Pema Pera: Hi Muck!
Muck Miami: hi Kira
Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Pema and Muck
Pema Pera: Hi Gaya
Muck Miami: Hi Gaya
Pema Pera: good to see you again!
Pema Pera: Muck, have you been here before?
Gaya Ethaniel smiles.
Muck Miami: No firt time here
Pema Pera: Welcome!
Pema Pera: we get together a few times a day to chat about the nature
of reality, and everything else, and we have a wiki
http://playasbeing.wik.is/ -- We record our conversations there. Do you
mind being included in our blogs?
Muck Miami: oh, im sorry i dont have time for that , i was just looking around.
Pema Pera: oh, you don't have to do anything :-)
Muck Miami: so i let u guys do your thing , i wil
Muck Miami: will go
Pema Pera: whatever you like, Muck :)
Gaya Ethaniel: Have a good day then Muck.
Muck Miami: oooh well.. i will stay for a wile oke..
Pema Pera: yes, please do
Gaya Ethaniel: ok :)
Pema Pera: we just chat about whatever we like
Pema Pera: and the nature of reality is just one of the topics we like to chat about
---
Pema Pera: How have you been, Gaya?
Muck Miami: oke
Gaya Ethaniel: Very well Pema thank you, yourself?
Pema Pera: oh, fine just a bit sleepy . . .
Pema Pera: but that's okay
Gaya Ethaniel smiles.
Pema Pera: did you see Storm's latest script here, the new clock?
Gaya Ethaniel: Yes, just noticed the beautiful mists over the fountain :)
Pema Pera: probably didn't rezz completely yet when you walked in
Pema Pera: yes, indeed
Pema Pera: Muck, we try to spend a few hours each day, in Real Life, in
the following way: we like to take 9 seconds every 15 minutes, roughly,
to stop what we are doing
Pema Pera: and then here in Second Life we talk about how that changes our way of looking at things, all those little breaks
Pema Pera: but recently we started to also stop in Second Life, but a bit longer: 90 seconds, every fifteen minutes
Pema Pera: and the clock in the fountain will remind us of that
Pema Pera: you will see in a few minutes
Gaya Ethaniel: I actually wanted to ask about your practice Pema.
Muck Miami: aha.
Pema Pera: yes, please Gaya!
Gaya Ethaniel: Do you do 9 secs throughout the day if you can?
Gaya Ethaniel: Or just during the day?
Pema Pera: oh yes, whenever I am awake
Pema Pera: but not strictly at the 15 minutes mark, more like a few times an hour
Gaya Ethaniel: Do you do any other practices in addtion to that?
Pema Pera: yes, and it depends on how much time I have for those, how much I do
Pema Pera: how about you?
Gaya Ethaniel: As I briefly mentioned in my email to you, I am having to change my routines.
Pema Pera: yes?
Gaya Ethaniel: Which is new so wanted to see if that's the caes for you...
Gaya Ethaniel: Think it's the change of season
Pema Pera: in what way?
Gaya Ethaniel: When I do 9 secs regularly during the day, I don't want
to do regular long sittings with the Spring coming. It feels too
'calming'...
Pema Pera: ah, I see
Gaya Ethaniel: Something I've noticed... not sure where I am going with it :)
Pema Pera: perhaps you can try with different aspects of your practice
Pema Pera: from sitting to standing to chanting to perhaps yoga or tai chi or . . .
Pema Pera: Hi Korii!
Korii Tiger: hi
Muck Miami: Hi Korii
Korii Tiger: howedy
Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Korii
Korii Tiger: hello
Gaya Ethaniel: yes... in fact, I sing or play music or exercise more...
Gaya Ethaniel: Do you change your routine by the season as well then?
Pema Pera: oh, I have little routine, my life is different on all time
scales like the weather -- depening on projects and travel
Gaya Ethaniel smiles.
Gaya Ethaniel: mm... that sounds tough to me not having any routines.
Pema Pera: I'm used to it -- nomadic existence in some sense
Gaya Ethaniel: Though... 9 secs provide you a sort of routine?
Pema Pera: yes, indeed Gaya
Pema Pera: a type of continuity for sure
Gaya Ethaniel nods.
