    Pema Pera: hi ELiza!
    Pema Pera: Hi CC!
    ContreCourant Resident: Hello Eliza, Pema.
ContreCourant Resident: Nice to be here again. Happy New year
Eliza Madrigal: Happy New Year :)
    Pema Pera: Happy New Year!

    --BELL--

    Eliza Madrigal: :)
ContreCourant Resident: Pema- you are in Japan, aren't you?
    Pema Pera: yes, in Kyoto
Pema Pera: it's lunch time here
ContreCourant Resident: How do they celebrate new year there?
Pema Pera: so I made vanish because of famish any time :)
    Eliza Madrigal: famishing vanishing
    ContreCourant Resident: :-)
Pema Pera: oh, it's THE big holiday of the year
    ContreCourant Resident: oh?
Pema Pera: like Christmas in the US
ContreCourant Resident: is it tied in with a religious belief system?
Pema Pera: everything comes to a halt for several days
    Pema Pera: not directly, no
Pema Pera: just the new year :)
Pema Pera: a time for family visits
ContreCourant Resident: ah. like chinese new year a bit-time for family

Pema Pera: also, surrending new year there are many parties in December and January
Pema Pera: in December "bounenkai" -- forgetting (the troubles of) the last year
ContreCourant Resident: Sounds like it might involve alcohol!!
Pema Pera: in January: "shinnenkai" -- (enjoying) the new year
Eliza Madrigal: "forgetting the troubles of the last year"... nice... and surely Japan has gone through a lot in the last year
ContreCourant Resident: lots they would like to put behind them anyway
Pema Pera: oh, sure, anything does in Japan -- flower viewing, moon viewing, whatever viewing means imbibing significant alcohol :)
Pema Pera: yes, indeed, Eliza, that was a constant theme this time

    ContreCourant Resident: lol
    ContreCourant Resident: saki?
    Pema Pera: sake, yes
    Pema Pera: and anything else
    ContreCourant Resident: sake
    Pema Pera: they are omnivores
    ContreCourant Resident: lol
    Pema Pera: omnidrinkers?
    ContreCourant Resident: omnibibes
    Eliza Madrigal: omnibibers
    Pema Pera: hahaha
    Pema Pera: yes
    Eliza Madrigal: hah, yes
    Pema Pera: mostly vegatarianbibers too
    ContreCourant Resident: :-)
Pema Pera: not so many cultures drink blood, though probably some do
    Pema Pera: hi Multi!
    ContreCourant Resident: they drinkvegetables?
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Multi
Pema Pera: I mean beer and wine are vegetarian :)
Pema Pera: (they drink after fermentation :-)
ContreCourant Resident wonders how V* juice and sake would taste
    ContreCourant Resident: V8
    Pema Pera: fine, I'm sure
    ContreCourant Resident: ah
    ContreCourant Resident: Hi Multi
Pema Pera: most definitely if it's your third drink :)
    Multiverse1 Resident: I'll have a pototo please
ContreCourant Resident: yes the taste buds kind of loose it after the 3rd
    Multiverse1 Resident: potato?
ContreCourant Resident: one potato 2 pototo
    ContreCourant Resident: 3 patoto

Eliza Madrigal: I read a wonderful quote today:
"For last year's words belong to last year's language and next year's words await another voice." -- T. S. Eliot

    ContreCourant Resident: 4
Multiverse1 Resident: sorry I'mm stumbling after a Dr. Pepper
    Pema Pera: great quote, Eliza!
Eliza Madrigal: have been inbibing it all day :)
ContreCourant Resident: Nice concept. the words waiting for the voice
    Pema Pera: hi Bleu!
Eliza Madrigal: yes.... thought so... as each generation has its own time

    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Bleu :)
    Multiverse1 Resident: Nice, Mr Eliot
    ContreCourant Resident: Hello Bleu
Pema Pera: happy new year, Bleu!
    Multiverse1 Resident: Hiya all
Bleu Oleander: happy new year !!
    Multiverse1 Resident: Happy 2012
Eliza Madrigal: Happy New Year :))
ContreCourant Resident: Happy New year to one and all
Multiverse1 Resident: And all for One!
ContreCourant Resident: I like the sound of 2012. A year wrapped by two 2s
    Eliza Madrigal: :)

