The Guardian for this meeting was Eliza Madrigal. The comments are by Eliza Madrigal.
Today I signed on to ask some SL photography questions, but went with the wave that arose. It was really nice in particular, to get to know more about Gaya, and to picture the childhood environment she was raised in.
We shared quite a bit in this very long session. Toward the end, there is some discussion of death, and Mick learns about the Play as Being Chronicles.
We begin with two bunnies...

--BELL--
Eliza Madrigal: Bunny Chat :)
sophia Placebo: hello eliza !
Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Eliza :)
sophia Placebo: you should join the club oneday
Gaya Ethaniel: Isn't sophia just so sweet looking today?
Eliza Madrigal: Yes I should! A bunny would be fun :)
Eliza Madrigal: Do either of you know how to move pictuers from SL to the hard drive?
Eliza Madrigal: Is it possible?
sophia Placebo: gaya you are a top bunny model !
Eliza Madrigal: hehe
Eliza Madrigal zooms in on Sophia's new look
Gaya Ethaniel: Snaps already taken?
Eliza Madrigal: So sweet
Eliza Madrigal: And yes Gaya. I took them this morning, but accidentally saved to SL
Eliza Madrigal: I'd intended to add them to the log.
sophia Placebo: i dont know a way to do that
Gaya Ethaniel: :) no I think sophia is a definitely superior cutie here.
Eliza Madrigal: There may not be a way... only visa versa. Sigh :)
Gaya Ethaniel: Probably worth having a look at SL wiki - http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Main_Page
Eliza Madrigal: Don't let me sidetrack you from your talk though. Hm, No guardian yet?
Gaya Ethaniel: I'm not sure.
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, wait. It is Storm today. He's in life transition. Ill grab it.
Gaya Ethaniel: Here you go - Open the Texture in world then go to: File, then to: Save Texture As
Solobill arrives and we begin to talk about spiritual practice and routines.
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Bill!!
Eliza Madrigal rubs eyes
Solobill Laville: :)
sophia Placebo: well someone wanted to get a sl texture to his harddrive , some adivcd him to snapshot the texture !
Eliza Madrigal: Oh excellent Gaya! Thank You!
Gaya Ethaniel: np :)
Solobill Laville: Hi, Eliza, Gaya, Spohia :)
sophia Placebo: hi solobill
Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Solo :) Long time!
Solobill Laville: Yes, too long Gaya :)
Gaya Ethaniel nods nods.
Gaya Ethaniel: But RL does that sometimes :)
Solobill Laville: indeed
Eliza Madrigal: yes, always interfering with our SL time
sophia Placebo: thats very helpfull gaya ty
Eliza Madrigal: One moment, brb
Gaya Ethaniel: ok :)
Gaya Ethaniel: yw :)
Gaya Ethaniel: How are things and your practice Solo?
Solobill Laville: Good :) about an hour a day, prostrations, chanting, sitting
Solobill Laville: Oops
Eliza Madrigal: Yikes
Solobill Laville: I do believe that Gaya has *poofed* :)
Eliza Madrigal: Does the routine come naturally to you Solo?
Solobill Laville: Now it does, not a first though
Solobill Laville: TIme of day has a big role...I was an evening guy
Solobill Laville: after the kids went to bed
Solobill Laville: but now I am a morning guy...much better I think :)
Eliza Madrigal: WB Gaya :)
sophia Placebo: i gotta run
sophia Placebo: bye all
Solobill Laville: wb gaya
Gaya Ethaniel: ty :) SL is very unstable today for me.
Solobill Laville: Bye, Sophia
Eliza Madrigal: Bye Sophia
Eliza Madrigal: I like the 'idea' of a set routine, and sometimes I fall into a pattern, but mostly I change day to day, week to week
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Gaya Ethaniel: Bye sophia :)
Solobill Laville: Right, I think that is good too, go with what your schedule and mind/body dictate
Eliza Madrigal: So far it works.
Solobill Laville: :) Good!
--BELL--
Gaya Ethaniel: Hello arabella :)
arabella Ella whispers ... hiya!
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Ara :)
Solobill Laville: hehe, Hi Ara
Gaya Ethaniel: [apologies for standing, still rezzing here]
Eliza Madrigal: No worries Gaya :) Just glad that you're here
arabella Ella: cant yet see Gaya the cuddly bunny yet ...just a cloud
Gaya Ethaniel: :(
arabella Ella: but can hear you loud and clear :)
Solobill Laville: SO, how is it good, Eliza?
