Eos Amaterasu: For example, one exercise that's sometimes done here is to pay attention to the "textures" of appearances

Eos Amaterasu: rather than their "content"

Eos Amaterasu: like seeing an oil painting, not a photo of it, where you can almost taste the metallic pigments

Eos Amaterasu: and feel the 3 swirls of the surface

Archmage Atlantis: For me that implies both using other senses than normal and using other brain functions that normal for that entity/person

Eos Amaterasu: I was just talking with someone who knows a lady who did not realize she was stone deaf until about the age of seven

Eos Amaterasu: she could "hear" perfectly when looking at people as they talked

Eos Amaterasu: thought that was normal

Archmage Atlantis: There are many paths, and each is in some degree unique

Archmage Atlantis: That is quite interesting Eos, that's a new one for me

Archmage Atlantis: Especially that she achieved that on her own

Eos Amaterasu: IN school she thought she was not so smart - eventually realized she was missing some things they were getting

Archmage Atlantis: And as a small child

Archmage Atlantis: I know until my parents realized I needed glasses for distance, around the 3rd grade, I was falling behind

Eos Amaterasu: I guess we "tune" our relationships with appearance, and with meaning.... there's a lot of flexibility there (as SL shows :-)

Archmage Atlantis: We are more dependent on our physical senses than we realize, nor do we often realize others perceive a different reality from our own