    2012-01-02_1900_Bleu.jpg

Eliza Madrigal: For the last three weeks at this time we've been discussing Appreciation, and specifically a sentence that's been part of the group's explorations almost from inception.
Eliza Madrigal: "Appreciate the presence of appearance as a presentation by Being"
Eliza Madrigal: Does the topic seem interesting to continue with?
    Bleu Oleander: a PaB classic

ContreCourant Resident: I dont understand "as a presentation by being'
Eliza Madrigal: Contre, I have a notecard with a few excerpts about the exploration , just one moment...
Eliza Madrigal: but that's a great place to begin!
    ContreCourant Resident: thank you Eliza
ContreCourant Resident: who is being? me?
ContreCourant Resident: and who is doing the presenting?
Pema Pera: we can leave out "Being" for now
    ContreCourant Resident: or what

    2012-01-02_1900_ContreCourant_008.jpg

Multiverse1 Resident: Appreciation is a thankfulness isn't it?
    ContreCourant Resident: sure
Pema Pera: to get a sense of the APA part
ContreCourant Resident: I sort of "get" the first part
    Multiverse1 Resident: or respect?
Eliza Madrigal: Appreciate the presence of appearance
Pema Pera: it can have many aspects, Multi
Multiverse1 Resident: or warm fuzzy feeling

ContreCourant Resident: I appreciate the presence of your appearance
ContreCourant Resident: I appreciate your presence as well

Pema Pera: yesterday I started a new twist to APA in focusing on frustrations, and finding appreciation in there
ContreCourant Resident: Isn't presnce of appearance redundant?
Multiverse1 Resident: yes, we would never encounter each other without that
    Eliza Madrigal listens, Pema...
Pema Pera: appreciating how frustrations show me how much freedom I have in how to respond to situations
    ContreCourant Resident: nods
Pema Pera: feels like I could work with that for a few years -- may decide to do so :)
Multiverse1 Resident: being free to be frustrated?
Eliza Madrigal: :) me too... the frustrations do seem to appear
ContreCourant Resident: nods in appreciation of having the opportunity of making sense of these words

    2012-01-02_1900_Pema-2.jpg2012-01-02_1900_Pema-3.jpg

    --BELL--

Multiverse1 Resident: roadblocks to be overcome
    Multiverse1 Resident: Hi Sam
    Bleu Oleander: hi Sam
Eliza Madrigal: "Overcoming" feels like such a struggle… what I have liked about this exploration most, is the sense of friendliness with all that arises…
Pema Pera: each time something annoying happens, I have a choice to become buy into it and actually to become annoyed or to just watch my buttons being pushed, without necessarily going along with it -- I've found it a very interesting, even amusing, exercise

    2012-01-02_1900_Pema-4.jpg

    Pema Pera: hi Sam!
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Sam :)
    Eliza Madrigal: amusing?
    ContreCourant Resident: Hello samuo
Pema Pera: fun to see my own antics :)

    Eliza Madrigal: :)))
oO0Oo Resident: Hi everybody.. nice to see you :)
Multiverse1 Resident: to watch others reactions to your non-reaction?
    ContreCourant Resident: detachment
Bleu Oleander: are there times when frustrations could be valid reactions?
Pema Pera: no, to watch myself
    Pema Pera: oh sure, Bleu!
    Eliza Madrigal: nice question Bleu

Pema Pera: I'm not talking about repressing
Pema Pera: watching can lead to action too
Pema Pera: just not knee-jerk reaction action

Multiverse1 Resident: ah,as to how we sometymes don't know why we do such things maybe
    Bleu Oleander: thanks Pema
Pema Pera: indeed, it's mostly automatic pilot, Multi
Bleu Oleander: so more thoughtful reactions
    Pema Pera: yes

ContreCourant Resident: We need to slow down to do that I guess
Multiverse1 Resident: we are animals afterall
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi San :)
    Pema Pera: hi San
    Eliza Madrigal: slowing down, yes
    Multiverse1 Resident: Multi, pauses
    Bleu Oleander: hi San :)
    Multiverse1 Resident: Hi San
Pema Pera: and most frustrations are just a waste of energy -- like when getting angry at a stupid computerized system that doesn't let you get through (I can get very very good at that, if I let myself go :-)
Pema Pera: but watching myself doing that teaches me then a lot about myself
    Eliza Madrigal nods
    ContreCourant Resident: Hi San
Multiverse1 Resident: I too experience this, mainly notice it happens in waves with me.

