That evening, when I walked up to the tea house, I found Stevenaia already there, fully rezzed :-).

    Pema Pera: Hi Steve!
stevenaia Michinaga: hi Pema, thought I’d skip the rezz tonight, show up early
Pema Pera wishes he could ever skip rezzing :)
    stevenaia Michinaga: …smile
Pema Pera: You never know what to expect here
Pema Pera: sometimes half a dozen people waiting already at 7 pm
Pema Pera: sometimes you’re just by yourself
Pema Pera: makes for an interesting life!
stevenaia Michinaga: well Friday may hve something to do with it
Pema Pera: may be, hard to say though
stevenaia Michinaga: is it saturday morning for you?
Pema Pera: everybody’s lifestyle and location is so different. . . .
Pema Pera: yes, Saturday, almost noon
stevenaia Michinaga: never been here with jsut 2, here comes someone
stevenaia Michinaga: I saw pia around before
    Pema Pera: Hi Adams!
    Adams Rubble: Hi

Yes, it was a slow evening, but one by one we would get company. Adams was the first to join us.

Pema Pera: Yes, Pia is around the corner, behind us, Steve, afk it seems
Adams Rubble: Are we meeting out here?
    Pema Pera: we could :)
stevenaia Michinaga: no one is inside
Adams Rubble: what a difference from last night
    Pema Pera: :)
Pema Pera: Steve and I were just commenting on how different each meeting is here
stevenaia Michinaga: Pema was just commenting the same thing

And Pema and Steve spoke in unison :)

Adams Rubble: yes…this afternoon started wildly
Pema Pera: Looking forward to reading about it! — what happened?
Adams Rubble: big battle between dragons
Adams Rubble: Moon began to eat Fael
    Adams Rubble: then hugged her
    Pema Pera: ?!?!!!
Adams Rubble: then they changed into a dragon and a teddy bear and chased each other
    stevenaia Michinaga: canabls
    Pema Pera: canibal?
stevenaia Michinaga: people eating each other
    Pema Pera: cannibal
    Adams Rubble: different meeting
Pema Pera: I thought you typed canabis
    Adams Rubble: :)
    Pema Pera: typo proliferation
stevenaia Michinaga: you assumed I can type
Pema Pera: I assumed I can guess your typing
Pema Pera: but I was wrong :)
    Adams Rubble: :)
    Pia Iger: Hello, friends.
Pema Pera: Hi Pia, hi Dakini!
stevenaia Michinaga: in time you may figure it out, I have trained many

No kiddin’, Steve! Pia and Dakini walked up, and suddenly there were five of us. Pia and Dakini both looked very colorful and very similar!

    Adams Rubble: Hello
    Dakini Rhode: hi, Pia
    Pema Pera: wow, Pia ! ! ! !!
Dakini Rhode: Hi, Pema, Adams, Steve
    Pema Pera: wow Dakini ! ! ! !
    Dakini Rhode: lol
Pia Iger: We just came from the dance floor.
    Adams Rubble: Hi Dakini
    Pema Pera: you’ve gone shopping ! !
Dakini Rhode: this was my first dress
Pia Iger: Dakini lend me this one.
Pema Pera: how nice, the flow of the streamers of both of you
Dakini Rhode: you should see us dancing
Pema Pera: did you take pictures?
    Dakini Rhode: no :-(
Pema Pera: where did you dance?
Dakini Rhode: Do you know Cashew?
    Pema Pera: no?
    Pema Pera: ah, the person?
    Pema Pera: yes
Dakini Rhode gave you Elsewhere, Majipoor (224, 61, 22).
Dakini Rhode: she ways nice people can came anytime to dance
    Adams Rubble: thanks
Pema Pera: you suddenly sound like Steve
    Pema Pera: inyour typing
    Dakini Rhode: lol bad typing?
Pema Pera: only two typos in that sentence
Dakini Rhode: i always have typos
Pema Pera: and just barely understandable with some guessing :)
    Dakini Rhode: o dear
    Pema Pera: sorry Steve :-)

