Bleu Oleander: masks meaning different avatars? or avatars wearing masks?

Bleu Oleander: love to play with ideas about identity and self
Bleu Oleander: different avatars seem to bring out different aspects of self
Bleu Oleander: many of them from my videos

stevenaia Michinaga: I actually change rarely and usually at the convincing of others

stevenaia Michinaga: seems I become easilly accustom to myself
Bleu Oleander: I like to play with it
stevenaia Michinaga: I usually loose track of my avatar parts when I change, I can be hard to reconstruct :)

stevenaia Michinaga: inventory in SL is something that can be quite hard to organize
Bleu Oleander: yes!
stevenaia Michinaga: I once let someone "in" to help me organize
Bleu Oleander: oh like in rl
Bleu Oleander: closet organizers
stevenaia Michinaga: that was very interesting, no like in being possesed
Bleu Oleander: wouldn't attempt that myself
stevenaia Michinaga: it has a profound affect on the you-ness when you are in someone elses avatar
Bleu Oleander: yes I'm sure it would
Bleu Oleander: I've used my husband's avatar ... feels strange
stevenaia Michinaga: strange isn;t it, like wearing another's mask
Bleu Oleander: I won't let him use mine haha!

Paradise Tennant: always get confused though a mask implies that what you are presenting is not really you but I think we have so many layers that really is not very accurate ..

stevenaia Michinaga: right, a mask can be a purposeful deception, or just another aspect of you
stevenaia Michinaga: or both
Paradise Tennant: lol I especially think our deceptions are just another aspect of us :)

Paradise Tennant: truth being so relative as to almost be squishy
Paradise Tennant: fits into any shape
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, and a deception can actually be a very truthful aspect of someone as a deceiver
Paradise Tennant: yes
Paradise Tennant: being part of a whole .. say the bigness that is reality means you own every bit of it ..including all the murky bits
Paradise Tennant: we are all a bit of the bad and a bit of the good

stevenaia Michinaga: It takes so much effort to "hide" oneself, since in the end, I don't think you can possibly succeed
stevenaia Michinaga: you are your mask
Paradise Tennant: lol precisely what you are hiding behind is just as much you as any of it

Paradise Tennant: really if we come round so many times .. we have been eveything from rogue to saint and likely a june bug here and there :)
