    Eliza Madrigal: Hi, Catrina :)
    Catrinamonblue Resident: Hi Eliza

    --BELL--

    Ewan Bonham: Hi Folks...:)
    Catrinamonblue Resident: Hi Ewan
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Ewan! :)
Eliza Madrigal: How are we doing tonight? I was looking at patience quotes for inspiration
Eliza Madrigal: have to admit it isn't a sexy topic to me

    Eliza Madrigal: Hi stevenaia!
Catrinamonblue Resident: patience has been the word of the week for me so far :)
Eliza Madrigal: of course it is an important one though
    Catrinamonblue Resident: Hi Steve
    stevenaia Michinaga: waves
    Ewan Bonham: Hi Steve..
Eliza Madrigal: would love to hear
Catrinamonblue Resident: Just being patient while people figure out what they want out of life :)
Catrinamonblue Resident: being patient with myself and not strangling people when they act silly
Eliza Madrigal: do you feel yourself to be someone who really knows?
Catrinamonblue Resident: I think I know what I want yes, I have goals, plans that I would like to accomplish
Catrinamonblue Resident: but a lot has been put on hold
    Catrinamonblue Resident: waiting for people

Eliza Madrigal: I remember this thing Paradise said... that sometimes we need someone to just stand with us while we figure it all out
Eliza Madrigal: ...and to sincerely want the best
Eliza Madrigal: I added the second line :)
    stevenaia Michinaga: :)

Catrinamonblue Resident: I like that and yes I'm trying to just stand
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Catrinamonblue Resident: holding still is so new to me! :)
stevenaia Michinaga: it takes patience to support and not judge
    Catrinamonblue Resident: yes
    stevenaia Michinaga: hi Hana

Eliza Madrigal: I watched a film I've seen several times, the other night, and there was a scene where the lead began to write a letter... it was soooooo slow and beautiful... not even a whole sentence
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi hana! :)
    Catrinamonblue Resident: Hi Hana :)
Eliza Madrigal: we're beginning to talk about patience
Hana Furlough: hi eliza, ewan, stevena, and cat
Hana Furlough: sorry for standing on you, cat
    Hana Furlough: nice
    Catrinamonblue Resident: np :)
Eliza Madrigal: but it was strange to see the writing, since everything moves so fast now
stevenaia Michinaga: can I ask which movie?
Eliza Madrigal: It was the most recent Pride and Prejudice... around 2004 - I actually thought about one of your 99 days entries Stevie.. about going slow
Catrinamonblue Resident: love that movie :)
    stevenaia Michinaga: yes
Eliza Madrigal: :) I have issues with one part, but I love it too mostly ^^
stevenaia Michinaga: everything is so fast

Eliza Madrigal: would be quite a practice to write a long letter by hand perhaps
    Eliza Madrigal: neatly
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
stevenaia Michinaga: with me, if you put the right pen in my hand, you put the time in to make the words look better

    --BELL--

Eliza Madrigal: so taking time to find the right instrument?
stevenaia Michinaga: taking time with the right instrument
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Hana Furlough: : )
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
    Ewan Bonham: :)
Eliza Madrigal: I was about to say something like, nature seems patient, then a flood of images came through my mind where nature seemed anything but :)
Catrinamonblue Resident: patience is in the eye of the beholder :)
stevenaia Michinaga: I will post a picture of todays favorite pen for me

    Pen.JPG
    stevenaia Michinaga: (in the log)
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, good, ty (did you see my piano buddha?)
    Catrinamonblue Resident: yes :)
    Ewan Bonham: Where is it?
Eliza Madrigal smiles - stevie asked for a picture of a pebble referenced.... one moment...
Hana Furlough: i want to see
    Eliza Madrigal: https://wiki.playasbeing.org/Chat_Logs/2013/01/2013.01.29_19:00_-_words_stream_through_without_capture
    Eliza Madrigal: (bottom)
stevenaia Michinaga: I found the pebble, I kept one in my office gave the others away
Eliza Madrigal: ty for comment Cat :)
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Catrinamonblue Resident: I love pebbles :)
Eliza Madrigal: I moved the buddha to the piano originally, a few years ago, after Eos and I had a session about wu wei and "when I think on the spaces between notes, the music begins to play itself"
stevenaia Michinaga: I must have missed the piano image when I was away
    Hana Furlough: : )
Eliza Madrigal: anyway, sorry for diversion
Hana Furlough: no that's an important piece of information
Hana Furlough: thanks for sharing it
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
    Eliza Madrigal smiles, ty
    Catrinamonblue Resident: pebbles require patience

Hana Furlough: can i share a bit of sad news?
    Eliza Madrigal: Oh, yes
    Catrinamonblue Resident: yes
Hana Furlough: as some of you know, there is a pigeon nest on my balcony
Hana Furlough: and two babies hatched about two weeks ago
    Eliza Madrigal: yes
Hana Furlough: well, one of them stopped growing and passed away yesterday

Hana Furlough: i feel like i should have done something
    Eliza Madrigal: :(
    Catrinamonblue Resident: oh Hana hugs
Hana Furlough: right away when i noticed it wasn't growing
Hana Furlough: at the end, when it became dire, i couldn't even reach the bird