Gaya Ethaniel: ^__^
Eliza Madrigal: I'm back to finding time, I think, which is actually when I look at it, turning out to be 'more' than when I try to impose a strict schedule
Eliza Madrigal: This is a going in spurts thing though, so I still think 'routine' is preferable :)
Solobill Laville: Sounds balanced
Yes, balanced in its way
arabella Ella: can you share your secret as to how to find time Eliza ... or is it just summer schedules?
Eliza Madrigal: It just isn't something I find I do well :)
Eliza Madrigal: In its way! :))
Eliza Madrigal: The secret is life upheaval :)
arabella Ella: oh
arabella Ella: does not sound as simple as i first thought it might :)
Eliza Madrigal: When the school year starts there will be another adjustment period, so I guess this is why 'groundlessness' is all I think about lately :)
Eliza Madrigal: hah
arabella Ella nods
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Eliza Madrigal: I dream of doing as Solo does, and others, which is get up early and get focused right away
arabella Ella: oh how i wish i could do that ... but i can only dream on ...
Solobill Laville: ...the legs are stiff then...
arabella Ella hates mornings
Eliza Madrigal: :) I have to admit though, I rush to sit, most days
Solobill Laville: BUt it really does frame the day nicely
Eliza Madrigal: like meeting a secret love
Eliza Madrigal grins
arabella Ella: :)
Gaya Ethaniel: I like doing yoga in the morning if I get around to it, pumping blood around, waking body up.
Eliza Madrigal: yes!!
Solobill Laville: yes, that is very much what prostrations are about
A very cute typo from Arabella
arabella Ella: say more Solo if could could please ... about procrastination
Gaya Ethaniel: ah ...
Eliza Madrigal: You've been really focused about that since you started bill. It has been a few months?
Solobill Laville is smiling
Solobill Laville: Ara, it is "prostrations" as opposed to "procrastination"
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
arabella Ella: oh
Eliza Madrigal: haha...reads back
arabella Ella: misunderstanding
arabella Ella: apologies :)
Solobill Laville: They are a formal kind of bowing practice
arabella Ella: oh
arabella Ella: intruiging
Solobill Laville: :) No worries, just an amusing mixup
arabella Ella: :)
Eliza Madrigal: Kind of cute. We were talking about not doing mornings well Ara :)
We learn a bit about Gaya's childhood environment
Gaya Ethaniel: Actually ... my grandma used to do that each morning now that I think about it ... though rather too energetically for us children watching.
arabella Ella: bowing?
Gaya Ethaniel: She had this beautiful painting of a bodhisattva in her room on the wall.
arabella Ella: lovely
Solobill Laville: :) Kwanseom Bosal?
Eliza Madrigal: Wow Gaya, how wonderful
I give Bill a prostration animation made by Vajra.
Eliza Madrigal: Bill, that is from Vajra Radikal :)
Solobill Laville: (this is a great anim)
Solobill Laville: tanks
Solobill Laville: *thanks
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Solobill Laville: Did you see that Ara?
arabella Ella: no i missed it
arabella Ella: once again pls
arabella Ella: cool
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: Gaya, you grew up in a buddhist family environment?
Gaya Ethaniel: yeah very much so :)
Solobill Laville: Funny, and I'm in Michigan practicing Korean Buddhism! :)
Eliza Madrigal smiles, thinking of the imagery one grows up around
Gaya Ethaniel: The style varies between countries but it's similar to what many Buddhist pilgrims do .. hands in the front bow then kneel down etc.
Gaya Ethaniel: :) yeah it did sound a bit Korean in terms you mentioned.
Gaya Ethaniel: btw I am missing quite a bit of chat lines so apologies in advance if I 'ignored' anything.
Solobill Laville: Kwan Seam Bosal is Kwanzeon in Japanese, Avalokitesvara in Sanscrit
Solobill Laville: *Seom--BELL--
Gaya Ethaniel: I liked my grandfather's funeral in a temple. And there are many fond memories :) Like friendly local monks etc.
Solobill Laville: One of the biggie Bodhisattvas
Gaya Ethaniel: re-logging brb ...
arabella Ella: hey Gaya the cuddley bunny is back :)
arabella Ella: wb
Solobill Laville: wb Gaya
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Eliza Madrigal: :)Hi Gaya
Eliza Madrigal: yes, in all her glory
Gaya Ethaniel: Now you all are clouds :)
arabella Ella: oh nooooo
Gaya Ethaniel: ty :) sorry I keep making interruptions.
arabella Ella: so Gaya excuse my ignorance ... what sort of Buddhism were you brought up in?
Gaya Ethaniel: ah Eliza you don't mind posting it? Is this your slot btw? Thought it was Storm's.