    Confusion reigned, even beyond typos

Dakini Rhode: i thought you meant the other Steve
Dakini Rhode: i type too fast for myself
    stevenaia Michinaga: … laughs
Pema Pera: only one Steve here :-)
stevenaia Michinaga: there are two of me?
Pema Pera: Stim is Steven in RL
Pema Pera: perhaps you meant him?
    Dakini Rhode: yes
IM: Montana Westland: thank you, very kind of you
Dakini Rhode: oh he is SteveN
    Dakini Rhode: ok
Pia Iger: I enjoy reading Adams’ blog
    Adams Rubble: thanks :)
    Dakini Rhode: so do I!!
    Pia Iger: so genuine.
Pema Pera: same here — I’m glad we convinced her to keep it :)
Dakini Rhode: yes, that’s the way to do it!
stevenaia Michinaga: what is the bloglink?
Pema Pera: must have been a shock for you, Adams, to find out it was visible :-)
    Adams Rubble: yes
Pema Pera: you can find it under PaB, Steve, under the links
    Adams Rubble: a big one
Pia Iger: I can imagine the shock.
    Adams Rubble: :)
Dakini Rhode: is it ok, Adams?
Pema Pera: or go directly to http://rubblebornthoughts.wordpress.com/
    Adams Rubble: Yes, I’ve adjusted
    Adams Rubble: or adapted
Pema Pera: and adopted by us :)
Dakini Rhode: an inspiration to all of us
    Pema Pera: yes!
Adams Rubble: well it is all of you who have inspired
Pia Iger: It takes courage to be open.

Adams pointed to a definite characteristic of PaB: its almost instantaneous effect . . .

Adams Rubble: I have learned much
Adams Rubble: in a short time
Pia Iger: I feel so too. from what we talked here, and the people we met here.
Pema Pera: I keep being surprised how quickly new participants become oldtimers here in less than a week . . .
Pema Pera: same thing happened for Fael for example
Pema Pera: and now for you too, Pia and Adams
Pia Iger: True, Fael is very impressive.
Pema Pera: there is something about PaB that is very . . . .
Pema Pera: . . . . how to express it
    Pema Pera: quick, fast, forceful?
    Pema Pera: inviting?
Pema Pera: How would you express it, Pia and Adams?
Adams Rubble: in some ways easy
Pia Iger: As Fael said once, we sort of looked for this for a while in RL… maybe?
Pia Iger: It is natural we feel fit here.
Adams Rubble: it is an opportunity
Adams Rubble: and I agree with Pia
Dakini Rhode: it’s like when i was doing yoga
Dakini Rhode: things that were hard at first, after awhile the whole group could do them, even the new people
Dakini Rhode: have you noticed that in groups before?
Adams Rubble: It means you’re all good teachers
    Adams Rubble: and mentors
    Pema Pera: peers
Pema Pera: the most important thing I have learned from my career as a scientist (an astrophysicist) is that the power of science is based on the community of peers
Pema Pera: everyone learns from each other
Pema Pera: young people have fresh ideas
Pema Pera: older people their experience
Pema Pera: anybody can speak up
stevenaia Michinaga: but it seems that new discoveries are always discounted when the shake the status quo
Pema Pera: mutual respect cuts across all levels like status, countries, etc
Pema Pera: at first, perhaps, Steve, but that doesn’t take long
Pema Pera: perhaps a few years or decades
Pema Pera: short with respect to the age of science as an enterprise
    stevenaia Michinaga: yes
Pema Pera: I’ve been trying to find a way to do contemplation, my one and most important hobby, using the model of science, my other hobby for which I get paid :)
Pema Pera: using the peer model
Pema Pera: and after a few decades of experimentation
    Pema Pera: PaB emerged
Pema Pera: and this may be it

I started reminiscing about previous dreams of mine.