Pema Pera: and learning to listen more to my own frustrations, also taking them seriously in their own way, helps me to listen better to other people's frustrations too
Eliza Madrigal: listening could be said to be 'slowing down'?
    Pema Pera nods
    Multiverse1 Resident: :-)
ContreCourant Resident: listening to yourself requires some distance from yourself
Multiverse1 Resident: hard to be objective
Eliza Madrigal: not "rushing to judgment'"

Pema Pera: funny thing is, I've done this at many individual occasions, but now that I'm doing it across the board, a whole day, or a few days, somehow it has much more umpf
ContreCourant Resident: It's like being split into the objective and subjective
Bleu Oleander: there could be "hidden" causes to frustration also that might surface with not rushing to judgment
    Pema Pera: yes!!
    ContreCourant Resident: nods
    Eliza Madrigal nods
    Pema Pera: always are
    Pema Pera: hi Rhia
    ContreCourant Resident: always?
Multiverse1 Resident: other frustrations cause the wave for me, and mount
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Rhi :)
    ContreCourant Resident: Hello

Eliza Madrigal: We're continuing a conversation on Appreciate the Presence of Appearance :)
    Bleu Oleander: hi Rhi
    Multiverse1 Resident: Hi Rhi
Rhiannon Dragoone blinks and rubs her eyes a the grey
    Rhiannon Dragoone: Hi Bleu
Eliza Madrigal: Holler if you'd like a note of the beginning of the session :)
    Rhiannon Dragoone: Hi Multi!

oO0Oo Resident: also.. perhaps shifting (adding cycles of attention) to awareness.. and global awareness even.. may seem to slow things down relatively... speaking.. like with near death experiences.

Multiverse1 Resident: appreciate the frustrations is my thought
    Pema Pera: interesting comparison, Sam!
    ContreCourant Resident: near death experiences?
ContreCourant Resident: like drowning and life passes before your eyes?

    oO0Oo Resident: right.. heightened awareness
    ContreCourant Resident: nods
ContreCourant Resident: It would be hard to maintain that state
    Multiverse1 Resident: during frustration?

    pab apa_003.png

Eliza Madrigal: it may be a strange thing to say, but I find that appearances sort of 'separate' when I slow down… things that seemed clumped together begin to reveal layers.. less solid and obstacle-y. .. parsing what is really at issue from what may be added on
    ContreCourant Resident: nods
    Multiverse1 Resident: the layers
Eliza Madrigal: so maybe "everything" isn't awful but one thing needs to be addressed... in the case of a frustration, say...

Rhiannon Dragoone: Are we talking about the presentation of being?
Bleu Oleander: hard to see the layers "on the fly"
Pema Pera: yes . . . the unpacking or dissolving (@ ELiza)
Eliza Madrigal: For tonight we've been talking about the abridged version, Rhi
ContreCourant Resident: things become less overwhelming -or frustratng- when broken down into components
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Multiverse1 Resident: well if you are dealing with a machine that is difficult

Pema Pera: What has been different for me, the last couple days, in around-the-clock "frustration practice" is that I have been able to watch the many frustrations arising. That has been the most fun. In the past it was typically only after I had reacted to something that I realized I could have done (much) better.
Multiverse1 Resident: or as Pema said a computer
Rhiannon Dragoone: Oh the one in Reader's Digest? "My most unforgettable presentation of being?"
    ContreCourant Resident: lol
Eliza Madrigal: around the clock frustration does sound like a machine! :)
    Pema Pera: :-)
ContreCourant Resident: what have you been so frustrated aout Pema?

