That morning, Adams was already in the pavilion when I entered. We both had experienced a lot of trouble getting in, in a way that was similar to what happened a day earlier.

    Adams Rubble: Hi Pema
Pema Pera: Hi Adams! Sorry, much lag right now . …
Adams Rubble: Things are amiss in SL this morning
Pema Pera: Took me a long time to get in
Pema Pera: First was redirected again to a welcoming area
    Pema Pera: Yesterday too
Adams Rubble: yes, me too, I was transported to a piile of people and then a big horse dropped on us
Pema Pera: Never happened to me for several months . . . . things are amiss indeed
Adams Rubble: I had a dream last night
Adams Rubble: I wrote it all out on the blog
Pema Pera: ah, haven’t seen it yet
Pema Pera: let me read it — just a moment
Adams Rubble: I am afraid I leave myself open for some analyzing :)
    Fael Illyar: Hello :)
    Adams Rubble: Hi Fael :)
    Pema Pera: Hi Fael!

Fael joined us, followed by Maxine, and we all started reading Adams’ dream, on http://rubblebornthoughts.wordpress.com/2008/06/23/dreaming-and-second-stage-15th-day/

Adams Rubble: Pema is reading my dream on my blog
Fael Illyar: I guess I’ll read that too then
Adams Rubble: If nothing else, it is interesting
Pema Pera: Yes, it certainly is — fun to dream about SL, isn’t it !
    Adams Rubble: :)
    Pema Pera: Hi Maxine!
    Adams Rubble: Hi Maxine
Pema Pera: We’re all reading Adam’s dream
    Faenik loves wells!
Maxine Walden: hi, all, sorry to be late, trouble logging in..oh, great please go on about Adam’s dream
Adams Rubble: It’s on my blog
Maxine Walden: oh, great, I will read it, should I do it now?
Pema Pera: Fael and I just did
    Fael Illyar: Hi Maxine
    Fael Illyar: Interesting dream :)
Maxine Walden: Hi, Fael, ok maybe I will try to read it as we talk
Pema Pera: Isn’t it interesting, the stories our mind can make up for us :)
Pema Pera: I like the idea of the Gods competing
Fael Illyar: I find this string of “nothing” interesting in the PaB log for today
Fael Illyar: I haven’t seen that many nothings in a row on the blog yet I think
    Adams Rubble: :)
Pema Pera hopes that guardians are not taking his stage 2 story too seriously . . . ;-), since it was only meant as a rough characterization, not a fixed state you get into for quite a while . . . .
Fael Illyar: strangely, reading the dream pushed me into meditative state
    Adams Rubble: Hi Sky
    Fael Illyar: Hi Sky
    Pema Pera: Morning Sky!
Adams Rubble knows she is some kind of transition
    Sky Szimmer: hello
    Pema Pera smiles

Sky dropped by as well, so there were five of us.

