--BELL--
Catrinamonblue Resident: nice and quiet :)
Rosatta Resident: Wonderful :)
Rosatta Resident: It has been a peaceful day, here, too
Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Rosatta Resident: We need more of these
Catrinamonblue Resident: nods
Catrinamonblue Resident: Hi Korel :)
Korel Laloix: Heya
Rosatta Resident: Hi, Korel. Good to see you again :)
Korel Laloix: Thanks.
Korel Laloix: Hyper lag today again.
Catrinamonblue Resident: :(
Rosatta Resident: It has been most of the day. SL must be very busy
Catrinamonblue Resident: SL has been fine for me today :)
Korel Laloix: Or maybe there are instaling another lag producing "improvement".. lol
Rosatta Resident: Wonderful :)
Rosatta Resident: I'm glad SL has behaved for you, Cat
Catrinamonblue Resident: I've probably just jinxed myself by saying so ;)
Rosatta Resident: lol Well, maybe you can to an un-jinxing thing
Rosatta Resident: In Spritied Away the bath keeper has the liittle girl
Rosatta Resident: put her thumbs and forefingers together forming a diamond
Catrinamonblue Resident: yes I remember that :)
Rosatta Resident: and then someone else says "Evil be gone!" and moves their hand through hers - lol
Catrinamonblue Resident: doing it right now ;)
Catrinamonblue Resident: mmm need someone else though for the evile be gone part
Rosatta Resident: Well, it seems like turning the thought into something playful is effective against negativity a lot of times
Rosatta Resident laughing in delight
Rosatta Resident: Computer jinx BEGONE!
Rosatta Resident passes her hand through Cat's fingers
Catrinamonblue Resident: yay!!! ty rosatta I'm saved from the jinx :)
Catrinamonblue Resident: laughing
Rosatta Resident dong the happy dance
Catrinamonblue Resident: the joy in life is in the little things :)
Rosatta Resident: Yes. And focus/mindfulness
Catrinamonblue Resident: nods
Tealkie Resident: 's current display-name is "Tealkie".
Rosatta Resident: Hi, Telakie. Any pillow :)
Catrinamonblue Resident: Hello Telakie have you been to PaB before?
Tealkie Resident: no 1st time here
(I im'd tealkie and got permission for posting as well as giving her a nc)
Korel Laloix: brb relog
Rosatta Resident: The topic this week is a puzzler for me lol
Rosatta Resident: I can't read it very well, would someone be willing to type it into chat?
Catrinamonblue Resident: freedom as related to dropping :)
Rosatta Resident: ty :)
Rosatta Resident: I knew it was a puzzler lol
Rosatta Resident: Well, I belong to an online support group for
Rosatta Resident: people dealing with hoarding and house keeping issues
Catrinamonblue Resident: listens
Rosatta Resident: One of the things I've learned there is dropping possiesions - getting rid of them - is very freeing if there are too many
Rosatta Resident: So many "I'll will get around to using that"s and then I can't find what I want to use
Catrinamonblue Resident: nods
Rosatta Resident: And taking care of things is time-consuming
Catrinamonblue Resident: yes :)
Rosatta Resident: The more things, the less time for things other than upkeep and cleaning
Rosatta Resident: I read something years about by a woman who liked to read. One day she came home form the library
Rosatta Resident: with an arm load of books and her neighbor was outside sweeping
Rosatta Resident: Her neighbor gave her a scornful look and said
Rosatta Resident: "My mother always told me a woman who reads is a woman with a messy house"
Rosatta Resident: The author agreed, and kept on reading lol
--BELL--
Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Rosatta Resident: I am hoping to simplify enough that I can do both
Rosatta Resident: I was talking to someone in another SIM about the idea from the song from the Lion King that says
Rosatta Resident: the moment you step into the world and open your eyses
Rosatta Resident: there are more things to do than can ever be done,
Rosatta Resident: more things to see than can ever be seen
Rosatta Resident: maybe this weeks topic is about simplifying?
Catrinamonblue Resident: it could be
Rosatta Resident: I've talked a lot :)
Catrinamonblue Resident: no worries I'm not talkative tonight and wht you are saying is really good stuff :)
Rosatta Resident: ok ty :)
Catrinamonblue Resident: there is a sense of freedom in letting go of the stuff that clutters our lives
Catrinamonblue Resident: a lightening of our burdens , this goes for both physical stuff and emotional as well I would think
Rosatta Resident: I think so , too
Catrinamonblue Resident: Hi Druth :)
druth Vlodovic: hi guys
Rosatta Resident: I read a quote long ago, and I don't remember who said it, but it was essentially: If you only want one thing in life you are sure to get it, but I want everything and therefore end up with nothing
Rosatta Resident: Hi, Druth :)
Rosatta Resident: We were wondering about this week's topic - freedome as related to dropping
Rosatta Resident: and thinking it might have something to do with simplifying our lives
druth Vlodovic: wanting is often setting oneself up for disappointment
Rosatta Resident: Any other thoughts are welcome :)
Rosatta Resident: True
druth Vlodovic: "We want, nothing from you!" "You shall receive it, in abundance." -Rocky Horror Picture Show
druth Vlodovic: sorry, always wanted to use that in some context :)
Rosatta Resident: That sounds sad :(
Catrinamonblue Resident: I have never watched that show
Tealkie Resident: I need to go thank you for letting me sit in
Rosatta Resident: I walked out of it, to be honest
Rosatta Resident: By, Telakie :) Thank you for coming
druth Vlodovic: aww,have fun tealk
Catrinamonblue Resident: She went before I could say bye :)
druth Vlodovic: I've always thought of it as a classic
druth Vlodovic: perhaps I want too much to share my tastes
Rosatta Resident: Well, when both the people seeking refuge were sexually decieved by the same person, it didnt' work for me
Rosatta Resident: And cannibalism is deeply revolting to me, even in jest
druth Vlodovic: true enough
Rosatta Resident: So I left
--BELL--
Catrinamonblue Resident: mmm glad I have not seen it and now have no desire to ever see it (shiver)
druth Vlodovic: interesting, cat sent me a notecard with the chat
druth Vlodovic: [19:18] Rosatta: the moment you step into the world and open your eyses [19:18] Rosatta: there are more things to do than can ever be done, [19:18] Rosatta: more things to see than can ever be seen [19:18] Rosatta: maybe this weeks topic is about simplifying?
druth Vlodovic: could you explain your thoughts on this per simplifying?