Pema Pera: When I started the Kira Institute, 11 years ago, with some friends — peers
Pema Pera: my real dream was to establish a Kira Cafe
    Pema Pera: in Manhattan
Pema Pera: instead of the two weeks summer schools we did every year
Pema Pera: something daily where you can go
    Pema Pera: have a drink
    Pema Pera: talk about reality
Pema Pera: but that didn’t work
Pema Pera: for many reasons — practicality
Dakini Rhode: wow this is close
    Pema Pera: YES
Dakini Rhode: teahouse instead of cafe
    Pema Pera: hahaha
    Pema Pera: yes
    Adams Rubble: :)
Pema Pera: and beer in Magoja
    Pema Pera: in Storm’s pub
Dakini Rhode: we could do a cafe in the other place
    Pema Pera: with latte?
    stevenaia Michinaga: or bar
    Dakini Rhode: chai latte
stevenaia Michinaga: some of us like our virtual drinks stronger
Dakini Rhode: and who would that be?
Krewe du Jieux’s Kosher Scotch Neat whispers: Oy! There’s nothing like a single-malt mitzvah.
    Dakini Rhode: haha steve
    Dakini Rhode: how delicate
    Adams Rubble: :)
Pia Iger: Now I understand why Pema is buying the land, he had this kind of ideas long time ago!

Pia caught on to my history, and meanwhile Steve had started to hand out hard liquor, inspired by all the talk about cafes and bars.

stevenaia Michinaga: I’d share but I’m not sure this is a scotch crowd
    Pema Pera: cognac here
    Dakini Rhode: how about manischevitz
stevenaia Michinaga: never offer anyone that
    Dakini Rhode: hahahahaaa
Dakini Rhode: i got it from the SL Israelites
stevenaia Michinaga: there are few good kosher wines
    Dakini Rhode: really pretty funny
    Adams Rubble: :)
    Adams Rubble: hmmmmmm
    Pema Pera: is wodka kosher?
Pia Iger: are we drinking from bottle?
Pema Pera: is it a matter of strength?
    Dakini Rhode: lol
    Dakini Rhode: can you imagine?
    Dakini Rhode: i can’t
stevenaia Michinaga: I’ll consult with my more Orthodox group I belong to (in SL)
    Adams Rubble: yummm
Pema Pera: talking about pubs and cafes, shall we walk over to Dakini’s new creation and talk about what to do there?
stevenaia Michinaga: seems it shoudl be since I;ve seen ti on Saturday mornigns after services
    stevenaia Michinaga: sure

We walked over to the new place that Dakini had created over the last few days. There Steve found a comfortable place sitting on the railing, and I followed his example. Dakini, Pia and Adams stayed in the middle and alas, Adams kept drinking from Steve’s bottle, with somewhat disastrous effects, leading to a very well choreographed wobble and stumbled and a flat-out fall.

Dakini Rhode: out of the bottle?
Pema Pera: what shall we do with the furniture?
    Dakini Rhode: oh my Adams
    Dakini Rhode: hahaha
    Pema Pera: hahahaha
    Pema Pera: poor Adams
Pema Pera: one drink too many . . . .
Dakini Rhode: i hope that isn’t from this bottle
    Pema Pera: wow Pia!
Pema Pera: That must be from the bottle!
stevenaia Michinaga: bad wine will do that
Pia Iger: I got from Dakini.
Dakini Rhode is doing her best to look innocent
    Dakini Rhode: o my
Pema Pera: So innocent Dakini, what do you think we should set up here?
Pema Pera: A river or moat around it, yes?
Dakini Rhode: yes a river and moat
Pema Pera: adn what kind of furniture?
Dakini Rhode: that’s up to you…
Dakini Rhode: we could have the cushions in a circle if you like…
Pema Pera: fits and starts for Adams . . . .
Pema Pera: 9 seconds every minute!

    Adams kept falling over . . .

