Eos Amaterasu: HI Bleu, Eliza, Calvino, yakuzza, Eden
Eliza Madrigal: Lovely to see everyone, wow :)
Eden Haiku: Bleu just came back from an exciting trip in New York with her Spirit of the Senses group.
    http://www.spiritofthesenses.org/
Bleu Oleander: have lots of photos ... lots of work to do!
Eden Haiku: What was the highlight of the whole trip?
Bleu Oleander: for me? it was the neuroscientist at NYU
    Eliza Madrigal: Oh?
Eos Amaterasu: they'll do it every time!
    Eliza Madrigal: hehe
Eden Haiku: Oh! Would you share the experience of meeting him (or her) ?
Bleu Oleander: he is chair of the dept of neuroscience and physiology at NYU
Bleu Oleander: quite a dynamic person
Bleu Oleander: and very giving of his time
Bleu Oleander: also the VP of the Amercian Museum of Natural History
Calvino Rabeni: What is his name, Bleu?
Bleu Oleander: he spoke to us about the current extinction of species
Calvino Rabeni: That's quite a nice bridge - neuroscience and natural history
Bleu Oleander: Rudolfo Llinas at NYU
Bleu Oleander: his book is great "i of the vortex"
Eden Haiku: Thinking about all these creatures fighting for their life with the oil spill
Calvino Rabeni: You found it inspiring / engaging
Bleu Oleander: also we met with the Editor of the Jefferson papers in Princeton
Bleu Oleander: that was a great experience as well
Bleu Oleander: anyway, I will be doing a page on our website with photos and links
Eliza Madrigal: Seems quite a full trip
    Eliza Madrigal: Oh, great
    Bleu Oleander: it was
Eden Haiku: That is wonderful that Spirit of the Senses has been going on for so many years Bleu...

    Eliza Madrigal nods
Bleu Oleander: yes, we've met some wonderful people over the years
Bleu Oleander: and of course always fun to catch up with family
Bleu Oleander: tried to interest them in sl
Bleu Oleander: you know how that goes! hehe
Eden Haiku: Did you convince anyone?
    Bleu Oleander: no
    Eden Haiku: :(

    --BELL--

As Bleu is inquiring about what has been happening around PaB, we envision what Eos will call "world-wide synchrony"

Bleu Oleander: any highlights I've missed here?
    Eden Haiku: Hum...
Eden Haiku: Eos and I suggested we do an experiment with the 15 minutes stopping with a timer on Saturdays and then for one hour before the guardian meeting.
Eden Haiku: Eliza said she is going to do it on Fridays. I will join you on that Eliza!
    Eliza Madrigal: Wonderful :))
Bleu Oleander: how would that work?
Eliza Madrigal: I may start it today actually... as I have gotten myself into a pickle and it might help :)
    Eos Amaterasu: Pickle as Being
    Eliza Madrigal: heheh
Eden Haiku: You set a timer to ring every 15 minutes Bleu.
    Eos Amaterasu sets his timer
Bleu Oleander: oh, to remind to do the 9 secs?
    Eliza Madrigal nods
Eden Haiku: Pickle as Being/ Setting the timer right now/
Eos Amaterasu set his time for 10 minutes, so it will ding on the :30
Eos Amaterasu will then set it for every 15 minutes
Eden Haiku: Yes... the timer helps actually.
    Bleu Oleander: hi Zen
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Zen :)

    Eos Amaterasu: / world-wide synchrony
    Zen Arado: hi all
Eden Haiku: Ordered an iPad this morning :)
Eliza Madrigal: This is the page where Eden shared her pause haikus :)
    Eos Amaterasu says, me too
Eliza Madrigal: Ooohhhh Eden and Eos, nice!
Eden Haiku: It was ordering day in Canada :)
Bleu Oleander: can you do sl on an ipad?
    Eliza Madrigal: Ah
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Zen Arado: timer app was no good
Zen Arado: still looking for one
Eliza Madrigal: Sorry to hear that zen but thanks for the follow-up
Eden Haiku: Wondering about that. Through a limited app like on iPod...
Zen Arado: more like an alarm clock needed
Eos Amaterasu: I'm assuming Sparkle and others will be modified to work great on iPad
Zen Arado: but that can ring during the day
    Zen Arado: Hi Lucinda
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Lucinda :))
    Bleu Oleander: hi Lucinda
Eden Haiku: Yes, there is also Pocket Metaverse which is a bit better than Sparkle for SL but still no visuals.
Eliza Madrigal: Wow... big group for Monday morning ; )

Eliza starts a deeply symbolic thread  involving a sofa…which will inspire the British guys a few interesting puns

