Eleven guardians attended today's weekly session : Agatha Macbeth : Calvino Rabeni : Eden Haiku : Eliza Madrigal (who now posts this log) : Eos Amaterasu : Lucinda Lavender : Riddle Sideways : Widget Whiteberry : Yakuzza Lethecus : Zen Arado : doug Sosa.

The discussion began with the idea of "Drop Day" inspired by Eden's Saturdays observing the 9 second PaB pauses, and sharing haikus of what she noticed in that space. It then moved on to noticing time itself, and time beings, then memories that seemed hm, full of a kind of endless time.

:) By the end I think we decided on a collective 'Drop Day' exploration:

    Eos Amaterasu: So next Saturday?
Eos Amaterasu: and an hour before next guardian mtg?

    So let's begin...

    Agatha Macbeth smiles
Agatha Macbeth: And hello Edie and Liz :))
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Everyone!
Eos Amaterasu: Hi Edie and Elie
    doug Sosa: :)
    Lucinda Lavender: Hi Eliza, Eden...
    Eden Haiku: Good morning!
    Lucinda Lavender: Eos...

Eliza Madrigal: Nice to see you all this morning... just reading the email re 'drop day' :) Nice idea!
Eos Amaterasu: Eden did this last Saturday, with a haiku report after each 15 mins: http://bit.ly/9fBpGw
Eos Amaterasu finally sees doug's pants rez
    Agatha Macbeth: :)
Eliza Madrigal: What is nice, is that it seems focusing like this didn't 'slow down' the productivity of your day at all Eden... was/is really fun to read :)
    Riddle Sideways: ah, about bells
Agatha Macbeth: Doug and Riddle both still grey for me
Eden Haiku: Yes, the rest is still gray as well as for Riddle...
doug Sosa: its that grey underwear.
Riddle Sideways: hmmm, I see me rezed
    Agatha Macbeth grins
Eden Haiku: Well, it did slowed me down a lot Eliza, in fact. Yesterday, I did it again but without notes all the time.
Eliza Madrigal: Doug is all gray but with blue jeans for me, but Riddle is hm patchily rezzed. Eos has salt and pepper hair
Eos Amaterasu: Got your tweet, Eden, and joined in....
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, what was the difference Eden?
    Agatha Macbeth: Tweet tweet
Eden Haiku: Oh, and did you write some haikus Eos?
    Eliza Madrigal: Hey, Zen :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Hi Zen :)
    Riddle Sideways: hi zen
    Zen Arado: Hi all
    doug Sosa: :)
Eden Haiku: The difference, is that I don't remember much Eliza :)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)))
    Lucinda Lavender: Interesting...
    Agatha Macbeth smiles
Eos Amaterasu: no haiku from me....

Eden Haiku: I got so used to the timer sound (I changed it to science-fiction instead of sonar) that I would not notice it and let it play. But my cat did!
Agatha Macbeth will be right back.
Eden Haiku: She had a nice "dropping out of sleep day :)
Eliza Madrigal: Maybe the sound affects the cat who affects eden....
Eos Amaterasu wonders if the cat was doing PaB
Eliza Madrigal: and twittering with Bella in the pub
    Eden Haiku: :)))

Eliza Madrigal: It seems something interesting to notice, whether setting the bells affects one's sense of how time passes/productivity, etc.
Lucinda Lavender: I am thinking that each haiku reflects the beauty of the being experience.

Eden Haiku: I noticed the pull of action was very strong...
Agatha Macbeth returns to the fold
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, Lucinda, yes :)
    Eliza Madrigal: pull of action?
Eos Amaterasu: Yes, the ongoing rush of karmic actions roars through
Eden Haiku: The impulse to keep doing what I am doing when the timer goes on?
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Widget :))
    Widget Whiteberry: good morning
    Eliza Madrigal: Ahh, I see
    Zen Arado: Hi Widget
    Eos Amaterasu: Hi Widg
    Agatha Macbeth: Hello Widget
Eliza Madrigal: (Let me give you a notecard Widget- one sec)

    Sharing tech recipes ...

