stevenaia Michinaga: hi Korel
Korel Laloix: Heya
stevenaia Michinaga: how have you been?
Korel Laloix: Busy but good.
Korel Laloix: New job and new place to live.
Korel Laloix: And silly lagged.
stevenaia Michinaga: nods, congrats, so the boss who loved scotch is no longer your boss?
Korel Laloix: That is correct.
Korel Laloix: Not sure what the people are like at the new place yet... but they seem good so far.
Korel Laloix: What you been up to?
stevenaia Michinaga: new jobs are always exciting to start, I have also been getting busier, seem I've been getting more and more in the middle of things that take up more time they should but involve interesting people :)
stevenaia Michinaga: hi Para, you made it
stevenaia Michinaga: I’ve also been having strange silly dreams lately
Korel Laloix: Heya
Paradise Tennant: I did .. we ended up skipping the movie and just listening to some jazz at the Rex
Paradise Tennant: listens loves strange silly dreams
Paradise Tennant: pretty hair korel!
stevenaia Michinaga: well, I currently have plastic glass frames that I replaced a few months ago, this dream was about my broken glass frames
stevenaia Michinaga: and the glue I used to hold the old once together, in the dream it was far messier than it was in RL
stevenaia Michinaga: *ones
stevenaia Michinaga: was a long involved process to keep them attached where they broke at the bridge of my nose
stevenaia Michinaga: sticky, never drying mess
stevenaia Michinaga: thought things were always simpler in a dream
Paradise Tennant: could be a metaphor for trying to reach clarity ..to really see clearly
stevenaia Michinaga: that was it, ... wonders how dreams relate to freedom
stevenaia Michinaga: do they free us or trap us in some other place
stevenaia Michinaga: do dreams keep us from dropping?
stevenaia Michinaga: the seems to always arise from things we are holding on to
Korel Laloix: Back.. thanks... reading to catch up.
stevenaia Michinaga: maybe not always
Korel Laloix: I hardly ever remember my dreams.
--BELL--
Korel Laloix: And when I do they are very not good.
stevenaia Michinaga: neither do I , unless I tell someone in the morning or write them down
stevenaia Michinaga: right away
Paradise Tennant: they are like thin bits of mist that evaporate...
stevenaia Michinaga: wonder if the Dali Lama has a dream journal
Paradise Tennant: smiles
Paradise Tennant: would love to read it
Paradise Tennant: they say he has visited some of the Buddhist temples in sl and found it very cool
Korel Laloix: Don’t know much about him. But I do have a copy of the Bible Book of James with a forward by him.
Korel Laloix: Interesting read.

Paradise Tennant: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list...8B9A9048695BB2
Paradise Tennant: smiles I went to one of his teachings
Paradise Tennant: sat in a tent with many from the Tibetan community here
Paradise Tennant: was like a village fair and picnic everyone dressed super colourfully
Paradise Tennant: we drank butter tea and had bowls of really lovely rice

--BELL--
stevenaia Michinaga: Can you give us your impression of hearing him?
Paradise Tennant: I wish I could live every day in a heart centered way .. think and behave with my heart .. find our western lifestyle has really gotten away from that we are living in abstract linear abstracts
Paradise Tennant: yes!
Paradise Tennant: most impressive part of it was how joyful his community was to have him here
stevenaia Michinaga: nods, living with lack of joy sounds very western
Paradise Tennant: for everyone it was just like the best Christmas . everyone brought food and they served food .. it was like riding the crest of a nonstop smile
stevenaia Michinaga: few give themselves the opportunity
stevenaia Michinaga: wonders why
Paradise Tennant: he has that lovely gravel voice .. that just rings true and reverberates inside you
Paradise Tennant: it felt precious
Paradise Tennant: just to be there
Paradise Tennant: share in that moment
Paradise Tennant: walked away feeling lighter :)
stevenaia Michinaga: :)
Paradise Tennant: butter tea however is definitely an acquired taste
Korel Laloix: Very politely said.
stevenaia Michinaga: isn’t it made from spoiled butter
stevenaia Michinaga: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Butter_tea
Korel Laloix: Not spoiled, clarified yak butter.
Korel Laloix: With some salt, spices and of course tea.
Korel Laloix: Home make is much more tolerable then anything you can get in a restraint.
Paradise Tennant: smiles
Korel Laloix: And for me, I have to take like seventeen doses of lactaid to just look at it.
Paradise Tennant: lol
Paradise Tennant: have not come across it very often :)
stevenaia Michinaga: tea and butter, what's not to like?
Paradise Tennant: love finding something I have never tried :)) think we all need a new thing everyday keeps life fresh
Korel Laloix: Sometimes though, new things are really not worth the shock.
Paradise Tennant: yes nods ... there are unpleasant new things out there
Paradise Tennant: often though try to thing of the whole one taste idea when I have to deal with what I don't like
Korel Laloix: Just be careful what you ask for.
Paradise Tennant: *think
--BELL--

Fox Monacular: I fact I haven't slept much either - too busy!
stevenaia Michinaga: that can be good for dream research
Korel Laloix: Sad how that works.
stevenaia Michinaga: too tired to dream
Fox Monacular: I spend my days studying dreams so, I guess, it's ok not to dream...
Fox Monacular: yes, exactly
Fox Monacular: exactly
Fox Monacular: I've had quite a roller coaster-like 2 months, teaching a class on sleep and supervising students - it was quite a wonderful experience!
Fox Monacular: but comes at the expense of own sleep:)))

Santoshima Resident: letting go of what?
Fox Monacular: interesting perspective, steve
Fox Monacular: like clinging or holding onto something?
--BELL--
stevenaia Michinaga: well they seem to be what the brain needs to hold on to, images of the past, revisited in a new ay, wonders if it's way of slowing us down, in a good or bad way from moving ahead
stevenaia Michinaga: *brain
stevenaia Michinaga: for instance, I was dreaming of my broken glasses recently (in a new way) I had broken them months ago and have since replaced them
Fox Monacular: were these old glasses in some way significant?
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, I loved them and couldn’t replace them in the same color, just the same shape (they were plaid, now they are black
Paradise Tennant: plaid glasses do have a kind of cheery jauntiness to them . :))
Fox Monacular: part of your image of long time
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, the reactions of people staring into my eyes (as always amusing
stevenaia Michinaga: well into my glasses anyway
Fox Monacular: funny how glasses change appearance:)
Fox Monacular: I started wearing glasses a couple of months ago, it's quite a change
Korel Laloix: Been in glasses all of my life that I can remember.
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, when I had the option of considering contacts I thought, do I want to put my finger in my eye every morning