---
Gaya Ethaniel: Everyone wants to sit on your laps it seems Pema :)
Pema Pera: :-) I am always very quiet when a Tiger sits on my lap
Gaya Ethaniel: Or you are a feline magnet :P
Pema Pera: fortunately I grew up with cats
Muck Miami: haha
Pema Pera: though they were mostly a wee bit smaller
Gaya Ethaniel smiles.
Pema Pera: any chance you might come to the August PaB retreat, Gaya?
Gaya Ethaniel: ah... wish I could but not this year, perhaps next.
Muck Miami: sorry to interupt but i must go.
Muck Miami: bye
Gaya Ethaniel: Nice to meet you, have a good day Muck.
Pema Pera: bye Muck!
Pema Pera: it now seems we will have a four night event, near San Francisco
Gaya Ethaniel: ah... a little shorter than planned then
Pema Pera: yes, we couldn't get the longer time, or at least it now seems that way
Pema Pera: which is fine
Pema Pera: given that not everybody is used to longer retreats
Gaya Ethaniel: ok
Gaya Ethaniel: Do you go on retreats then Pema?
Pema Pera: when I have time and when something interesting comes along, yes
Gaya Ethaniel: ah :)
Pema Pera: So in the PaB retreat we probably will have the following kind of rough schedule
Pema Pera: afternoon arrival and welcome
Pema Pera: then an easing in day
Pema Pera: then a very serious day with the possibility of really round the clock practice
Pema Pera: then an easing out day for wrapping up
Pema Pera: then a last saying goodbye morning
Pema Pera: something like that
Gaya Ethaniel: ah... ok
Gaya Ethaniel: So really one full day of practice then
Pema Pera: well, with the "play" in Play as Being you can also view
every day as a kind of practice, so that would give five days of
practice :-)
Pema Pera: but as for the really intensive practice, yes
Pema Pera: as the somewhat less intensive, more playful practice perhaps 1/2 + 3 + 1/2, say four in total
Gaya Ethaniel nods.
Gaya Ethaniel: I hope all goes well :)
Pema Pera: I think it will :-)
Gaya Ethaniel smiles.
---
Pema Pera: Hi Stargate!
Pema Pera: have you seen our new 90-seconds bell?
Pema Pera: it will go off soon
Pema Pera: and the water will grow mysty during that time :)
Gaya Ethaniel: I think this is a nice feature to have even permanently.
Pema Pera: yes, if enough people like it
Pema Pera: it gives a different flavor to conversations
Pema Pera: especially the more heated types :)
Gaya Ethaniel smiles.
Pema Pera: Hi Gybele!
Pema Pera: but I think I should go get some more sleep now . . .
Gybele Silvera: Hi Pema
Gaya Ethaniel: Yes unfortunately I must go as well.
Pema Pera: I only slept three hours after another long session with Threedee et al yesterday evening
Gaya Ethaniel: oh...
Pema Pera: and I'll have to get up in two hours again
Pema Pera: but it's nice seeing you all again!
Gaya Ethaniel: Good rest then Pema until the next session. Ganbare!
Pema Pera: ganbarimasu :)
Gybele Silvera: Namaste
Gaya Ethaniel smiles.
Pema Pera: how do you say that in Korean?
Gaya Ethaniel: fighting... heheheh
Pema Pera hates to disturbe tigers . . .
Gaya Ethaniel: in Korean pronunciation
Pema Pera: in English?
Pema Pera: aha!
Pema Pera: yes in Japanese too: faito faito !!
Gaya Ethaniel: yes similar :)
Korii Tiger: :\
Pema Pera: perhaps I will quietly poof . . .
Pema Pera: see you all soon again!
Gaya Ethaniel: Bye Pema :)
Pema Pera: bye Gybele, Gaya, Korii!
Gaya Ethaniel: Have a good day Korri and Gybele
Korii Tiger: goodnightr Pema..
Gaya Ethaniel: mm... now I forgot how the autologger works if the guardian has to go in the middle...
Korii Tiger: it will turn off by itself once every one leaves
Gaya Ethaniel: I claimed it so should get the link by email do you know Korii?
Gaya Ethaniel: Let me check that in my Inbox before I leave...
Gybele Silvera: that much I am aware that it is enough that you claim it
Gaya Ethaniel: ah ok thanks very much
Gaya Ethaniel: Enjoy your day :)