Dakini Rhode: or chairs & tables…
    Dakini Rhode: 9 second dropping
Pema Pera: perhaps chairs would fit here better than cushions
    Pema Pera: dont’ you think?
Dakini Rhode: why doesn’t that happen to me?
Pia Iger: how about reed straw kind of chair?
Dakini Rhode: chairs in a circle without the tables?
    Pia Iger: natural material
    Pema Pera: reed is nice
    Pema Pera: yes
    Pema Pera: without table yes
stevenaia Michinaga: something in the middle, a centerpiece, fireplace
    Pema Pera: wow, Adams!
Pema Pera: you look very relaxed!
    Adams Rubble: yes
Pia Iger: sidetables for wine bottles are needed:)
Pema Pera: in your own little corner here
    Pema Pera: hehe

Adams had decided that sitting on the wooden floor might just be the best solution given the situation.

    Pema Pera: yes, Pia
Pema Pera: Dakini, do you have straw chairs?
    Pema Pera: or Steve?
    stevenaia Michinaga: straw chairs?
    Dakini Rhode: no straw chairs
Dakini Rhode: i’m sure they exist
Pema Pera: what do you call them
    Pema Pera: reed?
    Pema Pera: there is a word . . . .
Dakini Rhode: i think i know the chairs
    Pema Pera: rattan?
    stevenaia Michinaga: wcker
    stevenaia Michinaga: wicker
    Pema Pera: yes!
    Pia Iger: yes.
stevenaia Michinaga: not sure I can imagine thig group in a shopping moment
Pema Pera: wicked conversations in wicker chairs
    Pia Iger: hehe.
Dakini Rhode: you could pick up the chairs and have a dancefloor

At that point Adams had taken hold of herself, gotten up from the floor, and then she took on a seating position in mid air. Amazing!

Pema Pera: Adams, how did you learn to sit without a chair???
Dakini Rhode: lots of things you could do
Pema Pera: your drinking is improving, clearly!
Pia Iger: I opened my eyes to SL drinking life.
Dakini Rhode: Pema, what do you think about streaming music here?
Pema Pera: Adams just closed her eyes to SL drinking life.
stevenaia Michinaga: the bug sounds and bells are more than enough
    Pema Pera: I agree
Pema Pera: no need for music
Pema Pera: but that’s just my own opinion
Dakini Rhode: do you hear bug sounds and bells?
Pema Pera: others may well differ
    Pema Pera: yes
    Pema Pera: I do
    Pema Pera: you don’t?
    Pia Iger: me too.
    Pema Pera: very pleasant
    Dakini Rhode: no
    Pia Iger: maybe a windcharm
Dakini Rhode: i must have soft speakers
Pema Pera: it is soft, yes
    Heineken whispers: Drink up!
    Dakini Rhode: o dear adams
    Pema Pera: oh oh Adams
Pia Iger: Is she under age?
Pema Pera: what a great performance!!
    Pema Pera: hahaha
    Pema Pera: seems so
Pema Pera: the way you disappear underneath the planks is also pretty spectacular!

Adams surpassed herself, but when she fell on the floor, the limited SL effects made her almost disappear into the wood floor rather than keeping her on top of it.

Pia Iger: I can imagine some asian style chairs here, either wicker or wood
stevenaia Michinaga: pillows are nice for group chats
Pia Iger: stools w/ beautiful cutouts. Yes. Pillow w/ colors.
    stevenaia Michinaga: or low benches
Pia Iger: I don’t how to help Adams.
Dakini Rhode: tatami or no tatami
Dakini Rhode: o dear poor adams
Coffee whispers: Ahhh! Fresh hot coffee
Dakini Rhode: Adams are you OK dear?
stevenaia Michinaga: seems there is a directional problem here
Pema Pera: with tatami we could of course have cushions
    Adams Rubble: just fine
Pia Iger: I don’t want to kneel again!!!!
Dakini Rhode: yes, but how does that seem>
    Dakini Rhode: haha
    Dakini Rhode: crosselegged sit?
Pema Pera: Adams, where did you find that choreography?
Dakini Rhode: we could mimic the buddhist things in america….
    Adams Rubble: groups of thibgs

Adams’ speech was getting to be more slurred . . .

