SophiaSharon Larnia: I have not, I have been working a lot, and when I work I have little time for anything else
SophiaSharon Larnia: I have read some of the logs though :) What is it that you find magical??
Hana Furlough: it must be really tough to work so hard
Hana Furlough: the if koan log was really nice
SophiaSharon Larnia: I get more days off than most so I cant complain

SophiaSharon Larnia: there is a lot of things to talk about there, but what Pema said about the presence of Namkhai Norbu struck me

Hana Furlough: it's like the rain washed a layer off my mind

SophiaSharon Larnia: is that whats it's like then, that presence, like something is washed off

Eos Amaterasu: it's like when a sound suddenly stops, and you realize it's been there all along, but now it's gone, and you listen
Hana Furlough: that's it, that's it
Hana Furlough: but how do we listen we there are sounds all around us?
Eos Amaterasu: the birds, the water, the sound of my computer fan, the birds outside in RL, ...
Hana Furlough: all very beautiful
Hana Furlough: i guess my question is what about people arguing?
SophiaSharon Larnia: thats a tough one to answer
Eos Amaterasu: it's harder to find the 9 secs in there
Eos Amaterasu: but if you're involved your 9 secs could be there
SophiaSharon Larnia: the answer lies somewhere in knowing it is an appearance
Hana Furlough: and a habit

Eos Amaterasu: knowing it is an appearance, and really feeling that, touching your heart; your stuff is also appearance

SophiaSharon Larnia: which is filtered through the neural pathways
Eos Amaterasu: yes, that's part of the chaos and light/dark touch/go pattern

Eos Amaterasu: i think that in a way if you fully identify with something (which you're at least coproducing anyway), your re-capture it, and can let it change, or go
SophiaSharon Larnia: yes dropping it... I have gotten distracted so quickly
Eos Amaterasu: but in daily life every moment is manual labor ,so to speak
Hana Furlough: how so?
Eos Amaterasu: there's no magic autopilot, to change everything once and forever

Hana Furlough: do we even want an autopilot?
SophiaSharon Larnia: I think the point here is to drop even the thought of dropping it

Eos Amaterasu: yes... highly recommended... especially in Cape Breton the quality of perception is somehow heightened
Eos Amaterasu: the sense fields are limitless, pure - blueness of sky, different blueness of ocean, cliffs, feeling of earth
SophiaSharon Larnia: sorry..... really? I wondered where to go, I was mapping out hotels too
SophiaSharon Larnia: and hard to tell what places are like on a map
SophiaSharon Larnia: I have extended family from the upper east coast in Maine

Eos Amaterasu: Cabot Trail, up the gulf of St Laurence, Inverness, Cheticamp, over the top, back down the other side

Eos Amaterasu: I do do appreciation / recognition practices, both separately and in daily world
Eos Amaterasu: little sensory bombs exploding the nature of the cosmic mirror back to you :-)

Eos Amaterasu: Also, little reminders of that in the environment, home, not separate from that
SophiaSharon Larnia: but phenomena to me has meant things that are observable with my senses, and i wonder how other experiences fit into this
SophiaSharon Larnia: I had often refered to myself as a mirror, usally in a derogatory way, this is a new interpretation for me
SophiaSharon Larnia: and will have to think about it a bit
SophiaSharon Larnia: what do you mean by little reminders?
Eos Amaterasu: reminders of that state of mind, or of that kind of perceptual openness;
Eos Amaterasu: how form and space, objects and space, play together
Eos Amaterasu: so home is supportive, but also undistracted
SophiaSharon Larnia: is thinking
Eos Amaterasu: I was mentioning to Pila that I like to go on outdoor walks, which are kind of APA walks
Eos Amaterasu: analog, no headphones
SophiaSharon Larnia: I have done now a few times :) Get lost in thought and forget to watch where Im going
