Scathach Rhiadra: how are you today?
doug Sosa: its bee a day that lloks like spagetti
    Scathach Rhiadra: :)
    doug Sosa: been=
    --BELL--
    doug Sosa: yourself?
    Scathach Rhiadra: ah fine ty!
doug Sosa: good. I try to maintain a kind of 9 sec attitude towards spagetti but sometimes it eludes me!
    Scathach Rhiadra: :)
doug Sosa: i had the day lined up like a iapno sonata but then the pedal broke (computer crash).
    doug Sosa: =piano
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey everyone
    Scathach Rhiadra nods
    Scathach Rhiadra: Hello Yakuzza
    doug Sosa: hi)
    Bleu Oleander: hi all
    Scathach Rhiadra: Hello Bleu, Stim:)
Stim Morane: Hi Scachach, Doug, Bleu, Yakuzza
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey qt
    Qt Core: hi all
    Scathach Rhiadra: Hello Qt
    doug Sosa: :)
doug Sosa: time is running out, which is ok if you are enlightened, but for me better to use the time to make a foolish mistake :)
Stim Morane: what was that in reference to, Doug? I missed something ..
doug Sosa: only that we were sitting...:)
    Stim Morane: Ho
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hello paul
    doug Sosa: :)
    Stim Morane: Hi Paul
    Scathach Rhiadra: Hello Paul
    Qt Core: Hi Paul
Paul Namiboo: Hi -- just dropped by to say hello!
doug Sosa: This is a very enlightened group. hence bery quiet today :)
doug Sosa: No need to make foolish mistakes.
Qt Core: too much enlightment in the we, maybe ;-)
    Stim Morane: :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: you still have your wine paul :)
Paul Namiboo: That's the great thing about virtual wine -- never empties, no hangovers!
Yakuzza Lethecus: paul: so ur back from europe ?
Paul Namiboo: I was just rying to get a colleague up on SL and the browser doesn't want to cooperate
Yakuzza Lethecus: how was it ?
Paul Namiboo: Europe was wonderful but very tiring -- time shift
Paul Namiboo: plus huge response to a project Doug and i are working on
    --BELL--
Bleu Oleander: Sorry RL calls, excuse me please .....
    Yakuzza Lethecus: bye blue
doug Sosa: so i went to sleep.
Yakuzza Lethecus: how do you guys want to enforce the sustainability project further ?
doug Sosa: enforce? hmm. now here is an idea.
Paul Namiboo: We're trying to get people to discuss the issues on SL
doug Sosa: Its like the old campaign: each one teach one.. (two is better).
    Stim Morane: hi Mick
    Mickorod Renard: Hi Stim
    Scathach Rhiadra: Hello Mick
    Qt Core: hi Mick
Yakuzza Lethecus: but what is the purpose on bringing people to talk more about sustainibility? how do you think that people are forgetting about concrete problems and are going to act with more environmental carefulness ?
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey mick
    Paul Namiboo: Hi Mick
Mickorod Renard: Hi Yaku, Qt Scath, Doug,Paul
Paul Namiboo: The whole idea is to talk about how human behavior can be changed -- something often discussed in PaB
Yakuzza Lethecus: right, so it´s about education
Mickorod Renard: I get the feeling that until the population as a whole see that the richer people give up some of thier extravagances they may get the idea that they are again taking the hit
Mickorod Renard: I already cut back on using up resources because I cant afford them
Paul Namiboo: couldn't agree more Mick
Paul Namiboo: at least I can afford Pila's 45 Mounton!
Mickorod Renard: I see charges going up all the time in the name of environmental reasons,,yet the only people they hit are those who cannot afford it anyway
    Yakuzza Lethecus: good evening ara
    Mickorod Renard: Hiya Ara
doug Sosa: How things happen.. getting to sustainability. one way or the other..
    doug Sosa: old chinese saying..
    Stim Morane: hi arabella
doug Sosa: everything has two handles...
    Qt Core: hi ara
    Scathach Rhiadra: Hello Ara
doug Sosa: beware of the wrong one!