Gaya Ethaniel: uh ... to be honest, I didn't know what sort at the time. I think it's Pure Land largely and with Seon thrown in here and there.
arabella Ella: ah
Gaya Ethaniel: Rather than a category, I can just describe as regular attending at temples ... lots of prostrations, sutra reading/chanting ... and so on.
arabella Ella: hiya Mick
Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Mick :)
Eliza Madrigal does not mind... same thing happened this morning. haha
Solobill Laville: Hi Mick
Mickorod Renard: Hiya
Mickorod Renard: no Stim tonite?
Gaya Ethaniel: Going to see famous monks and visiting sacred sites (a sculpture on very high mountains etc.) were regarded highly and many of my family members did that.
Eliza Madrigal: Still on break, Mick
Mickorod Renard: wow
Mickorod Renard: nice for Stim, sad for us
Eliza Madrigal: Gaya, I think that is beautiful. We don't consider, when we are children, the environment too much...
Gaya Ethaniel: Like doing 10,000 prostrations things like that ... I thought it was a bit too extreme at the time but then I was very small heheheh
Eliza Madrigal: what an impact it has
Eliza Madrigal: Later we remember vividly :)
Gaya Ethaniel: Indeed :)
Adams arrives!
Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Adams :)
Mickorod Renard: Hi Adams
Adams Rubble: Hello everyone :)
Solobill Laville: Hi, Adams :)
Eliza Madrigal: The prostrations I'm not there with yet, but I have high regard for the practice :)
arabella Ella: sounds really interesting Gaya would be lovely if you could share more
arabella Ella: Hiya Adams
Gaya Ethaniel: But Father became an evangelical Christian later in his life [he was somewhat agnostic before] so I guess it wasn't strictly Buddhist upbringing.
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Adams :)
Eliza Madrigal nods
Gaya Ethaniel: mm ... like experiences?
arabella Ella: makes it wound even more fascinating Gaya
arabella Ella: anything you think you would like to share that comes to mind
Adams Rubble: :) funny typo
Gaya Ethaniel: mm ... I liked free food heheheh [vegetarian and plain - nothing pungent ie garlic] whenever I visited the temple. Buddhists are not required to be vegetarian traditionally.
Gaya Ethaniel: Even now you can stay at temples for free I think.
Mickorod Renard: lovely
Gaya Ethaniel: A lot of university students do that for PhD etc. They offered lodgings during the World Cup for any foreigners too.
Solobill Laville: Friends, I have my marching orders to pick up 2 pizzas on the way home, so I must off...I'd love to stay though :/
Solobill Laville: Be well, everyone! :)
Gaya Ethaniel: Have a great evening Solo. Nice to see you!
Adams Rubble: bye Bill
Mickorod Renard: bye Solo,,nice seeing you
Eliza Madrigal: Happy to have a Solo sighting!
Eliza Madrigal: Bye bill :))
Mickorod Renard: yea
Mickorod Renard: and an Adams sighting
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Mickorod Renard: long time no see Adams too
Eliza Madrigal: yes, at this time of day! Unusual
Gaya Ethaniel: There are many more arabella :) Guess it's much like growing up in any religious environments.
Adams Rubble: nice to see you Mick :)
Mickorod Renard: Ara seems to have crashed
Gaya Ethaniel: ah ... :(
Eliza Madrigal is stuck in a camera angle
Gaya Ethaniel: But I have to say though until recently I was somewhat against Buddhism as I knew back then, a lot to do with ignorance not knowing meanings behind the rituals.
Mickorod Renard: Ara has had a power cut,,so may be gone a while
Adams Rubble: try hitting esc three times Eliza
Gaya Ethaniel: ah ok
Eliza Madrigal: That did it Ara :)
Eliza Madrigal: Oops Adams. Hah
Adams Rubble: :)
Eliza Madrigal: reading and thinking at same time
Eliza Madrigal: hahah
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
I share an image from my childhood environment which has 9 seconds inspiration.
Eliza Madrigal: The other day during one of these sessions where everyone was talking about the pauses and implementing them being tricky...
Eliza Madrigal: I remembered a little poem my great grandmother had on the all
Eliza Madrigal: *wall
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Eliza Madrigal: It was about finding time to pray
Mickorod Renard: yes?
Eliza Madrigal: and how the person rushed around and said "No sorry, no time for prayer today"
Eliza Madrigal: until at the end they realized they didn't have time not to...
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Eliza Madrigal: that the benefit was such :)
--BELL--
Eliza Madrigal: http://www.ftmagic.com/ntp.html
Eliza Madrigal: Here it is... not sure about the site, just did a search
Mickorod Renard: thts a nice thought
Gaya Ethaniel: That's lovely Eliza, thank you :)
Eliza Madrigal: :) Funny... I lived with that most of my childhood
Eliza Madrigal: but I can't remember really reading it.