Eden Haiku: Especially when focusing on writing as I was yesterday...
Eos Amaterasu: Ideally what you are already doing is the timer
Eos Amaterasu: then you're not in a separate time
Riddle Sideways: seeming to have lost my 15 min gong.
Riddle Sideways: I set email to 15 min interval
Eden Haiku: I did not find a way to do yet that it seems...
Riddle Sideways: changed email alert to "heaven"
Zen Arado: I can't get it to work on Iphone
Eden Haiku: heaven! That's nice Riddle!
    Eliza Madrigal: :))
Zen Arado: only has repeat alarm for days
Riddle Sideways: Droid works nice that way
Zen Arado: there is a nice harp sound
Calvino Rabeni: There's a nice app called Zen TImer also on Android, which I have started using
Zen Arado: ah maybe I need an app then

Eden Haiku: Would others like to join the experiment on Saturdays?
Eden Haiku: Even though we are supposed to do it all the time...
Zen Arado: if I can make timer work
Calvino Rabeni: I think a sports watch can do the same, but less melodiously
Eden Haiku: You still have youtr Ipod Zen?
Eliza Madrigal: It would be fun to have a particular day to compare notes from... like to observe our observing the pauses... Sure, Eden
Zen Arado: do you use timer and reset it every 15 mins Eden?
    Zen Arado: yes Eden
Eden Haiku: Yes, same day and ideally stopping at the same times but that is very difficult...
    Zen Arado: ah
Eden Haiku: Yes, I have to that is the problem.
Zen Arado: I thought you could set it just to ring every 15 mins

Eliza Madrigal: Thinking that your noticing that 'pull' is something quite helpful... seems something we might notice in sessions, too?
Eden Haiku: With iPod, in the clock, there is a timer. Last one to the right.
Eden Haiku: Yes Eliza, hence all my typos...
    Eliza Madrigal smiles
    Agatha Macbeth: :P
Zen Arado: nuisance if you have to keep rettetting...
    Zen Arado: resetting :)
Agatha Macbeth wonders how you retet
Zen Arado: was waiting fot it Aga :)
Eos Amaterasu: So Saturday, and then that report, in whatever form
    Agatha Macbeth grinz
    Zen Arado: :)

Eliza Madrigal: You know, and it might not be just "Saturday', but every person could pick one day to notice... For me I like to set the computer timer which often works better on a Friday
Eliza Madrigal: and would also overlap with my pab session
Eden Haiku: Yes, yesterday I have notes from 8.11, 10.19, 10. 34, 11,24 and so on...:)
Eos Amaterasu: When you first set time, set it to ding on a :00, :15, :30, or :45 time
Lucinda Lavender: Wondering if the pull to action comes from having stopped action for a time...
Eos Amaterasu: and next time every 15 minutes
Calvino Rabeni: I've noticed the noticing of this type of "wakeup" signal in past experiments.
Calvino Rabeni: Hopefully, your mileage will vary :)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eden Haiku: Yes, any day would be nice. ELiza. The experiment would take place on a different day for each person.
Zen Arado: you have to write something?
Eliza Madrigal: After reading your haikus Eden, I began to associate the pauses with cleaning... with clearing windows and fresh scents :)
Eden Haiku: Not necessary. Just enough to remember the whole experiment Zen.
Eos Amaterasu: Taking little notes after a sortie into the gap can help, as in recording dreams
Riddle Sideways: if you could please take haikus for me while my sleep periods
Eden Haiku: Yes, that was exhilarating Eliza. Yesterday, I had more intellectual tasks and I felt much more annoyed by the interruptions!
Eos Amaterasu: "into the gap of nine seconds, rode the nine guardians"
    Riddle Sideways: :)
Eos Amaterasu: Yes, the ding can feel annoying :-) !!!
Eliza Madrigal: stop ---> notice ---> clean ---> flowers ---> share... this giving back process was nice of you to let us in on...
    Agatha Macbeth: Gimme dat ding

Lucinda Lavender: I am thinking that it would certainly give a sense of what is coming in to being for each...