    Paul Namiboo: Hi Ara
    doug Sosa: :)
Mickorod Renard: she is having crash problems
doug Sosa: The way we say hi to a newcomer is actually quite funny, like the chorus of a poem.
Mickorod Renard: which is the right one,,and which one is the one that isnt ripping off everyone?
    --BELL--
Yakuzza Lethecus: maybe sustainability should just be enforced through economic insentives, but how to prefent imports from country´s that don´t fullfill our standards
Mickorod Renard: the reason we are receiving so many imports is because multinationals are using cheap imports because they make a bigger profit margin,,,at our expense and the environments
Paul Namiboo: Students call -- sorry and bye for now.
    Mickorod Renard: bye Paul
    Stim Morane: Bye
    Yakuzza Lethecus: bye paul
    Scathach Rhiadra: bye Paul
    Qt Core: bye
Yakuzza Lethecus: i have to admit i bought stuff in china myself a few weeks ago
Mickorod Renard: I have too..he he
Yakuzza Lethecus: including shipping the price was unbeatable
    Yakuzza Lethecus: obviously by airmail
    Scathach Rhiadra: wb Ara:)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: wb ara
Yakuzza Lethecus: or fruits that are imported to europe from newzealand
    arabella Ella: hiya
arabella Ella: three crashes tonite :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: how to increase fee´s and taxes on energyconsumption during transport
Stim Morane: Is it a SL problem, or something wrong with your internet access or computer, ara?
arabella Ella: not sure if you can get my chat
    Scathach Rhiadra: got that line
    Stim Morane: yes
Mickorod Renard: of all modes of transport I would have thought sail ships would have been the easiest and enviromentally favourable of them all
arabella Ella: apologies seems my chat is not getting through either
Stim Morane: I am receiving it, ara
    Mickorod Renard: yes,,me too
    Scathach Rhiadra: me too
arabella Ella: that's weird as i am not :)
    arabella Ella: oh
Stim Morane: Sounds like system lag
Mickorod Renard: what happened to Doug?
Stim Morane: He disappeared a while back
Mickorod Renard: hope I didnt scare him off..with my revolutionary statements
    Scathach Rhiadra: :)
Stim Morane: No, Mick, I'm sure that wasn't a factor.
Mickorod Renard: I remember when I was a kid that one parents income was enough to buy a house and feed a family
Mickorod Renard: but now it seems that we have fallen into a trap
    Mickorod Renard: consumerism enticements
Yakuzza Lethecus: but by that time not everyone got is own car, and it was expected to get a new one all 7 years
Yakuzza Lethecus: today consumption is expected and not every child had is own room
Yakuzza Lethecus: back in the time when my parants grew up
Mickorod Renard: yes, this is true Yaku, and I guess sharing rooms was more environmentally efficients too
    --BELL--
    Stim Morane: hi again, arabella
    arabella Ella: hiya
    Stim Morane: :)
    arabella Ella: still struggling tonite
    arabella Ella: :)
Mickorod Renard: Stim, do you live in a modest style so as to reduce complications of them?
    Mickorod Renard: of possessions
Stim Morane: well i have the advantage of being poor ...
    Stim Morane: :)
    arabella Ella: :)
    Mickorod Renard: he he
    Scathach Rhiadra: :)
Stim Morane: And living in the Bay Area, I almost never drive a car
Stim Morane: It's so easy to walk
    Mickorod Renard: nice
Stim Morane: All my money gets spent on restaurants
Mickorod Renard: I often wonder ..because many budhist monks etc do live frugally
Stim Morane: Well, they simply don't have money
Stim Morane: It's different from being poor
    Stim Morane: :)
    Mickorod Renard: yes
Yakuzza Lethecus: stim: but haven´t you got 4 telephones and 3 computers accorind to a quote in one of ur recordings ? .D
Mickorod Renard: but I guess not having money and having that lifestyle uncomplicates life for them?
Stim Morane: well ... I NEED them!