Gaya Ethaniel: Maybe that's why you're still at 'it' :)
Mickorod Renard: cool
Eliza Madrigal: Ties in to thinking about growing up with bodhisattvas pictures on the wall :)
Gaya Ethaniel: Watching some family members chanting day after day was a curious sight for me in my childhood and I'm sure those left mark like this poem on you.
Gaya Ethaniel: Yes :)
Eliza Madrigal: yes!!
Eliza Madrigal: and also into a discussion we had one day about 'sacred places' and our environments
Gaya Ethaniel: oh I missed that ... which session was it?
Eliza Madrigal: We're nurtured by these things at a level we don't realize
Gaya Ethaniel nods nods ... like 'Drink Coke' flashing during films can, though not nurturing in this case.
Eliza Madrigal: It was a little part of a discussion Adams and I had one day... am trying to remember who we arrrived at it :)
Eliza Madrigal: hahah Gaya, yes maybe
Eliza Madrigal: I've a picture of "God" on the computer. The screen says "Sacred Space"
Gaya Ethaniel: You know I see how simple things like decluttering can be 'spiritually' helpful because of this kind of realisation.
Gaya Ethaniel: That's nice Eliza :)
Eliza Madrigal: meaning, god is looking at a computer screen... didn't phrase that well
Eliza Madrigal: heh
Adams Rubble: :)
Mickorod Renard: he he
Eliza Madrigal nods... allowing space Gaya?
Gaya Ethaniel: I mean ... maybe one day things like clutters won't bother me in that level but I'm not there yet ...
Eliza Madrigal is a minimalist in a house of 'collectors"
Eliza Madrigal: hah
Decluttering, films, the News, Mick's sensitivity, Being hugged...
Gaya Ethaniel: Things just get registered in our minds sometimes subtly without us realising.
Gaya Ethaniel: I'm sure they affect how we are.
Mickorod Renard: me niether, although I recognise I need and want to de clutter
Gaya Ethaniel: How we are ... in our daily goings.
Eliza Madrigal: yes, though it is funny. I can think of times I was in very cluttered homes and felt 'hugged'
Mickorod Renard: I am almost weened off the goings
Gaya Ethaniel: Yes there are different clutters I'm sure :)
Adams Rubble: that's a good way to look at clutter...being hugged :)
Mickorod Renard: hugged sounds too nce thogh
Mickorod Renard: though
Gaya Ethaniel: For example, I'm more reluctant to watch films that are violent regardless their artistic merits these days.
Adams Rubble: appreciate the presence of clutter as the appearance of a hug from Being :)
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, that's sweet Adams :)
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Mickorod Renard: lol,,tere is that wy of looking at it I guess
Eliza Madrigal is not a fan of violent movies, but now and again one will get me on another level
Eliza Madrigal: like "Fight Club" or "Matrix"
Adams Rubble sticks to comedies ;)
Gaya Ethaniel: I guess I'm just seeing more and more reasons behind common sense and things people like my parents told me.
Eliza Madrigal nods
Mickorod Renard: is ther lots of lag tonite?
Eliza Madrigal: yes it seems to be going around Mick :)
Gaya Ethaniel: I think so Mick.
Mickorod Renard: ty
Eliza Madrigal wonders about others' favorites movies now
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Adams Rubble: YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW IN MY CASE (GIGGLES)
Eliza Madrigal: Oh wow
Adams Rubble: whoops
Eliza Madrigal: haha
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Mickorod Renard: go on tell
Eliza Madrigal smiles...guess I don't then. (yes I do)
Adams Rubble shakes her head
Adams Rubble: :)
Mickorod Renard: ahh,,,(emanuel movies)
--BELL--
Eliza Madrigal: emuanuel movies, Mick?
Eliza Madrigal: maybe getting a link?
Eliza Madrigal: What about you gaya?
Adams Rubble: p;hone
Mickorod Renard: just baiting Adam to tell
Eliza Madrigal is trying to remember the last film that took her breath away... been a while
Gaya Ethaniel: Me? There are so many ... I like Kieslowski's work, Jane Campion and some of Peter Greenaway etc etc and many Anime esp Miyazaki Hayao.
Mickorod Renard: the only film I ased somone tobuy for me was 'laurence of arabia' with peter o'toole in it
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, yes Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle... ooh love those
Gaya Ethaniel: I like the mirage scene :) It is a good film Mick.
Eliza Madrigal: Oh AND LoA is another favorite
Mickorod Renard: grin
Gaya Ethaniel: Totoro is my favourite Miyazaki :)
Eliza Madrigal: (but I fast forward parts where they are riding in the desert sometimes-ha)
Gaya Ethaniel: LoA?
