Wol Euler was guardian for this session, in the apparent absence of the regularly scheduled GoC.

stevenaia Michinaga: strange about my log last night, spookie, looking for my words to edit and nothing was there

Wol Euler: yeah, I've never heard of that happening, though it's clear that it could easily. All it would take is for the Master not to rezz a Listener for you, or for it to die.

Wol Euler: question is, why would htat happen?

stevenaia Michinaga: but it knew I claimed it

Wol Euler: mmhmm, bu thte Master (the bit that does the claiming and notifying) doesn't actually record anything.

Wol Euler: it just manages the recorders (plural, one each)

    stevenaia Michinaga: scratches head..ofcourse

Wol Euler: now, that might well happen if more than 16people were present, the scanner routines break down in crowds. But that's not thte case, you were a half-dozen at most

    stevenaia Michinaga: nods

Wol Euler: I'll have a look at it tonight.

stevenaia Michinaga: but you say I might have broke it?

    Wol Euler: no.

Wol Euler: we both have listners right now, for example

Wol Euler: I suppose you might have detached it accidentally... hard to do with an invisible object, but not impossible

Wol Euler: anyway, we shall see :)

stevenaia Michinaga: well hoping it works

    Wol Euler: :)

    Wol Euler: hello scath

    Scathach Rhiadra: Hello Wol, Steve:)

    stevenaia Michinaga: hello Scath

    --BELL--

    Pila Mulligan: greetings

    stevenaia Michinaga: hello Pila

    Scathach Rhiadra: Hello Tarmel:)

Tarmel Udimo: So.... what's been happening:)

Hana Furlough: hi tarmel and zen

Pema Pera: Wow, large group! -- isn't Stim the guardian on call today?

    Zen Arado: Hi Hana

    Scathach Rhiadra nods

    SophiaSharon Larnia: Hi everyone !!

    Eliza Madrigal: Hi SophiaSharon :)

    Agatha Macbeth: Hi Soph

Tarmel Udimo: Like your new title Pema!

    Scathach Rhiadra: Hello sophiaSharon

    Hana Furlough: hi sophias

    Pema Pera: :)

    Tarmel Udimo: and Hana

    Zen Arado: Hi Sophia

Scathach Rhiadra: I like Wol's title:)

Pema Pera: Hana is visiting me in RL, in Princeton, for a few months in fact -- taking over the chair that Fefonz occupied last year, literally

Tarmel Udimo: yes most appropriate Wol

    Pila Mulligan: Hi sophiaSharon

Agatha Macbeth: I thought it said 'Pub Manager' at first

    SophiaSharon Larnia: :)

Hana Furlough: it's a very lovely chair

    Gaya Ethaniel giggles.

    Pema Pera: hehehe

    Scathach Rhiadra: :)

    Tarmel Udimo: Lucky Hana:)

Hana Furlough: yes hana is very grateful

Pema Pera: our Pabs are open every night, Agatha

    Agatha Macbeth: Oh, thank you

    Pila Mulligan: hi arabella

    arabella Ella: Hiya everyone

    SophiaSharon Larnia: Hi arabella

    Hana Furlough: hi ara

    Zen Arado: Hi Arabella

    Eliza Madrigal: Hiya Arabella :)

    Agatha Macbeth: Hello Ara

    Scathach Rhiadra: hello Ara

Gaya Ethaniel: Hello arabella and SophiaSharon :)

    Tarmel Udimo: Hi

Tarmel Udimo: So no Steve today?

    Pema Pera: seems that way

    Pila Mulligan: Stim?

    Tarmel Udimo: yes

    Pema Pera: yes

Pila Mulligan: he's on his way, I bet

stevenaia Michinaga: not me I hope

    Eliza Madrigal: :)

    Pema Pera: hehehe

    Tarmel Udimo: heehe

    Agatha Macbeth: :}

Pema Pera: what's your view of reality, Steve?

Pema Pera: (any volunteer to take the chat log?)

Wol Euler comes back to life with a triumphant whisper of "fiat lux"

Tarmel Udimo: Sure, I've been away so its my turn I am sure

    Pema Pera: thanks, Tarmel!

