The Guardian for this meeting was Calvino Rabeni. The lack of comments is by Calvino Rabeni.
Calvino Rabeni: Hi, how are you, stevenaia?
stevenaia Michinaga: hello, I am good, thanks
stevenaia Michinaga: how was your week?
--BELL--
Calvino Rabeni: It was good - winter has passed into summer almost
Calvino Rabeni: Tuesday night it was near freezing - last night it was comfortable to roam in shorts and T-shirt at midnight
stevenaia Michinaga: my cat seems to be joining me more often at these sessions, relaxing between me and my laptop with his head on my arm
Calvino Rabeni: Sounds cosy!
stevenaia Michinaga: wonders if he senses how relaxing all this is
Calvino Rabeni: I think, animals sense that - relaxation, or sometimes, expectation - where the interest is
Calvino Rabeni: where something might happen if you wait for it
Calvino Rabeni: I think cats tune into that
Calvino Rabeni: instinctually - maybe - something tasty could show up :)
Calvino Rabeni: My last cat would catch bats somehow - mostly by knowing where to wait I think
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, licking his fur and my arm
stevenaia Michinaga: :)
stevenaia Michinaga: cats are a good example of doing by not doing
stevenaia Michinaga: have bats come to them
Calvino Rabeni: It works with people too - if one waits around by a lake, after a while, things come
Calvino Rabeni: Today it was fish and a bird that swims underwater
Calvino Rabeni: The animals know us, better than we know ourselves - except maybe in a scientific sense
stevenaia Michinaga: much to be learned by waiting
stevenaia Michinaga: speaks to patience
Calvino Rabeni: Yes, waiting, watching, with a feeling of what happens
stevenaia Michinaga: or without any anticipation
Calvino Rabeni: I think- "expect the unexpected" is an apt slogan
Calvino Rabeni: Alertness
Calvino Rabeni: Just don't know or expect what manner of thing may appear
stevenaia Michinaga: the cat sleeps
Calvino Rabeni: but a kind of "soft gaze" of awareness
Calvino Rabeni: Even if the cat appears to be asleep, it is likely registering a lot of its environment
--BELL--
stevenaia Michinaga: hello Swirly
stevenaia Michinaga: feel free to join us
Swirlyfoot Lighthouse: ty, what does "on air" imply?
stevenaia Michinaga: we record our conversations here

Swirlyfoot Lighthouse: i hope i haven't interrupted, please continue with the meeting
stevenaia Michinaga: I think we are scratching the surface

Swirlyfoot Lighthouse: ok, thank you steven
Swirlyfoot Lighthouse: hello, calvino
Calvino Rabeni: Good to meet you, Swirlyfoot
stevenaia Michinaga: not, not interrupting at all, out topic was my cat and his perception of calm

Calvino Rabeni: surely so
Calvino Rabeni: about vampires i meant

stevenaia Michinaga: perhaps
Swirlyfoot Lighthouse: lol, yeah
Swirlyfoot Lighthouse: coincidentally, i've been trying to learn to circular with my didge, but not having much success

Swirlyfoot Lighthouse: nice, i've been trying with youtube
stevenaia Michinaga: I heard in Youtube, that it diminishing snoring, something I am told I need to do
--BELL--
Calvino Rabeni: a friend mastered that breathing but it took a while
Swirlyfoot Lighthouse: sorry, was afk for a moment
stevenaia Michinaga: if you read the notecard, we talk a break every 15 minutes for a "mini-meditation, , it used to be 9 seconds, but we do it for 90 seconds now

Lucinda Lavender: Some one I know has sort of chosen to go on strike as it were.
Lucinda Lavender: A parent... at my school
Lucinda Lavender: she has rather valiently chosen to go sustainable for the last year and a half.
Lucinda Lavender: It is most amazing really...
Swirlyfoot Lighthouse: she's striking against something or someone?
Lucinda Lavender: if you are interested in the story tho I will put her link up.
Swirlyfoot Lighthouse: surely
Lucinda Lavender: The super human level of work that she has tried to accomplish
Lucinda Lavender: while bring up kids etc
--BELL--
Calvino Rabeni: What was the surprising thing to you - you used the word shock?
Lucinda Lavender: She has deit is hard to explain...but she has reached meltdown stage...
Calvino Rabeni: deit? diet?
Calvino Rabeni: Took on a big campaign with little help?
Lucinda Lavender: sustainableeats.com is her address and I am having trouble moving it in here to 2L

Lucinda Lavender: Yes!
Lucinda Lavender: I remember times when it was not easy with young kids too
Swirlyfoot Lighthouse: tell me about "student of color work" please
Lucinda Lavender: Ah! I studied dreaming and symbolism of color with a woman named Connie Kaplan for some years.
Swirlyfoot Lighthouse: coolness
Lucinda Lavender: Dreams were the way I was introduced to her. Attending her workshop
Lucinda Lavender: There were many helpful ideas about dreaming...and then she expanded her work to include color
Swirlyfoot Lighthouse: nice, i paint and have always enjoyed the work of arists with vivid color or new explorations of color
Lucinda Lavender: I have participated in a ceremonial form called dream circle for a while now.
--BELL--
Lucinda Lavender: I see.
Calvino Rabeni: Calvino Rabeni was thinking - tell me about Yamaha Scooter, please :) ... then I realized you both have "dream" in your profiles. :)
Lucinda Lavender: ?
Swirlyfoot Lighthouse is observing the silence
Swirlyfoot Lighthouse smiles
Swirlyfoot Lighthouse: i ride a yamaha vino 50cc scooter as my daily drive... couldn't afford something bigger like a hybrid!
Swirlyfoot Lighthouse: but i did get to test drive a GM hydrogren truck last year for about six weeks... that was awesome
Calvino Rabeni: I was in asia recently - since small bikes are so popular there is a great selection
Swirlyfoot Lighthouse: i love my yamaha! 4 yrs, 5,500 miles, zero troubles
Calvino Rabeni: I was coveting a 135cc automatic yamaha scooter
Calvino Rabeni: but it is not sold in the USA
Swirlyfoot Lighthouse: lol, aound here a 50cc is considered a motorized bicycle... can park it on the sidewalk!
Calvino Rabeni: Countries with good weather are great for that
Calvino Rabeni: I have a 50cc too, right, parks anywhere
Calvino Rabeni: In fact, it's safer for it there
Swirlyfoot Lighthouse holds two thumbs way up!
Calvino Rabeni: I often put it by the bike rack
Lucinda Lavender: :)
Calvino Rabeni: on the street it got bumped over a couple times - cars couldn't quite see it
Swirlyfoot Lighthouse: i'm off for the night!
Swirlyfoot Lighthouse: wonderful to meet you both
Swirlyfoot Lighthouse: all peace to ya!
Swirlyfoot Lighthouse: i'll drop back by again sometime