Eliza Madrigal: Lawrence of Arabia
Gaya Ethaniel: ah
Eliza Madrigal: I've not seen Totoro
Eliza Madrigal: thanks for the tip!
Gaya Ethaniel: yw :)
Eliza Madrigal: My girls watch 'The Cat Returns' about once a week! hah
Mickorod Renard: I must admit,,a long time ago when I was in love and all that stuff,,I like dr zhivago
Gaya Ethaniel: No way ... :)
Eliza Madrigal smiles.. Mick the romantic :)
Gaya Ethaniel: ah :) Indeed!
Eliza Madrigal: I'm like that too, though the kids joke that someone always dies at the end of movies I like
Gaya Ethaniel guffaws.
Eliza Madrigal has a daughter reading this singing the Totoro song
Eliza Madrigal: Okay....now two daughters in unison
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Mickorod Renard: I becme so sensitive that I couldnt watch movies that involved loosing loved ones cos I would brst ino tears
Gaya Ethaniel: aaww cute :) They like Kiki too? That's another of my favourite.
Eliza Madrigal: now they are cheering
Gaya Ethaniel: Couldn't watch which one Mick?
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Eliza Madrigal: Ooh Mick
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Mickorod Renard: anything sad
Eliza Madrigal: That's kind of nice actually
Gaya Ethaniel: ah ... ok
Eliza Madrigal: sensitive
Gaya Ethaniel: Yes that's helpful I think.
Mickorod Renard: even watching the news is too much for me sometimes
Gaya Ethaniel: I used to be very much like that Mick. I don't get sucked into things too much these day which is nice :)
Mickorod Renard: yes, I have built up some resistance
Eliza Madrigal: yes the news can be difficult when one is empathetic ... but one can turn it into a prayer
Gaya Ethaniel: How do you resist it Mick? I have found watching helpful in my cases.
Adams Rubble: back (reading)
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Gaya Ethaniel: wb :)
Mickorod Renard: dont ge me wrng, I dont get depressed
Gaya Ethaniel: Sure I know what you meant. You meant being emphatic right?
Adams Rubble: WOW, YOU WROTE ALOT WHILE i WAS AWAY :)
Adams Rubble: whoops
Eliza Madrigal: YES
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Adams Rubble: Caps Lock seems to have moved
Gaya Ethaniel: Emphasising*
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Mickorod Renard: I guess so, but its just that I have moved my centre of concern from myself to that of the rest of the world
Gaya Ethaniel: That's nice :)
Eliza Madrigal smiles, nice Mick, and the phrasing too
Mickorod Renard: primarily that of other humans
Eliza Madrigal: I think that is turning it into a prayer
Eliza Madrigal: Adams poofed now
Gaya Ethaniel nods :(
Mickorod Renard: lol
Eliza Madrigal: yes strange, laggy SL day
--BELL--
Gaya Ethaniel: wb Adams :)
Mickorod Renard: I seem to have speeded up now i have closed some other windows
Eliza Madrigal: WB Adams :)
Mickorod Renard: oops
Adams Rubble: thank you. My display driver stopped working and Buyeo sim is down
Eliza Madrigal: Ah
Gaya Ethaniel: oh ok ... I will just log off here in that case.
Eliza Madrigal: yes, me too. As I did this morning actually :)
Adams Rubble: It probably will be back soon, I think just resetting it
Mickorod Renard: am I doing the usual scribe again Eliza?
Eliza Madrigal: (oh didn't realize we were in the bell)
Gaya Ethaniel: ah ok
Adams Rubble: me neither
Mickorod Renard: dont worry
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Eliza Madrigal: Yes, Mick. You've been doing the 2nd slot right?
Mickorod Renard: yes
Eliza Madrigal: yup, seems right :)
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Eliza Madrigal: My days are going on right now :)
Eliza Madrigal: Gaya, I think if I took a photo, btw, that it doesn't transfer...only texture
Mickorod Renard: lol,,I left you a large 2 hour log yesterday
Eliza Madrigal: I'll have to play around some more
Eliza Madrigal: yes you did! When I loaded a log this morning I saw that one
Adams Rubble: the etxture is the photo and can be sent to someone else
Mickorod Renard: he he
Eliza Madrigal: haevn't read it, but saw the words
Gaya Ethaniel: ah ... let me look up ...
Mickorod Renard: I cut them back a bit too
Eliza Madrigal: Adams, I wanted to put a photo in the log but I accidentally saved it to SL rather than the hard drive
Eliza Madrigal: You did Mick? hahah
Adams Rubble: ah, sorry to but in :)
Eliza Madrigal: We're in a race you and I. Some of my sessions are really long too :)
Eliza Madrigal: No, not at all Adams :)
Eliza Madrigal resisted emailing Adams about the photo earlier :)
Mickorod Renard: I struggle sometimes with phots
Gaya Ethaniel: When you save a snapshot on your computer Eliza, it is .tga.