    Tarmel Udimo: wb WOL

    Pila Mulligan: aha

    SophiaSharon Larnia: :)

    Tarmel Udimo: aha

    Pila Mulligan: hi Stim

Wol Euler: ty, tarmel, the same to you!

    Tarmel Udimo: tks

    Pema Pera: Hi Stim!

    --BELL--

Wol Euler: hello zen, sophia, stim, ara

    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Stim :)

    Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Stim :)

    Stim Morane: Hi everyone

    Zen Arado: hello Wol, Stim

    Tarmel Udimo: Hi Stim

    Scathach Rhiadra: Hello Stim

Hana Furlough: hi stim, hi wol

    SophiaSharon Larnia: Hi Stim

    Agatha Macbeth: Howdy

    arabella Ella: Hiya Wol Stim

Pila Mulligan: [13:13] Pema Pera: what's your view of reality, Steve?

Pila Mulligan: closest thing yet to a topic :)

Pema Pera: Nice to meet you here again Stim, now that I am back in the US and able to attend these afternoon sessions

Tarmel Udimo: while its lovely to sit in silence with so many Pabers it seems a shame not share and talk:)

    Wol Euler: so tell us.

Pema Pera: hah, but Steve hasn't answered yet (Stevenaia)

Zen Arado: the oak tree in the garden ? :)

Tarmel Udimo: true enough - SL timing

Wol Euler: (true, sorry. please continue)

Pema Pera: well, Tarmel, you've been traveling -- anything you'd like to share?

stevenaia Michinaga: was scrambling for a link to one of Stim's lectures calsses I was begining to listen to on ethics

Tarmel Udimo: happy to let Steve lead

    stevenaia Michinaga: seems timely

    stevenaia Michinaga: please Tarmel

    Pema Pera: :)

Tarmel Udimo: the old throw the ball routine eh:)

Tarmel Udimo: well the retreat was awazing:)

    Tarmel Udimo: awazing and amazing

    Eliza Madrigal grins

    SophiaSharon Larnia: :)

    Gaya Ethaniel: :)

Agatha Macbeth: Flag down on the play

    arabella Ella: :)

    Stim Morane: :)

Tarmel Udimo: I'm not sure what happened but I would advise anyone thinking of joining the next to do so

    Agatha Macbeth: IT'S ROVER!

    Wol Euler giggles

    Agatha Macbeth: Where's number 6?

    Agatha Macbeth: RIP Pat

Wol Euler: what was your favourite bit, tarmel?

Tarmel Udimo: apart from the food??? no seriously the exercises, the chats the group energy, the place Being with Pema and Stim...

Zen Arado: not a silent retreat?

Tarmel Udimo: no, silent during the exercises or you could call them meditations on BEING

Wol Euler: and a silent *day*. how was that?

    Pila Mulligan: hi Mick

    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Mick :)

    SophiaSharon Larnia: hi Mickorod

    Wol Euler: hello mick

    Agatha Macbeth: Yo Mick

    arabella Ella: hiya Mick

    Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Mick :)

Wol Euler: outer ring for latecomers, mick :)

    Zen Arado: Hi Mick

Tarmel Udimo: oh tks MICK, sitting on people, good entry

    Stim Morane: Hi Mick

    Tarmel Udimo: :)

    Scathach Rhiadra: Hello Mick

    Mickorod Renard: hiya

    Wol Euler: hello bert

    SophiaSharon Larnia: Hi Bertram

    Mickorod Renard: he he

    Pila Mulligan: hi Bertram

Eliza Madrigal: Hi Bertram! :) Wow, may get to use those extra cushions yet

Wol Euler wonders whether this is a new record.

    arabella Ella: hiya bert

    SophiaSharon Larnia: :)

Pema Pera: we often had an exercise/exploration for just ten minutes or so, and then we talked about what we experience and our reflections upon that for half an hour or longer

Pema Pera: it may be: 17 avatars?