Eliza Madrigal: (brb- am trying to fit an enormous sofa through a small doorway)
Eden Haiku: Lucinda is the one who told me about Metaverse.
Eos Amaterasu: Pickle as Being/ Setting the timer right now/ World-wide synchrony
Lucinda Lavender: Hi Zen, Bleu,Eden,,Eliza,Cal Yaku,
Zen Arado: is it possible to buy more land around Buyeo Bleu?
Eden Haiku: Have been using it Lucinda? The Pocket app?
Eden Haiku: World-wide synchrony, very good Eos! ;)
Eden Haiku: Already built all your land Zen, getting addicted too hey?
Lucinda Lavender: I have tried and yet I was so new to the PaB site that I have mainly stayed with the computer.
Zen Arado: thinking of giving up 1/4 sim
Zen Arado: who owns land that says Pab coastal region?
Lucinda Lavender: The main thing was that you could im someone and move the avatar around but there was no seeing of others...ers
Lucinda Lavender: It felt limited somehow.
Lucinda Lavender: Unless there was more I had not discovered somehow.
Eden Haiku: Yes, that is the unfortunate part of that app... No visuals...It is like doing PaB with a blindfold on...
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Lucinda Lavender: :)
Eliza Madrigal: Eos, saw your email a second ago (not that I was multi-tasking-heh) Are you off for travels today?
Eden Haiku: Anyone would like to focus on some topic to 'drop' in or out during the next pause?
Eden Haiku: tapping Eliza on her fingers (for bad behavior)...
Eliza Madrigal would like to drop the stress of getting the sofa through the door, and still get the sofa through the door
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: [this seems a needle's eye dilema]
Eden Haiku: Marvelling at your capacity to type and move a sofa Eliza...

Lucinda Lavender: nature is once again asking us to be open to the big picture...
Eliza Madrigal: (and wishing you only condusive obscurations-hehe)
    Bleu Oleander: :)
Eden Haiku: Picture a time when airports will be filled with timers going on every 15 minutes ;)
    Woolcinder Oxidor: hello Everyone
Eliza Madrigal smiles...and people asking one another for help finishing haikus
Eden Haiku: Everybody would freeze, dropping...
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Woolcinder :)
Eden Haiku: Hello Woolcinder, how are you?
    Lucinda Lavender: lovely!
    Bleu Oleander: hi Woolcinder

Zen Arado: but it isn't hard to do :)
    Eliza Madrigal: :))
Eos Amaterasu thinks that Eliza it taking multi-tasking to a whole new level

Eden Haiku: According to Lamb's theory about movements...
Eden Haiku: Which is what inspired the Teletubbies....
Eliza Madrigal: Oh? what is his theory Eden?
Woolcinder Oxidor: nietzsche also spoke of the three stages
Woolcinder Oxidor: the lion to the laod bearing camel to the child
Woolcinder Oxidor: indifferent..and too innocent to blush
Calvino Rabeni: Rudolfo Llinas' theory is also about movements ... but what of the teletubbies, Eden?
Zen Arado: Teletubbies more my level:)

Noticing a sound in RL, Storm subtly makes us shift from utter silliness into  nice quiet small tall about the weather that do not last, unfortunately, as the silliness takes over again, onigokko, sky swimming, chocolate disco and dream dancing kicking in…

Storm Nordwind listens in RL to the pounding of a flicker on a chimney cap
Eden Haiku: They give big hugs and repeat things twice!
Calvino Rabeni: Calvino Rabeni is interested in other parallels between these mythical teletubbies, and the mythical SL character "Storm Nordwind"

Storm Nordwind: Yes, it the one that goes:OM VAJRA SATTVA SAMAYA MANU PALAYA VAJRA SATTVA TENOPA TIKTA DRIDHO ME BHAWA SUTO KHAYO ME BHAWA SUPO KHAYO ME BHAWA ANU RAKTO ME BHAWA SARWA SIDDHI ME PRAYATSA SARWA KARMA SUTSA ME TSITAM SHRIYAM KURU HUNG HA HA HA HA HO BHAGAWAN SARWA TATHAGATA VAJRA MAMEMUNTSA VAJRI BHAWA MAHA SAMAYA SATTVA AH
Eden Haiku: oh, thanks...Would love to hear you say it....
Always courteous, Storm kindly recites the mantras on voice.
Eden Haiku: Ah! thank you so much! It was nice hearing it!
Eden Haiku: I can tell the "ha" at the end is very uplifting!
    Storm Nordwind: Yes it is!
Eden Haiku: How would you describe the effect of it?
Storm Nordwind: The whole mantra is supposed to be purifying
Storm Nordwind: And the feeling is like being scrubbed clean! :)
    Eden Haiku: Nice!
Eden Haiku: I miss all the chanting of when I was living in an ashram...
Storm Nordwind: There are other short sadhanas (rituals) that I want to do every day. But the meditation and preparatory practices for that are the main thing I'm trying to integrate daily
Storm Nordwind: 'Sustainable' is important though.
    Eden Haiku: yes...
Storm Nordwind: I'm such an impulsive person, that that will be a change for me! ;)
Eden Haiku: keeping the practices fresh and feasable every day...
Eden Haiku: So you recite these mantras every 2 hours? And what else?
Storm Nordwind: The effect of the mantra and the short 4 line sadhana that I do after it is astonishing. The feeling afterwards makes me wonder why I haven't done it before!
Eden Haiku: What is the short 4 line sadhana, if you can share that?