    --BELL--

    Eliza Madrigal: ty :)
Pema Pera: Oh, I'm counting all frustrations I can find, and looking more, I find more: like having a traffic light just jumping to red when you want to cross, small things like that too; or the pavement being uneven and tripping you up; or a cloud passing in front of the sun -- you name it. :-)
Pema Pera: and then the occasional big ones, getting annoyed at a person, or at myself
    ContreCourant Resident: nods
Pema Pera: getting annoyed at not having more time in a day to do all I want to do -- that's a bit one for me
Multiverse1 Resident: Is it like a wave in your life pema, or is this a recurring occurance?
Rhiannon Dragoone: I'd rather count my blessings than my frustrations. It's less, well, frustrating.
    Eliza Madrigal: :)

Pema Pera: so "frustration" may be a big word, perhaps "friction" of any kind would be more accurate
ContreCourant Resident: I thought you were working on something difficult or complicated - never reaching a satisfying conclusion
Rhiannon Dragoone: Friction can be a good thing
Pema Pera: any deviation from "not doing"
Eliza Madrigal: seems healthy to not repress or try to change what comes up but just be with
    Multiverse1 Resident: produces heat
    ContreCourant Resident: smiles
Rhiannon Dragoone: Yes, Pema, if you would jsut set aside your plans for a perpetual motion machine. Might make life a little easier
Pema Pera: anything can be a good thing in the proper context . . .
    Multiverse1 Resident: hehe
Rhiannon Dragoone: Perma, uh, anything? Like National Socialism?
    ContreCourant Resident: smiles at Rhi
ContreCourant Resident: Sounds good to me
Pema Pera wonders whether to get into a typical philosophical discussion . . .

Rhiannon Dragoone: There are bad, and frustrating, things.. But my point is to not focus on them
Rhiannon Dragoone: Focus on what you can do; not what you can't
ContreCourant Resident: sometimes it's useful to focus on them
Multiverse1 Resident: agree, but these things have to be worked out
ContreCourant Resident: to see what is creating the friction
    Bleu Oleander: balance maybe?
    Rhiannon Dragoone: I iagree, Countre
Rhiannon Dragoone: jeepers, it is so frustrating when SL eats my D's
    ContreCourant Resident: good! :-)
    Rhiannon Dragoone stomps her foot
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    ContreCourant Resident: dont hurt it
    Multiverse1 Resident: the earth shakes
Eliza Madrigal: many chances to be with frustration in SL :)
    ContreCourant Resident appreciates the thump
Rhiannon Dragoone giggles at Multi; winks at Contre
Multiverse1 Resident: many tymes for this presence here.sl can be a monster
    ContreCourant Resident winks back

Eliza Madrigal: Might we dwell a little more with "appearance" itself ?
Rhiannon Dragoone: I would prefer the term, 'presentation,' to apperance.
Bleu Oleander: the appearance of frustration?
Rhiannon Dragoone: Appearance always points to what is not appearing.
    ContreCourant Resident: It does?
Rhiannon Dragoone: yes, appearance is always appearance of, Contgre
Eliza Madrigal: the presence of presentation... hm...

    Multiverse1 Resident: darcon appeared
    ContreCourant Resident: Hello darcon
    Rhiannon Dragoone: Hi darcon!
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Darcon :)
    Pema Pera: hi darcon
    darcon Xue: Hi loves :-)
    Bleu Oleander: hi Darcon

Pema Pera: Sam, would you like to say a bit more about "perhaps shifting (adding cycles of attention) to awareness." ?
ContreCourant Resident appreciates the appearance of darcon
Rhiannon Dragoone: Yes, Sam, I just came in when you said that, and I haven't a clue what you mean.
    ContreCourant Resident: 9 seconds etc?
    Eliza Madrigal listens
    Multiverse1 Resident: cycles of attention

    2012-01-02_1900_Samud(oO0Oo).jpg

oO0Oo Resident thinks... nice gap :)
    ContreCourant Resident: mind the gap
    Rhiannon Dragoone waves at Samud
    Pema Pera: :)
    oO0Oo Resident: :)
ContreCourant Resident: was that a cycle?
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Rhiannon Dragoone is more confused that evver
    oO0Oo Resident: :) perfect
    Multiverse1 Resident: no frustration allowed
ContreCourant Resident watches her life flow by

    --BELL--

    oO0Oo Resident: frame?
    ContreCourant Resident: framed
Eliza Madrigal: thinks of the lojong "don't worry, there's nothing real about your confusion"