    Agatha Macbeth: Guten Abend Bert

SophiaSharon Larnia: (gaurdian take a picture?) :)

Bertram Jacobus: hello all - whaow

Tarmel Udimo: the silent day was different it lacked the usual tension I feel on silent retreats

    Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Bertram :)

Wol Euler: doing taht right now :)

    Hana Furlough: hi bert

Bertram Jacobus: something special today ? oris it by chance that so many are here ? ... :-)

Zen Arado: what kind of things did you explore?

Wol Euler: no such thing as "chance", Bert :)

    Zen Arado: Pema?

    Bertram Jacobus: nice :-)

    Hana Furlough: well-said, wol

    --BELL--

    Pema Pera: various directions, Zen

Pema Pera: starting with an old favorite, Appreciating the Presence of Appearance; also watching thoughts arising, and several other spontaneous ones; if you look at the chat logs of the last few days of August and the first few days of September, you'll see lots of more specific discussions.

    Zen Arado: ok good

Zen Arado: so it was rewarding?

Zen Arado: rather than just zazen?

Pema Pera: it was very far from zazen, Zen :-)

Pema Pera: and yes, very rewarding for all twelve of us, judging from the reactions

Zen Arado: watching thoughts arising sounds like zazen :)

Tarmel Udimo: eah was able to take from the day at whatever level they were at and bring about change

stevenaia Michinaga: I must be off, time to finish my day elsewhere, the sun begins to set here

Tarmel Udimo: of course speaking in RL is very different to the limitations of SL chat

Wol Euler: 'night steve, take care

    Eliza Madrigal: Bye Steven :)

    Mickorod Renard: bye steve

    Tarmel Udimo: bye Steve

SophiaSharon Larnia: Gaya brought up a very interesting question this morning, about what openness is

    Stim Morane: bye Stevenaia

    Zen Arado: bye steve

Hana Furlough: by steven -- enjoy the sunset~

    Agatha Macbeth: Seeya

    Gaya Ethaniel: Bye stevenaia :)

    Zen Arado: Yes Sophia?

    Tarmel Udimo: openness?

Tarmel Udimo: the ability to resonate with any frequency

    Hana Furlough: i like that

    Eliza Madrigal: hm

Zen Arado: not avoiding bad things or grasping the good?

Zen Arado: as Pema Chodron says?

Zen Arado: taking in other ppl's pain

Zen Arado: rather than pushing it away as we normally do

    Zen Arado: ?

SophiaSharon Larnia: the question was "What does 'being open' mean to you all? (had to find it on my comp) :)

Tarmel Udimo: not sure if that helps the person - to take on their pain?

Zen Arado: but it might help you to open your heart

Bertram Jacobus: i like tarmels explanation and agree :-)

Zen Arado: remove the protective armour we wear?

Mickorod Renard: sometimes taking on peoples pain is shutting out ones own

Zen Arado: yes but you take on your own too

    Mickorod Renard: couldnt bear that

Zen Arado: ever heard of Tonglen practice?

Bertram Jacobus: openness is like space ...

Tarmel Udimo: I guess I just don't think you can take on someone else's pain, you can empathize

Tarmel Udimo: in a healing situation yes..

    Bertram Jacobus: yes zen

Zen Arado: but when you open it happens

Zen Arado: apparently our capacity to take it expands

Zen Arado: but I havent got very far with it

Eliza Madrigal: Well the idea is that if you take on another's pain it cultivates a generous spirit... counteracts an impoverished mindset... the idea anyway

Zen Arado: just wondered how it sounded to others

Eliza Madrigal thinks it is a lovely practice and there are many variations it seems

Zen Arado: we separate ourselves from others don't we?

Wol Euler: hello boo, have a seat.

    Mickorod Renard: Hi boo

    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Boo

    Boo: what are you doing?

    Hana Furlough: hi boo

    Pila Mulligan: chatting

    Boo: ah

    Agatha Macbeth: Hello

Pema Pera: Hi Boo! We get together a few times a day to chat about the nature of reality, and everything else, and we have a wiki http://playasbeing.wik.is/ -- We record our conversations there. Do you mind being included in our blogs?

