    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey bruce
    Bruce Mowbray: Heya, Yalu!
Yakuzza Lethecus: i hope you got a good day
    Bruce Mowbray: Yaku, sry.
Bruce Mowbray: It was a good day, thank you.
Bruce Mowbray: How about for you?
    Yakuzza Lethecus: middling
    Yakuzza Lethecus: :)
    Bruce Mowbray: :)
    Bruce Mowbray: Heya, Wol!
    Wol Euler: hello yaku, bruce
    Wol Euler: and blueblub
Yakuzza Lethecus: it´s mostly nothing really unexpected, middling i guess is the usual state for me
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey wol
Bruce Mowbray: Blue Blub is grateful to Wol for having found his son, McBlubson.
    Wol Euler smiles modestly.
Bruce Mowbray: and also for his typist rescuing McBlubson from the rafters.
Wol Euler: glad to be of service, always
    Bruce Mowbray: THANKS, Wol!
Bruce Mowbray goes to aquarium to find McBlubson - - or to find that he's swum away again.
    Wol Euler smiles.
Bruce Mowbray: Curious to find a fish that can swim out of its own aquarium, don't you think?
Wol Euler: I had some fish that did so, sad to say
    Wol Euler: jumped out, anyway
    Bruce Mowbray: uh oh!
    Bruce Mowbray: Yikes!
Wol Euler: yeah, it was suboptimal.

    Yakuzza Lethecus: good evening philns
    Bruce Mowbray: Welcome, Phil!
Wol Euler: hello phil, nice to see you again
PhilNS Schumann: evening to you Wol, Bruce, Yaku
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey bleu
    Bruce Mowbray: Heya, Bleu!
    PhilNS Schumann: and bleu
Yakuzza Lethecus: phil, so you know had an introduction to the group ?
    Bleu Oleander: hiya :)
    Wol Euler: hello bleu
Wol Euler: if you ever had a mermaid avatar, we could call you the Bleu Lagoon :)
    Bleu Oleander: nice!
    Wol Euler smiles.
Bruce Mowbray: Phil has been here a few times before, I think.
    Wol Euler nods.
    Bruce Mowbray: Welcome back, Phil!
PhilNS Schumann: I have. I know and agree to everything .. kind of
    Bruce Mowbray: (as has San!)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey san
    Wol Euler: hello san
Bruce Mowbray: None of us agree to everything, Phil!
    Santoshima Resident: hllo
Bruce Mowbray: (and that will probably be part of our discussion tomorrow at this same hour.)
    Bleu Oleander: hi san
Bruce Mowbray: (A theme session on Pabiology.)
    Santoshima Resident: ok, ty
    Bruce Mowbray: Welcome, San-ji!
    Santoshima Resident: ty, bruce-ji
    Bruce Mowbray: :)
    Bruce Mowbray: Well met!

Bruce Mowbray: So, anyone slain any dragons recently?
    Wol Euler: alas, no
Wol Euler: the dragons are beating my butt at work
    Bruce Mowbray: Oh dear.
    Bruce Mowbray: Yikes!
Wol Euler: mostly my own fault, sad to say
    Santoshima Resident: how so?
Bruce Mowbray ponders, "We make our own worlds...."
    Bruce Mowbray: and also listens.
Wol Euler: making silly mistakes, and incomplete drawings
Wol Euler: specifically: not making explicit two tricky details
Bleu Oleander: dragons are in the details :)
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
Wol Euler: there was enough information in the entire set of drawings to make both cases clear, but there was no single place where all the information was collected
Wol Euler: so they both went wrong
Bruce Mowbray: and so is the wonder: in the details.
    Santoshima Resident: aww

    --BELL--

Wol Euler: fortunately there were no serious consequences, the garage will be 6cm narrower
Wol Euler: but it was a somewhat humiliating
    Santoshima Resident: hmm
Wol Euler: I also learned that I need to be much harsher with our engineers, her drawings were no better.
Bruce Mowbray: an exercise in staff-to-staff communication?
Santoshima Resident: hoping someone you work with had the grace to offer a kind word of support
Wol Euler: internal communication was lacking, yes
Wol Euler: but the point of the drawings is to communicate outwards, and they failed at that
    Santoshima Resident: a lesson
    Wol Euler: indeed
Yakuzza Lethecus: do you kind of proofread each others drawings ?
    Wol Euler: yes :)
Wol Euler: but still things get past
    Wol Euler: and passed

Bruce Mowbray ponders communicating inwards and outwards....