    --BELL--

Storm Nordwind: The 4 line is a condensation of a restatenent of the 5 Buddha family vows
Storm Nordwind: (There are 19 commitments in those)
    Eden Haiku: Oh wow!
Storm Nordwind: And the timer just went off - wonderful! :))
Storm Nordwind: There's another short sadhana - takes about 7 minutes - that I also want to do every day.
    Eden Haiku: yes?
Storm Nordwind: And there's something called ngondro (pronounced nundro) that is a set of practices you build up to do tens of thousands of times!
Storm Nordwind: But the meditation - that's the most important things
Eden Haiku: Oh my god!!! Storm! What about your flying carpet practices! Will you have any time left for playfullness?
    Storm Nordwind: hehe!
Storm Nordwind: I am incorrigibly playful!
Storm Nordwind: Or hadn't you noticed? ;)
Eden Haiku: I know you have many skills and are multitalented but beware of burning out!
Storm Nordwind: Oh I know all about burn out
    Eden Haiku: You do?
Storm Nordwind: That's why I said sustainable
Storm Nordwind: But balancing that, I'm also very lazy and easily distracted
Eden Haiku: Ah, so you are enthusiastic but cautious, that is a good thing.
Eden Haiku: Good protection mechanisms, being lazy and easily distracted :)
Storm Nordwind: I have an amazing opportunity now - not just the notion of the precious human life - but the teachings and the opportunity to practice
Eden Haiku: Yes, I see you found some treasure up there
Storm Nordwind: I know I squander such opportunities, and have done in the past - (hence my stay at Ganden!)
Storm Nordwind: (which was a result of previous squandering I found)
Storm Nordwind: So I have to find the middle way, yes
Eden Haiku: You were also experiencing some things at a very intuitive level I kind of recall?
    Storm Nordwind: Yes
Storm Nordwind: But I will still find time for poetry :)
Storm Nordwind: haiku and gogyohka are great!
Eden Haiku: Must be good to have found a practice to sustain that level of receptivity.
Storm Nordwind: Yes. I've found (for me) an unmatchable teacher - at last. That's a big help! :)
Storm Nordwind: It's something I used to hear and talk about decades ago
Storm Nordwind: That the 'grace' or 'blessings' of a teacher, the right teacher for you, actually makes a huge difference
Storm Nordwind: And now I've found it to be true
    Eden Haiku: Yes, it does.
Eden Haiku: What about this 7 minutes sadhana?
Storm Nordwind: Oh just some Tibetan stuff I do ;)
    Eden Haiku: :)))
Eden Haiku: Your practice of haikus and gogyohka has been really inspiring Storm!
Storm Nordwind: You're very kind Eden :)
Eden Haiku: I'm still feeling awkward with the gogyohka...
Storm Nordwind: Perhaps if one in twenty is a worthy offering, then I'm happy :)
Storm Nordwind: I found reading the poems on "Gogyohka Junction" has given me a great feel for it
Eden Haiku: Yes, it is a good practice not to be attached to the result. You write it and then it sorts itself out in some way...
    Storm Nordwind: yes!

    --BELL--

Eden Haiku: So your Mom passed away in the last year, I gathered from one of your short poems?
Storm Nordwind: Many people from the Anglicised version of the Japanese tanka tradition have take to gogyohka very easily
Storm Nordwind: Yes she did. On June 1st
Eden Haiku: Oh, sad. But then she left with a blessing…:)
Storm Nordwind: The blessing she gave was one of freedom.
Eden Haiku: The best blessing ever!
Storm Nordwind: I think I should go to the Post Office. Some important auction packages needing to be sent!
Eden Haiku: Oh yes, your auction. Good luck with that! How high did it go finally?
    Storm Nordwind: $910
    Eden Haiku: Congratulations!
    Storm Nordwind is amazed
    Storm Nordwind: for 5 cents!
Eden Haiku: It was nice talking to you this morning (((Storm))). Have a great day!
    Storm Nordwind: You too! :))
    Eden Haiku: Thank you!

Wow! How much I missed in this session, and how much I enjoyed the window into Storm's new practices which bear some similarity to my own. :)
My daughter giggled over my shoulder the whole time reading. And Oh! The sofa is out, though not by my getting it through the door... more by my putting it in the doorway which started its own chain of events. :)