Rosatta Resident: I belong to an online support forum for people who struggle with hoarding or housekeeping issues
Rosatta Resident: One of the things I've experienced as I've worked with that site is much easier
Rosatta Resident: housekeeping is getting as I eliminate all the "I will use that some day" things
Rosatta Resident: 'dropping' stuff is giving me a greater sense of freedom - or maybe actual freedom
druth Vlodovic: I have about half a shelf of books in that category :-/
Rosatta Resident: If you would like to check out the forum it is takeonestepatatime.proboards.com
Catrinamonblue Resident: click :)
Rosatta Resident: It has a lot of tools, plus a lot of supportive people
Rosatta Resident: I have two blogs there
Rosatta Resident: My board name there is Still
Catrinamonblue Resident: will check it out then :)
druth Vlodovic: why two blogs?
Rosatta Resident: One is off-topic and in a separate section
Rosatta Resident: I have been working with the book The Artists Way in the off-topic one
Rosatta Resident: The other is my day-to-day efforts to deal with housekeeping and personal care stuff
Rosatta Resident: liek taking my nutritional supplements consistently
Catrinamonblue Resident: intersting
Rosatta Resident: Being consistent has been nearly imposible for me
druth Vlodovic: interesting that you put them in the same category
Rosatta Resident: SOOS has really helped
Rosatta Resident: Self-care and home care?
druth Vlodovic: I suppose it's logical :)
druth Vlodovic: the home is an extension of the self
Rosatta Resident: Well, my body is my very personal 'house' lol
druth Vlodovic: :)
Rosatta Resident: Yes - that makes sense. Ty for that thought
druth Vlodovic: there is a concept that there is no starting or ending point for the self
druth Vlodovic: so we are part of our environment and the people around us
druth Vlodovic: and vice versa
Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Rosatta Resident: I believe that. I think nothing happens that doesn't effect everything.
Rosatta Resident: Have you seen the movie "What The Bleep Do We Know?" ?
druth Vlodovic: no
Catrinamonblue Resident: no
druth Vlodovic: what is it about?
Rosatta Resident: Now I'm trying to figure out why I thought it was relevant lol
Rosatta Resident: But I do highly recommend it
Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Rosatta Resident: It is partly scripted and partly documentary
Rosatta Resident: and the concept is that thoughts are energy
Rosatta Resident: and tries to show the connection between science and this idea
Rosatta Resident: And through it is the story of a deaf woman who hates herself and learns that by doing that she is harming her body through thoughts
Catrinamonblue Resident: oh
Catrinamonblue Resident: sounds intersting
Rosatta Resident: In the end she gets in a bath and uses a blue eye liner pencil to draw hearts on herself
Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Rosatta Resident: because she was learning she has the right - and the need - to love herself
druth Vlodovic: they are finding scientific evidence that thoughts can harm and heal the body
Rosatta Resident: It's a fascinating movie with it's imagery and concepts
--BELL--
Rosatta Resident: It looks at behaviors and thoughts as addictive processes and the chemicals produced in the body that is part of the addictive cycle of certain thoughts and behaviors
Rosatta Resident: I just saw what you wrote. Ty :)
Catrinamonblue Resident: interesting concept
druth Vlodovic: habits
druth Vlodovic: habits and identities can be seen as "addictive processes"
Rosatta Resident: If you are curious, I would recommend the original one released to theaters
druth Vlodovic: since both create behaviours that reinforce themselves
Rosatta Resident: According to the movie, each thought is a different chemical
Rosatta Resident: in the brain
druth Vlodovic: there seems to be a religion based on it, or based on the same concepts
Rosatta Resident: lol people will make a religion out of anything, won't we?
druth Vlodovic: easier than thinking about things for ourselves :)
Rosatta Resident: True.
Rosatta Resident: Well, I have a bit of a silly thought about dropping and freedome
druth Vlodovic listens
Rosatta Resident: I feel I gain freedom when people 'drop' ideas and I pick them up and make them a part of me - helpful, healing ideas, of course
Rosatta Resident: and the 'dropping' part is where they are shared without any pressure to do something
Rosatta Resident: I feel I've gained freedom often through that process
Rosatta Resident: I've come to love these times in PaB because that happens a lot here
Catrinamonblue Resident: ty Rosatta I think that too and it's lovely :)
Rosatta Resident: :)
druth Vlodovic: dropping stones in my pond
Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Rosatta Resident: :)
druth Vlodovic: dripping off...
druth Vlodovic: have fun guys :)
Catrinamonblue Resident: Bye Druth
Rosatta Resident: It has been good having you be here
Rosatta Resident: Have a good night, dear one
Catrinamonblue Resident: It's getting late here too and I shold be off to bed :)
Catrinamonblue Resident: night Rosatta :)
Catrinamonblue Resident: it has been great talking with you tonight :)
Rosatta Resident: Good, night Cat
Rosatta Resident: Thank you for everything :)