Dakini Rhode: cusions in the center and chairs around the edges
Pema Pera: but it is nice to keep it casual
Pema Pera: inner and outer circle is not ideal
    Pia Iger: true.
Dakini Rhode: well i was sortof kidding….
Dakini Rhode: Pema you have some nice pillows
    Pema Pera: :)
Pema Pera: how to find them . . .
Pema Pera: you mean the red round ones?
Dakini Rhode: lol for a minute there…
    Dakini Rhode: yes
    Dakini Rhode: rust colored
    Pema Pera: my inventory is a mess . . . . .
Dakini Rhode: are they named pillow?
    Dakini Rhode: chair?
    Dakini Rhode: cushion?
    Pema Pera: no
    Pema Pera: no
    Pema Pera: no
Dakini Rhode: this is lovely, Adams
Pia Iger: Adams, how is the coffee?
    Pema Pera: there it is!
    Adams Rubble: just the ticket
Pema Pera: is that what you meant?
Dakini Rhode: do you see the windchime?
Windchime Bronze 12: Dakini Rhode picked the option ‘Sounds’.
Windchime Bronze 12: Dakini Rhode picked the option ‘Sound 4′.
Windchime Bronze 12: Dakini Rhode picked the option ‘Rotation’.
    Pia Iger: I heard it.
Windchime Bronze 12: Dakini Rhode picked the option ‘Rev Slow’.

Meanwhile I was rezzing cushions as fast I could.

    Pema Pera: too much?
Adams Rubble: They are from Buddha Art
    Pia Iger: a bit loud.
Windchime Bronze 12: Dakini Rhode picked the option ‘Volume’.
Windchime Bronze 12: Dakini Rhode picked the option ‘20%’.
Pema Pera: they seem too big
Pia Iger: a bit too fast.
Pema Pera: the cushions I mean
stevenaia Michinaga: a little easier to see everyone here
    Pema Pera: yes!
Adams Rubble: Good if you need some soft landing
    Adams Rubble: this is nice
Adams Rubble is thinking of Dakini’s bottle
    Dakini Rhode: lol Adams
Pema Pera: Dakini, do you know what the cushion was called, after all, in my inventory ?
Pema Pera: You’ll never guess :)
    Dakini Rhode: red japanese poof
    Adams Rubble: haha
    Pema Pera: ah
    Dakini Rhode: just guessing :-)
    Pema Pera: hahaha
    Dakini Rhode: lol
    Pema Pera: you peeked!
    Dakini Rhode: sorry couldn’t resist…
    Pema Pera: hehe
Pema Pera: now we can all go poof

It *was* a rather unusual name for a cushion; no wonder I had trouble finding it in my inventory. After we all got seated, I rotated each `poof’ to let its inhabitant face the center.

Dakini Rhode: hey who turned me?
    Pema Pera: me
    Dakini Rhode: hehe
Pema Pera: I’m the turner of the day
    Pema Pera: turned everybody
Pema Pera: except Pia who was already seated perfectly
    Pema Pera: somehow
Dakini Rhode: do you need to set these to group?
    Pema Pera: how?
Dakini Rhode: so they don’t actually poof?
    Pema Pera: telepoofers
    Dakini Rhode: hehe

That was a good question: would my cushions disappear in ten minutes, given that I had activated my go player group, rather than playasbeinghere Guardian group?

    Pema Pera: Adams did a good poof imitation . . . .
Dakini Rhode: Edit - Group: set to playasbeing
    Pema Pera: on each object?
    Dakini Rhode: yes!
    Dakini Rhode: sorry….
Pema Pera: can I do it on my mother object?
Dakini Rhode: or put on your playasbeing hat first
Dakini Rhode: what is your mother object
Pema Pera: teh one in my inventory
Dakini Rhode: no that won’t help
    Dakini Rhode: here:
Dakini Rhode: set your group to playasbeing over your head
    Pema Pera: rats
    Dakini Rhode: ok
Dakini Rhode: this wont be so hard
Pema Pera: all the objects are already go
    Pema Pera: game of go
    Dakini Rhode: is ok
    Pema Pera: there you go
Pema Pera: let me try again
    Dakini Rhode: do Alt-3
Dakini Rhode: then draw your cursor over everything
Adams Rubble: I must go. bye everyone
Dakini Rhode: you’ll get a box around everything
    Pema Pera: Bye Adams!
    Pia Iger: bye, adams.
Adams Rubble: thanks for the drink Dakini

Adams left, and I again create lots of cushions.

