oO0Oo Resident: OK thanks.. nice to see ya

Agatha Macbeth: Always good to hear someone is good
oO0Oo Resident: lol.. love your outfit :) Is that for St. Patricks day?
Agatha Macbeth: Yes! Which was yesterday :(
Agatha Macbeth: I tend to be busy on saturdays however
Agatha Macbeth: Where's Kiki gone?
oO0Oo Resident: You have the body to wear such things ::chuckles:::
Agatha Macbeth: Ooh I hope so ;-)
oO0Oo Resident: Kiki.. still here.. just less visible :)
Agatha Macbeth: Awww
Agatha Macbeth: She is cute
oO0Oo Resident: I like kiki.. maybe one of many facets of who I identify with
Agatha Macbeth: A cartoon character, yes?
oO0Oo Resident: Yes an anime character based on a book
Agatha Macbeth: Which anime?
oO0Oo Resident: She is a witch in training.. going through rites of passage
Agatha Macbeth: Great!
Agatha Macbeth: A 'magic girl' then?
Agatha Macbeth: Can't remember the Japanese term
oO0Oo Resident: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kiki%27...livery_Service
oO0Oo Resident: (魔女の宅急便 Majo no Takkyūbin, translated "Witch's Delivery Service")
Agatha Macbeth: I'm scared to open links when I'm here in case it crashes me
Agatha Macbeth nods
oO0Oo Resident: fair enough.. that happens to me too
oO0Oo Resident: a gamble
Agatha Macbeth: Yeh it's a pain
Agatha Macbeth: It's just so laggy round here
oO0Oo Resident: Did you watch Cal's TED video reference on vulnerability?
Agatha Macbeth: You know, I haven't even looked at the emails yet today...remiss of me
Agatha Macbeth: Is it good?
oO0Oo Resident: I thought it was interesting yes. Kind of a good reminder in a sense.. of hmmm.. the virtue of vulnerability, and the messages that shame can bring if allowed
Agatha Macbeth: 'Virtue of vunerability' is an interesting concept
Agatha Macbeth: Most people think of it as a weakness
oO0Oo Resident: right! and so was reflected in show of hands at TED
Agatha Macbeth: (not me tho)
oO0Oo Resident: something seems to say how truly important it is.. a kind of hmmm brave journey.. a leap? To be vulnerable.. that other things can be born?
Agatha Macbeth: Could be
oO0Oo Resident: [be sure to get a pic of your outfit for the log Ags ;)
Agatha Macbeth: Oh i already have one!
Agatha Macbeth: Was at ol's session this morning
Agatha Macbeth: Wol*
oO0Oo Resident: (((Wol)))
Agatha Macbeth: Indeed :)
--BELL--(0715)
Agatha Macbeth: Don't you just hate it when things are no mod
Agatha Macbeth: Gah
oO0Oo Resident: I liked the way your bum tattoo was peeking out from your shamrock skirt for a bit lol
oO0Oo Resident: and no mod is no fun yes
Agatha Macbeth grins
Agatha Macbeth: I'm trying to reduce my ARC to speed up a bit
Agatha Macbeth: Tho i seem ok now
Agatha Macbeth: Trouble is if i'm not careful my graphic driver goes into a loop and i can't move for two or three minutes
oO0Oo Resident: for the readers at home ARC=Avatar Rendering Cost
oO0Oo Resident smiles.. if it's not make-up, or clothes.. it's the GPU... always something a girl has got to tweak ;)
Agatha Macbeth: A girl's life is hell sometimes :p
Agatha Macbeth: Hehehe
Agatha Macbeth: Maybe it's better to just be male and boring
Agatha Macbeth: Nah
oO0Oo Resident: or androgynous and spectacular?
Agatha Macbeth: Well personally I never see the point of androgyny
Agatha Macbeth: It's great if you like it of course
oO0Oo Resident: Is there a point to gender in other ways?
Agatha Macbeth: It depends on the individual I guess
Agatha Macbeth: We are all comfortable with different things
oO0Oo Resident: What if we put mentos and soda in the fountain?
Agatha Macbeth: It's frothy man!
oO0Oo Resident: :))) lol
Agatha Macbeth: That brings back memories
Agatha Macbeth: But getting back to vunerability...
Agatha Macbeth: yes I guess most people do see it as a weakness but I don't
Agatha Macbeth: not for me at any rate
oO0Oo Resident listens
Agatha Macbeth: Maybe I've I've just come to terms with being hypersensitive :p
oO0Oo Resident: Often when people are sensitive, they have some sense of gaurding or protecting that sensitivity.. so is that a question of balance with respect to vulnerability?