Gaya Ethaniel: What does mean 'to open' anyway?

arabella Ella: to remove walls, barriers

Boo: i will go ahead. but thx for the invitation:)

Bertram Jacobus: the contrary of to close gaya ... ;-)

    Zen Arado: not avoiding

    Zen Arado: shutting unpleasantness off

    --BELL--

Pila Mulligan: btw, September 28 (today), 551 B.C.E. is the traditionally observed birthday of Confucius (maybe this explains today's extraordinary attendance:)

Wol Euler: well, that explains everyhting.

    Wol Euler: ooops

Agatha Macbeth: Confucius was Libra then?

    SophiaSharon Larnia: interesting, Pila :)

SophiaSharon Larnia: open can be seeing all of it, not shutting out unpleasantness

Agatha Macbeth: I didn't know that

    Tarmel Udimo: nice one Pila!

Bertram Jacobus: hey bolonath ! :-)

    Hana Furlough: hi bolo

    Mickorod Renard: hi Bolon

Eliza Madrigal: Openness is one of those words that conjurs a million pictures at once

    SophiaSharon Larnia: yes!

Mickorod Renard: some say I am too open

Zen Arado: we have to even open to ourselves I guess

    Zen Arado: through meditation?

Bertram Jacobus: throughmeditationand good actions - accumulating merit

Zen Arado: beginner's mind - is that the same?

Eliza Madrigal: Who says that Mick?

Mickorod Renard: maybe those who like to be closed

    Wol Euler: :)

    Eliza Madrigal: :)

arabella Ella: openness involves honesty too to some extent

    Eliza Madrigal: yes

Mickorod Renard: its funny, I am at the moment trying to look at everything as positive,,and thats at risk of turning away from some less attractive things

Zen Arado: yes falseness means evasion sometimes?

    Mickorod Renard: a funny balance

Wol Euler: how do you mean, mick? I thought it would be the other way around.

arabella Ella: i meant honesty in the sense of acknowledging what one comes face to face with when one opens oneself up to Being

    Zen Arado: facing reality

    Zen Arado: not delusions

    Bolonath Crystal: namaste @ all

SophiaSharon Larnia: yes Arabella, that is a key there :))

    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Bolonath

Mickorod Renard: well, I think if you want to acknowledge some negative issues its hard to look at everything in a positive way

    SophiaSharon Larnia: Hi Bolonath

Bertram Jacobus: namaste bolonath ... :-)

Eliza Madrigal: maybe not imposing positivity onto things...

    Wol Euler: hello bolonath

    Agatha Macbeth: Salaam

Zen Arado: so positivity can be a bit false then ?

Mickorod Renard: yes, i think so

Wol Euler: I'll give you an intro in IM so we don't disturb the others

    Mickorod Renard: yes please Wol

Tarmel Udimo: the only openess we need to deal with is openess to Being, this will dissolve all those questions and unsureties

arabella Ella: yes we have to accept reality for what it is ... expecting more or expecting otherwise only leads to disappointment ... so why not accept reality with openness

Zen Arado: yes but we find it so hard to really open don't we?

    Zen Arado: prefer our illusions

arabella Ella: some may find it easy, Zen, others more difficult

    Zen Arado: takes time ?

    Zen Arado: yes agree

arabella Ella: different people open in different ways

Hana Furlough: it is faster than you think

arabella Ella: depends a lot on personality and experience

    Zen Arado: on your age?

Mickorod Renard: I think if I was totally open people would think I had Tourette's syndrome..there will always be a need for constraint

arabella Ella: not necessarily on age

Zen Arado: lots more accumulations :)

Pema Pera: on the relative level it takes a life time -- on the absolute level it doesn't take time at all

    Eliza Madrigal: hahahah Mick

    Eliza Madrigal: terrible

    Pema Pera: hehehe, Mick

    Wol Euler: :)

Pema Pera: "open" can also be read as "natural" -- acting in whatever way the situation naturally invites you to do

Zen Arado: opening inwards or outwards?