Wol Euler: out of the office, to builders
    Bruce Mowbray: Yes, of course.
Bruce Mowbray: Most important for architects to be able to do that.
Santoshima Resident: mistakes are a given. operator error
Wol Euler: it revealed actually that boss doesn't pay attention to things that he doesn't immediately understand
Bruce Mowbray: But are builders forgiving of such "errors"?
Wol Euler: because I *know* that we talked about one of these points, and he suggested the change that I implemented, which then caused the problem
    Bruce Mowbray: Ahhhh!
Yakuzza Lethecus: bleu: how is your spirit of the senses going, are you at some point planing on returning salons to sl ?
Wol Euler: but when we spoke about it, he had no recollection of that meeting and claimed never to have noticed the detail point either
    Wol Euler listens.

Bruce Mowbray: Isn't that called "The Peter Principle"? -- That people rise in the hierarchy until they reach a level of IN-competence, and then remain there?
Bleu Oleander: thanks for asking Yaku!
Bleu Oleander: no plans atm to return the salons to sl
Bleu Oleander: but very busy in rl
Santoshima Resident: sorry that happened, Wol ...
    Wol Euler: thank you :)
    Bruce Mowbray: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Principle

Wol Euler: we survived, but one naturally wonders how many other dogs are buried there (as the germans say)
Bruce Mowbray: a learning experience, it seems.
    Wol Euler nods.
Yakuzza Lethecus: bleu: what kind of salons are you doing recently in rl ?
Bleu Oleander: we just finished a 4 part series on the universe
Santoshima Resident: yes, bridges collapsing, roofs caving in ... good to consider implication of errors and ensure double double checking, a constant through any projects (i'd imagine)
Bleu Oleander: with theoretical physicist Lawrence Krauss
Bleu Oleander: it was videoed for Japanese public television
    Bruce Mowbray: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lawrence_M._Krauss
    Wol Euler: cool
Bruce Mowbray: He looks like a man I'd like to know as a friend!
Bleu Oleander: based on his book, "fear of Physics"
Bleu Oleander: was quite a workout!
    Bruce Mowbray: :)
Bruce Mowbray: ahhhh! This is the dark energy dude!
    Bleu Oleander: :)
    Wol Euler smiles.
Bruce Mowbray: (at Arizona State, too!)
    Bleu Oleander: yes
    Bruce Mowbray: :)

Bruce Mowbray: Kraus spoke at this conference:
    Bruce Mowbray: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beyond_...n_and_Survival
Bruce Mowbray: I would love to have attended that one.
Bruce Mowbray: Steven Weinbereg, Sam Harris, Richard Dawkins were all speakers there.

Bleu Oleander: he directs the Origins Institute at ASU http://origins.asu.edu/
    Bruce Mowbray: hmmm. thanks, Bleu.
Yakuzza Lethecus: also the swedish televison had a discussion with him about one of his recent books last year

    --BELL--

Bruce Mowbray: (My typist had never heard of him before, so this is a new lead!)
Bleu Oleander: great one coming up soon https://origins.asu.edu/events/great...ity-and-future

Bleu Oleander feels very fortunate to know some of these people and attend these great events!
    Wol Euler nods.
    Santoshima Resident: :)
Bruce Mowbray: amazing that you can do so, Bleu!
    Bleu Oleander: yes!

