'll give you a tip that my sister figured out with her babies: sleep when the kids do. If they take a nap, you do too
Yakuzza Lethecus: Yes but not during the day at least not anymore since he sleep through the whole night not a problem
    Wol Euler nods.

    --BELL--

Yakuzza Lethecus: Are you both active in other virtual world
Qt Core: Luckily we are far away from christmas and both my RL and SL birthday, as i just stumbled on this: http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/118a/?cpg=fbl_118a
    Qt Core: no
Wol Euler: only if you count MMORPGs
Yakuzza Lethecus: How of those dots called that tell the rank of the officer
Yakuzza Lethecus: Send those uniforms don't seem to have them
Qt Core: pips ? you can buy them elsewhere (the nice thing of that thing is that it is a (mostly) regular hoodie not part of a uniform
    Wol Euler: looks good :)
Qt Core: more than rank pip i would add the trek communicator to it...
    Wol Euler grins.
    Wol Euler: of course
Qt Core: (but the nicest thing is that between me losing weight and them having a xxxl i my really wear one)
Wol Euler: did TNG have pin-on communicators? I don't remember how that worked
Qt Core: yes, these (http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/f3ba/) on left breast
    Wol Euler: ah, right
Qt Core: DS9 and VOY have a little different design ones
Yakuzza Lethecus: Some Chinese company really should make these with Bluetooth headset function buildin
    Wol Euler: http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/ac6e/#tabs
Wol Euler: oh I'm sure it will come :)
Qt Core: we are used to others listening to what we say on the phone, are we ready to let others listen to the other side of the communication too ?
Wol Euler: mmmmm, you have a point
Qt Core: (evilly thinking about cheating people ;-) )
    Qt Core: Tribbles!
    Wol Euler: yeah :) heheh
Yakuzza Lethecus: It's really interesting how many people these days have tablets and in a star track template have been used since the early 90's
Yakuzza Lethecus: Gosh Voice typing sucks sometimes
Yakuzza Lethecus: And now google translate can even translate send a text to speech directly into another language
    Wol Euler nods.
Wol Euler: and it all "just happens" for us

    --BELL--

Yakuzza Lethecus: I use an android tablet this morning, typing is the worst part
Qt Core: another of today random web surfing... how to meke adults feel old: http://randomperspective.com/comic/34/
    Wol Euler: hehehh
Wol Euler: still, being able to access SL on a tablet is pretty damned impressive
Qt Core: i'm thinking that a 10 inches tablet and a real keyboard may be a good choice for a neat desktop setting
Qt Core: (while if not seated at a desk i think 7 inches (A5 paper format) tablet are better)
Yakuzza Lethecus: I use a nexus 7 right now
    Yakuzza Lethecus: lumiya as client
Qt Core: i like tablets, but i can't really find a way to justify the purchase
Wol Euler <- is a luddite. Doesn't have a tablet, doesn't even had a smartphone.
Yakuzza Lethecus: well u do have ur iPod touch
    Wol Euler: mmhmm
Yakuzza Lethecus: its a smartphone without phone part
    Wol Euler: true enough :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: but u can even make calls
    Wol Euler: skype, yes :)
Qt Core: you know, i was happier when computer weren't social, at most just connected, as it make me notice how little social i am ;-)
Wol Euler: they give us new reasons to be envious of others, and/or to feel inferior
Yakuzza Lethecus: I rationalized my tablet in the way that a nexus costs only 200 euro and a to smartphone 600 but I want a phone as a phone and the smart part is better on a 7 inch tablet
    Wol Euler nods.
Wol Euler: when the iPads came out, they looked wonderful, but I noticed that everyone whom I saw with one was ALSO carrying a laptop as well.
Wol Euler: I took that to be a sign that they weren't yet ready for real use
Qt Core: in the beginning peopbe were't sure they would be good enough
Yakuzza Lethecus: typing is the only real issue for me
Wol Euler: perhaps I'll have another long look at them at christmas

    --BELL--

Wol Euler: yaku, you asked earlier about other virtual worlds. Are you active in other places?
Yakuzza Lethecus: no, not really, logged in to a different grid a few weeks back but that was it
Yakuzza Lethecus: not doing anything new for a while
Wol Euler: I tried a few beta test worlds, none of which made it into "full" versions
Wol Euler: I suppose the nearest thing to a VW that I was active in was Eve Online. It's a game, but it is strongly self-directed.
Wol Euler: it was also, sadly, very dull
Wol Euler: I think those two statements are probably closely connected
Wol Euler: a world needs to offer either society and companionship (SL) or a clear and easy-to-follow set of instructions (World of Warcraft etc) if it is to succeed.
Yakuzza Lethecus: I read about a great battle in eve the other week
    Wol Euler listens.
Yakuzza Lethecus: few hundred k euros in ships were supposed to be destroyed
    Wol Euler grins.
    Yakuzza Lethecus: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...st-battle.html
    Wol Euler: oops! heheheheh
Qt Core: funnily enough i always thought about violence in virtual worlds (and movie/tv) as a way to express violence without consequences (monetary too)
Wol Euler: unlike EVE, where the loss is permanent and very real
Wol Euler: in most such game worlds, death is only an inconvenience and your gear cannot be stolen while you are dead
Qt Core: on one hand it could scare people off on another it gave it more interest/emotion
Yakuzza Lethecus: well I am around pab because it had all those good parts and connection, in RL and habits I like action movies and alike
Yakuzza Lethecus: here there was mica, vicmichaliac, relam

    --BELL--

Yakuzza Lethecus: Maxine, Adams presentations, the ppl are real too, mostly
    Wol Euler grins.
    Wol Euler: "mostly"?
    Yakuzza Lethecus: :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: transfer of real culture exchanged on a virtual platform
    Wol Euler nods.
Wol Euler: that's the point. Nobody would bat an eyelash if we were doing this by post.
Wol Euler: (except that nobody writes letters these days, that might actually be MORE exotic than SL)
Yakuzza Lethecus: I usually just underwrite postcards :)
Qt Core: remind me i have to post a paper letter :-)
Yakuzza Lethecus: but not handwritten ?
Qt Core: just some signed documents
Qt Core: i would not impose my penmanship to anyone i like
    Wol Euler smiles.
Wol Euler: well, my dears, I must start my day. There's shopping to be done before the stores close
Wol Euler: I hope you have lovely weekends
Qt Core: have a fun( ?) shopping session, Wol
    Yakuzza Lethecus: you both two
    Wol Euler smiles.
    Wol Euler: bye for now
Qt Core: and yes, it is time to go on, bye all