Adams Rubble: :)
Gaya Ethaniel: Open it in graphics program like GIMP then convert it to JPEG or any other formats you prefer. That should work.
Eliza Madrigal: OOH!!!
Eliza Madrigal: It worked
Eliza Madrigal: Sheesh, easy
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Eliza Madrigal: Well I saved the file anyway... will see about converting it
Adams Rubble: you can save it as a bmp (or jpeg if you have the new version of Wondows)
Eliza Madrigal: yes I have vista
Mickorod Renard: I struggled moving it from import to amonst the log wording
Gaya Ethaniel: BMP or PNG would be better in quality though larger than JPEG.
Adams Rubble: yes can save a jpeg
Adams Rubble: jpeg is better for web pages
Eliza Madrigal: Thank you both very much. I don't see the option to save as other than the .tga
Eliza Madrigal: but I'll work with it later :)
Adams Rubble: it comes in the second wondow
Adams Rubble: (me checking)
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, okay.
Gaya Ethaniel: Yes save it as .tga and then open it in a program like GIMP or even Paint in accessories Eliza to convert to other formats.
Mickorod Renard: I use the paint option
Adams Rubble: it is in the first window; there is a format wondow
Eliza Madrigal: Two weeks until the WoK workshop begins again, or just one?
Gaya Ethaniel: It's back next week I think :)
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, great
Gaya Ethaniel: Though I hope to see Stim on next Monday too.
Mickorod Renard: yes?
Adams Rubble: this is the second time I could have gone when it was cancelled :(
Gaya Ethaniel: His PaB session I mean.
Eliza Madrigal: I have a few more weeks of being able to make sessions at this time
Eliza Madrigal: Adams :(
Eliza Madrigal: Nice having you here though
Gaya Ethaniel: :(
Adams Rubble: thanks Eliza :)
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Adams Rubble: haven't said much but listened to evry word :)
Talking about family and logistics...
Eliza Madrigal: Normally I am driving to three diff. schools until about 2SLT... rush home to get to workshops :)
Gaya Ethaniel: ah ...
Mickorod Renard: I am trying to learn to say less,,its funny, in rl I am pretty quiet
Adams Rubble: ouch
Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: me too Mick
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Mickorod Renard: what type of schools Eliza?
Eliza Madrigal is quiet in RL too
Eliza Madrigal: My kids are 3 years apart and each very different, so their schools are scattered about
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Mickorod Renard: lol,,I see
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Eliza Madrigal shakes head and thinks she's been too accomodating. haha
Mickorod Renard: I have the one,,and he will be taking himself off to college from now
Gaya Ethaniel: Time to go, nice seeing you all again :)
Adams Rubble: bye Gaya :)--BELL--
Mickorod Renard: bye gaya
Gaya Ethaniel: Good day/night!
Eliza Madrigal: Bye Gaya, good to see you
Adams Rubble: nice seeing you
Eliza Madrigal: Night :)
Making plans, or trying not to, for our children/ Ara makes it back/ What happened to the 30 hr work week?
Eliza Madrigal: Glad to hear he's college bound Mick, must feel good about that? :)
Mickorod Renard: yes,,a relief
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: My oldest is a senior this coming year... so important not to put too much pressure while at the same time being encouraging :)
Mickorod Renard: yes, I am sure I will have to try being a step back from now on,,yet still give him encouragenment
Mickorod Renard: its tricky
Eliza Madrigal nods. We have to edit ourselves and have faith :)
Mickorod Renard: also I see that he must think its all his idea too
Eliza Madrigal: yes, it must be his
Eliza Madrigal: I tell them that I will be happy whatever they choose as long as they put their hearts into it, etc. The backdrop is me reminding myeslf of that over and over ;-D
Mickorod Renard: well, I wasnt a very good student,,well not until I was older
Adams Rubble: Some of us take time to find ourself :)
Mickorod Renard: so its a bit strange me harping on at him
Eliza Madrigal: Surely, to both
Adams Rubble: but they find their own path that is slightly different than ours so it is theurs
Adams Rubble: theirs
Adams Rubble: and look at us at backward on that point :)
Eliza Madrigal nods, and nice if they allow us to walk with them sometimes
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Adams Rubble: as backward
Eliza Madrigal: haha
Mickorod Renard: yes, and I am to some extent happy that there is a work shortage here at the moment,,therefore he realises that his best route now is to carry on in education
Adams Rubble: yes, they come back and deal with us as adults and it is fun to talk to them then
Adams Rubble: yes, school is the best place to be now
Eliza Madrigal: Mick, very true. I do think those graduating now have a sense of necessity
Eliza Madrigal: WB Ara
Mickorod Renard: hiya ara
Adams Rubble: Hello Arabella. I took your place
Eliza Madrigal: :) Surprised to see us still here?