Eliza Madrigal: :) Happy lunching Pema
Multiverse1 Resident: kiinda funny, got stuck in a typing mode, though I wasn't typing then thought better and ceased animations. odd but soothing
Santoshima Resident: bye Pema ~ take care
Pema Pera: lunch calling indeed :)
    Bleu Oleander: bye Pema :)
    Rhiannon Dragoone: bye Pema
    Multiverse1 Resident: By pema
oO0Oo Resident: yes.. and don't believe your thoughts
    Eliza Madrigal: Pema's famishing vanishing....
    Pema Pera: take care, everybody!
oO0Oo Resident: Bye Pema :) GTSY
ContreCourant Resident: bye pema. thank you
darcon Xue: Have a nice time Pema love :-)
Rhiannon Dragoone: Eiza, you're a poet; and I bet you didn't know it; hope you don't glow it.
    Rhiannon Dragoone: bon apetit, Pema
    Eliza Madrigal: :)

Eliza Madrigal: just a tie in to the beginning of the session :)
Eliza Madrigal: seem to do that... loop around :)
    Multiverse1 Resident: cycles

    pab apa_002.png

Rhiannon Dragoone: Which I missed. So the presentation of being is frustration due to not having had lunch?
    Eliza Madrigal nods Multi
    ContreCourant Resident: it always contributes
Multiverse1 Resident: hmmm food for thought
Rhiannon Dragoone: Cycle. Of what. Or just cycles?
    Multiverse1 Resident: bicycles
    ContreCourant Resident: cycles of attention
Rhiannon Dragoone: seansonal cycle, menstrual cucles, bi-cycles?
ContreCourant Resident: beaming in beaming out
ContreCourant Resident: breathing in breathing out
Rhiannon Dragoone: mulit, lol; we chorused in our thinking

oO0Oo Resident wonders if Pema saw the "Sneaky Hate Cycle"

    http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.co...te-spiral.html

Eliza Madrigal: I like Pema's observation a lot... because too often I see myself sort of dress something up to be more pleasant or presentable... rather than just letting it be what it is and accepting that
Eliza Madrigal: :)) Sam... everyone should click that
    Eliza Madrigal giggles
Rhiannon Dragoone: yeah, you have to be accurate; although a positive slant is always a good thing.
    ContreCourant Resident: nice one Samuo

Eliza Madrigal: yes, maybe that's where 'presence' comes in
    Eliza Madrigal: illumination
Rhiannon Dragoone: Well, Hitler did make an affordable car, have universal health insurance, while ending unemployment and inflation.
Rhiannon Dragoone: I still prefer presentation to presence. Well, maybe not, I can go both ways, come to think of it.
Multiverse1 Resident: multi is appreciating Elizas acceptence of the Good people do bad things, and Bad people do good
Multiverse1 Resident: that kinda got mixed
Rhiannon Dragoone: yeah, my point exactly, Multi; at least the way I presented it

Rhiannon Dragoone: I didn't mean to suggest earlier that we ignore the ba, just that the ba shouldn't be our focus.
Multiverse1 Resident: time also can change our presence of being as can health
    ContreCourant Resident: ba?
Rhiannon Dragoone: Our subconscious will propel us toward whatever we focus on.
    Multiverse1 Resident: not always
Rhiannon Dragoone: "I don't want to lose my house; I *don't* want to lose my house; I DON'T WANT TO LOSE MY HOUSE." Hey, I lost my house, how did that happen?
    ContreCourant Resident: absent minded
    Multiverse1 Resident: multi-minded
ContreCourant Resident: self fulfilling prophesy kind of thing?
darcon Xue: The Laws are very simple: 1) thought is creative 2) fear attracts like energy 3) love is all there is
Bleu Oleander: nite everyone ... take care :)

    Eliza Madrigal: Night Bleu :))
    Rhiannon Dragoone: nite Bleus
    Multiverse1 Resident: nite bleu
    ContreCourant Resident: waves at Bleu
darcon Xue: nite Bleu love :-)
Rhiannon Dragoone: More what darcon said; Law of Attraction
Eliza Madrigal: will settle for 3 :)
    ContreCourant Resident: thanks darcon
Rhiannon Dragoone: You attract what you love or what you fear
ContreCourant Resident: are things that simple?
Rhiannon Dragoone: No, of course not, but it still helps to keep the law of attraction in mind.