    Pema Pera: both

    Zen Arado: yes Pema

Pema Pera: Hana and I were talking about that this afternoon during a RL walk in the woods in Princeton

Zen Arado: never thought of outwards

    Wol Euler: cool :)

Pema Pera: Hana, do you want to tell about some of your experiences recently?

    Eliza Madrigal listens

    Wol Euler nods encouragingly

    Hana Furlough: yes

Mickorod Renard: does an expanding universe open outwards and inwards..just an interesting question?

    Zen Arado: listens

Hana Furlough: it was a really nice walk

    Mickorod Renard: soory,,listening

Gaya Ethaniel: How do you learn to act 'naturally' without acquiring another false habit?

Hana Furlough: i think openness isn't what we think it is

Hana Furlough: it's not just allowing or surrendering in the conventional sense

Hana Furlough: it's an active and immediate response to what is going on

Hana Furlough: meeting our darkest places with the strongest love we can muster

Bolonath Crystal: to act according to any situation we have to be rather selfless, imho

    Eliza Madrigal: MM, beautiful Hana

    --BELL--

SophiaSharon Larnia: I'm sorry I have to go, I wish I could stay, have a great discussion everyone :)

    Hana Furlough: thanks, eliza

    Zen Arado: bye Sophia

    Eliza Madrigal: Bye SophiaSharon :)

    Gaya Ethaniel: Bye SophiaSharon :)

    Hana Furlough: bye sophias~

    Bolonath Crystal: bye sophia

    Agatha Macbeth: Bye Soph

    Stim Morane: bye sophia

    Mickorod Renard: bye sophia

Zen Arado: acting from intuition rather than thinking?

Eliza Madrigal: So openness is active as well as receptive

Hana Furlough: yes in a sense

Hana Furlough: but more like acting with compassion not judgement

arabella Ella: involving a sense of accepting

Mickorod Renard: I think openness brings about a certain sensitivity

    Eliza Madrigal nods

    Hana Furlough: i agree

    Zen Arado: yes

Zen Arado: thins the self protective armour

    Eliza Madrigal: or shatters it

Zen Arado: that also shuts out compassion?

Hana Furlough: the self-protective armour cannot resist, though, that is the good news

Mickorod Renard: yes, although i struggled with being too sensitive..in real life everyday situations

Pila Mulligan: we have ordinary ups and downs in cycles along a base line that is the mundane day to day stuff making up most of our life -- is it a helpful perspective to observe occasional increments in the satisfaction level at the base line rather than striving toward bliss at the peak

Gaya Ethaniel: I think self disconnects ... anyhow, thank you for an interesting discussion. Time to go.

    Hana Furlough: what peak?

    arabella Ella: bye Gaya

    Eliza Madrigal: Bye Gaya :)

Hana Furlough: there is only here and now

Wol Euler: bye gaya, take care

    Gaya Ethaniel: Bye :)

    Hana Furlough: bye gaya

    Scathach Rhiadra: bye Gaya

    Mickorod Renard: bye Gaya

    Zen Arado: bye Gaya

    Bolonath Crystal: bye gaya

    Stim Morane: Bye Gaya

    Pema Pera: bye Gaya

arabella Ella: interesting comment Pila ... could you elaborate please ... what is your opinion on that?

Pila Mulligan also needs to be going -- bye for now

Wol Euler: bliss and misery are equally unrepresentative outliers IMHO

    Eliza Madrigal: Bye Pila :)

    Wol Euler: bye pila

    Zen Arado: Bye Pila

    Pila Mulligan: (maybe later ara:)

    Tarmel Udimo: bye all

    Bolonath Crystal: cu pila

    Hana Furlough: bye pila~

Scathach Rhiadra: good night all, nice to see you again Tarmel:)

    Hana Furlough: bye tarmel

    Eliza Madrigal: Night Scath :)

    Hana Furlough: bye scathach~

    Zen Arado: Bye Scath

    Pema Pera: bye Scathach!

Wol Euler: bye tarmel, take care; night scath

    Mickorod Renard: bye tarmel

    Stim Morane: bye Scathach

    Pema Pera: bye Tarmel

    Mickorod Renard: nite scath

Pema Pera: (/me quietly slips away too, have to catch my train -- good talking with y'all !)