arabella Ella: hiya
arabella Ella: had a power cut apologies
Eliza Madrigal: levitating Adams :)
Adams Rubble: no apologies needed...sorry for the inconvenience
Mickorod Renard: do you have lots of candles?
arabella Ella: feels just like going back to the middle ages
arabella Ella: second power cut this week
arabella Ella: always have a good stock of candles
Mickorod Renard: great
arabella Ella: but with the heat here and no poss use of fans it is terrible
Mickorod Renard: I had lots in france
arabella Ella: and you really cant do anything
Mickorod Renard: yea
Eliza Madrigal: a real nuisance
Adams Rubble nods
arabella Ella: at least it did not last long
Eliza Madrigal: :)
arabella Ella: it probably happens due to too many people overloading the system with ACs
Mickorod Renard: worst thing in France was that they would often trip the fuse box too
arabella Ella: yes happens to me too here
Mickorod Renard: and that meant a huge tretcherous trek to the other side of the house
arabella Ella: oh noooo
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Mickorod Renard: with lots of obstackles
Adams Rubble: not a good time for clutrter
Eliza Madrigal: When I was a child I remember we had a fuse box... always looked terrifying to me to change the plugs :)
Adams Rubble: clutter
arabella Ella: oh i must switch my fan on again :)
Adams Rubble: good thing for a child to think :)
Mickorod Renard: nice spelling,,like glasses for octopus
Adams Rubble: :)
arabella Ella: that feels better
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Adams Rubble: :)
arabella Ella: it is so hot here that even just sitting and doing nothing ... too too hot with no fan
Mickorod Renard: fortunately the new fuse boxes have simple trip switches
Eliza Madrigal: yes, everything simpler now and also more complicated :)
arabella Ella: well life for one thing is much more complicated nowadays
arabella Ella: do any of you remember the days when we were promised more leisure time?
arabella Ella: like a 30 hour week?
arabella Ella: and that would generate the leisure economy
Eliza Madrigal: yes! We've been waiting for that 4 day workweek for a while now
Eliza Madrigal: yes
Adams Rubble: We weren;t promised that :)
arabella Ella: whatever happened to that?
Mickorod Renard: yes,,it was about 40 years ago
Eliza Madrigal: we filled up the space
arabella Ella: Mick ... you make me sound ancient :)
Eliza Madrigal: cluttered it
Adams Rubble: I wasn;t promised that :)
Mickorod Renard: he he
--BELL--
Adams Rubble: never thought I would be working 90 hour weeks though
arabella Ella nods
Mickorod Renard: I was promised it,,computers and robots would do the work and we would play sport instead of working
Eliza Madrigal: yes, long week Adams
Eliza Madrigal: The thing is, now we have phones we can be reached at any time with, etc
Adams Rubble: hehe M ick
Adams Rubble: not me with hone (hehe)
Adams Rubble: phone
arabella Ella: Adams sounds like you must be the youngest person here now :)
Eliza Madrigal: Even when not at work, we're often working... and maybe some are at work playing a little? :))
Adams Rubble: haha
Adams Rubble: no Arabella, not so
Mickorod Renard: work for me is an escape and a relief
Adams Rubble: I do things my own way though Ara
Arabella experienced losses this week, which brings us into sobering territory...
arabella Ella: well work is important but two dear friends passed away this week both younger than me
arabella Ella: and it is such a shock
Eliza Madrigal: Oh :(
arabella Ella: and it brings to mind the fragility of life
Eliza Madrigal: Sorry to hear that Ara
arabella Ella: and how precious it is
Adams Rubble: yes, very sad
Eliza Madrigal: yes, we're not guaranteed one moment to the next
arabella Ella: yes especially one of them who left four very young kids
arabella Ella: the other was single
Eliza Madrigal: So hard
arabella Ella: but the one with four kids left suddenly ... massive heart attack, no warning
arabella Ella: and he had just been planning to cut down on his work
Mickorod Renard: when i was younger i lost many of my friends,,and although sad it was easily accepted,,as part of being dangerous..now I am older it does seem so diferent
Eliza Madrigal: It does make one pause, and ask themselves questions
Adams Rubble: we need to live every day
arabella Ella: yes it is always a jolt which instigates reflection
Adams Rubble: one at a time
Mickorod Renard: its that creeping up on us with the inevitable that is worst
Eliza Madrigal: There are ways in which thinking about these things actually gives one a great deal of energy and focus. None of us will get out of here 'alive' :)
Adams Rubble: nope
Mickorod Renard: he he he
arabella Ella: yes i think there is a philosopher who says ... death is the only certainty
arabella Ella: and on the other hand i have heard medical philosophers saying death is not an inevitbility
Eliza Madrigal: yes, and oddly, being aware of death can cause us to show love more freely
arabella Ella nods
Mickorod Renard: everyone thinks I am macarbre when i say that i see death as a big adventure
Adams Rubble: we worry about death when we live in the future
arabella Ella: mick?