Agatha Macbeth: And for me it's a strength rather than weakness
Agatha Macbeth: Yes, one has to be on guard always
Agatha Macbeth: But fortunately I am experienced enough now do deal with it
Agatha Macbeth: When I was young it wasn't so easy
oO0Oo Resident: Then if people take advantage seemingly when we are sensitive.. maybe that is the ground where we feel it could be weakness to expose oneself in ways?
Agatha Macbeth: Oh yes, definitely
Agatha Macbeth: But I would sooner be like that than have no feelings at all any day
--BELL--(0730)
Agatha Macbeth: Hiya Adams :)
oO0Oo Resident: Here's a link for the log for the TED talk Calvino suggested: Brené Brown: Listening to shame http://t.co/ULcQurlD

Agatha Macbeth: Well when i first saw you I thought you were having a late Xmas!
Adams Rubble: hehe
oO0Oo Resident: :)
Agatha Macbeth: The hat *does* look a bit St Nick
Adams Rubble: This is a zauve uniform from the American Civil War
oO0Oo Resident: Oh wow.. What time is the presentation Adams.. sounds interesting.
Adams Rubble: It helped the enemy see you better so they did not have to squint when trying to shoot you
Agatha Macbeth: Zauve?
Adams Rubble: The topic is "Weird Copies of Carnage": Re/Membering the Union Soldier in Granite and Bronze
Adams Rubble: did I spell that correctly?
oO0Oo Resident: any association with the bayonet makers?
Agatha Macbeth: Think so
Agatha Macbeth: Sounds dutch
Adams Rubble: oh my no it is Zouave
Agatha Macbeth: I still don't know what it is tho :p
Adams Rubble: In any case the workshop today is about monuments dedicated to soldiers who had lost limbs in the war and how the sculptors compensated
Agatha Macbeth: Oh, right
oO0Oo Resident: Images of Zouave: http://is.gd/UstYbR
Adams Rubble: There is more information about the workshop here: http://rci.rutgers.edu/~beetham/art_history_SL/
oO0Oo Resident: ty!
Agatha Macbeth: Ok, thanks
Agatha Macbeth: I'll take a look later in case I crash myself
Adams Rubble reading notecard now and apologizing for changing subject
Agatha Macbeth: No worries :)
oO0Oo Resident: :) all good
oO0Oo Resident: losing limbs, a good way to coonect with vulnerability
Agatha Macbeth: Actually, now i look at what you're wearing it reminds me of outfits I've seen Vatican officials wearing
Adams Rubble: !!!
Adams Rubble: and yes to the vulnerability (still reading)
Agatha Macbeth: The male version of course :p
Agatha Macbeth: Hehe
Adams Rubble added the boots; the ones that came with the outfit were very big
Agatha Macbeth: Nice :p
oO0Oo Resident: Can't imagine filling those shoes
Agatha Macbeth: 0.0
Agatha Macbeth: Bigfoot?
Adams Rubble: I agree that vulnerablity can make us more aware
oO0Oo Resident: tenderfoot
--BELL--(0745)
Agatha Macbeth smiles
Adams Rubble: especially if we choose to become more vulnerable to help us understand what other people may be experiencing
Agatha Macbeth: Absolutely
Agatha Macbeth: Empathy
Adams Rubble nods
Agatha Macbeth: samúð in fact :)
oO0Oo Resident: ^.^
Agatha Macbeth: Or was it 'compassion' I forgot I'm afraid
Adams Rubble: maybe both
oO0Oo Resident: :)
Agatha Macbeth: Indeed
Adams Rubble: Like all things vulnerability best in moderation :)
Agatha Macbeth: Yes
Agatha Macbeth: A time and a place
Adams Rubble: otherwise it can crush us
Agatha Macbeth: Too right
Adams Rubble: I guess that is where awareness comes in
Agatha Macbeth: The trick is to perfect defence mechanisms
Agatha Macbeth: Without closing oneself off
Adams Rubble: or see them?
Agatha Macbeth: Hmm
oO0Oo Resident: can feel like it's all too much to let out and let in.. but that may well be an illusion
Adams Rubble: If our feelings are illusion, then definetely yes :)
Adams Rubble: then vulnerability is illusion
Agatha Macbeth: Maybe that's one for the philosophers :p
Adams Rubble: maybe but I feel I am not very good at philosophy and I have been thinking much more about what is illusion and what is not lately. hehe
Adams Rubble: especially concerning feelings
Agatha Macbeth: It's a deep subject
oO0Oo Resident: gracious containers allow... the more people the the less likely an opening? yet powerful... hmmmm
--BELL--(0800)
Agatha Macbeth: I need to move on folks
