My very first session as a Play as Being Guardian, on my 2nd month anniversary in Second Life!

Fael was captivated by a book this morning.

Fael Illyar: "This generation, that now lives on earth, will see my return. It will not happen as you think and many will not recognise me. but listen to my speech and you'll understand who I am. That I will journey among you again means that the time for end times has began. Now is the time to sort weeds from plants. Know this and reform." My free translation from this book I have here in Finnish.

At this point, our new visitor hurried away. :) We began to discuss the book, and "end times" visions a bit...

Fael Illyar: As far as I know, it only exists in Swedish and Finnish so far.
Eliza Madrigal: Hmm, and what is the origin?
Fael Illyar: I'd translate the title but it seems I'm lacking vocabulary :)
Eliza Madrigal: Missing spoons, as Ade would say? :)
Fael Illyar: would be "New Sermon on the Mount" I guess.

Susi Alcott: but in Finland it's given only to few preasts and the most high beshop

Pema Pera: Is this a Christian pamphlet, Susi?
Susi Alcott: it begins with the stories how this book was 'born'
Susi Alcott: but the text starts about so, that 'remember that I didn't write the bible, but now that is me who's speaking'
Susi Alcott: and those words are channeld by the lady in Sweden; from Jesus Christ
Fael Illyar: Pema, I'm a bit torn on whether to call it Christian pamphlet. Depends on whether you take Christian to mean from the church or if from Jesus.
Eliza Madrigal: I feel that it is nearly impossible to "hear" Jesus without some background in eastern thought...always talking about consciousness..and "end times" can be such a trap
Susi Alcott: but...cuz Fael has the book now and his english is better than mine....she can answer more spsific...
Pema Pera: over the course of history there have been rather many small groups that have proclaimed that "the end is near" and that they had direct contact with Jesus . . . .
Fael Illyar: hey, I've only read 30 pages so far.
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Fael Illyar: felt conflicted to put the book down to come here even... Didn't know why I was putting it down since I wanted to keep reading.
Susi Alcott: maybe you was ment to bring this topic here today ...
Eliza Madrigal: It is a kind of modern prophesy? Or a Bible translation?
Fael Illyar: no translation.
Susi Alcott: (the translation to finnish is my made, but with the help at first from the lady who's swedish is perfect )
Susi Alcott: not the translation of the bible
Susi Alcott: as I said; them---at least quite first words were; "remember that I didn't write the bible; now that is me who speaks"
Eliza Madrigal: Ah
Susi Alcott: and that book has given 'points' to hundreds of people in both lands, and connectes so called spriitualist people to be more wtihin love and understanding

Here, my mind wandered. When Susi used the word 'points' I thought of points of light, then interconnection, resonating ideas, and "Indra's Net" though now re-reading it did not directly connect to the topic.  :) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indra's_net  

Susi Alcott: and many people in Finland has told, that this book has given answers to there questions...even to such that they have had halfly...or rose up on the day...
Fael Illyar has spent most of today asleep awake.
Fael Illyar: until I felt like picking up this book finally.
Susi Alcott: when I got the script on my hands, I thought to read few pages to get to know what Tuula gave me ...
Susi Alcott: I couldn't but start from the first word and continue to it's end...
Susi Alcott: ...the rest one can read from that book...
Fael Illyar: I think this needs English translation. Is there one?
Susi Alcott: not that I'de know; there was the try....but I have not heared that it would've been done
Eliza Madrigal: Is this a general call for love? Or a person saying "Follow me?"
Susi Alcott: not to say; follow me
Fael Illyar: call for love and to follow your own inner feelings.
Susi Alcott: prefere the call to love

Susi Alcott: and yes; there is some try to help people to think that how shall 'he' return...

Eliza Madrigal: I was thinking about how much can happen in a blink....which I suppose has a loose tie with "end times" :)

Fael had mentioned ideas of half-waking, which for me jumped to concepts of enlightenment and the idea that no one gets "there" alone....

