That night, at 1 am SL time, I was alone at our new pavilion. For the first time since we moved I was sitting there by myself, watching out over the neighboring land, and viewing the buildings and trees and water.
Compared to the tea house, the view from the pavilion is more open, unobstructed in all directions. Even while sitting outside, next to the tea house, you could not look out to the East, sitting next to the wall of the house. Here, even while sitting inside, you can look in five directions: South, West, North, East, and Up through the open roof area. The place thus offers a great combination of inner and outer combined.
While pondering the symbolics of that construction, I felt how it reflected the atmosphere in the Play as Being group: open to outsiders, to whomever happens to pass by, and yet also providing warmth and shelter for the insiders, the regular visitors.