Multiverse1 Resident: well in large populations, tell the public enough and they will believe
    ContreCourant Resident: yes. true
    Multiverse1 Resident: propagannda anyone
Eliza Madrigal: Bye Contre :) Be well
ContreCourant Resident: thank you everyone. I enjoyed this.
Rhiannon Dragoone: ty Contre for being here
Multiverse1 Resident: you can do it to yourself as well
    Multiverse1 Resident: by Contre

    Eliza Madrigal: self-propaganda?
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Multiverse1 Resident: sure
oO0Oo Resident: might add blindspots (ignorance) to the love/ fear omnibus
Rhiannon Dragoone: Hey, I'm going afk to Skype Rosalyn; if she answers, I'll log out. So don't mind me if I'm vacant eyed and suddenly leave.
Multiverse1 Resident: the house would be an example
Rhiannon Dragoone: In case, I do, have a great 2012 everyone.
    Multiverse1 Resident: ok
    Rhiannon Dragoone: Love you all.
Eliza Madrigal: No worries Rhi :) Best to you and to Rosalyn in 2012
    Rhiannon Dragoone: thanks, Eliza
oO0Oo Resident: thanks Rhi.. Happy New Year
darcon Xue: and love always, Rhia love :-)
Eliza Madrigal: Night Sam, be well
    Multiverse1 Resident: Happy 2012 Sam
    Rhiannon Dragoone: u 2 Samud
oO0Oo Resident: and Happiness all round :) Take care. Nice to see you all.
Multiverse1 Resident: self propaganda, my word for the day

    --BELL--

Eliza Madrigal: :) was remembering a quote I made note of a few months ago... re love... and Being...
    Eliza Madrigal:

oO0Oo Resident: so, is being, the original 'real' love?
    oO0Oo Resident: unconditional acceptence?
oO0Oo Resident: without subject or object?
oO0Oo Resident: from which this playground arises?
    (from http://wiki.playasbeing.org/Chat_Logs/2011/01/2011.01.11_19%3a00_-_Timing_Waking )

Multiverse1 Resident: yes, in my view procreation from esssence or non-being to the reality of this being. good thought in " real love " and !st true
    darcon Xue: What is love?
    Multiverse1 Resident: oneness
    Multiverse1 Resident: with another
Eliza Madrigal: undefinable, which is still a definition...
    darcon Xue: what is another?
Eliza Madrigal: Multi, might you say more about non-being? this may be a similar question...

Eliza Madrigal: sometimes we've had discussions about a no-objects view in which there are no 'beings' in a sense
darcon Xue: if there are no beings, what are there?
Eliza Madrigal: and I think that is certainly relevant to the topic we started off with, appreciating the presence of appearances as a presentation by being

Eliza Madrigal: well, if looking to the quote above, one might say, as you did, that there is only love
darcon Xue: so what is the being ? :-)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)))
darcon Xue: the being is love ?
Eliza Madrigal: yes, in a sense , a being without borders perhaps
darcon Xue: the true being have no borders?

Eliza Madrigal: not sure... musing along with you... suppose if one says 'there are no borders' then there is still a kind of pinning down
Eliza Madrigal: some kind of pretend of knowing
Eliza Madrigal: a near miss or some such :)

    Eliza Madrigal: WB Multi
darcon Xue: wb multi love :-)
Multiverse1 Resident: frustration of sl and my pc. needs a doctor

    --BELL--

Eliza Madrigal: Pleasure to talk with you both, lovely session :)
    Multiverse1 Resident: C ya Eliza
Eliza Madrigal waves bye for now :)
Multiverse1 Resident: what of borders darcon
darcon Xue: Thank you for allowing us to be with you :-)
    Multiverse1 Resident: agreed
    Eliza Madrigal: Namaste' :) Night
    darcon Xue: Namaste :-)

darcon Xue: beings have borders being what they are?
Multiverse1 Resident: yes, I would say my physical being has borders
Multiverse1 Resident: but not as demarked in my being consiously
Multiverse1 Resident: yet there is flow of traffic in and out of both parts
darcon Xue: but you be without your phycical?
    Multiverse1 Resident: no, not that
Multiverse1 Resident: more like my body has more " Definitive " borders I can " see "