Eos Amaterasu: "I'm in the middle of something!"

Eos Amaterasu: yes, the recording, or haiku, or notes, can be a kind of offering

Eden Haiku: I noticed I grasped much more my computer than the brush!
Eliza Madrigal: Hmmm... bet that's a common experience at work
Agatha Macbeth: The brush doesn't crash tho ;-)
Riddle Sideways: annoying to be alerted that you are not doing more important things
Zen Arado: just bought a Timer app for iphone
    Eliza Madrigal: heheheh Riddle
Eden Haiku: That is a good point about the brush Agatha!
    Eos Amaterasu: which one, Zen?
    Agatha Macbeth: :p
    Zen Arado: it's a
    Zen Arado: called 'Timer App
    Eos Amaterasu: :-)
    Zen Arado: will try it
Lucinda Lavender: I would think it interesting done on one day together ...also tho it would be interesting to see what comes at certain times of day for perhaps teams of people
Eos Amaterasu: Maybe one hour before guardian meeting
    Lucinda Lavender: :)
Eliza Madrigal: Thanks Zen, let us know :)
Riddle Sideways: ah I feel a sci study coming

    A wake for time?

doug Sosa: for a group that doesn't believe time exists.. is this a wake for time?
Riddle Sideways: the mapping of Being waves
Eden Haiku: Yes, Eos, maybe start with a small chunk like that would be good.
Eliza Madrigal: the pauses in the middle of what we're in the middle of, maybe becomes more natural as the day goes on... then one might dip into them in sleep too... carry to next day. I remember that happening when I first heard the idea and began to work with it

    Lucinda Lavender: hmmm
    Zen Arado: being and time
    Zen Arado: timing being
Riddle Sideways: yes for the time Being
    Zen Arado: untimely being
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Zen Arado: :)
Eliza Madrigal: "At this time what am I being?"
Eden Haiku: In sleep Eliza? Wow!
Eden Haiku: For the time Being...;))))
Eliza Madrigal nods.... I hadn't thought about that for a while, but this conversation brought it up

Lucinda Lavender: I guess my previous experience with logging dreams by the position of the moon is influencing my picture here...
Zen Arado: 'Had we but world enough and time'
    Eden Haiku: Say more Lucinda?
Lucinda Lavender: we would look for patterns there...
    Eliza Madrigal listens
    Zen Arado: listens
Eos Amaterasu: New moon coming up
    Zen Arado: arising
Eliza Madrigal: New moon, you saw me standing alone... Oh, wait, wrong song :) (er, rather wrong moon)

    Zen Arado: changes into werewolf..
    Agatha Macbeth: Bad moon rising
    Eliza Madrigal giggles
Lucinda Lavender: I have written the dreams but also included the the position of the moon astrologically...tho I am not an astrologer...:)
Eden Haiku: Blue moon, one in a blue moon...
Eliza Madrigal: I supose we can/should use whatever inspires :)
Lucinda Lavender: The moon being an influence upon the tides of the body

Widget Whiteberry: wait! we don't believe time 'exists'?

Calvino Rabeni: Who can say that, honestly?
Eden Haiku: What do you mean by "time" Widget?
Zen Arado: it exists if we think it does
    Eden Haiku: ;)))
Lucinda Lavender: a tool taught to me...
Eos Amaterasu: I think, there I have time
    Eos Amaterasu: *therefore
Eden Haiku: Oh look, there, there is a bunch of time!
Widget Whiteberry: my body experiences time even when my mind ignores or forgets it
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Zen Arado: some know the time without a watch
    Eos Amaterasu: "time to eat"
Zen Arado: I can do that a little
Calvino Rabeni: Lucinda's experiment is interesting because it looks at the long slow markers of time that maybe shared by many people, but are not personal

Eos Amaterasu: Can you say more, Lucinda?
Lucinda Lavender: The possibilities of dreaming/awareness in a synchronous manor seem the pointer

Zen Arado: I can usually wake up at a certain time
    Zen Arado: anyone else?