    Hana Furlough: me too

    Eliza Madrigal: Bye Pema :)

Zen Arado: you too bye Pema

Wol Euler: bye pema, enjoy the evening

    Hana Furlough: !

    Mickorod Renard: by Pema

    Tarmel Udimo: bye Pema

Stim Morane: yes, I have to leave too. Bye everyone!

    Agatha Macbeth: So long dude

Hana Furlough: have a great night

    Mickorod Renard: bye hANA

Eliza Madrigal: Bye Hana , Stim :)

Wol Euler: bye stim, take care

    Zen Arado: ByeStim

arabella Ella: bye Pema Hana Stim

    Mickorod Renard: BYE sTIM

Bolonath Crystal: bye to all leaving

    Zen Arado: be hana

    Tarmel Udimo: bye Stim

    Stim Morane: bye everyone!

Zen Arado: spend all our time saying helo and goodbye here:)

Mickorod Renard: yea,,its hard work keeping up with the bye's

    Wol Euler: :)

Tarmel Udimo: yes really noticed that now I've been away:)

Eliza Madrigal: hello hello, don't know why you say goodbye...

arabella Ella: we may need abbreviations ... perhaps the guardian could just say GB or Hi

Eliza Madrigal: It is also striking today because such a large group

    Zen Arado: :)

Bertram Jacobus: yes.that's why i idn't do it today zenenough alredy for myfeeling ... ;-)

Eliza Madrigal: We could make "Hello" tags, and "Goodbye" tags

    Eliza Madrigal: hehhehe

Mickorod Renard: maybe just the wave anim

    arabella Ella: :)

Eliza Madrigal: "Assume I said Hello and Goodbye"

    Tarmel Udimo: sounds god

    Tarmel Udimo: well that too

Bertram Jacobus: i say hi and bye when i feel, it isn't too much

    Eliza Madrigal: hehehe

Eliza Madrigal: Actually, it is nice to be said hello and goodbye too...not sure that would be good to drop

Tarmel Udimo: sorry folks I think I am due at the next event - nice to see you all

Eliza Madrigal: Bye Tarmel :) Nice to see you

    Wol Euler waves

arabella Ella: nite Tarmel lovely to see you are back

    Zen Arado: Bye Tarmel

    Mickorod Renard: bye Tarme;

Tarmel Udimo: nice to be here!

    Eliza Madrigal: :)

    arabella Ella: :)

Bolonath Crystal: doesn't say bye to prevend flooding ;)

    Eliza Madrigal: :)

Bertram Jacobus: and i sy it when i feel that there are not enough friendly voices (what doesn't happen here -that's elsewere) ... :-)

Zen Arado: what stops us being open?

    arabella Ella: inhibitions

    arabella Ella: fears

Wol Euler: the usual, I'd guess: fear, habit

    Zen Arado: fears of what?

    arabella Ella: insincerity

    Bertram Jacobus: nothing ?

    Wol Euler: laziness

    Eliza Madrigal: nabits of fear

Bolonath Crystal: i think, gaya hit it by saying "self disconnects"

    Agatha Macbeth: Defence/defense

    Eliza Madrigal: habits

arabella Ella: fear of loss of esteem from others, fear of change

Mickorod Renard: defence I think works

Zen Arado: ego in other words?

    Bolonath Crystal: yes

    Mickorod Renard: yes

    Mickorod Renard: ego too

arabella Ella: ego for some ... not all cases

Eliza Madrigal: PaB cultivates a kind of openness... why we come here I think

arabella Ella: perhaps lack of self worth or lack of self esteem for some

Bolonath Crystal: ego disconnects from reality

    --BELL--

arabella Ella: nite everyone must go now

Wol Euler: bye ara, take care

Eliza Madrigal: Nite Ara :) Mick :)

    Wol Euler: and bye mick

Mickorod Renard: I must go too,,thanks for tonite

    Agatha Macbeth: Auf wiedersehen

Zen Arado: we need some defences ...or do we?