Maxine Walden: back from reading the dream and will catch up on the conversation here
Maxine Walden: very interesting dream, Adams
    Faenik: なるほど^^
Adams Rubble: yes it is that :)
Maxine Walden: if I read it correctly it was quite vivid as well
Adams Rubble: yes, very vivid. I even remember the green grass
Maxine Walden: have you spoken about what feels sharable about the dream to us?
Adams Rubble: No, I just had time to get it recorded this morning and I have not thought about it much
Adams Rubble: There seems to be two competing ideas to me
    Adams Rubble: but maybe not
Maxine Walden: in my experience dreams may suggest something and then try to hide it as well, maybe just like your ‘maybe not’
    Adams Rubble: :)
    Adams Rubble: yes
Fael Illyar: suggest and hide … seems strange :)
Adams Rubble: I think Maxine may be sugesting there may be something I do not want to know?
Maxine Walden: opposites occurring at the same time may seem strange
Fael Illyar: oh by the way, were you awakened by external reasons or did you just wake up there on your own?
    Faenik: why not?
Adams Rubble: external reasons; I overslept this morning
Fael Illyar: I’ve been waking up 5-10 minutes before my alarm clock for a few days in a row now.
Adams Rubble: I never use an alarm clock-I hate them
Fael Illyar: hate or not, I find it better to be woken up roughly than late :)
Adams Rubble: I get up early enough that I have lots of padding
    Faenik: why not?
Maxine Walden: alarm clocks can seem so brutal in their often important function…but interesting that it did not interrupt the dream or its remembrance
    Maxine Walden: for you
Fael Illyar: it wasn’t alarm clock, was it?
Adams Rubble: no but it really isn’t important. I was awakened by movement
Adams Rubble: the important point is that i was gently awakened but pretty dramatically
Maxine Walden: oh, right…guess I was thinking of the ‘overslept’ as not disturbing the dream
Adams Rubble: enough to remember the dream
Adams Rubble: Ah, Maxine, yes that very well may be
Maxine Walden: in my experience dreams may be very private, but to the extent you would care to share your thoughts I would love to hear them
Adams Rubble: I think if it was very private I would not have put it up
Adams Rubble: I think it is about my experience with PaB, and second life, and the transition that I find myself in
Adams Rubble: but I do not know yet what it is telling me
Adams Rubble: I never thought of the fact that you would be reading and it might help for me to have thought it out a little
Fael Illyar: I had a dream about SL and PaB sometime after a week. I think I mentioned it in one meeting
Adams Rubble: I did think it was very interesting
Fael Illyar: Less vivid though. Although somewhat lucid
Adams Rubble: I don;t think I saw that fael
    Faenik loves wells!
Fael Illyar: It was one of the meetings storm was guardian in when I talked about it
Maxine Walden: Can you recall that dream for us Fael?
Fael Illyar: It’s pretty much gone from my memory now, only a few details remain
Sky Szimmer: hey guys. sorry i got to run. very busy today but glad to have time to come be with you all. ciao.
    Adams Rubble: Bye Sky :)
    Maxine Walden: bye Sky
    Pema Pera: Bye Sky!

Sky took off, and Fael had found the previous PaB blog entry

Fael Illyar: Ok, found the blog entry
    Fael Illyar: dreams-and-whirlwinds
    Fael Illyar: http://playasbeing.wordpress.com/2008/06/12/dreams-and-whirlwinds/
Fael Illyar: at near the end of the meeting
    Faenik: ah :)
Fael Illyar: just read storms comments to locate it
Fael Illyar: I mostly just remember talking with Storm in the dream and having problems reading the text (which made the dream lucid as that only happens in dreams)
Fael Illyar: unfortunately, I didn’t write it down immediately after I’d seen it so I only have a few details left in my memory
Maxine Walden: two dreamsto consider in this session, both about PaB i
Maxine Walden: PaB in some way
Fael Illyar: well, it could’ve been PaB session, although I have no recollection of talking with anyone else than Storm in the dream :)
Maxine Walden: what a richness for us as well as for each of you
Fael Illyar: After waking up, I remember being miffed not having a log :)
    Adams Rubble: :)
Fael Illyar: could be I already didn’t remember the topics anymore
Adams Rubble: I thought the sense of belonging was important in my dream but then I am ejected
Fael Illyar: somewhat reminds me of another dream I had a couple of years back when I was starting to learn Japanese and was spending way too much time just reading.
Fael Illyar: The only thing I can remember about the dream is tracing huge amounts of kanji.
Maxine Walden: I have found that just letting thoughts about the dream images come is valuable…yes that note of belonging and then ejected caught my attention as well
Fael Illyar: yes, maybe the one who ejected you is actually you yourself.
    Faenik: indeed?
Maxine Walden: maybe a common theme in dreams as in life is the longing to belong and the pain when feeling ejected
Maxine Walden: I have found that my dreams often ’speak’ to ongoing basic human things as well as specific issues of the moment, resonating on several levels at once
Adams Rubble: hmmm. I hadn;t thought of tat
    Adams Rubble: that
    Faenik: なるほど^^
    Fael Illyar: which that?
    Adams Rubble: different levels
    Adams Rubble: issues
Maxine Walden: and when I first got into PaB I had dreams having to do with the wish to ‘belong’ re get into the practice, dive deeply in…and perhaps a cautionary element as well
Adams Rubble: thank you for sharing that Maxine
Faenik is a hairy black ball with eyes and ears.