Lucinda shares ways of seeing, and Eden shares personally 'about time'...

Eden Haiku: About time: 2 years ago, on this very day my mother passed away.
    Eliza Madrigal nods @ Zen
    Riddle Sideways: yes, zen
Lucinda Lavender: We may be working on threads that we enter but not simaltaneously...
    Agatha Macbeth: Aww :(
    Eliza Madrigal: (((Eden))))))
    Riddle Sideways: eden
    Eos Amaterasu: (((Eden)))
Eden Haiku: My Dad and I are going to the cemetary this afternoon, bringing lilacs from her garden ;)
    Zen Arado: sad anniversary
Lucinda Lavender: we may be a bit apart but working on similar awarenesses...
Eliza Madrigal: Thank you for sharing that Eden, honoring the time
    Agatha Macbeth nods
Eden Haiku: I remember a conversation I had with her about time, years ago...
Eliza Madrigal: or rather using the time to honor the relationships
Calvino Rabeni: Honoring a year, is important
    Eliza Madrigal listens
Lucinda Lavender: The lilacs seem such a marker
Eden Haiku: I was a bit confused at that time. We were talking on the phone and I was telling her that I was remembering she was talking to me when I was in her womb.
    Eliza Madrigal: !
Eden Haiku: (I had taken LSD, I was in my twenties...) I was worried I was becoming psychotic or something...
    Eliza Madrigal: ah
Eden Haiku: And she said, on the phone: "I was talking to you", with a smile in her voice, She was so comforting, reassuring.
    Eliza Madrigal smiles
    Riddle Sideways: (((Eden)))
Eliza Madrigal has a wonderful mental snapshot of Eden's mother, smiling, saying to her 'un belle belle vie"
Eos Amaterasu: (talking to little Eden floating in the womb :-)
Eden Haiku: End of the story....TIme brought back this memory :)
    Agatha Macbeth hugs Edie
Eden Haiku: You know, it has been two years, and I still can't believe she's gone...

    Widget's experience of time...

Widget Whiteberry: I talked with my dad for 3 years after he died ... small conversations scattered through my days
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, that's lovely Widget
Eden Haiku: Oh Widget...tell us more?
    Widget Whiteberry: hmm
Widget Whiteberry: he had some kind of cognitive decline which both he and my mom
Widget Whiteberry: were in denial about
Widget Whiteberry: so he kind of drifted away from me
Widget Whiteberry: I thought he had grown disinterested in my life
    Eliza Madrigal: Oh :(
Widget Whiteberry: when I finally realized what was what
Widget Whiteberry: I had detached ... then more or less snapped back
    Eden Haiku: yes?
Widget Whiteberry: well, I understood and that reorganized my experiences of the past several years
    Widget Whiteberry: allowed me to
Widget Whiteberry: in the end, i was able to do what he needed from me,
Eden Haiku: a wonderful experience Widget,! Were you writing down the conversations?
Widget Whiteberry: then I had 3 years to feel it
Widget Whiteberry: Eden, at that point, the conversations were minimal
Widget Whiteberry: 3 years, btw, is a guess
Widget Whiteberry: this conversation - now - will set off another set
Widget Whiteberry: I could perhaps write poems, now
Eden Haiku: That would be lovely Widget!
    Eliza Madrigal: hmmm, nodding...
    Agatha Macbeth: Yes...
Eliza Madrigal: so maybe kinds of time... time spent in memory has a different feel... sometimes like filling in gaps... seeing there is life there still, to appreciate
    Eliza Madrigal: Thank you Widget
    Agatha Macbeth nods