Dakini Rhode: or… just a stack of cushions that’s ok too
    Dakini Rhode: bye adams
    Dakini Rhode: hehe
Dakini Rhode: lots of japanese poofs
Pia Iger: they look like huge chocolate cooks
    Pia Iger: cookies
Dakini Rhode: pema are you playing go with us?
    Pema Pera: so now edit
Pema Pera: I’d be happy to, some day
Pema Pera: have to go in a few minutes
    Pema Pera: so now edit
Dakini Rhode: these stacks are already playasbeing
    Pema Pera: and then group?
    Pema Pera: ah!
    Pema Pera: great
Dakini Rhode: the ones we’re sitting on are not
Pema Pera: so nothing more needs to be done?
    stevenaia Michinaga: hello Rowan
    Pema Pera: Hi Rowan!
Rowan Masala nudges Steven to wake him up
    stevenaia Michinaga: nice hair
    Rowan Masala: thanks
    Pia Iger: Hi, Rowan.
Rowan Masala: oh, this looks meetingish
    Rowan Masala: see you later
    Dakini Rhode: hi Rowan!
    Rowan Masala: Hi Dakini :)
Pia Iger: how did you find us?
    Rowan Masala points at Steven

Rowan had joined us, and seemed to have been teleported in by Steve.

Pema Pera: we’re about to break up, Rowan
    Rowan Masala: take your time
stevenaia Michinaga: not at all, more like a decorating party
Rowan Masala: I’ll see you later
Pema Pera: let me delete the non-PaB cushions
Pema Pera: ready to loose your cushions :)
    Pema Pera: ?
Pia Iger: I have to get up early. see you all next time.
stevenaia Michinaga: see you all sonn
Pema Pera: Bye Pia and Steve!
    Pema Pera: Dakini
Pema Pera: can you try to move the cushions?
    Pema Pera: and Pia
    Pema Pera: you too?
Pia Iger: thansk for all goodies, Dakini.
Pema Pera: To make sure you can now handle them too?
Dakini Rhode: i think it will be easier for me to put down new cushions Pema
    Pia Iger: how?
Pema Pera: okay, that’s fine, Dakini!
Pema Pera: shall I delete these then?
Dakini Rhode: are you leaving me with these stack of cookies?
Pema Pera: just was trying to help . . . .
    Dakini Rhode: i mean cushions?

I thought I had done Dakini a favor, finally producing a few stacks of handy cushions, sorry, `poofs’, even with the right group permissions, but alas, she wanted to have them removed right away again . . . sometimes life just ain’t fair . . .

    Pema Pera: haha
Pema Pera: well, if we are going to make this the meeting place
Pema Pera: we’d better have at least a dozen seats
    Pema Pera: don’t you think?
    Dakini Rhode: yes at least
Pema Pera: shall I delete them?
Pema Pera: and you will put up something else?
Dakini Rhode: we can use this cusion
Pema Pera: sorry, Pia, no reason to wait for us!
    Dakini Rhode: poof
    Pia Iger: ok. be well.
    Pema Pera: bye Pia!
Pema Pera: I have to sign off too
Pema Pera: would you want me to delete these first?
    Dakini Rhode: yes please
Dakini Rhode: how about we allow everyone to copy and move these
    Dakini Rhode: gotta goa
    Pema Pera: sure fine!
Pema Pera: how do you do that?
Pema Pera: are you still there?
Pema Pera: well, have to go now
Pema Pera: See you soon, thanks for setting this up!
