    Stargate Tone: Hello Pema
Pema Pera: Hi Nymf, Susi, Stargate!
Nymf Hathaway: Back and hello Pema
    Susi Alcott: wb
    Stargate Tone: wb
    Nymf Hathaway: Thank you
Pema Pera: Do you know whether anyone has claimed the chat log yet?
Pema Pera: I believe this is Tarmel's session, but I don't remember whether she had asked for a replacement
    Susi Alcott: I dont know
Nymf Hathaway: No one so far
Pema Pera: In that case, I'll take care of it
Susi Alcott: well; I promised he 'back then' that I back up her
Susi Alcott: but I'm pleased that you took care of it now
Susi Alcott: so I can withdraw
Pema Pera: she may still come in later, if not, I'll post the log, no problem -- but thank you, Susi!
    Susi Alcott: _/!\_
Stargate Tone: ...as there's them pc probs with Susi...
Pema Pera: Nymf, I'm glad to see that you're so active in SL -- I keep getting notes about events you are involved in
Pema Pera: and also events in Second Nature
Nymf Hathaway: :) yes I like the groups I join :)
Nymf Hathaway: would love to know more about MICA though
    Stargate Tone: _/!\_
Pema Pera: are you on the MICA groups, google email group and/or SL group?
Nymf Hathaway: No, Q is, not me
Pema Pera: which one would you like to be on?
    Pema Pera: or both :)
Nymf Hathaway: Yes... first I would like to read more... whichever way would be best
Pema Pera: just let me know if/when, and I'm happy to add you to either group
Nymf Hathaway: Please do as we speak :)
Nymf Hathaway: The 9 sec.... well Pema I find myself lately exploring my findings and it seems I get better at it every day... the topics here are various which I like best and these provide me enough new thoughts during the day...so so far so good :)
Pema Pera: glad to hear that!
Nymf Hathaway: This works for me...and since I hear everyone about stress, and having less time to spend... this helps
Nymf Hathaway: little periods for yourself
Pema Pera: yes, it seems to fit our time very well :-)
Pema Pera: what happens during the 9 sec, if I may ask, how does it feel?
Nymf Hathaway: first it was hard...because noises are all around...but now I walk into the garden and can close myself from the world and concentrate on 1 thing only...maybe a thought, picture and than I feel restfull/peacefull
Pema Pera: yes, nature helps a lot to quiet our minds
Nymf Hathaway: always used nature for that...trees and ponds :)
Pema Pera: and even in a city, we can always find some trees . . .
    Nymf Hathaway: sure :)
Pema Pera: an interesting variation on the 9-sec exploration is to do it explicitly in a noisy and disturbing situation as well -- to see whether we can drop our tendency to fixate on the noice
Pema Pera: the easiest way to drop something is to avoid it -- a more interesting way to drop our problems is to try not to be bothered by them
Nymf Hathaway: I agree fully...but for starting this I need concentration first...real life is rushed since 30 years and people adjusted to it without even knowing it...same goes for me. But I agree fully the exercise would be perfect for training yourself to be capable to do it anywhere :)
Nymf Hathaway: I agree on the second
Pema Pera: yes, it is best to start in the simplest way, for sure.
    Nymf Hathaway: For practize :)
Pema Pera: yes, indeed, we slowly get used to ever increasing time pressures . . . it creeps up on us, until we see no way out anymore. I myself find it hard to deal with my daily email load.
Pema Pera: I don't want to be impolite or ignore people, and yet I also don't want to spend many hours each day on email -- no clear solution.
Nymf Hathaway: Yes, I can say the same...society became demanding
Nymf Hathaway: Without them even wanting it to...because if we tell someone we are to busy...they always understand...they are in the same boat
Pema Pera: yes, but still many people are getting restless if you don't answer their email within a day -- at least many people I know :)
Nymf Hathaway: Maybe you should set the course... I have noticed such as well but I try not to feel rushed by others (indeed a task in itself) but if they really care about whom they like a reaction from they should be empathic as well...or ask why it is :)
Pema Pera: yes, I agree. Often the pressure we feel is self-imposed, and by replying quickly to please someone else, we also tend to put pressure on them to reply back quickly, a funny cycle!
Nymf Hathaway: Its not your responsibility to teach people patience or manors.... life and reactions or non-reactions are the teachers :)
    Pema Pera: :-)
Nymf Hathaway: as you said :)
Nymf Hathaway: But heh...you teach daily so it must became a habit :))
Pema Pera: that works on various levels, indeed. For a while I used to apologize if I would answer after more than one or two days -- but by and large I've stopped doing that; hopefully that is another small gesture to easing the pressure, making it natural *not* to reply immediately
    Nymf Hathaway: Agrees :)
Pema Pera: Nice talking with you, Nymf -- and just realizing we could have continued in Dutch again, after Stargate left :-)
Nymf Hathaway: yes :) have a wonderful evening Pema and thank you :)
Pema Pera: Ik vind het altijd wel leuk om wat andere talen binnen te halen in PaB :-)
    Nymf Hathaway: Ja helemaal gelijk!
Pema Pera: altijd alleen maar Engels is eigenlijk wel wat flauw
Nymf Hathaway: Voor alle anderen; Fijne dag
    Pema Pera: ja, jij ook!
    Nymf Hathaway: Dag :)
Pema Pera: Ik ga nu zo eten, avondeten hier in Kyoto
    Pema Pera: Tot ziens!