Eliza Madrigal does not think that Mick :)
Mickorod Renard: great
Eliza Madrigal nods to Adams
Mickorod Renard: yes,,the worry about death is part of that going thing
Eliza Madrigal: Once, a older family member I didn't know very well walked up to me and asked me questions about death, out of nowhere. She said her husband was worrying about it.
arabella Ella: my worry is that on occasions such as the present i get this jolt and take life to be very precious but unfortunately we soon get sucked back into the humdrum routine
Eliza Madrigal: We talked about transitions
Eliza Madrigal: And two weeks later she died.
arabella Ella: oh how sad
arabella Ella: like a premonition?
Mickorod Renard: wow
Eliza Madrigal: No, I can still see her grin
Adams Rubble: It is amazing how often we here things like that, like we have an inkling
Eliza Madrigal: She pretended she was asking for her husband
Eliza Madrigal: She just knew for whatever reason that I'd talk about it
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Adams Rubble nods
Eliza Madrigal: Yes Adams!
Eliza Madrigal: When you write also, you notice more
Mickorod Renard: yes
Eliza Madrigal: Many people talk about enlightenment in terms of death
arabella Ella: we are so fragile as human beings and somehow death seems to be similar to russian roulette
Mickorod Renard: I knew the night my old dog died and the night my mum died,,instinctively
Mickorod Renard: both looked well beforehand
arabella Ella: but Mick i know you have the gift of sixth sense :)
Eliza Madrigal: wow Mick. Doesn't that affect the way you see all of life?
Mickorod Renard: well,,i am not so sure what that is,,but it was wierd
Eliza Madrigal grins at "We are more than we think we are"
Eliza Madrigal: I knew when my great grandfather died. The phone rang and I knew
Mickorod Renard: lol

Mickorod Renard: who writes here then?
Mickorod Renard: I know ara is
arabella Ella: me?

arabella Ella: resulting in dust everywhere
Adams Rubble: I also have a blog http://rubblebornthoughts.wordpress.com
Mickorod Renard: i may risk that one
Adams Rubble: I started on the 3rd day of PaB and haven't stopped yet
Adams Rubble: it is a mystery
Eliza Madrigal: It seems a natural outflow... so often we come here and the topics discussed are sparks
Adams Rubble: 3rd day of my time in PaB that is
Adams Rubble: started June 12, 2008
Mickorod Renard: thats so amazing Adams
Adams Rubble: It is a bit like reading the telephone book (giggles)
arabella Ella: i always wanted to start writing a blog
arabella Ella: but have not yet managed to get down to doing it
arabella Ella: time ... time .... time
Adams Rubble nods
Mickorod Renard: wow,,I think I know what I will be reading soon
arabella Ella wishes there were 48 hours in a day
Eliza Madrigal smiles
Eliza Madrigal: yes there are seasons
Eliza Madrigal: openings
Mickorod Renard: and Eliza,,have you got to publish yet?
Eliza Madrigal: You're about interesting things I'd like to be doing Ara, like travelling :)
Eliza Madrigal: I've published only one article in my life offline, and have submitted only one too :)
Eliza Madrigal: I used to write for alternative education sites years ago though
Mickorod Renard: nice
Eliza Madrigal: another well paying love affair
Eliza Madrigal: hahahha
Mickorod Renard: grin
Adams Rubble: :)
Eliza Madrigal: Now, I can hardly spell!
Eliza Madrigal: I talk and write in odd codes!
arabella Ella: :)

Adams Rubble: Eliza
Mickorod Renard: phone texting is good for that
Eliza Madrigal: APAPB, PAB, SL...hehe
Eliza Madrigal: Oh that it were true Adams :)
Adams Rubble: well now we have auto-spelling :)
Eliza Madrigal nods.
Eliza Madrigal: One of my daughters might be going to a paperless school next year. The principle went to Japan to observe and learn and is coming back to run a new 'green' school
Adams Rubble: :)
arabella Ella: cool
Mickorod Renard: well,,i think I must move on,,got some gardening to do and some sl animals to feed
I missed Mick's reference to feeing SL animals...hahh
Eliza Madrigal: yes so maybe no spelling bees, which is a little of a shame
