2012.06.15 19:00 - More on Enoughness

The Guardian for this meeting was stevenaia Michinaga. The comments are by stevenaia Michinaga.

Alfred Kelberry and druth Vlodovic joined me

We began my playing a bit of  football (Soccer) in the playgota

    Alfred Kelberry: wait
    stevenaia Michinaga: wait?
Alfred Kelberry: why is this meeting time always so crowded?!
    stevenaia Michinaga: must be me
    Alfred Kelberry: eh
    Alfred Kelberry: nobody's online
stevenaia Michinaga: how do you play soccer here?
Alfred Kelberry: come close to the ball, then you get a kick menu
    Alfred Kelberry: come closer
    Alfred Kelberry: haha
stevenaia Michinaga: a bit to close
Alfred Kelberry: i wonder if i could kick the ball with you sitting on it :)
    Alfred Kelberry: hi, druth
druth Vlodovic: it's stuck to me
stevenaia Michinaga: Druth is a Pro
druth Vlodovic: steve is cheating, hiding it under her dress
stevenaia Michinaga: where did I kick the ball?
    Alfred Kelberry: some place
stevenaia Michinaga: can you whistle and retreive it?
    Alfred Kelberry: see it
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
stevenaia Michinaga: do I ahve it?
    Alfred Kelberry: nope
druth Vlodovic: so the theme this week is "soccer" :)
    stevenaia Michinaga: perhaps tranhuman soccor
Alfred Kelberry: next one too :)
    stevenaia Michinaga: transhuman
    Alfred Kelberry: until the finals
stevenaia Michinaga: where is the ball?
    Alfred Kelberry: is gone :)
stevenaia Michinaga: is soccor this complicated
Alfred Kelberry: jagerfan - sounds swedish
Alfred Kelberry: it is when played in a fluffy skirt and high heels :)
stevenaia Michinaga: isn;t it very late for you, Boxy?
    Alfred Kelberry: who knows
    Alfred Kelberry: it's relative
stevenaia Michinaga: I don't have hight heels

    --BELL--

Alfred Kelberry: ah, it's jägermeister fan
stevenaia Michinaga: so this is Storm's contribution
    druth Vlodovic: jagermeister?
    stevenaia Michinaga: soccer
    Alfred Kelberry: yes, your tag
druth Vlodovic: ah, I know where it's from but your version sounds interesting :)
stevenaia Michinaga: I don;t thnk Storm drinks jagermeister
druth Vlodovic: ugh, I tried it once, it was awful
Alfred Kelberry: stev, yaku set it up :)
druth Vlodovic: but then I'm not a hard liqor type
    stevenaia Michinaga: awww
Alfred Kelberry: storm is a convert to inferior american football now :)
    stevenaia Michinaga: I can;t imagine
Alfred Kelberry: usually para is here at this time
stevenaia Michinaga: on Friday? I missed her session last night
stevenaia Michinaga: I try to fill in for Sylectra now if I can
Alfred Kelberry: 7 pm, not sure about fridays

A question of "Enoughness" offered by Alfred (My word, his topic)

Alfred Kelberry: do you guys feel like you need a bigger house and a bigger car?
    stevenaia Michinaga: no, actually
    druth Vlodovic: why?
stevenaia Michinaga: would love smaller "things"
stevenaia Michinaga: sometimes it;s simply enough
stevenaia Michinaga: and more get;s you very little
stevenaia Michinaga: most of the times more is a way to impress others
stevenaia Michinaga: or go a bit faster
    stevenaia Michinaga: (lacking patience)
Alfred Kelberry: good to know, though rather expected answer given enlightened members of pab :)
stevenaia Michinaga: everyone has their own answer, what's yours?
Alfred Kelberry: most people are drawn into "more" and "bigger" though, it seems
    stevenaia Michinaga: perhaps shinny things?
Alfred Kelberry: stev, i like things to be cosy :)
stevenaia Michinaga: not sure there would be any more satifaction in that
    Alfred Kelberry: despite the size
stevenaia Michinaga: but cosy can be very small
    Alfred Kelberry: or big
stevenaia Michinaga: more pillow just gets you lost
    stevenaia Michinaga: not more cosy
Alfred Kelberry: ah, cosy and functional - there

    --BELL--

stevenaia Michinaga: I live in a small house in a big neighborhood
stevenaia Michinaga: but it's just fine
stevenaia Michinaga: roses and birds make it quite complete
    Alfred Kelberry: lovely :)
Alfred Kelberry: i hope there will be a shift to roses from greed in peoples pro-capital mindsets
stevenaia Michinaga: I remember someone said that you never get "full" with more money, so you never have enough
stevenaia Michinaga: if that's what you want
    Alfred Kelberry: true
druth Vlodovic: maybe it's the appetite switch thing
Alfred Kelberry: it's just that your bar is set up higher
stevenaia Michinaga: exactly, you know when to stop eating
druth Vlodovic: missing something- so you try to "fill up" with whatever you can lay hands on
stevenaia Michinaga: no, but with some thing there is a built-in limit in your mind/body
Alfred Kelberry: i think until the social guides are altered, the context we live in, it will only deteriorate
Alfred Kelberry: occupy was a good attempt in awakening
stevenaia Michinaga: it is not over
Alfred Kelberry: yes, hopefully. it gave a lot of thought to people. sort of opened their eyes on possible alternatives.
druth Vlodovic: protesting isn't enough though
stevenaia Michinaga: I have always found optimism tends to energize change, pessimism is the easy and less creative way out
druth Vlodovic: you have to do something, figure out what you want, plan it out, and implement it
Alfred Kelberry: how is the tea party doing? do you think they have a chance to become the 3rd political power?
    Alfred Kelberry: stev, true
Alfred Kelberry: read an article on it, actually. quite profound.
Alfred Kelberry: druth, yes. it was not very structured. but did move the ball nonetheless.
stevenaia Michinaga: always hard to understand how a following is created
stevenaia Michinaga: sometimes it's a word, other times it's simply a the right moment
stevenaia Michinaga: but moments change too
Alfred Kelberry: stev, could be an interesting topic: how following is created

    --BELL--

stevenaia Michinaga: yes, we seems to enjoy "following' PaB in it's ever changing forms
stevenaia Michinaga: any thoughts on that ?
    Alfred Kelberry: um...
Alfred Kelberry: oh, i can hear the ball :)
    stevenaia Michinaga: :)
stevenaia Michinaga: time to go, it;s been a long week
    druth Vlodovic: bye steve
    stevenaia Michinaga: night Druth, Boxy
stevenaia Michinaga: as they say on the radio, I;ll take the answer offline
    stevenaia Michinaga: :)
    Alfred Kelberry: poof
Alfred Kelberry: guess the meeting is adjourned
    druth Vlodovic: looks like it
Alfred Kelberry: ok, be good :)
druth Vlodovic: I won't do anything you wouldn't do :)

Like this... in the spirit of 'poking tiny holes in what seems to be non-negotiable'
