The Guardian for this meeting was Gaya Ethaniel. The comments are by Gaya Ethaniel.
Gaya Ethaniel: Morning Wol.
Wol Euler: good morning, gaya
Gaya Ethaniel: How are you?
Wol Euler: quit well, happy
Wol Euler: and you?
Gaya Ethaniel smiles. I'm good too thanks.
Wol Euler: I like your Ce Cubic jacket :)
Gaya Ethaniel smiles. You know the shop?
Wol Euler: mmhmm
Wol Euler: very nice stuff
Gaya Ethaniel: It's a nice one :)
Gaya Ethaniel: Unusual to see you here at this time...
Wol Euler nods. It's usually in the middle of my working morning, but today is a public holiday in Germany
Gaya Ethaniel: Guessed that :)
Wol Euler yawns and takes another sip of coffee
Those top 100 something something lists...
Gaya Ethaniel: You know that BBC book list you mentioned, my best guess is that it is not drawn up by readers :P
Wol Euler: heh. that was Johnny's guess, I admit I didn't bother to go the Beeb's website to look for it
Gaya Ethaniel: They won't tell you heheheh
Wol Euler: did you do it too?
Wol Euler: (didn't see an update for you...)
Gaya Ethaniel touches her nose. I knew some inside info.
Wol Euler: aaaah :)
Gaya Ethaniel: I read it briefly, haven't had time to do the list yet.
Wol Euler: I'll keep an eye open for it.
Gaya Ethaniel: Seems like a bother with using note etc. :P
Gaya Ethaniel: I was giggling sorry...
Wol Euler: yeah, the software is really rather crude.
Gaya Ethaniel: @ crock of something
Wol Euler: yeh
Wol Euler: "raw natural fertilizer", I think was the expressoin used
Gaya Ethaniel laughs!
Gaya Ethaniel: When I was little, I was fell into a pit of that in a farm
Gaya Ethaniel: I wasn't giggling I tell you :P
Wol Euler: oh dear.
Wol Euler: nor for several days after, I bet.
Gaya Ethaniel giggles.
Gaya Ethaniel: Just a leg no more...
Wol Euler: my cousin Pat fell into a pit of pig manure, he had to sleep outdoors for a week :)
Gaya Ethaniel laughs!
Gaya Ethaniel: What was he doing?
Wol Euler: messing about (he was a kid at the time), trying to walk along the fence rail or somthing
Gaya Ethaniel giggles.
Gaya Ethaniel: Have you noticed those games people take on Facebook?
Wol Euler: the quizzes and such?
Gaya Ethaniel: yeah...
Gaya Ethaniel: After all these years, people still don't seem to know themselves much.
Wol Euler: "42"
Gaya Ethaniel laughs!
Gaya Ethaniel: Yep that's the answer.
Wol Euler: isn't that why we are all here?
Wol Euler: (PaB)
Gaya Ethaniel ponders...
Gaya Ethaniel: Well I'm not looking for 'me'... at least.
Gaya Ethaniel: [difference]
Wol Euler nods
Gaya Ethaniel: You?
Wol Euler ponders. Looking for tools to deal with "me" perhaps.
Wol Euler: though there is also a certain amount of investigative work :)
Gaya Ethaniel nods and smiles.
Gaya Ethaniel: How is your investigation going?
Wol Euler laughs. It has its ups and downs, much like life itself...
Gaya Ethaniel smiles.
Wol Euler: I am finding the tools, though, the Nines are very good for centering and relaxing
Gaya Ethaniel smiles.
Tarmel waxing lyrical about Oz makes a nice change from listening to the water and the birds, no worries Tarmel.
Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Tarmel :)
Wol Euler: evening, tarmel :)
Tarmel Udimo: Hello Gaya and Wol:)
Gaya Ethaniel: How are you?
Tarmel Udimo: just got home from work
Gaya Ethaniel smiles.
Tarmel Udimo: and you?
Gaya Ethaniel: Very well, thanks.
Wol Euler: quite fine, thanks
Wol Euler: hungry but fine ...
Gaya Ethaniel smiles.
Tarmel Udimo: need to have breakfast?
Wol Euler: mmhmm
Wol Euler: already had some Ester chocolate and coffee, bacon & eggs after PaB :)
Gaya Ethaniel smiles.
Tarmel Udimo: were you away for easter, do any thing special ?
Wol Euler: in the Black Forest with friends, celebrating the 1.5th birthday of hteir son
Tarmel Udimo: very nice
Wol Euler: it was! lovely weather, great food, good company ...
Gaya Ethaniel: Sounds nice, I'm hoping for a short walk today otherwise have been at home, reading.
Tarmel Udimo: that's right you're into Spring now!
Wol Euler: mmhmm!
Wol Euler: tulips are blooming, magnolias very near, chestnuts leafing out
Gaya Ethaniel smiles.
Tarmel Udimo: loverley:)
Wol Euler smiles and nods
Wol Euler: you are heading towards winter, Tarmel?
Tarmel Udimo: its raining here very wet got soaked
Wol Euler: what's winter like in Oz?
Tarmel Udimo: what are you reading gaya?
Wol Euler: (sorry, carry on)
Gaya Ethaniel: [GRR Martin, Song of Ice & Fire]
Tarmel Udimo: hummm wet:) but not very cold compared to where you are or Canada
Gaya Ethaniel: Rain is good for Oz right?
Gaya Ethaniel: It's like English summer in Queensland though
Tarmel Udimo: yes except it never falls where it is meant to and the street can't cope
Wol Euler: heh
Gaya Ethaniel: ah...