Calvino Rabeni: In my experience we get time from connection with nature
Calvino Rabeni: with more awareness, more connection
    Eden Haiku: Yes?
Calvino Rabeni: Lately science is discovering a whole set of cellular clocks, that are synchronized with the lights of the world and perhaps other signals
Calvino Rabeni: But what we do with "mind" can also connect more
    Eliza Madrigal: hmm... intriguing Cal!
Calvino Rabeni: Seasonal rituals, for instance
    Zen Arado: brb
Lucinda Lavender: I was going to suggest the solstice for a haiku day...
Eden Haiku: Nice Lucinda. Is it the 20th or the 21st of June?
    Lucinda Lavender: 21,Monday
Calvino Rabeni: Japanese have the cherry blossom thing.
    Eos Amaterasu: Just happened
Calvino Rabeni: It is nice when the ritual, corresponds to some really observable production of the earth, its weather and herbs, etc.
    Eliza Madrigal nods
Eos Amaterasu: although we could have our own cherry blossom day here in the village
    Eden Haiku: ;)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)))
    Widget Whiteberry: with poetry
Lucinda Lavender: Lunar eclipse happens June 26 A Saturday...
Widget Whiteberry: in what part of the world, Lucinda?
Calvino Rabeni: Nature time, and deep time, is an antidote to the clock of the workplace and factory
Calvino Rabeni: Without it, I think we risk a lot
    Eliza Madrigal: "deep time", hmm
Eos Amaterasu: August 1-7 retreat will be deep in nature-time
Zen Arado: we force our schedules on nature
Lucinda Lavender: just a moment...I will see
Eliza Madrigal: Well, there is something though, about yes being attentive to nature 'as is' without tampering, and also seeing nature in everything... even the most structured productivity
Widget Whiteberry wonders how climate changes will impact the experience of 'nature time' and 'deep time' .... how much disruption we will experience

Zen's makes a timely joke about an odd moment ...

    Calvino Rabeni: Currency Converter? :)
Lucinda Lavender: June 25, Easter Europe,Most of Middle East, central Asia, Northern India, northwest China, Mongolia
    Widget Whiteberry notices the HUD
    Agatha Macbeth grins guiltily
    Widget Whiteberry: lol
    Eliza Madrigal: hahaha
    Eden Haiku: ;0
    Zen Arado: time is money

Agatha Macbeth whistles and tries to look innocent
    doug Sosa: time is heartbeats
    Eden Haiku: @Zen :)))
Agatha Macbeth: Time waits for no man
    Lucinda Lavender: :)
Calvino Rabeni: :))) It works, Agatha!
    Agatha Macbeth: (or woman)
Eden Haiku: Time is heartbeats, yes :)))
Zen Arado: parsley sage rosemary and...
    Agatha Macbeth groans
Eliza Madrigal: so natural pauses already present... appreciating those, and pauses we decide on that are not excluded from nature ... bells :))

Eos Amaterasu: me ringing being ringing

Riddle Sideways: and we force our schedules on ourselves
Agatha Macbeth: Beaten by the clock
    Eliza Madrigal: hehehe
    Eos Amaterasu: So next Saturday?
Eos Amaterasu: and an hour before next guardian mtg?
Eliza Madrigal: I need to get going. Thanks everyone, for a moving session!
Eliza Madrigal: That sounds great, Eos
    Agatha Macbeth: Kira time?
Eden Haiku: RL is calling/ Thanks for nice conversation/Yes for Saturdays!
Calvino Rabeni: Thanks all, GTG now also :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: bye eden
    Eos Amaterasu: Thank you all!
    Riddle Sideways: thanks all
Eliza Madrigal: yes :) If the session continues, a log would be much appreciated!
    Eliza Madrigal: Thank you all
    doug Sosa: (slips awa)
    Zen Arado: bye all
    Agatha Macbeth: Bye all
    Yakuzza Lethecus: bye everyone
    Lucinda Lavender: bye all!
