I had hopped in for a visit and found Bertrum Quan sitting alone. As there was no Guardian present I ended up staying for the full session which is recorded below. Some of you may not know Bertrum he tends to come to 1:00am sessions, and has been showing up more lately. Tarmel

    Bertrum Quan: Hello Tarmel
    Tarmel Udimo: Hi Bertrum
    Tarmel Udimo: all alone?
    Bertrum Quan: Yes.
Tarmel Udimo: wanders where the Guardian is tonight?
Bertrum Quan: Don't know the answer to that...
Tarmel Udimo: no it was more retorical:-)
Tarmel Udimo: how are you today/tonight?
Bertrum Quan: It's a quiet night.
    Tarmel Udimo: yes
Bertrum Quan: Do you have a topic you'd like to discuss?
Tarmel Udimo: no I think its your turn:-)
    Bertrum Quan: Okay.
Tarmel Udimo: you were floating Betrum:-)
Bertrum Quan: Yes. How does that happen?
Tarmel Udimo: don't know SL wierdness
    Bertrum Quan: Indeed.
Bertrum Quan: How about the topic of inner peace?
    Tarmel Udimo: okay
Tarmel Udimo: what are your thoughts?
Bertrum Quan: the sense of the noise and conflict all around us every day... and yet there can exist a state of inner peace... peace of mind.
Bertrum Quan: Do you find your meditation can center you in that way?
Tarmel Udimo: yes I find PaB has also helped to center me in that way
Tarmel Udimo: there is a small quiet center that I try to keep alive and manage to sometimes
Tarmel Udimo: well I think I do:-)
Bertrum Quan: And how does PaB help center you? Is it the 9-second meditation exercise? Or something else?
Tarmel Udimo: Well the 9-sec kick started it
Tarmel Udimo: and then I have been going to a healer who has been working on my body - ie massages and he has also helped me to reconnect and to start doing meditation on a regular basis again
Tarmel Udimo: I was in quite a state when I went to him first, not only was I suffering from cronic low grade pain in my neck but also a low grade spiritual crisis that had in fact been triggred by the exercises we had been doing in pheono
Tarmel Udimo: and anyway the long and short of it was he said go back to meditation, it will ground you
Tarmel Udimo: which I did and it has helped
Bertrum Quan: Are these longer meditation sessions?
Tarmel Udimo: no not at all they are short ones - once in the am and once before i go to bed
Tarmel Udimo: they are not aligned with any method I just sit and open up my intention to connect to Being
Bertrum Quan: How did the pheono exercises trigger a crisis?
Tarmel Udimo: i was already heading that way, always asking why.... I can get a bit manic around why Being is Being???? For which there is no answer of course, except perhaps that Being can and enjoys the play of it all
Tarmel Udimo: and some of the exercises kept taking me to a place where I only saw the emptiness, the meaninglessness of it all
Tarmel Udimo: not a good seeing:-)
Bertrum Quan: That's very powerful to feel... see...
Tarmel Udimo: and what about you Bertrum, do you meditate? have you found inner peace?
Tarmel Udimo: yes it is powerful and one needs back up:-)
Bertrum Quan: In answer to your questions: yes to the first part and I'm working on the second part.
    Tarmel Udimo: okay
Tarmel Udimo: and what kind of meditation do you do?
Bertrum Quan: Zen-like but not Zen insofar as I do not sit in the formal way.
    Tarmel Udimo: nods
Bertrum Quan: The 9-second exercise was interesting to try but I do not have discipline for it....
Tarmel Udimo: not sure how much discipline you need... how are you doing the 9-secs?
Bertrum Quan: First of all, one has to be organized enough to do it on a regular basis...
Bertrum Quan: Second, given one's other responsibilities in RL, I don't feel I successfully mentally multi-task--even for 9-sec when I am otherwise intellectually engaged.
Bertrum Quan: One has to be very disciplined mentally to accomplish it... or at least more disciplined than I am.
Bertrum Quan: I certainly like the notion of the small "tax" but employing it is another matter.
Tarmel Udimo: perhaps its a mater of intergrating it into moments rather than seeing it in such a structured way.
Tarmel Udimo: there are always small moments when one stops whatever activity one is involved in
Tarmel Udimo: it is during those moments that I breathe deeply and stop for a few mili-seconds
Tarmel Udimo: that's all that is required to make the shift into Being
Tarmel Udimo: eventually one can carry that state with one on a regular basis, or try to at least
Bertrum Quan: But every morning and evening you do a longer meditation?
    Tarmel Udimo: no, 5-15mins
Tarmel Udimo: and often not sure what they are
Tarmel Udimo: i am realizing more and more that it is intention that is important
Tarmel Udimo: the intention to sit and doing it
Tarmel Udimo: of course there are some mornings I am running late and don't, there are some eveings I am buggered and don't but I ignore whether I have or not and just keep doing it
Tarmel Udimo: I think this principle can be used with the 9-secs as well:-)
Bertrum Quan: Yes, there are many paths.
Tarmel Udimo: yes I no longer even try to be on a path and just do:-)
Tarmel Udimo: Sorry have to leave Bertrum, hopefully I didn't talk too much, I've claimed the log and will put it up.....
    Bertrum Quan: Take care, Tarmel.
Tarmel Udimo: you too, see you next time