Tarmel Udimo: we get these bucketloads of water and the streets flood, its all rather than dynamic
Tarmel Udimo: but the wether when not raining and not too cold is spectacular
Tarmel Udimo: its almost perfect because th sun is still warm but the iar a little cool
Tarmel Udimo: air
Wol Euler: that sounds lovely
Gaya Ethaniel smiles.
Tarmel Udimo: humm as far as life style goes its pretty bloody good:)
Wol Euler: :)
Tarmel Udimo: fresh food, good coffee
Tarmel Udimo: etc etc etc
Tarmel Udimo: not sure about English summer though gaya
Tarmel Udimo: Queensland is further north and a lot hotter, so its more tropical...
Tarmel Udimo: pine trees the lot
Gaya Ethaniel: I ran around in shorts and tshirts during my winter visit :P
Tarmel Udimo: yes.. exactly
Gaya Ethaniel: Relatives were shocked wondering why I didn't feel cold.
Tarmel Udimo: humm, yes it drops to 50 and we all rug up:)
Gaya Ethaniel smiles.
Wol Euler: heheheheh
Wol Euler: softies.
Tarmel Udimo: but unlike Canada where you know the day is going to get
colder no matter what you do, it always gets warmer here:)
Wol Euler: but I would die in your summers.
Gaya Ethaniel giggles.
Tarmel Udimo: yes well it depends on what part of the country you're in
Wol Euler: I start to wilt if the temp gets above 28°
Tarmel Udimo: tasmania is beautiful and still acceptable
Tarmel Udimo: its the humidity as long as its dry you don't notice it, in fact its quite pleasent
Gaya Ethaniel nods. Humidity and crowds don't mix...
Tarmel Udimo: the best thing about the heat are the blamy tropical nights, very romantic:)
Gaya Ethaniel smiles.
So many, too many choices to 'keep in touch' these days... I only wrote one letter so far this year... likely my precious bond street blue papers will fade before they are used.
Tarmel Udimo: did i interrupt something?
Tarmel Udimo: please continue..
Gaya Ethaniel: Wol and I were commenting before you came about
Facebook... how people try to find out what they are... ie quiz etc
Gaya Ethaniel: Have you also noticed Tarmel?
Wol Euler: ... and wehther that happens in SL and/or PaB too...
Gaya Ethaniel nods.
Tarmel Udimo: never do those on facebook
Wol Euler: many seem to be scams for collecting e-mail addresses :/
Gaya Ethaniel: Why is that Tarmel?
Tarmel Udimo: yes i always thought so >wol
Tarmel Udimo: well a) i find face book boring compared to SL
Wol Euler: heh, yes
Tarmel Udimo: but now that i have a few friends on that i actually find
it fun seeing what they are up to it its more interesting
Tarmel Udimo: bI have a lot of colleagues on there
Gaya Ethaniel: bl?
Tarmel Udimo: but now a few more 'friends'
Tarmel Udimo: typo
Gaya Ethaniel: ah :)
Gaya Ethaniel: Yes nice to see what friends are up to.
Tarmel Udimo: do you use it gaya?
Gaya Ethaniel: mhm
Tarmel Udimo: to keep up with friends?
Gaya Ethaniel: mhm :)
Gaya Ethaniel: I do have people who are not strictly friends, ex work colleagues but still
Wol Euler: most of my FB friends are people from SL :)
Wol Euler: or family
Gaya Ethaniel: ah... :)
Tarmel Udimo: yes family true
Gaya Ethaniel: Now one can have family only facebook feature... what do you think of that?
Wol Euler: oh, cool. though some things I would be more likely to share with friends than family :)
Gaya Ethaniel: ah ok :)
Wol Euler: that would be an interesting feature: "friends but not family"
Wol Euler: maybe I'll suggest it...
Tarmel Udimo: hummm
Tarmel Udimo: not sure about that
Gaya Ethaniel: You can make a custom list within your friends list Wol for that purpose
Wol Euler: ah! ty
Gaya Ethaniel: yw :)
Gaya Ethaniel: Then play with privacy setting and what's visible etc for each thing you do where applicable.
A new SL resident passes us by... and it was soon time for me to leave.
Gaya Ethaniel: Hi Nico, welcome to PlayasBeing.
Wol Euler: thanks, Gaya, I'll have a look at that.
Gaya Ethaniel: We meet here 4 times a day to discuss the nature of reality and other topics. We record our sessions.
Wol Euler: born today! welcome to second life, nico.
Nico Evanier: im new so i have no clue how to do anything
Gaya Ethaniel: http://playasbeing.wik.is/
Wol Euler smiles. There is a tutorial guide in the Help menu, run through that a few times, it'll get you started on hte basics
Gaya Ethaniel: ah ok welcome to Second Life. Is it ok if we record your name/comments Nico?
Wol Euler: to sit, right-click on a cushion and choose "sit" from the pie menu
Wol Euler: (right-click to _get_ the menu, then left-click in it to select)
Wol Euler: nico, when you do that, do you see a circle with text, like a divided-up pie?
Nico Evanier: no
Gaya Ethaniel: I'm afraid I have to get back to RL. Have a good day/evening :)
Wol Euler: you are clicking hte right mouse button?
Wol Euler: bye gaya, nice to see you again
Tarmel Udimo: bye gaya
Gaya Ethaniel waves and poofs.
Tarmel Udimo: yeah see you soon
Wol Euler: (right as in "not left" that is ...)
Wol Euler: nico?
Nico Evanier: yeah im sorry this is so confusing im going to try to fugure this out another time thanks for your help :)
Wol Euler: ok, take care.
Tarmel Udimo: bye
Nico Evanier: thanks bye :)
Tarmel Udimo: off to breakfast?
Wol Euler: yeah, I'm getting really hungry.
Tarmel Udimo: well maybe see you later waves
Wol Euler: bfn