    Stim Morane: :)
    Mickorod Renard: ;)
Stim Morane: At this point, only 1 of my computers can handle sl
Stim Morane: and the phones are for special types of classes (remote conferencing)
Stim Morane: yes, Mick, monks are supposed to concentrate on other things than our consumer society.
Stim Morane: but then, so should we all, I suppose
Yakuzza Lethecus: consuming is fine, i guess it depends on ,,how we consume"
Mickorod Renard: yes, I often wonder whether the full transformation to inner peace is possible when still connected to the consumer world
Stim Morane: well ... shopping is fun!
    Scathach Rhiadra: :)
Stim Morane: but we seem to have gone a bit far
Mickorod Renard: until the credit card bill arrives
    Stim Morane: yes
Yakuzza Lethecus: hehe, no shopping is not fun
    Stim Morane: no?
Yakuzza Lethecus: you need something you buy it
Yakuzza Lethecus: but shopping is fun ?
    Stim Morane: fun, yes
Yakuzza Lethecus: is shopping to need ?
Stim Morane: my wife loves shopping, and i love to be with her, so shopping is fun.
Yakuzza Lethecus: shopping is happyness through the action of buying
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hehe :)
Qt Core: if possible abolishing credit cards would be interesting (leaving only the one directly linked to your bank account is ok)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: good point
    Mickorod Renard: thats nice Stim
arabella Ella: depends what type of shopping ... some shopping could be boring too
    Stim Morane: true, arabella
Stim Morane: this is another reason to step out a bit from the usual consumer madness
    Stim Morane: anyway, gotta go!
    Stim Morane: bye, everyone!
    Mickorod Renard: bye Stim
    Yakuzza Lethecus: bye stim
    Scathach Rhiadra: good night Stim!
    arabella Ella: bye Stim

    arabella Ella: nite Yaku
    Scathach Rhiadra: good night Yakuzza
    Mickorod Renard: well,,interesting thoughts
    Scathach Rhiadra: :)

Scathach Rhiadra: I must go too, good night all:)
arabella Ella: do you enjoy all types of shopping Mick?
    Mickorod Renard: nite Scath
arabella Ella: i hate shopping in huge supermarkets
    arabella Ella: nite Scath
Qt Core: i hate shopping, both rl and sl
    arabella Ella: he he
Mickorod Renard: well,,I dont like looking endlessly for something that never looks right or fits right
    --BELL--
Mickorod Renard: which was often what I was expected to observe
arabella Ella: and i hate walking for miles in a food supermarket just to look for something when the stuff is moved around
    arabella Ella: he he
arabella Ella: i prefer small grocery shops where you get the basics and know where stuff is located
Qt Core: better yet, different shop from the same group different disposition
    arabella Ella: yes
Mickorod Renard: I dislike having to get things for formal occasions, when I know I dont want them or will never need them again
    arabella Ella: he he
arabella Ella: and me ... the shops here are so small ... clothes shops ... very little choice ... it is the opposite situation to food stores
    Mickorod Renard: yes
Qt Core: the only thing in common two shop from the same group i use is a very cold air conditioning
arabella Ella: oh i hate that too
    arabella Ella: the cold aircon

    Mickorod Renard: yes
arabella Ella: ouch sounds horrible summer or winter
arabella Ella: give me 30 degrees any time
Qt Core: i hoped the crisis would make them a little more wise
Mickorod Renard: I often get the 3rd degree
arabella Ella: yes ... it is so silly of them not to save some energy
    arabella Ella: the 3rd degree?
    Mickorod Renard: brit humour
arabella Ella: no brits here only you :)
Mickorod Renard: its used to describe when you get questioned alot,,over ambarrasing issues
Qt Core: it is the same in italian "terzo grado"
    Mickorod Renard: yeaa
    arabella Ella: ah
arabella Ella: maybe i am not so much into interrogations
arabella Ella: more of a male thing
Qt Core: but it does not have anything in common with the ay you say 30 ;-)
    Mickorod Renard: ;)
Mickorod Renard: are you recieving star trek issues on your tv still Qt?
Mickorod Renard: and do you know if there may be a new one soon?
