The Guardian for this meeting was Fael Illyar. The comments are Fael's.

I arrived to the meeting a bit late but apparently just in time to join the conversation.

     Quilty Bookmite: Hi Gaya.
    Gaya Ethaniel: _/!\_
Faenik is a hairy black ball with eyes and ears.
Quilty Bookmite: You have acquired a Faenik!
    Quilty Bookmite: Hi Fael.
Fael Illyar: Hi Gaya, Quilty :)
    Gaya Ethaniel smiles. Yes
Fael Illyar forgot herself editing shape.
    Fael Illyar blushes
    Quilty Bookmite is slightly jealous
    Gaya Ethaniel: mm...? Quilty?
    Quilty Bookmite: Yes? :-)
Fael Illyar: everyone wants Faenik :P

Quilty noticed Gaya was wearing Faenik instead of me.

    Gaya Ethaniel: Ah...
Fael Illyar: well, I can continue editing my shape while chatting :P
    Quilty Bookmite: Sure.
Gaya Ethaniel: How are you Quilty
Quilty Bookmite: I'm fine. Feeling a bit strange for obvious reasons but fine. :-)
Fael Illyar: the extra bright lighting here is a bit of a disadvantage though :)
Fael Illyar: Ah, trying out female AV?
Quilty Bookmite: You could always change that
Faenik points to Gaya. My current can opener...
    Quilty Bookmite: Yes.
    Gaya Ethaniel: Ah, ok
Quilty Bookmite: You look a bit different too. :-)
Fael Illyar: in middle of editing my shape :)
    Quilty Bookmite: I meant Gaya
Quilty Bookmite: Fael always looks a bit different. :-)

I guess I do edit my shape often enough... and change clothes.

    Fael Illyar: Oh :)
Gaya Ethaniel: Perhaps the hair... but recently I've changed Gaya's face because I felt grown up a little.
Quilty Bookmite: I think it was more the hair.
Quilty Bookmite: Maybe I notice these things more in my female persona. :-)
    Gaya Ethaniel: Perhaps Quilty
Fael Illyar: women do pay more attention to these things consciously :)
Fael Illyar: oh right, Quilty, did I tell you I'm actually male in RL yet?
    Quilty Bookmite: No. :-)
Quilty Bookmite: I haven't been hastled by any men so far.
    Gaya Ethaniel: In SL?
    Quilty Bookmite: Yes.
    Gaya Ethaniel smiles. That's good.
Fael Illyar finds that unlikely unless you radically change your AV to meet their fantasies ;)
Quilty Bookmite: But, as I told Solo yesterday, I did get chatted up by a woman.
    Quilty Bookmite: True. :-)
Gaya Ethaniel: I like your female AV... seems rather maternal and friendly
    Gaya Ethaniel: Down to earth...
Quilty Bookmite: Thanks. I guess it's not that appealing to men, although I like it.
    Gaya Ethaniel smiles
Quilty Bookmite: And I don't want it to be appealing to men.
Fael Illyar: Yes, I like the AV as well :)
    Quilty Bookmite: Thanks. :-)
    Faenik: indeed?
Fael Illyar: for some reason I seem to have nearly zero pull to men in SL also.

Which I find a bit strange since my AV is very much made to look attractive.

Quilty Bookmite: I'm still having trouble with clothes. Takes some getting used to.
    Gaya Ethaniel: Feeling awkward?
Quilty Bookmite: just trying to strike the right balance.
Quilty Bookmite: As a man I do look at women in farily sexy clothes but I don;t want to appear that way myself. :-)
Quilty Bookmite: But I don;t want to look boring either. :-)
Gaya Ethaniel runs to kitchen to fetch the kettle. One moment.
    Quilty Bookmite: OK
Fael Illyar: if you keep it up, you'll slowly change the way you dress :)
    Gaya Ethaniel: Interesting... Quilty
Fael Illyar: I couldn't use red hair at first for some reason...
Gaya Ethaniel: You are wearing fairly 'sexy' clothes if I may say so
    Gaya Ethaniel: Ah ok Fael
Quilty Bookmite: I guess so, but maybe not by general SL standards.
    Faenik: could be
Quilty Bookmite: Maybe I'm still thinking like a man. :-)
Gaya Ethaniel smiles. It's all interesting and fun
Fael Illyar: it takes some time to fully get there :)
Quilty Bookmite: You seem to have done very well Fael.
Fael Illyar: this log will need some cutting though :P

And now, a few days later I'm not cutting my own lines out. Interesting what a change few days can bring.

