The meeting started in Finnish. No greetings shown because it was a hug that doesn't register in autologger. I was wearing this teddy bear I had gotten yesterday as a freebie and told Star of as well.

A short overview of the Finnish sentences. Star was asking what was the name of this teddybear since she wanted to wear it too and didn't remember which it was. We changed to English after I reminded her about the recording.

Fael Illyar: The shop I got these from was closed for a long time.
Fael Illyar: but it just recently reopened
Stargate Tone: btw; that midnight thing came automaticly as the inventory offer :)*

Star has just experienced how this new hot thing on SL works, Midnight Mania. Basic idea being that there's a target and if that many people click on the board, everyone gets the prize next midnight SLT.

Stargate Tone: yes, but ment that I thought one needs to go and click again to get it
Fael Illyar: it might have been made that way but it's not practical in SL. The scripts don't have enough memory to remember it for long enough.
Fael Illyar: and not everyone can come get their winnings fast.
Fael Illyar: people would just not bother clicking on it in that case.

Stargate Tone: ...well...sad that it's not to transfer as I needed to buy it yesterday...for the PaB celebration meeting

Star was taken by a texture box I unpacked. Another thing I'd received from another midnight mania box this morning.

Fael Illyar: got this for free from another midnight mania box this morning :)
Fael Illyar: oh, looks like a nice texture shop. They're asking for less than it would cost to upload the same textures yourself :)
Stargate Tone: and that's more than unusual
Stargate Tone: well; building is always going on in SL
Fael Illyar: in the notecard, they ask to limit giving them out to friends.
Stargate Tone: very understandable
Stargate Tone: I once found such men's clothing shop that all was copy and transfir
Stargate Tone: thanked the creator

Stargate Tone: also that certain treasure 'box' that was for sell inworld, but it was not to mod even the picture said so
Stargate Tone: so I took contact to the creator and asked such that works out
Stargate Tone: he said; it's not for sale; it's freebie , but in that site; then he sended it to me
Stargate Tone: and that's also with all perms

Fael Illyar: Do you know why people do not sell (or give) things out with both copy&tansfer?
Stargate Tone: sadly I had no time to complete my idea to use it giving it with some my made item
Stargate Tone: ah; there's a lot of reasons to that
Fael Illyar: If you give something out with full perms, other people will start selling it and it'll eventually be sold all around the place.
Stargate Tone: there's always the name of the creators, but if somebody see the item with changes, they take contact to the creator
Fael Illyar: especially if what you give (or sell) is good
Stargate Tone: who may no nothing about the new one
Fael Illyar: Yes, the system just doesn't work for that.
Fael Illyar: It needs to be easily discoverable who has created the item and if he/she also sells it somewhere before it makes sense to give people items copy and transfer.

Conversation has moved to talking about selling things in SL and why full perm items are relatively rare.

Stargate Tone: sure there's also the truth that nothing is free; it's only a question who pay , when, how and how much
Fael Illyar: looking at the profile is too much effort for people to do it for everything they buy.
Fael Illyar: and even if they did find the creator has a shop, it's a lot of effort to find it there.
Stargate Tone: one thing there is too; because many items needs to be mod, for the size for example
Stargate Tone: so...that's one reason not to give the tranfer permission
Fael Illyar: many things are sold nomod but with scripts that do resizing.
Stargate Tone: aha
Stargate Tone: anyway; there's also this style....
Fael Illyar: like this hair I'm wearing... I later found that it's actually sold in a pack of 4 hairs, full perms with 10 colors for 3500L on XSL
Stargate Tone: that also changes if the item is to mod
Fael Illyar: (yes, sold with the idea that others will buy it and then sell it themselves with limited permissions)
Stargate Tone: so I understand that it's not good for the creator to sell anything with copy and transfer perms
Fael Illyar: not so good for the people buying things either, actually... Well, some but...
Stargate Tone: but would like myself that there would be the tranfer model for sell to everything
Fael Illyar: because when you sell things full perm, others will take it, make it no transfer and sell it all around the place.
Fael Illyar: sometimes for high prices, sometimes low.
Stargate Tone: that happenes too, sure
Fael Illyar: so it ends up becoming a common thing. Wearing such marks you poor.

(I'd like to add here that it's because it eventually ends up being distributed in widely known freebie places)

Stargate Tone: and even the way that the item is for sell, but who do buy, only lost the money and dont get any item
Fael Illyar: since they're often very widely known and available as freebies.
Fael Illyar: that I haven't seen happen much.
Stargate Tone: and the buyer takes contact to the creator who donno anything about
Fael Illyar: but yes, that probably also happens.
Fael Illyar: but how does the buyer know who the creator is if they got nothing?
Stargate Tone: and may be that it's even model that the creator dont anymroe have in his/her inventory
Stargate Tone: for the info of the picture
Stargate Tone: and the note card use to be still cuz they use to be copy and transfer
Stargate Tone: ('bought' once beautiful dress only loosing the money)
Fael Illyar: Yes, need to be careful where you buy things.
Fael Illyar: and check if the object actually had something in it before buying
Fael Illyar: Thankfully, the cheaters shops are often poorly built.
Stargate Tone: but how can one do that ?
Fael Illyar: and don't look like an effort has been put into them.
Stargate Tone: well; this shop was builded well; the seller had rented it