    Bertram Jacobus: .-))

    Mickorod Renard: shouldnt need defences

    Zen Arado: bye Wol, Mick

Eliza Madrigal: I think one of the biggest obstacles to openness might be thinking we are open

    Wol Euler: :)

Eliza Madrigal: we just don't know we're carrying things sometimes til they drop

Mickorod Renard: maybe ur right eliza

    Zen Arado: yes

Agatha Macbeth: It's all about not getting hurt i think

Zen Arado: yes we get hurt

    Zen Arado: is that bad?

Agatha Macbeth: Depends whether we learn from it

Zen Arado: maybe if we open to it it is better?

Bolonath Crystal: it is the ego which gets hurt. the "real self" doesn't

    Eliza Madrigal: hm

Wol Euler shrugs. Wishing to avoid pain seems natural and normal to me...

Zen Arado: it is dragons in the cupboard somwtimes?

    Agatha Macbeth: lol Wol

    Zen Arado: fears magnify

    Wol Euler: mmhmm

Eliza Madrigal: Zen you mentioned Pema Chodron earlier... she talks about opennes as a kind of constant, unrequited love

Bolonath Crystal: pain can be a good teacher... should we always try to avoid it? or can we even use it somehow?

    Zen Arado: yes?

Zen Arado: I was reading here Lojong teachings

Zen Arado: don't remember that expression though Eliza

    Zen Arado: sounds good though

Zen Arado: or true rather than good :)

Bertram Jacobus: pain ... i had enoughf it inthe last times ... butif onecan bear it - good. and milarepa said : even pain is joy for me ...

Zen Arado: I have heardthat advanced buddhist practtiioners welcome suffering

Zen Arado: it shows them what they need to work on

Wol Euler: sure, but they probably don't go looking for it :)

Bolonath Crystal: well, sometimes it is unavoidable. at least then we could try to make something of it

    Agatha Macbeth: :)

Eliza Madrigal: well I've been advised to deal with the difficult people in my life as my greatest teachers...hehe

    Wol Euler: mmhmm

Zen Arado: yes ..sounds masochistic :)

Eliza Madrigal: yes many of these things do at first don't they

    Agatha Macbeth: :)

    Eliza Madrigal: hehe

Zen Arado: how do we know what we can bear?

Zen Arado: we can surprise ourselves

Agatha Macbeth: I hurt therefore I am

    Zen Arado: :)

Bolonath Crystal: we know it, when we are still alive, zen

Bertram Jacobus: at least when we break together we know we couldn´t zen

Zen Arado: mental torture is the worst though?

    Agatha Macbeth: No, emotional

Wol Euler: I don't know, and hope never to find out.

    Eliza Madrigal nods

Zen Arado: and we often provide ourselves with that :)

Bertram Jacobus: both can be heavy : mental and physical pain

Eliza Madrigal: it doesn't really help anything to know... so if I have a situation and I think "I can't handle this" well what do I do... I still have it

Bertram Jacobus: but i wish happyness for all beings

Zen Arado: yes and for ourselves

    Bertram Jacobus: iam a being

Agatha Macbeth: There's no way everybody can be happy

Zen Arado: may all beings be happy

Bertram Jacobus: it's a wish agatha

    Bertram Jacobus: a good one

Agatha Macbeth: I sse Bert, thanx

    Bertram Jacobus: anice thought

    Agatha Macbeth: see

    Bertram Jacobus: :-))

    Agatha Macbeth: Enschuldigen Sie mich

    Zen Arado: I better go

    Zen Arado: thanks for discussion

    Eliza Madrigal: Bye Zen

Eliza Madrigal notices she never saved her pic from earlier...

    Agatha Macbeth: SILLY!

    Eliza Madrigal: :)

    Wol Euler: ah :)

Eliza Madrigal: It is nice to see PaB that full... should have snapped the ball floating :)

Wol Euler: I got one, and will post it on the log

    Agatha Macbeth: Ah what Wol

    Eliza Madrigal: Nice, thanks Wol

Wol Euler: I took a screenshot of the full circle, looking down on us

Eliza Madrigal: ooh, love those shots

Eliza Madrigal: speaking of avoiding pain, I need to get my son back on task with his homework

    Wol Euler: :)

    Eliza Madrigal: :) Thanks everyone

    Agatha Macbeth: Best of luck!