Bruce Mowbray: I am currently reading "Sex and War" -- which seems on this same theme.
PhilNS Schumann: hm indeed. this Lawrence Krauss, his work .. and his style sound very interesting.
Bruce Mowbray: Transcending Our Origins: Violence

    Bruce Mowbray: Heya, aggers!
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey aga
Bleu Oleander: yes very interesting indeed!
    Bleu Oleander: hey Aggers
    Santoshima Resident: greetings Agatha
    Agatha Macbeth: Evening all

    Wol Euler: lemony aggers
Wol Euler: hey, I know that outfit! hehehhe
    Agatha Macbeth: Yeh
    PhilNS Schumann: Ciao Aga
    Bruce Mowbray: 'tis indeed, "lemony."
Agatha Macbeth: Thanks to you I finally found it again
    Wol Euler smiles.
    Bruce Mowbray: on perhaps "bananay."
    Santoshima Resident: haute couture
Agatha Macbeth: Sounds like the capital of an african country
    Bruce Mowbray: ha!
Agatha Macbeth: Glad to see the green fish came down to earth again :p
Bruce Mowbray: ? Sounds like "Cairo"
    Agatha Macbeth: Joel?
Bruce Mowbray: The green fish (aka, McBlubson) is so grateful to Wol for helping get him back to his aquarium.
    Wol Euler smiles.
Agatha Macbeth looks for a maltese falcon
Bruce Mowbray: It was a rough few hours, though.
Bruce Mowbray: He's swimming much closer to daddy now.

Santoshima Resident: look up, aggers ... a strange falcon like object is perched on the 2nd tier of the pavilion
Bruce Mowbray: It IS a falcon, I believe!
Agatha Macbeth: Thought that was a vulture
Wol Euler: oh that's been there for years :)
Agatha Macbeth: I know him well
Wol Euler: I remember the guy who left it
Bruce Mowbray: methinks it is very like a vulture.....
    Agatha Macbeth: Who owns it?
Bruce Mowbray: ... or a weasel....
Wol Euler: backed like a whale
    Agatha Macbeth: Captain Ahab?
Bruce Mowbray: very like a whale.
    Bruce Mowbray: ...
Wol Euler: some guy who came here a few times looking for an argument and left disappointed
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh, Sam?
Santoshima Resident: didn't find an arguement?
Wol Euler: didn't find the kind of anger and abuse he was looking for
Wol Euler: just people talking about ideas
Agatha Macbeth: Maybe he thought we are philosophers :p
    Wol Euler grins.

PhilNS Schumann: odd. it's so simple to find arguments in the whole rest of the world..
PhilNS Schumann: wonder why making such an effort to find one here
    Agatha Macbeth: True that
Santoshima Resident: mostly that is what can be found
Santoshima Resident: if one is looking for that

Bruce Mowbray: 340 POLONIUS By th' mass, and ’tis like a camel indeed. POLONIUS By God, it does look like a camel. HAMLET Methinks it is like a weasel. HAMLET To me it looks like a weasel. POLONIUS It is backed like a weasel. POLONIUS It does have a back like a weasel’s. HAMLET Or like a whale. HAMLET Or like a whale. POLONIUS Very like a whale.
Wol Euler: people go around looking for ways to be unhappy
    Wol Euler: IMHO YMMV

    Bruce Mowbray: Zen-ji!
Agatha Macbeth: I liked Ophelia better
    Bruce Mowbray: Just in time!
    Wol Euler noddeth to Bruce
Agatha Macbeth: Shame she couldn't swim
    Santoshima Resident: hiho Zen!

Agatha Macbeth: Not too bad here
Yakuzza Lethecus: zen: did you create any new songs or remixes lately ?
Wol Euler: oh, I quite forgot. I infer that the floodwaters retretated without any drastic effects?
Zen Arado: yeh just posted one today
    Zen Arado: Trance thing
    Wol Euler: ah!
Agatha Macbeth: Zen Canute sorted them

    --BELL--

Bruce Mowbray was relieved to find [ after some research] that Wol's YMMV means "Your mileage may vary" rather than "You make me vomit."
    Wol Euler raises an eyebrow.
Agatha Macbeth: I always think of YHWH
    Bruce Mowbray: Whew!
    Bruce Mowbray: (Unspeakable, aggers!)