Quilty Bookmite: OK, but don't worry about revealing anything about me.
Fael Illyar: but thank you :)
Gaya Ethaniel: You are ok with that Quilty?
    Quilty Bookmite: Sure.
Fael Illyar: well, Quilty's story is on the wiki already :)
Gaya Ethaniel: Wouldn't it limit you from having genuine experience in interacting with others in SL as a female?
Quilty Bookmite: It is. The change happened during a chat here.
Gaya Ethaniel was in that session <smile>
Fael Illyar: not everyone reads the meeting logs :)
Quilty Bookmite: I forgot. Sorry. :-)
Gaya Ethaniel smiles. No problem, we have many many sessions here
Fael Illyar: Quilty, no you didn't actually forget :P
    Quilty Bookmite: :-)
    Faenik: could be
Quilty Bookmite: Don't want to cause too much of an editing problem. :-)
Fael Illyar: the topic that made you switch gender was the female to male ratio being 4 to 1, right? and I was there :P
Quilty Bookmite: That was part of it. Also someone asked a question about how the gender mix affects the discussion.
    Faenik: なるほど^^
Quilty Bookmite: The thing is, it's quite hard for me to tell who is really male and female from their conversation.
Quilty Bookmite: Maybe I'm not that observant.
Fael Illyar: It's not all that easy, always.

I've been trying to pay attention too, at times.

    Gaya Ethaniel nods
Quilty Bookmite: Or maybe people playing the opposite sex are really getting into the role.
Fael Illyar: some are very good at switching genders mentally :)
    Quilty Bookmite: Yes. :-)
Quilty Bookmite: Interesting that this AV looks maternal. It is based on my wife...
Quilty Bookmite: Who is a mother of one with another on the way.
Fael Illyar: well, it's naturally colored by your perception of your wife :)
Gaya Ethaniel smiles. Maternal... not sure if right word but feels very grown up your female AV unlike Gaya
Quilty Bookmite: I guess so. :-)
Quilty Bookmite: Well, I have a natural tendency not to portray myself as young.
    Gaya Ethaniel: Ah
Fael Illyar: Yes, my current AV doesn't quite look very grown up in some ways :)
Quilty Bookmite: Sorry, my daughter was insisting I feed her a smoothie. :-)
    Gaya Ethaniel: Sure
    Fael Illyar: :)
Quilty Bookmite: When I think of myself when I was younger I feel quite embarassed.
    Gaya Ethaniel listens intently
Quilty Bookmite: So I don't feel inclined to go back to that.
Quilty Bookmite: I was depressed a lot of the time until my mid 30s.
    Faenik: could be
    Gaya Ethaniel: I see
Gaya Ethaniel: So more good memories and feelings that you associate with the period when you were older
Fael Illyar: it's not quite going back to your youth. I find that the way my AV looks is highly influenced by how I unconsciously see myself right now.

Adams appears, with hair all over the place and unusual outfit too. Rather an eye opening sight.

    Fael Illyar: Hi Adams :)
    Gaya Ethaniel: _/!\_
    Quilty Bookmite: Yes.Hi adams.
Gaya Ethaniel: Pls say more Fael?
Faenik is a hairy black ball with eyes and ears.
Fael Illyar: especially if you look at the expression on the face.
Fael Illyar: the age of my AV likely is some kind of an indication as well but just what it is is still unclear to me.
    Quilty Bookmite: Looks very calm.
    Adams Rubble: Hello everyone :)
Gaya Ethaniel zooms on Adams. Wow... what a hair cut
    Quilty Bookmite: Hi Adams.
Fael Illyar: yes, quite a haircut :)
    Quilty Bookmite: Very nice!
Gaya Ethaniel: Lost more weight Adams?
    Adams Rubble: No Gaya :)
Gaya Ethaniel: Your face... is different
Adams Rubble: No, just always looks different with different hair :)
    Gaya Ethaniel: About AVs
Quilty Bookmite: Regarding AV genders, from a Buddhist perspective, we have probably all been each genders many times in past lives.
    Gaya Ethaniel: True Quilty
Adams Rubble: Adams is my spirit guide
Fael Illyar: it's just a convenient way of listening to your "spirit guide". Adams is not it.
    Gaya Ethaniel nods
    Faenik: ah :)
    Adams Rubble: Oh Fael
Gaya Ethaniel: I agree with Fael on this Adams. It's all in you already. Adams R is helping to bring that out of you
Adams Rubble: I never would have recognized it without the use of Adams
Gaya Ethaniel: Yes that's what I meant
Fael Illyar: Sure, but it doesn't mean you need to keep Adams to that role. Now that you're aware of it, there'll be other ways you can listen too.
Adams Rubble: One would think so, but it is not so, at least yet
Gaya Ethaniel: Will come naturally if that to happen Adams. No worries there really
Fael Illyar: Adams is a convenient way to listen to your heart but it's still a roundabout way.
Quilty Bookmite: I'm afraid I need to go.
Fael Illyar: Ok, see you later Quilty :)
Quilty Bookmite: Saturday morning. Must go out and do stuff.
    Adams Rubble: bye Quilty ")
    Quilty Bookmite: Bye all.
    Gaya Ethaniel: _/!\_
Quilty Bookmite: Have enjoyed this girly chat. :-)
    Gaya Ethaniel smiles