    [the reaching... compassionate gesture, too]

Catrinamonblue Resident: it's hard to know what to do sometimes
Ewan Bonham: How would you know what to do?
Hana Furlough: my arm is six inches too short
Eliza Madrigal: you couldn't know... and you're so attentive
    stevenaia Michinaga: nods
    Hana Furlough: thanks everyone
Eliza Madrigal: so sorry to hear that
stevenaia Michinaga: they are so delicate
Ewan Bonham: And maybe it was not in your hands at all..
Hana Furlough: i want to believe that
Catrinamonblue Resident: it may be that there was some genetic defect and no matter what you may have done the bird would have died anyway
Catrinamonblue Resident: it is the way of life and death
Hana Furlough: yeah, that's true. i was also worried about hurting the baby if i tried to feed it
Hana Furlough: i think it takes some skill to not put the food in their lungs

Eliza Madrigal: I remember my sister when little running after to pick up a duckling that seemed to not be keeping up, and my mom screaming out not to touch it because it might be rejected
Eliza Madrigal: I know you would have rescued if you could
Hana Furlough: i know. i was worried about what would happen to the other bird if i disturbed the nest
Hana Furlough: it just happened so fast
Eliza Madrigal nods it is a whole situation

Hana Furlough: i want to feel like, this was meant to be
Hana Furlough: and i have moments when i do
Hana Furlough: but i feel like i really failed the poor thing
    Catrinamonblue Resident: hugs ((((Hana))))

    --BELL--

Eliza Madrigal: natural compassion, thank you for coming to share/be with us Hana
    Hana Furlough: aww thanks everyone
Hana Furlough: sorry for interrupting your discussion
stevenaia Michinaga: thanks for letting us in
    Eliza Madrigal: not at all
Eliza Madrigal: it is so deep that feeling... something so vital and real
    Hana Furlough: yeah
    Hana Furlough: no lies there
    Eliza Madrigal: that's right
Eliza Madrigal: "genuine mind of sadness"
Eliza Madrigal: I rescued a few kittens from a park a few months ago... neither of them survived, though I found one a home and had almost found one for the other
Hana Furlough: oh no, i'm so sorry to hear that
Hana Furlough: kittens are very hard to save when they're small
Catrinamonblue Resident: I have had similar situations
Eliza Madrigal: they were so tiny... mother not to be found... they were crying so loudly in the park that I couldn't help try

Hana Furlough: yeah that is what my bird did at the end
Hana Furlough: he was crying really loudly
    Hana Furlough: it was horrible
    Eliza Madrigal: Ohhh :(((
Hana Furlough: and then she stopped
Hana Furlough: and my friend who is a monk performed a service over skype as the end was nearing
Hana Furlough: and when he finished, she had passed

    Eliza Madrigal: how lovely
    Hana Furlough: it was
Eliza Madrigal: it is an honor, if one thinks about it, for there to be witnesses to one's passing
    Hana Furlough: yeah, that's true
Ewan Bonham: As you say, an honor..
Ewan Bonham: To in some small way ease their suffering..
    Hana Furlough: yes
    Eliza Madrigal: yes
Eliza Madrigal: think we generate space for one another

Catrinamonblue Resident: sry guys but I have to go.
Catrinamonblue Resident: it has been good to talk to you all
    Catrinamonblue Resident: Hugs Hana
Eliza Madrigal: okay Catrina, wish you well
    Hana Furlough: nice chatting cat
    Eliza Madrigal: Night
    Hana Furlough: thank you
    stevenaia Michinaga: bye Cat

Eliza Madrigal: considering that it would be an awful thing not to feel sad, or even the desperation of having wanted to save the little bird
    Hana Furlough: yeah that's true
stevenaia Michinaga: thinking abut the movie Groundhog Day where he tries to save the street person
Eliza Madrigal: what a great film... am not remembering the scene though
Eliza Madrigal: can you tell it?
Hana Furlough: i don't know that scene
stevenaia Michinaga: even tryes everything to save the panhandler every day he passes by trying something different each time and each day (the same day) he passes... some things no matter how hard you try result in the inevitable

    --BELL--

Hana Furlough: thanks for sharing that
Hana Furlough: it makes me feel better a bit
stevenaia Michinaga: there are some things you cannot change, not matter what you try
Eliza Madrigal: just being with the situation
    Hana Furlough: yeah it's true
    Eliza Madrigal: ty stevie
stevenaia Michinaga: I alway enjoy watching that movie, many lessons, even about patience in it :)
Eliza Madrigal: it is... a "must see"
    Hana Furlough: yes
Eliza Madrigal: brings a smile about a feeling of ennui under the surface at times that can actually be quite overwhelming
Eliza Madrigal: it really is the same five songs playing on the radio
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: I feel it all the time with myself - am I really telling that story again? lol
    Santoshima Resident: which movie?
    Eliza Madrigal: Groundhog Day

    Eliza Madrigal: Hi San :)
    Hana Furlough: hi san
