Lucinda Lavender: I was looking up something and did not see you even just now...so sorry:)
Hana Furlough: yeah it's been awhile! but things have slowed down a little in RL, so here i am!
Hana Furlough: no worries!

Lucinda Lavender: Good, off of the school season so getting some rest
Hana Furlough: nice! well deserved, no doubt!
Lucinda Lavender: and working on fun projects:)
Hana Furlough: oooh what kind of projects?
Lucinda Lavender: cleaning house, walking, taking care of elders, visiting with my friend who is a Buddhist nun
Lucinda Lavender: going out for lunch
Lucinda Lavender: going to visit my daughter, then comiing home...
Hana Furlough: ahh sounds nice and relaxing (although maybe taking care of elders is stressful?)
Lucinda Lavender: not too ...just doing errands and teaching them about computer a bit
Hana Furlough: oh nice
Hana Furlough: that sounds pretty fun
Lucinda Lavender: they are both in a care center for a time post op
Hana Furlough: oh that's rough
Lucinda Lavender: yes...adjustments to not living at home...
Lucinda Lavender: quite a transition
Hana Furlough: ahh yeah i can imagine that would be difficult
--BELL--
Lucinda Lavender: How about you? projects? rests? changes?
Hana Furlough: nothing too exciting, just research as usual
Hana Furlough: i'm headed back to the states for a week at the end of july, so that'll be my summer vacation
Hana Furlough: otherwise nothing new to report
Lucinda Lavender: I forget the topic of your research...if it is ok to share that...
Hana Furlough: hello, ari!
Arisia Vita: Hi all, good to see you
Hana Furlough: i'm happy to share
Hana Furlough: it's japanese literature and religion
Lucinda Lavender: lovely!...Hi Ari:)
Arisia Vita: small group today, fate went with quality over quantity...
Hana Furlough: ha
Lucinda Lavender: Ari have you been here before...welcome if not....
Arisia Vita: many many times....
Lucinda Lavender: ha
Lucinda Lavender: ok:)
Arisia Vita: I am a guardian too, and happy to be so
Hana Furlough: oh nice
Hana Furlough: i don't think i've met you before, so it's nice to meet you ^^
Arisia Vita: my pleasure as well
Lucinda Lavender: I have not been around this week since I was on vacation...I am a little out of the loop as they say
Arisia Vita: Meet not as strangers hoping to become friends, but as friends hoping not to become strangers.
Hana Furlough: sounds good
Lucinda Lavender: :)
Hana Furlough: so how's your day going, ari?
Arisia Vita: great, even better now
Arisia Vita: yours?
Hana Furlough: good good
We begin to share...
Lucinda Lavender: Hana...I was wondering if you have a poem to share...not to put you on the spot...or even a line...something you have encountered ...
Hana Furlough: hmm one second let me think
Hana Furlough: there was one i saw recently that i really liked
Lucinda Lavender: :))
Lucinda Lavender: I have been thinking alot about creativity this last few weeks...
Lucinda Lavender: and last week before coming to this session I had had a special dream...
Lucinda Lavender: I lUci listens
Arisia Vita: pls share your dream, if you wish, and tell us what made it special to you?
Hana Furlough: sorry this is an on-the-fly translation but here it is
Lucinda Lavender: great Hana...
Lucinda Lavender: I will share dream image after...
Hana Furlough:
As though stars in the sky reflected
....in the marsh fireflies at midnight
Hana Furlough: (ooh sorry weird spacing)
Lucinda Lavender: Lovely!
--BELL--
Arisia Vita: your on-the-fly words come from the heart, and that makes them special, and beautiful, thank you
Hana Furlough: aww thanks : )
Hana Furlough: can we hear about your dream image, luci?
Lucinda Lavender: Yes Hanah! Thank you so much!...I have just come from seeing fireflies for the first time in a long time....
Lucinda Lavender: Yes it comes from the land of the fire flies:)
Hana Furlough: i bet!
Lucinda Lavender:riding on a train in sunlight
a blue dolphin hops into my lap from the right
it snuggles there and closes the tiny blue eyes
Arisia Vita: lovely, ty for sharing it
Arisia Vita: what made it special to you?
Hana Furlough: wow that is a very intense image
Lucinda Lavender: thought so too...
Lucinda Lavender: it was special because it reminded me of holding a child...mothering...
Arisia Vita: well said
Hana Furlough: that's what i thought of when you shared it
Hana Furlough: it sounded like the dolphin was going to take a nap on your lap
Lucinda Lavender: and also it pointed back to a recent teaching in my preschool classroom where we danced with scarves and dolphins
Hana Furlough: ahh interesting
Hana Furlough: i was wondering where your dolphin came from
Lucinda Lavender: yes we talk about sea animals just before summer...and our trip to the beach...
Lucinda Lavender: I had a special moment teaching where the props and the music came together
Lucinda Lavender: in a special way
Hana Furlough: : )
Arisia Vita: seeing life through a child's eyes is special in many ways
Arisia Vita: Keep me away from the wisdom which does not cry, the philosophy which does not laugh, and the greatness which does not bow before children. - Kahlil Gibran
Lucinda Lavender: :))
Hana Furlough: : ) !
Lucinda Lavender: yes
Lucinda Lavender: yesterday...with my friend we tallked about how as we have gotten older we are less anxious...because we are focussed on helping our children
Lucinda Lavender: and again it feels like the mothering is a soothing thing newly remembered and experienced
Hana Furlough: you must get to experience that a lot teaching preschool, no?
Lucinda Lavender: was going to say Hana your poem reminds me of As above So Below
Arisia Vita: I think that if men could only experience the joy of mothering, the world would be a better place.
Lucinda Lavender: yes I do...but sometimes I get to busy:)
Hana Furlough: what is that, luci?
Lucinda Lavender: Something I have seen in writings of a new age sort
Lucinda Lavender: Perhaps the image of the stars of the heavens and the fireflies of the marsh mirroring each other
--BELL--
Arisia Vita: may I share a lovely video on being grateful for the gift of today?
Hana Furlough: interesting... the poem is by Fujiwara no Yoshitsune (1169-1206), so it's a surprising resonance
Hana Furlough: yes please, ari!
Arisia Vita: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nj2ofrX7jAk
Lucinda Lavender: :) Hana, Thanks ARi
Arisia Vita: yw
Arisia Vita: I love the little girl at the beginning, her face, eyes, and the way she is just being herself

Arisia Vita: I will share a short poem, as I must leave and tend to some rl things...
Lucinda Lavender: :)
Arisia Vita: I would be true, for there are those who trust me; I would be pure, for there are those who care; I would be strong, for there is much to suffer; I would be brave, for there is much to dare - Howard Walter