Fael brought up the baseball part of the dream.

Fael Illyar: that part about your dream that gods would test powerfulness with baseball feels a bit strange to me. What does baseball have to do with that?
Adams Rubble: and if the dream IS speaking on different levels, some of them might be a bit personal, but they may be the part that is hiding the message of the other part, if that makes any sense
Adams Rubble: Fael, the baseball is not important in itself
Adams Rubble: makes it a bit absurd though
Fael Illyar: or actually, is there perhaps some meaning to first choosing an absurd way before moving to a way that actually has some merits :)
    Adams Rubble: haha
Fael Illyar: like it relates to something you’ve recently experienced :)
Adams Rubble: I like that. I don;t know
Adams Rubble: no it may be the way my brain works
Maxine Walden: but might be clever of the dream to ‘hide’ in an everyday competition such as baseball, the clash of inner titans. One function of dreams is to allow the dreamer to continue sleeping and so making something intense appear mundane can aid sleep
    Faenik: ah :)
Adams Rubble: that makes sense to me
Adams Rubble: I really do feel the baseball in itself in meaningless
Adams Rubble: the contest is more important
Adams Rubble: and I have been a bit overwhellmed by the technological knowledge of so many people in PaB
Fael Illyar: although, you clearly ended up taking sides with the one who was losing in the baseball one :)
Adams Rubble: maybe impressed more than overwhelmed
Adams Rubble: yes, that may or may not be meaningful. I did wonder about that
    Maxine Walden: underdog?
    Adams Rubble: ?
Fael Illyar: do you tend to side with the underdog?
    Adams Rubble: sometimes
Maxine Walden: often I find I identify or feel like the one who is not the powerful one, sort of like being the child amidst grownups
    Adams Rubble: yes :)
Maxine Walden: of if amidst people I feel are so much better at this or that…then I feel like the little one
Adams Rubble: but in this case it WAS an unfair advantage in my mind
Fael Illyar: couldn’t it also be that you don’t want to be the most powerful one?
Maxine Walden: oh, yes, forgot about that detail and it may be important
    Adams Rubble: oh geez Fael
    Fael Illyar: Adams?
Adams Rubble: the motive thing–not wanting to be the most powerful. heavy stuff
    Faenik: why not?
Maxine Walden: one thing about talking about dreams that I notice is that it seems to open up more question s than answers, but that is part of what PaB is about
    Adams Rubble: :)
    Pema Pera: :-}

Maxine and I have to leave.

Maxine Walden: I will need to be going in a minute, and appreciate our talking/sharing about dreams, though of course there may be more questions than at the beginning of our talk
Adams Rubble: Thank you for your insights Maxine
Fael Illyar: more questions is good :)
Maxine Walden: a pleasure to share my interests, but of course there are many perspectives on the dream
Maxine Walden: OK, bye all, lovely talking
Fael Illyar: it’s further along on understanding than just one question :)
    Adams Rubble: bye Maxine :)
    Fael Illyar: Bye Maxine :)
    Pema Pera: bye Maxine
Pema Pera: I’ll have to be going pretty soon too
Adams Rubble: I think there is value in just putting the dream out there without too much comment
Pema Pera: an astronomy meeting in SL starting in two minutes
Fael Illyar: Ok, See you later Pema :)
Adams Rubble: OK, bye Pema :)
Pema Pera: See you soon again!