Wol Euler: 'night eliza, take care

    Bolonath Crystal: bye eliza

    --BELL--

Bertram Jacobus: good night eliza !... :-)

Bolonath Crystal: i try to work it out, wol

    Wol Euler: :)

Wol Euler: there is a lot to learn.

Bolonath Crystal: the prog has a nasty habit of crashing *g*

Wol Euler: really? which viewer are you using?

Wol Euler: (SL does stretch computers pretty far...)

Bolonath Crystal: that's a good question...

Agatha Macbeth: Good job we're not using Amigas

Wol Euler: the window bar should tell you the name and version; otherwise in the Help menu under "about SL"

    Agatha Macbeth: It's quiet......too quiet

    Wol Euler: :)

Agatha Macbeth: Cliche of the night?

Bertram Jacobus: i like quietness ...

Agatha Macbeth: Me too, most of the time

    Bolonath Crystal: me 2

    Wol Euler: mmhmm

Agatha Macbeth: But then there are OTHER times......

Wol Euler: I guess that is why we are here, rather than poledancing somewhere ...

Bolonath Crystal: is now an OTHER time, agathe? ;)

    Agatha Macbeth: Poledancing? Yuk

Bertram Jacobus: "sometimes" i feel, all is too loud or / and fast ...

Agatha Macbeth: We have the US to blame for that :)

    Wol Euler: :)

    Agatha Macbeth: Seriously though.

Agatha Macbeth: No offence to any Americans still here

Bolonath Crystal: i'm not fond on blaming others

Wol Euler thinks it was *probably* a joke.

Bolonath Crystal: if i just listen to my inner voices there is noise more than enough ;)

    Agatha Macbeth: It was!

    Bertram Jacobus: :o)

Agatha Macbeth: People take me waaaaaaaaaay too seriously

    Bertram Jacobus: :-)

    Bolonath Crystal: probably

    Agatha Macbeth: Yeah, true

Bertram Jacobus: i notice my breathing (!):-)

    Wol Euler smiles

    Agatha Macbeth: Is it heavy?

    Bertram Jacobus: not really.

    Bertram Jacobus: more relaxed now

Agatha Macbeth: I just thought with all these gorgeous women about.....

Bertram Jacobus: and one or some deeper ones

    Bertram Jacobus: okay -

    Bertram Jacobus: that's a reason:-)

    Agatha Macbeth: hee hee

    Bertram Jacobus: athing

    Wol Euler: :)

    Bertram Jacobus: a topic :o)

Bolonath Crystal: and a nice log anyway ;)

    Agatha Macbeth: Possibly

    Bertram Jacobus: probably ;-)

    Agatha Macbeth: Verily

    Bertram Jacobus: sure ? :-)

Agatha Macbeth: I'm not sure of anything dude

    Wol Euler: relatively.

    Bertram Jacobus: great

Agatha Macbeth: I'm not even sure what I'm doing here

    Bertram Jacobus: chating ?communicate?

Wol Euler: stick around, let it happen.

    Bolonath Crystal: great

Agatha Macbeth: When did I become 'du' Wol?

Bertram Jacobus: sometimes i feel spontaneous love for people around me (!) ...

Wol Euler: sorry, it's a habit. Most people are "du" on the internet...

    Wol Euler: no offence intended.

Agatha Macbeth: No, I'm flattered I guess....

    Bertram Jacobus: :-)

Bolonath Crystal: i love this surrounding... the birds, the crickets... so peaceful

Agatha Macbeth: Familiarity breeds contempt but a lack of it doesn't breed anything

Wol Euler: it's a lovely place, bolonath, I often come here and sit.

    Bolonath Crystal: :)

Agatha Macbeth: Oscar Wilde, not me

Wol Euler: where would we be without oscar?
