Archmage Atlantis: i was dreaming I was here, then I woke up, and realized I wasn't
Archmage Atlantis: Since I commited to be here, it was a bit mixed
Archmage Atlantis: Um, we probably would do better with a topic, other tham my personal stuff

Qt Core: but it is a nice temp compared to the mid 20 F we had during the day earlier this and past week

Zen Arado: no care worker turned up this morning either
Zen Arado: supposed to come at 7.30
Qt Core: that's no good
Zen Arado: I rang up and somebody just came
Zen Arado: but they are supposed to help me get up from bed
Archmage Atlantis: Umm, wish I could do that for you
Zen Arado: I have a guy comes 6 days a week and he always shows up but if he is off it is touch and go if anyone shows up
Archmage Atlantis: That makes sense
Qt Core: trying to imagine the reaction of your local social services being bombarded by phone calls or emails asking them to help you :-)
Qt Core: that is coming from italy or florida
Archmage Atlantis: It's always touch and go here
Zen Arado: young women don't want to work weekends
Archmage Atlantis: They have families
Zen Arado: they want to have a lie in on Sundays
Qt Core: and then if you alweays get the same person some form of friendship may born, the substitutes don't "know" you so touch and go

Zen Arado: well I start insisting someone comes

Zen Arado: I used to say 'don't bother I am ok now'

Zen Arado: I can manage without them atm
Archmage Atlantis: You have helped me see that
Zen Arado: when I was in hospital a while in July they wouldn't let me out until a care worker was arranged
Archmage Atlantis: understand
Zen Arado: I prefer to be independent

Qt Core: but they don't want to be responsible if you do something wrong and hurt yourself, right ?

Archmage Atlantis: It is not that they don't want to be responsible.......they just need to protect others

Zen Arado: I couldn't get up from the bed in hospital
Zen Arado: but my own bed at home is easier
Qt Core: and better known

Archmage Atlantis: Yes, I had to wait for someone to take me to the toilet in the hospital
Archmage Atlantis: And it did not fit me
Zen Arado: toiletting in hospital was a nightmare for me
Archmage Atlantis: So things I could do at home, I could not do in the hospital
Zen Arado: no disabled toilet - can you imagine - in a hospital?
Archmage Atlantis: yes
Zen Arado: exactly Arch
Zen Arado: and if you are a bit weak as well...
Zen Arado: you have to train the nurses about transfer boards
Zen Arado: some had never seen one
Archmage Atlantis: Still, that is what all alive face.......women have less physical strenght than men, children less than parents, animals less than humans
Zen Arado: and the bed was about 6" higher than my wheelchair which made transfers almost impossible
