That morning, Caledonia was the guardian. She sent me this log, with her comments.

    Hello’s and How Do’s…

    Adams Rubble: Hi Cal :)
    Caledonia Heron: morning :)
Fael Illyar: Hello Cal, Adams :)
    Adams Rubble: Hi Fael :)
    Caledonia Heron: hi Fael
    Caledonia Heron: :)
    Adams Rubble: Hi Faenik
    Faenik: Hi Adams.
Caledonia Heron: I like this meeting area much better
    Adams Rubble: :)

    Of the Faru:

Adams Rubble: I was thinking about you this morning Fael
    Fael Illyar: Yes?
Adams Rubble: Were you at the session when Storm introduced his walking meditation called Faru?
Fael Illyar: Yes, I was. It sounded interesting
Adams Rubble: Have you tried it?
    Fael Illyar: no, not yet.
Adams Rubble: I tried it first last weekend in a meadow and it made me very aware of the surroundings
Adams Rubble: Today I had to walk through town
Adams Rubble: and I tried it on the streets
Adams Rubble: it works really very well
Adams Rubble: I was thinking about the morning you were meditating when you were walking
Adams Rubble: Cal, the meditation comes from Anglo-Saxon magic
    Caledonia Heron: ah, ok, thx
Caledonia Heron: I have been off the grid some time
Adams Rubble: It involves picking up light from behind you when you exhale
Adams Rubble: and put it down in front of you when exhale
Adams Rubble: I got that backwards - pick up on inhale
    Caledonia Heron: sounds magical
Fael Illyar: wasn’t it breathing out light and then inhaling it back in?
Adams Rubble: I thought it was poetical
Faenik is a hairy black ball with eyes and ears.
Fael Illyar: “path of light” Storm called it I think
Adams Rubble: Yes, there is a rhythm to it
Adams Rubble: makes one very aware
Caledonia Heron: sounds cool - I will try it when out in my pastures
Adams Rubble: Storm told us about it at a Thursday 1 PM session probably last Thursday
Fael Illyar: only a week ago?
Caledonia Heron: ok, I can find the log, thank you
Fael Illyar: … I suppose it could be :)
Adams Rubble: If not there two weeks ago
Caledonia Heron: talking of light and hearing Faenik chime in I imagined him to be white light
    Adams Rubble: :)

    Time expansion and compression:

Fael Illyar: my sense of time hasn’t been very accurate lately :)
Caledonia Heron: yes, time compression in sl - there should be a study :)
    Adams Rubble: :)
Fael Illyar: You can do lots more things in the same time so your sense of time gets out of order :)
    Caledonia Heron: yes,
Caledonia Heron: I am on ocean time…..I have been sitting by the ocean the last week
    Adams Rubble: How nice :)
    Caledonia Heron: truly
Fael Illyar: Did you have fun?
Caledonia Heron: yes, it was wonderful
Caledonia Heron: I love the sound of the ocean
    Adams Rubble: yes, very relaxing
Caledonia Heron: it is an endless place of being, to let your breath swim along with the waves,
    Adams Rubble: :)
Fael Illyar: I should try meditating in different places :)
Fael Illyar: oh right, Pema was going to come here a bit later
    Fael Illyar: almost forgot :)
Caledonia Heron: he will come if he can, I’m sure
Adams Rubble: Is one if us keeping the log?
Caledonia Heron: yes, it is my turn
    Adams Rubble: Great!
Caledonia Heron: I know I mentioned it before and…I really like this pavillion
Caledonia Heron: the other room felt very closed in to me
Fael Illyar: Pretty much everyone seems to like it :)
    Caledonia Heron: no doubt
Fael Illyar: easier to find a good camera position :)
    Caledonia Heron: lol, sure
Faenik is a hairy black ball with eyes and ears.

    Of ancient temples:

Caledonia Heron: I have been hanging out in Mayan temples - an interesting culture
Fael Illyar: ah, new stream here :)
Caledonia Heron: there were several remnants near the house I was living in this week
Caledonia Heron: and some we traveled to
    Adams Rubble: Which ones, Cal?
    Faenik: why not?
Caledonia Heron: Tulum by the sea was very beautiful

    Ahh, the logo:

Caledonia Heron: I see the logo has been adopted?
Adams Rubble: It is the first I’ve seen it in the pavilion
    Fael Illyar: Me too

    Back to MesoAmerica:

Adams Rubble: I have a bit of trouble looking at Mesoamerican art for too long
    Caledonia Heron: how so?
    Fael Illyar: trouble?
Adams Rubble: I start to empathize with the people whose fingernails are being pulled out and whose hearts are being ripped from their chests
Caledonia Heron: yeah, there are brutal depictions
Caledonia Heron: I was thinking about that looking at a most beautiful processional painting then realizing,…hey, where are they taking that person….???
    Adams Rubble: Yes exactly
Adams Rubble: Some of the workmanship is superb
    Caledonia Heron: yes
Caledonia Heron: and I was really struck by the simplicity of lifestyle
    Fael Illyar: sounds conflicting :)
Caledonia Heron: and how convoluted western living can be made
Caledonia Heron: we really can do with much less
Caledonia Heron: and I didn’t turn to dust not being on my computer
Adams Rubble: Of course, the culture created its own environmental problems it appears
    Fael Illyar: Mayan?
    Faenik: ah :)
Adams Rubble: It is a culture in mesoamerca which roughly translates to
Adams Rubble: Mexico and a bit north and south
    Adams Rubble: including Guatemala
Adams Rubble: There are a few similar cultures before and after
Adams Rubble: including Olmec and Toltec before
    Adams Rubble: and Aztec after
Caledonia Heron: ah, the Toltecs…..metallurgy :)
Adams Rubble: They are often grouped in popular culture as just Mayan
    Adams Rubble: just
Caledonia Heron: yes, agreed but distinct areas, cultures, contributions

    And cultures in cultures:

    Adams Rubble: yes
Adams Rubble: much like Finland is different from Sweden
Fael Illyar: it’s hard to separate them when you’ve never heard most of the other names :)
    Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: and they are in the past too
    Faenik: ah :)
Caledonia Heron: the inhabitants can distinguish themselves from one another and… outsiders tend to lump those groups together….I once received a lesson about the differences between Asian characteristics and cultures that is similar to this discussion
Adams Rubble: Yes, China alone is complex
Fael Illyar: sort of like people like to lump computer problems under the label “it doesn’t work” :P
    Adams Rubble: haha
    Caledonia Heron: lol

    Back in MesoAmerica:

Adams Rubble: Geting back to mesoamaerica…
Caledonia Heron: BRS - try the Big Red Switch :)
Adams Rubble: The political culture was mixed with the religious
Adams Rubble: and the gods demanded a certain amount of blood sacrifice to keep things even-keeled
Adams Rubble: the rulers themselves gave their own blood
Adams Rubble: but blood of their enemies also was needed
Adams Rubble: I don’t know if anyone knows how much….
Adams Rubble: it is not an everyday occurance I don’t think
Adams Rubble: or it wouldn’t have needed to have been so vividly portrayed
Caledonia Heron: some were tied to the seasons, food cycles, fertility, things like that
    Adams Rubble: yes
Fael Illyar: blood of enemies required … ok, that’s one culture that’d never achieve world peace :)
Caledonia Heron: I was reminded of other regions that mix religion and politics, like the middle east
Adams Rubble: until they run out of enemies
Adams Rubble: Cal mentioned the seasons…
Adams Rubble: and of course that made them good astonomers and good at math
Fael Illyar: you didn’t get my point, I was referring to that as long as you want enemies, you’ll not run out of them.
Caledonia Heron: yes, the Maya used the concept zero
Caledonia Heron: ah, for sure Fael
Adams Rubble: No I was aware, Fael :)
Adams Rubble: They can always make more, yes
Adams Rubble: then they run out of people
Fael Illyar: not necessarily. They just need to make sure they don’t kill too many.
Adams Rubble: I probably don;t have this quite right but…
Adams Rubble: they cleared all the jungle
Adams Rubble: and as I understand it, it changed the climate
Adams Rubble: and they started to run out of food
Fael Illyar: Ah, they self destructed?
Caledonia Heron: I think imported disease played a part also
Adams Rubble: at the very end at least
    Faenik: なるほど^^
Caledonia Heron: I became interested in the iconography/ writing codecs which I think I will read more about
Adams Rubble: Those surviving are amazing
Caledonia Heron: yes, beautiful and complex
    Adams Rubble: yes
    Adams Rubble: wow fael!
    Faenik: why not?
Caledonia Heron: I used to keep bees and I saw an apiary of native Mayan bees, very small with no stingers, kept in sections of logs, fascinating

    We began turning into butterflies:

Caledonia Heron: lovely wings Fael :) and Adams :)
Fael Illyar: Adams, wouldn’t the pink version suit your outfit better?
    Adams Rubble: hehe
Adams Rubble: All of us now, very nice Cal :)
Caledonia Heron: we are a group of winged super heroes:) bringing peace through contemplation :)
Fael Illyar: Yes, quite small but the look nice too :)
Caledonia Heron: small, and flappy :)
Adams Rubble feels like she may fall over backwards

Bees, oceans and how to remember:

Adams Rubble: Sorry, we distracted you from the bees, Cal
Caledonia Heron: I spent a lot of 9 seconds breathing with the ocean :)
Adams Rubble likes the way Cal’s wings move
Adams Rubble: I will have to try the breathing with ocean the next time I am there
Caledonia Heron: yes, I like that the wings are flappy :) they have their own rhythm
Caledonia Heron: have you guys been continuing the 9 sec practice?
Fael Illyar: Yes, whenever I’m at home … although, I was looking at how to make my cell phone do it instead.
    Faenik: なるほど^^
Caledonia Heron: your cell phone? I don’t understand, like a reminder system?
Fael Illyar: well, I’ve got alarms :)
Adams Rubble: We are having a Lepidoptera session
Caledonia Heron: lol, or it does 9 sec practice for you?
    Caledonia Heron: LOL, yes Adams
Fael Illyar: my computer goes goooooooooooooong every 15 minutes :)
Adams Rubble: It helps a lot except I don’t always remember to turn it on
Caledonia Heron: oh, I get it
Fael Illyar: I’ve got the alarm set so that as long as the computer is turned on, it makes sounds
Caledonia Heron: :) a chron job for meditation
    Adams Rubble: :)
Fael Illyar: It happens that my monitor has speakers that I don’t use for anything else
Fael Illyar: no, it’s cron :)
Caledonia Heron: sure, chron, cron, as long as it’s on schedule :)
Fael Illyar: but yes, you could say it’s a “cron job for meditation” :P
Fael Illyar: it is a cron job afterall :P
    Adams Rubble: :)
Fael Illyar: I couldn’t use the mindfulness clock so I had to make a small script and cron job :)
Caledonia Heron: I wonder how long I will carry the ocean so close in my mind….to be in the sway …..until the 0’s and 1’s take over again :)
Adams Rubble: Ah…I haven’t quite figured out the mindfulness clock myself. It seems to go off more than every 15 seconds
    Adams Rubble: minutes
Fael Illyar: well, until you let it go :)
    Adams Rubble: yes :)
Caledonia Heron: it’s always in the stack, I want it to stay at the top :)
Adams Rubble: It’s sad when it fades
    Faenik: why not?
    Caledonia Heron: yes

    Faenik our mascot:

Adams Rubble thinks Faenik likes sad
Caledonia Heron: cheer up Faenik! :)
    Adams Rubble: :)
    Faenik does?
Caledonia Heron: has Faenik always been black?
    Fael Illyar: Yes :)
Caledonia Heron: maybe it would like to change it’s fur, like we change our avs :)
Adams Rubble: You could buy Faenik some outfits :)
Fael Illyar: hmmh… the texture is black, tinting won’t do much.
Caledonia Heron: maybe some wings like ours :)
Caledonia Heron: they would tickle your ears
    Adams Rubble: haha
Adams Rubble thought that Faenik’s got wider
    Adams Rubble: eyes
Fael Illyar: no he hasn’t :P
Caledonia Heron: Faenik is getting wider? he will have to exercise
Adams Rubble doesn’t remember all the words in a sentence sometimes
Caledonia Heron: ah, wider eyse, he hears us talking
    Caledonia Heron: *eyes
Adams Rubble: eyes are tough to type
Caledonia Heron: lol, expecially for a goober like me :)
    Caledonia Heron: *especially
    Adams Rubble: ad me :)
    Caledonia Heron: ack
    Adams Rubble: and me :)
Caledonia Heron: it never fails - when I try to improve a typo, I make another….a silly joke my fingers play on me
    Adams Rubble blames her keyboard
    Caledonia Heron: bad keyboard
    Faenik: indeed?
Faenik is a hairy black ball with eyes and ears.

Butterflies with big heads and small hair:

Fael Illyar: about time to switch my outfit :) been using the same one for a few days already :)
Caledonia Heron: you both look lovely - I took your photo :)
Adams Rubble: I’m having a bad hair day
    Caledonia Heron: lol - impossible!
Adams Rubble: some of it seems to have disappeared
Fael Illyar: you just need to resize it a bit bigger so it covers your head :)
    Adams Rubble: ah
Caledonia Heron: could be it will self-fix when you relog
Adams Rubble: maybe my head is too swollen
Fael Illyar: well, you can also make your head smaller, whichever way you prefer :)
Caledonia Heron: or, like Fael says - bigger hair or smaller head :)
Fael Illyar: it’s a simple modification in either case :)
    Adams Rubble: haha
    Adams Rubble: in SL!
Adams Rubble: Well, it’s time for me to go
Fael Illyar: Ok, see you later Adams :)
Adams Rubble: bye Fael and Cal
Caledonia Heron: me too - you are both delightful, a nice way to return to SL :)
Adams Rubble: see you all soon :)
    Faenik: why not?
Caledonia Heron: bye, be well :)
    Fael Illyar: Bye Cal :)
    Caledonia Heron: bye Fael :)