Fael Illyar: in SL, things truly happen fast.
Eliza Madrigal: And feel as though it has been ages

Fael Illyar: I've been here for a bit over a year and it already feels like a few lifetimes :)

Pema Pera: daily meetings are impossible in RL, unless you live in the same place almost

Pema Pera: Eliza, can you remind me, did you have a particular goal when you came to SL?
Eliza Madrigal: Not at all. I have been in a transition phase in life...so was looking for a diversion :)
Eliza Madrigal: I became curious about SL during the election
Eliza Madrigal: People would mention rallys and such taking place...
Eliza Madrigal: And I have a dd who used a version of SL in Geography class
Pema Pera: a dd?
Eliza Madrigal: So, I bought a new computer to see :) I can never keep my hands out of cookie jars

Fael Illyar amused at how the conversation turned.

The conversation had turned. We were at the end of ends, but were still talking about webs and nets to an extent...networks more specifically, and the new structure of communication and learning. 

Pema Pera: twitter has one advantage that it is a kind of semantic web through people power
Fael Illyar: but ... this book talks of a new world order and it's been written in 1994. I can clearly see signs of that happening today.
Eliza Madrigal: This is what I like about our era...My dd, with her relevant ideas, can be heard
Pema Pera: yes, definitely, Eliza!
Pema Pera: like wikipedia
Eliza Madrigal: Yes
Eliza Madrigal: Fael, people have always seen signs. I like the Gospel of Thomas which says "The kingdom of God is spread upon the earth and men do not see it>"
Eliza Madrigal: We're always looking here and there
Eliza Madrigal: And I worry that we look to end times, and forget to live
Fael Illyar: Eliza, I'm talking of concrete changes happening that will completely change the way our society works :)
Fael Illyar: wikipedia is an excellent example.
Pema Pera: and a very surprising one
Pema Pera: I don't think anybody could have predicted its success

Fael Illyar: Pema, it's founders certainly did see promise for it.
Pema Pera: yes, but I bet the founders were surprised by its success
Eliza Madrigal: I love that...someone steps out with an "idealistic" sort of vision, and it actually takes! :)
Susi Alcott: may I tell one story of such phenomenas that I think that Fael is speaking about...in Finland...
Fael Illyar: perhaps the speed with which it happened, not that it happened
Susi Alcott: ?
Fael Illyar: Sure, go ahead.
Susi Alcott: there was this insurence company that told that they shall put many people away
Susi Alcott: but then one big customer said, that in case they do so, they shall chooce an other insurence company, and they also gave the 'dead line' for this company to cancel there decition
Susi Alcott: so; this company canceled that , but not early enough
Susi Alcott: so they lost the big customer, but they did learn
Susi Alcott: end of the story
Fael Illyar: in short, hierarchies are losing their underpinnings.
Eliza Madrigal: Hm
Fael Illyar: the artificial hierarchies that is
Fael Illyar: those that are enforced by rules.
Susi Alcott: wouldnt' that mean also the changes in socity ?
Fael Illyar: That's a natural consequence of people being able to contact each other very easily, no matter where they are.
Susi Alcott: ...love...instead of hard business
Fael Illyar: Yes, and the people at the top of the current hierarchies are of course fighting back :)
Susi Alcott: careing more of people than money mountains
Fael Illyar: I'm finding it amusing that this text pointed out that the chages will begin from Sweden, followed closely by other nordic countries. Compared with that that's how the pirate parties are gaining strength around the world.

Eliza Madrigal: It is odd to think about "no rules" . It seems like it would be a "good thing", but not so sure. And people have a way of making "no rules" into a rule

Fael Illyar: in short, freedom of speech.

Ahhh, the tactile. Though conversing and contemplating are wonderful, TOUCHING the earth (even with skates and wheels) is not easily matched!

Pema Pera: it was well over 50 degrees, or 10 Celsius
Pema Pera: yet the ice was firm, they must have a good refrigerator
Susi Alcott: in Finland there's not been so much possibilities to indoor skating but lately
Pema Pera: it was the first time in twenty years that I tried skating :-)

Pema Pera: that's nice; it used to be the case in Holland
Adams Rubble: I had a similar experience taking up bicycling after 30 years
Susi Alcott: but here in southern where my body lives, has been such wintrers that it has not always happen
Pema Pera: we would skate from one village to another, have a cup of coffee, and return, much more fun that going in circles on a skating rink
Adams Rubble: There are all those wonderful skating pictures in Dutch and Flemish apinting

Adams Rubble: It was a leap of faith because I had to but a bicycle before rtying again

Eliza Madrigal: Someone told me that rollerblading would be easy if I could iceskate...did *not* find that.
