gina Broono: the way we see has to do with your point of view too and the physiology of the eyes
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, and recently I have been using my computers camera and screen as a mirror of sorts in my back yard while I do my Tai Chi

stevenaia Michinaga: to practice my form
gina Broono: that is wonderful Steven
stevenaia Michinaga: and while doing that I began to think about the image on the screes being me, but not me, but the screen, I am the movie

gina Broono: and you are reversed too
stevenaia Michinaga: my mac's correct that

stevenaia Michinaga: otherwise I would go crazy practicing, it's like a mirror
stevenaia Michinaga: so it was like the Patty Duke Show, for those is us who remember the twins doing the refection of each other in RL

stevenaia Michinaga: yes, in class we have a mirrored wall, this works great outside
stevenaia Michinaga: when alone
stevenaia Michinaga: so seeing the screen as different layers, in addition to the even stranger point that I ma broadcasting my exercise to someone else sometimes makes it a multi layered event

stevenaia Michinaga: brings the movie screen on degree closer when you are the movie, the screen, the "actor" the entertainment, the audience,
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, and how the person on the other end, which is me and someone in another location, sees things in the same ways or differently

Pema Pera: do you feel oscillating sometimes between different identities, in that case, Steve, or are you aware of them simultaneously?

stevenaia Michinaga: for now it's more like a fan deck of successive impressions of each viewpoint

stevenaia Michinaga: yes, in a linear way, one perception leads to another
stevenaia Michinaga: but yes, as a kaleidoscopic, each is compose of the parts of the same thing
stevenaia Michinaga: just viewed differently
stevenaia Michinaga: and the screen is just electronics and light
stevenaia Michinaga: even if it is also me
stevenaia Michinaga: or the image of me
Pema Pera: I wasn't sure, from your description above, whether you mirror reversed the picture on your Mac screen, or whether you left it in the normal way -- if you left it, was it not confusing to deal with a non-mirror-reversed image, which must be very different from practicing with a mirror during class?
stevenaia Michinaga: no the preview image is a mirror image
stevenaia Michinaga: so it appears as a reflection, the viewer that I send the image to sees it as a corrected image (my right is my right to them)
Pema Pera: ah, that makes sense!
stevenaia Michinaga: each concept eventually needs to individually "seated" within the person
Pema Pera: yes
stevenaia Michinaga: this one was something I felt earlier from your words, eventually my mind made this of it, which brought it a bit closer to me
stevenaia Michinaga: and makes it applicable in a broader sense now
Pema Pera: yes, I'm glad you mentioned this, it's a much better analogy than just a passive movie!
stevenaia Michinaga: not "applicable", but conceptually applicable
